In terms of shaping, my brows are just okay. But I will second other reviews that talk about the gentleness of the threading. Maybe it was because I didn't wait years to do my upper lip (it was 3 months this time), maybe it's the thread they use, but it barely hurt when the aesthetician got rid of my 'stache. I did not leave the chair wiping off tears, nor did I need any aloe or soothing lotion post-threading. As of today, it's $14 to do brows and upper lip. Credit cards accepted. read more

There's not too much to say other than they're quick & precise. Each time I come, they get me in and out quickly. Even if there's a wait, they get everyone in and out in a timely manner. I only get my eyebrows done and they do a good job with shaping them but still keeping them thick. Nobody wants fine thin brows. Whew! I tried getting other areas threaded but OUCH! I'll stick to just my brows. The $7 for brows is well worth it. They offer other services but I cannot attest to those. The location is quiet outside of the occasional customer who will chitchat in their phones loudly. There is typically music playing. It can be soothing or uptempo, just depends on the day. Oh Chandni's! My go-to place for brow threading for the last three years. I trust them every time to do a great job for an even greater price (7$ for threading!). This eyebrow salon is attractive, clean and quiet. I enjoy the world music that they play. I agree with other reviewers that, even if there is a line of people, your wait still will not be very long. I do appreciate the efficient service. My primary criticism would be that their performance is inconsistent. Sometimes you get detailed and thorough attention to your eyebrows and at other times, they rush and the results are marginal. This usually is a function of how many customers are waiting. So, my advice is to find a time when they are not busy. You will be happiest with the results. I will also say that I find them all equally inconsistent. One day you'll go in and get awesome brows so you go to the same threader the next visit and are disappointed. However, if you are serviced by another threader on subsequent visits, you will find her performance hit-or-miss as well. Overall, pretty solid and I remain a client. read more

She has short/shoulder length hair. Probably in her 30-40s. Don't go to her. She has a nasty attitude and cant thread worth anything. My eyebrows are uneven. One is way thicker than the other. When I checked them and said they were uneven... She made a face and slammed the mirror back into the drawer. Hooray! Chandni's is taking over the Triangle, and Durham has recently fallen to their kingdom of threading. The original threading phenomenon has expanded from its Cary location to Morrisville and -- finally! -- Durham. After trying threading for the first time 9 months ago, I haven't looked back. My brows are so defined, and the process is so natural. I've tried a couple of other Durham-area places, but been disappointed by the cost. Chandnis is just $7, and the job I had done today was incredibly thorough. Moreso than most places I've been. I had Maru (sp?), and she was just as friendly as she was talented -- making small-talk with me, and checking in to make sure I was okay during the painful parts. The only reason for withholding a star is that she was the only person working, and there were four girls in front of me. I waited 25 minutes for my turn. I also found the set-up here a bit awkward, since the waiting area chairs face the customer chairs. So I felt sort of creeper-style watching the other girls get groomed. They also charge $1 fee on credit cards, so bring some cash if you can. read more

