Irene was very friendly and did a lovely job on my back and lip yesterday. She also gave me tips on hair care for my lady bits and sensitive skin issues. So I can't speak to the quality of nails here but I can speak to the quality of waxing. So I was busy and I needed a last minute wax before flying out on vacation. A lot of places in Hollywood are booked, so this place has an opening, I take it. I get here I'm led into a back room, that is CLUTTERED. Not to mention there was like a dog sitting on the couch in the wax room ...? I love dogs and animals but when my sanitation is at play, I think I would prefer no dogs. They lady proceeds to use that soft wax that you have to lay paper strips down to use, she rips out the hairs so bad that I'm bleeding in a few spots. When she uses the stick usually people toss them into a trash can or something, but she just piled them up on the side of the wax warmer. I've been waxing for 5 years, and never once has someone used that type of wax for a Brazilian before. Pretty horrific and painful. read more

I visited Irina two weeks ago for waxing. She is very professional. Place was clean and I felt very comfortable I will be returning.

First time here today getting a brazilian wax from Irene. First off, her studio is inside the Butter Nails salon. Her space is very clean and organized. She is very quick (my entire brazilian took no more than 15 minutes from start to finish) and extremely meticulous. Irene spent some extra time at the end to try and get out all the little hairs that the wax couldn't pick up. Absolutely no double dipping...at the end of your service, you can see the pile of sticks she uses on the side. I won't say the ordeal is painless because, let's be real, getting your lady bits waxed is NOT painless. However, Irene makes it as manageable as possible. I generally stay far away from places that don't use hard wax because I have very sensitive skin and have had people who had their wax way too hot and left my skin extra sensitive afterward. Not the case with Irene...the wax was not too hot and after the initial sting/jolt of the wax pull...no more pain. As I was checking out, Irene repeatedly thanked me for trying her out and told me that for the next couple of visits, she will continue to give me the $35 pricing for a brazilian. Can't say enough good things about Irine. I found her via Yelp about six months ago and I have officially found my favourite wax experience in Los Angeles (it only took nine years). I first found Irene through KGB Deals promotion for Brazilian waxing, and I've returned to her many times, since then. As other reviewers have commented, the building she's in is very old fashioned, and it's a little hard to find her studio. (I've been there several times, and I still manage to make at least one wrong turn, every time I come back!) Anyway, Irene is pleasant, thorough and pretty fast. She's not afraid to get "in there" to make sure she removes all the hair, which I appreciate-- no point in being shy, when you know you're going in for a Brazilian wax, after all. And, after my first session with the KGB Deals discount, she has honored a returning customer discount and given me a pretty awesome rate for my waxes. I won't say the waxing is painless, because, when is getting the hair on your junk ripped out by the roots NOT going to hurt? But, Irene does a good job of not making it worse than it has to be, and she moves pretty quickly. Recommend! read more

The Wax Studio is Irene's suite that's located in an old gray building near Sweetzer & Beverly on the 2nd floor. Came in today for my first Brazilian wax with Irene and I'm happy with the results! Although it did hurt for a bit she makes the process as smooth as possible. She's very very nice, professional and efficient. I went in there and got out in about 15 minutes. I think her rates are fair and affordable compared to most other places. I love the fact that it's walking distance from my house! Holy bejeezus. I'd only been brazilian waxed prior at one other place (Beba in Westwood), but since I've moved to Koreatown, I needed to find something closer. Found Irene via KGB deals and all of the other reviews are completely accurate. Hands down, most thorough, QUICK waxing I've ever experienced. I can't even explain how fast she is. And she used a magnifying mirror to thoroughly catch strays/ingrowns. (The only downside, which I could have fixed myself... I'm used to being told to pull my skin (no idea if this make sense) and it makes the waxing process less painful. I didn't do that, and OOOOOOHHHHH my Lord, I found this experience way more painful than other wax jobs I've had. But, still, faster and more thorough.) She told me that I'd receive $30 waxing for future appointments. I'm kind of tempted to continue searching for cheap wax deals, because that's fun... But she did an amazing job and I'll probably return to her. The building is old style, so you wander around through the halls looking for her place. Just a warning, so you can expect that. OH! One more funny thing. I'm used to someone leaving the room while you disrobe. Nope. She just kinda sets up the room and in my head I'm like..... Lightning fast service. The owner booked me on a last minute call, she took me about 20 minutes after I called. The shop is located in an apartment-type complex and was a little difficult to find once inside but I managed to walk around and find the sign on the door. Irene is a little rough and tough but she gets the job done. I also asked her to wax a little extra during my session and she did without hesitation. I definitely felt rushed but I know that this woman tries to work fast to get the clients in and out. I had a little wax leftover that I wish she would've oiled off since I had to go right to work after waxing, but that's okay. Irene's very nice. And I loved her accent. read more
