Still awesome, love this place. Come and have a drink...or two and enjoy the vinyls! The drinks are developed and mixed by the owner and are amazing!! These cocktails are probably THE BEST DRINKS we've EVER had. I can't say enough about this understated bar. Ps the Old Fashioned is a favorite. We cannot wait to come back.

It took me a while to warm up to Wax Bar because Ollie was my favorite, but what's not to love. Super cool atmosphere, great selection of cocktails and vinyl, and a decent happy hour. They have recently added bar snacks to the menu which is a nice addition!

Affordable mini vacation. It was right to the point- tiki drinks and records. The drinks were between $10-14 and it was definitely worth every penny. Fresh garnishes, fun flavors without the cheesy decor. My only complaint would be the limited seating and that most of the seating was high stools, I have back problems so sometimes this format is not friendly for me personally. Recommend for 1-3 people in your party. Clean bathroom and central to other bars and restaurants. Parking is close, about a 3 min walk (behind the buildings across the street).

Great vibe, friendly staff, great place to be I ended up having a traditional beer and drinks. I did share a handcrafted cocktail with my wife, which was very unique. This is definitely the place you want to go if you want to try a drink you never had before Time will tell to see if they are earth changing, adding, or subtracting. They did have two specials that day, and I imagine if you'd like one of their specials, you would be able to order it again Will make this part of my regular rotation, at least once a month, prior to going out to dinner with my wife

Easily the best spot to hang out in all of Ann Arbor/Ypsi! Thoughtful, delicious drinks, plus you're surrounded by hundreds of records and just the best music. We happened to be there on a Saturday evening so we started inside with the record jams and then moved to their outdoor patio to catch the live music outside. 10/10

One side is records and the other side is a bar!

Very cool setup; bar on one side and records on the other. They had a nice selection of both drinks and records!

Came here last night to check out this new/updated spot. Ordered our drinks inside. Lots of good ones to choose from and can flip through records while waiting for them to craft the cocktails. Service was friendly. Brought our drinks outside to sit on the patio. The ice cream dranks are very tasty and can't wait to try them all.

Wax Bar has done an excellent job at creating a drink list that can cater to anyone's taste buds! The drinks are really well made and thought out. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Depot Town. (The vinyl records on display and for sale are a plus!)

    Paper Tiger - delicious!

Disappointing BBQ Experience We drove in from a few towns…read moreover, excited to try this spot because they're open late (until 11pm) and we were craving some solid BBQ. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing visit overall. We ordered the DQ Pulled Pork and Brisket, and both came out cold with no flavor. The corn bread was okay, and the collard greens were surprisingly spicy -- not bad, just unexpected. We originally wanted the trifecta but they had already run out of ribs. So we went for two orders of burnt ends, expecting that rich, crispy texture. Instead, they were soft, smushy, and cold -- more like baby food than BBQ. Not good at all. The only standout dish was the corn cream cheese side -- warm, flavorful, and probably the best part of the meal. Also worth mentioning: the bartender was great -- super cool and clearly passionate. The place itself has a chill, loungey vibe, but it doesn't really feel like a true BBQ joint. Final thoughts: Burnt ends: Cold, soft, no bark -- total miss Pulled pork & brisket: Cold, bland Collard greens: Spicy, but decent Corn cream cheese: Delicious Vibe: Cool, but not very BBQ-ish Service: Bartender was the highlight Wish we could've had the food to match the energy. Hopefully they can tighten things up, especially on the basics.

We were escorted to our table by our lovely host, and when we arrived at our table in the back of the restaurant, there was a cute "happy birthday" table card waiting for us. This was incredibly thoughtful and a nice touch for our celebration dinner. Also, I love how this restaurant is decorated - the art work, the furniture, and plants - all come together to create a welcoming, cozy, warm atmosphere for any dining experience. I also love how the menu continuously rotates and highlights fresh produce from local suppliers. We both ordered a different dish and shared, plus we had some leftovers, so the portions are very generous. We also tried some of the oysters with vinaigrette they were fresh and delicious. To conclude our dinner, we were gifted with a DELIGHTFUL banana pudding with a scoop of ice cream and a candle to make a wish (though our wish for a wonderful meal and dining experience was throughly satisfied already ) Thanks again for a great time bellflower!

The salad was fresh and well dressed - simple but good. The second starter was sardine tin. Very very good. Not overly fishy and the garnishes served with it were perfect. For mains which are enough to share, one was the trout! Absolutely well seasoned and crispy. It is served whole and butterflied. We changed the side to the house vegetable. OMG these sautéed garden veggies were the best! The other main was a Japanese curry dish. Here is why the five starting dropped to a four. It was just ok. We would not order again. For dessert we had the bread pudding- another star for the night! To the owner, terrific staff. Everyone we engaged in, were positive and knowledgeable. They are a great team! Looking forward to a second visit!

We arrived approximately 15 minutes before our reservations and were seated immediately in the sparsely filled restaurant. Their air conditioning was refreshing after a long day in the sun. Their menu has a Louisiana flair, so I ordered the chicken-and-sausage gumbo and had their étouffée as my main course. The dishes are very similar in content, except that the étouffée included crawfish and shrimp and came with two pieces of bread. Both were very good, but we're a little light on the Cajun spices. I enjoyed a soft parade pint of beer from their vast craft beer and wine menu. Others in my party of five enjoyed their salad with a protein pizza and a cheeseburger. They have low-top, high-top, booth, and bar seating, along with outdoor patio seating. Full bar. The interior has a knotty wood finish with a somewhat industrial feel. The building used to hold Civil War barracks. Clean restrooms. Excellent service. Pricey. Parking can be difficult. They have posted 3% surcharge fee that references fast-rising expenses. They do not charge a credit card fee, so I guess it balances out. I would recommend.

When I got to the restaurant there were exactly 5 patrons in the building my friend, and 4 people sitting at a table by the door. My friend approached me at the door we hugged and returned to our table. Once we sat we instantly started a conversation and waited patiently for the waitress to come to our table. Again, the restaurant was not busy and usually in most places I've gone once all the people that are dining arrives the server usually returns. This unfortunately did not happen. We sat for roughly 20 minutes drinking water and reviewing the menu. There were some other people that came into the establishment and sat at the table next to us.The server took drinks to the table by the door which those people were already there and then proceeded to take the order of the people that sat next to my table despite coming in after my friend and I. Needless to say my friend and I left. Because the environment started to feel a bit racist. We sat there extremely patiently not being addressed one time after I joined my friend just to be blatantly ignored for the server to attend to only the white patrons in the building.