I am no eyebrow expert but I do know that waxing and threading can be pricey and plucking your eyebrows can be a bi... *sorry* a total pain. I have thick, dark bushy eyebrows, thanks grandpa, and they constantly need managing. So when I heard about a place that will help me out in the eyebrow department for less then $10 a visit I had to give them a try. On my first visit I took my two sisters with me to check it out. Threading is fast, so whether there's a line of customers or not, it won't be a long visit. You walk in the door and are greeted by the stylists that perform the threading in the big studio space, and sign in at the ipad. Then just wait your turn! I'm sensitive to pain so the first time I experienced threading at Chandni's I had to bite my tongue. It's definitely not as bad as plucking but it's a constant pulling of eyebrows for about 10-15 minutes (depending on how often you manage them). The stylists have good customer service and I always recognize the women. They've never asked me how I want my eyebrows shaped or any specifics but I personally don't have too many opinions when it comes to eyebrows so I don't mind that. Sometimes they'll give me tips on not plucking in certain areas to help even my eyebrows out (usually it's if I notice something that's uneven after they finish) and they definitely have a "style" they follow, my eyebrows get the same treatment every time. When they're ready to show you the finished product they'll give you a large mirror for examination and feedback. If all looks good they offer witch hazel or lotion to relieve any irritation and you're on your way! NOTE: They charge $1 on credit card purchases less then $10, so bring some cash if you only get your eyebrows threaded. They do offer other services (threading in other places, massage, facials) and you can sign up on an e-mail list to receive specials and updates, although I've only tried the threading. I'm conflicted on how I feel about this place. It's cheap and my brows are passible, but I don't think they did a great job. I'm not that picky when it comes to my eyebrows because I like them fuller and my hair is light. I've been looking for somewhere that does threading around here because it's less irritating to my skin than waxing (and usually less expensive). I definitely recommend trying threading if you haven't before. This was by far the fastest brow taming experience I've ever had (no wait and less than 2 minutes in the chair), so unsurprisingly it wasn't the most thorough. The ladies working weren't friendly though they weren't rude either. I told her that I like my brows fuller but with some arch. I don't think my eyebrows are completely even, they're thinner than I like, and the trimming is odd. But for $7 (which is the least I've ever paid for any eyebrow service), my eyebrows look okay. I enjoy getting my brows threaded here. The staff is very friendly and works quickly. I must admit... The first time was very painful! However, each time afterwards has not been bad at all. I usually get my brows, chin, and neck areas threaded. I tried having the upper lip area threaded but it was too painful so I said forget it. Used to be my favorite place to get my brows threaded. The last time I went in they cut one of my eyebrows wrongly. It might have been accidental and I wasn't upset because people make mistakes. I became upset when the lady had the audacity to tell me I had done it myself and it was my fault. She went on to mock and ridicule me in Hindi to another lady (of which I am fluent in) and THEN told some random lady entering that I had cut my eyebrows myself and I was upset. Although my botched brows aren't the end of the world, I am pretty upset because this was completely preventable. I have been to Chandni's often with hit or miss results, but none as upsetting as today. The lady obviously trimmed just one of my brows to the point of making it look like a flat top. Thankfully she didn't ruin the other one too, but now they clearly mismatch, which is the OPPOSITE of what I expect when I go there. BEST threading salon in Durham. I have a condition called hirsutism in which I literally grow a beard. I have been to other threading places and left feeling unsatisfied UNTIL I stumbled across this place. I now come here 1x/week to get my eyebrows and my entire jaw line/chin done. I'd read the reviews before going & im glad that I went! The ladies were very nice, pointed me to the iPad then sat me in a chair. I am always super cautious about that last star - 4 stars is easy, standard good service, no real complaints, but not like an AMAZING experience or anything. The 5 stars here is well-earned. I have truly awful eyebrows, they grow like weeds and are the bane of my existence. I don't have a lot of beauty/personal health demands like mani-pedis or massages or facials but I do get my threading done like clockwork. It's basically a necessity to continue participating in society as a human and not as a human-like gorilla. I came in, had my threading done and was out in less than 20 minutes. My eyebrows are PERFECTLY shaped (and this has never happened... I always find a stray hair missed) and best of all it's incredibly affordable. I usually dread getting it done because my old threader back in CA makes my upper eyelids/under brow burn and sting with pain and I'd always just assumed that was the price to pay to get it done. My favorite place to get my eyebrows threaded. Make sure you tell them you want an arch if you want to keep/have an arch. It's hard for them to know what shape you want unless you tell them. All the ladies here are very nice, my favorite is Loksmir (not sure how you spell her name). Also, it is the cheapest place I've found in the area... $7 cash or $8 if you use MC or Visa. Unfortunately, each time I leave I'm left with a different shape/uneven brows. I've only had a good experience one time. I must say that I am one of those extremely picky women that does not trust just any hairstylist, eyebrow technician, etc. I gave Chandni's a try and I must say I am more than pleased with the results. The technician respected my wishes to keep my brows thick and removed only "one line" from the lower brow at a time to ensure I was happy with the thickness.
