I've been going to Fadoua for about a year now and cannot get waxed by anyone else! She was the first person to ever give me a Brazilian wax and even though I live farther away now, I make the drive to see her. I have an extremely low pain tolerance and usually struggle through waxes but Fadoua is a true professional and makes it easy for me. I'm able to hold a conversation with her through the entire appointment and she is so supportive. On top of my low pain tolerance, I have some body marks in the area we wax and she has never had any issues and is able to work around them as well as help with my ingrown hairs I'm very susceptible to. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone thinking about getting waxed for the first time or if you're a seasoned veteran at it! I'd been driving to the Boulder location the last 3 waxes in Colorado, after a horrible experience in Denver here (https://bit.ly/3u9I0J8), but I called yesterday, and was able to find an aesthetician to book today, who was willing to volunteer that she was vaccinated, saving me 1-hour both ways. Today I saw Fadoua for both a Brazilian and an underarm wax, and she was wonderful! She - like Michele in Boulder - & I showed each other our vaccination cards, and that helped me feel calm, safe, and at ease from the start. I had my first Brazilian wax with Kanchan and it was amazing. I've had eyebrow and bikini waxes before, but this was my first time with a full Brazilian and I was a little nervous. Kanchan was so peaceful and kind and she really helped take my mind off the process. She was very thorough and I am so smooth and hairless. Very impressed! I highly recommend booking with her. Attempted to do a couples waxing service here with my wife and was greeted by Heather who insisted on repeating no less than 5 times that "you were late so I will try to do the best I can" after we arrived no later than 10 minutes late. After I was undressed and waiting on the table she went further to repeat this again to me. It was at that point I decided to not have someone so unpleasant carry out this service on me... So I left and I would not recommend this experience to my worst enemy. I was pretty infuriated after the exchange and maybe got a little loud, but after the weekend the icing on the cake was that the manager proceeded to 'ban my wife and myself' because of how we reacted. But there was no concern as to why we came in with high spirits and left in sour ones and that was solely down to the lack of class and professionalism by their employee. Furthermore my wife was not loud or even aggressive but she refused to have the lady carry out the service on her for her own reason completely. read more

When I was 13, my mom told me she was taking me to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. As much as I protested, she said that one day I'd thank her for paying for my appointments because the hair will eventually stop growing back as thick. I went every month until around age 18. I will never allow another group of women between my legs. Well, for waxing purposes. I have always kept myself completely shaven but really grew tired of the extra hair sprouting in new places and the ingrown hairs. Two years ago, I decided to take my waxing experience to new 'areas' of my body. I made an appointment with Waxing the City as a recommendation from a coworker. I started off with Stacey Knapp but stuck with Desiree Woodward but have had a couple of other cerologist in between. All experiences have been great. The atmosphere is comfortable, the facilities are clean, the staff are engaging and personable, they provide reading material, liquid libation, breath mints (just in case), and toiletries once you've entered the room so you can 'freshen up'. They allow you the privacy to change, get comfortable, and cover up before they start the process and the techniques they use allow you to continue to feel modest throughout the process (if that's your thing). Waxing the City also has this blue wax that works wonders. Traditionally, most salons use the yellow wax but the blue wax is specially made for those of us with skin sensitivities and who can be prone to ingrown hairs, rashing, and so on. I have attempted to go to other cerologists who just use the yellow wax and all of my experiences have been less than stellar. I mean, rashing, ingrown clusters that resemble ringworms, and crazy itching less than stellar. So, obviously, the wax option is an added bonus for me. The tip is included in the overall price and the price scale increases by level. I'm not sure what all the pricing is but, I believe, my cerologist is a Level I so I usually pay $48-50 for a full brazillian. Desiree is wonderful. I have a genital piercing and I have never had an issue with her or any of them getting it caught in wax or causing me any discomfort in the process (unlike all of my other non-Waxing the City experiences). They also pluck away any strays gently and thoroughly. All I can say is, "Keep doing me the way you do". read more

I have found my new go-to waxing salon! Everyone who works at Waxing in the City is very professional. The estheticians themselves are called "cerologists"--masters of waxing. I'm not exactly calm or poised when it comes to Brazilian waxes, but Annalize immediately put me at ease. She was quick yet gentle and incredibly thorough. I've visited both high-end salons and entrepreneurial estheticians; this was by far the easiest (i.e. least painful) session I've ever had. Plus, there is a strict no-tipping policy. The prices are very reasonable and they do an amazing job. I just received a thank you note from Annalize herself--proof of how they go the extra mile for their clientele. I used to be a regular at the downtown location of Waxing the City, and while I love the esthetician that I have been seeing for the last few years, my recently single self can no longer afford her brow and tint services every six weeks. So I decided to give the DTC location of Waxing the City a go for this round and I'm glad I did. The thing I really like about Waxing the City is the consistency I'm confident that I can go to any of the waxers and get the job done well and they keep a file with notes to make sure that happens. I also like the reasonable pricing, i actually like that there is no longer Level 1-3 pricing and that it's the same for any of the waxers. And while you can now tip at Waxing the City, it's not expected. That said, she did do a great job so i did. I'm glad I rediscovered Waxing the City and tried this location. Working and living in the Tech center, the best thing about this place is the location. The lady at the front desk seemed put-off that I was an entirely new client and there was a bit of confusion which gave a less than stellar first impression. Before going in, I read the website's description for their eyebrow wax treatment, which at $21 is higher in price than a few places in the surrounding area. However, first time clients get 50% off so I thought it was worth a try, especially since their description for "Brow Shaping" on their website seemed like it would be a lot more than the average sit down get your brows plucked and leave experience. Their website states that "After you share your brow likes, dislikes, and desires, we assess them from every angle before we expertly wax, trim, and tweeze to achieve their best shape." ... I'm sure this happens when their staff is trained, but there was no discussion during my appointment. The wax seemed a little bit weak for my thick, dark eyebrows, and she did have to do quite a bit of plucking after. While the shape of my brows was nice, when I looked closely there were quite a few obvious stray hairs that could have easily been plucked. I had way higher hopes for this place because of its convenient location! read more

I go here mainly because they use blue wax and because the location is so convenient. Services - B. Facilities always very clean. I have gone through many different esthetician as I can't seem to find one I love for level 2 price point. Even same girls can be inconsistent month to month, sometimes making brows too thin or not taking time for straight lines on bikini waxes. Prices - B-. I miss the days where you can get a brow wax for $15. Level 2 here is $21. Good thing is that here you don't have to tip. I am not sure how their prices compare with the market. I wish I could afford the Brazilian, but if my memory serves me right it's over $65. Yeoch! How about some coupons, Waxing in the City?? Location - A. Convenient off of Belleview and I-25.
