It was really easy to set up a good time, and the lady on the phone reminded me about the seven minute policy, so I knew ahead of time. When I got there, I had no idea what to expect, and I was quite apprehensive (I had read alllllll the stories about what happens if wax gets on the wrong spot and ripped off and all that). Rachel put me at ease almost immediately. She hardly looked at me, which I wasn't quite sure how to feel about that, but as she worked I realized what she was doing - she was trying to avoid the impression that she was looking at me as I was getting undressed from the waist down. Once I realized that, I felt even more relaxed and at ease. I had been warned that it would hurt, and indeed it did! But Rachel was pretty awesome - she used several different tricks to help minimize the pain for me so that it wasn't as intense or so it didn't linger afterwards. She explained about how the wax works, and why it is not the same kind of wax I had heard about that would cause damage, and of course she was right. As she was working, she was polite and pleasant, and worked quickly and efficiently. I had no real expectation of what the appointment would be like beforehand, but I definitely did not expect to be done that quickly and in no pain because of Rachel's tricks. She suggested the serum to prevent ingrown hairs, and since I'm prone to those, I tried it (it's decent - not necessarily up to the hype, but it works fairly well), and also scheduled my second appointment with Rachel because I was told that it hurts less and less each time, and I wanted to find out if that was true. The first experience was fabulous, though! And, for the record, after the second appointment, I can say conclusively that it definitely hurts less the subsequent times! Rachel was once again efficient and pleasant and ideal to work with. I'm happy enough with Rachel that I bought the 9+3 package and I drive from Wake Forest to Brier Creek just to have my appointment with her. I highly recommend her to anyone!

When you arrive you fill out paperwork with a few questions and they take your temperature. Do not forget your mask because they are required. The salon is split into two zones and the stylists have assigned teams that they work certain days with so if there is a COVID incident the chance of spread is minimal. They are still not serving drinks but blow drys are back! Alysha is the best stylist. I've been going to her for my cuts and colors since she was a blossom. You really can't go wrong with any of the stylists here though. They do a mentor program for new stylists, receive training to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques, they love where they work and are passionate about what they do. I highly recommend Blo. I also wanted to comment about what they did during the shutdown. They gave away free hair color to existing clients, there was a suggested donation of $20 (or more) and the proceeds went to No Kid Hungry NC. How amazing is that? I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was truly disappointing. I went for a nail fill and polish change, which is $45. I think the price is fairly reasonable, but, unfortunately when you need to go somewhere else and have your nails completely redone just over a week later because your acrylic nails are painfully lifting and even ripping off, it's no longer a good deal. When I got my nails done, the tech did not ask me any questions about length nor shape which I thought was odd. I didn't interrupt, bc everyone does it differently, so I assumed she would ask when she was ready to shape. But she never did. She simply quickly did the fill/color change and sent me on my way. She did not do a good job at getting my nails very close to the edges/cuticles, on the bottom or sides. There was notable space of empty nail on several fingers. Two days after I left, 3 of my nails were already lifting. To their credit, I did return a few days after that when my schedule allowed, and they re did those 3 nails at no charge. Unfortunately, just 3 more days later, two of those three nails and two OTHER nails have either lifted or completely ripped off. For context, I have been getting my nails done consistently since December 2021. I have never even had my nails lift, let alone lift so badly that they eventually rip off, in the nearly two years with my regular technician. I typically go about 4 weeks between fills, and am totally fine. Nails don't lift , break, crack, or tear. I couldn't even go 2 days without it happening here. I will be returning to my primary technician to get a new set of nails, since two have totally ripped off and four more are lifted - in about 1.5 weeks total - including the 3 that were already repaired once. I offered two stars, instead of 1, to be fair to the one god experience I had over a year ago and to acknowledge that they were willing to repair my three nails at no charge. I personally don't like it when businesses do this - as a business owner myself, I consider it the cost of doing business. I know CC fees add up, but I just personally find it really bothersome and this was not the case at the last nail place, or the place I went before that. When we checked in, we showed the receptionist the promotion. She had me create a new account and told us to remind her at checkout so she could apply the discount. However, when it was time to pay, a different staff member was at the front desk. This person spoke in circles, telling us the previous receptionist was mistaken and that the 10% discount would only apply to our next visit. It's not about the money--it's the inconsistency and misleading advertisement that bothered us. Being told two different things by two different staff members left us feeling frustrated and distrustful of the business. I got this for an event last weekend and am still loving it! I told her exactly what I wanted, although it was difficult as I had not had a spray tan in probably ten years! She somehow knew exactly what to do, and it was beautiful and natural looking. Almost 6 days later, still tan and beautiful. Me being me, I had plenty of questions. I think next time I'd skip the detox and do more of the reflexology, and maybe add a pedicure! I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a really nice experience.
