    CHICKEN BLT
    Matthew D.

Stopped in today for the first time I was mostly impressed. The location is clean, expansive, and has a large and convenient parking lot. I liked that a lot because parking can be a pain in Providence. I ordered a soda, tater tots, and the chicken BLT. My significant other had the brownie shake, regular fries, and Cajun burger. Overall I paid $41 which was a fair price. The food came out quickly and I was mostly impressed. Tots were nice and crispy and the chicken tasted fresh. I thought the sandwiches would have been a little larger but wasn't displeased with the size. The owner was very friendly and even asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. However, he did ask us to leave a five star review "before we leave" three times as we were finishing up our food. There's nothing wrong with asking once but I started to feel a little pressured towards the end of our visit.

The milkshakes here are amazing!!! My kids say this place knows how to make a shake!

I usually agree with Yelp but in the case I didn't, to say I was disappointed is an understatement! We had the A-1 Steak Burger and Philly Cheesesteak, with a side of Chili/Cheese Fries and Fried Pickles. All of the Food was mediocre at best and the Size of the Burger and Cheesesteak were almost laughable. I don't think I'll be going back to Wayback Burger.

This was my first time trying wayback burgers & it was very pleasant. The service was fast, the place was clean (besides a couple of flies), and the food is cooked fresh. They have a decent variety of sides and burgers to choose from. They also have chicken sandwiches. The prices are reasonable as well for the portion sizes. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking and plenty of indoor dining seats. Good for a quick lunch or a quick dinner.

I went in yesterday for the first time. I've heard a lot of great things and wanted to try it so we popped on in for a burger last night. When we went in there was a big sign saying that if you signed up for text messages you could get a free milk shake, so I asked if we could do that prior to ordering and they said yes. We signed up for Text messages and when I showed them the code, they said that that wouldn't count. They took our entire order and then waited to tell us that it wouldn't count. So then I read the code and showed it to them and they said that they would not be giving us the milkshake. They were so unbelievably rude about it that I was confused. I try always to be super considerate, but this was intense. When I showed them that it said valid for in store they said they would not be honoring it. At that point we had already checked out so there was nothing to do. I asked if there was a way we could ask a manager if they would honor it, and he said he would not be asking a manager. so I asked if we could speak to a manager and he declined. It was so awkward. We just went and sat at the table. This was such an insanely rude experience I just had to write in. You guys should remove where it says in stores if that's not accurate. I asked him where it said we couldn't get it and he said it doesn't say it but they wouldn't be honoring it. It's not even about if they would honor it but how rude they were about it. Other than that: The plain cheeseburger was good but the Cajun burger was awful. The bacon was so underdone we had to remove it. Food took about 20 min to come out and the restaurant was fairly empty. By the time out food came out it was barely warm. Won't be back,

Phillips cheesesteak was really good. The milkshakes were super thick. The staff were attentive and friendly when we arrived and were super efficient. Would definitely go back

Great service, but that's about the only thing great about this place. My party and I had to wait about 20 minutes for our food (which isn't too bad) and it smelled delicious as we waited, but the food that came out was unimpressive. This "meal" was $27.39... and it be honest, absolutely mediocre. This place is not for me as I can't afford mediocre food. Also I felt like a specimen on a Petri dish with the lighting. Staff were amazing and clean restaurant overall.

Had a takeout order so didn't experience the vibe of this place. Food was pretty good. Barely had any cheese sauce on my bacon cheese fries so that was disappointing but the chili cheese dog made up for it.

The CNY potatoes just weren't it for us, there was a group of 4 and no one really cared for them, but if pepperoncini flavor is your thing go for it. The chicken sandwich was okay didn't have much flavor too it sadly. Atmosphere of track 15 is great and the girl at the counter was kind and friendly to us as well.

The rose tteokbokki was good. The sauce was creamy, mildy spicy, flavorful, and the rice cakes were chewy and good texture. There were some fish cakes and chopped herbs. The rainbow kong dog and ramen kong dog are always great. The outside layer is thick and crunchy. The mango lemonade was tangy and sweet (maybe a bit too sweet) at the same time. Regular customers not being able to come through as often. That doesn't sit right when it's a place like this. So we brought a few friends and made the trip to Smith Hill. One of them had never had a hot wiener in their life, which feels almost criminal around here. But also kind of perfect. Two all the way, fries, and a drink. There's no reason to complicate it. It is an aptly named "special." The wieners have just enough snap when you bite, but they give in easily as you chew. Great texture. Full flavor. The meat sauce is exactly what it's supposed to be. Savory. Seasoned. Unmistakably a Rhode Island original. Mustard across the top, just enough to cut through. Onions finely chopped and stacked high. Celery salt finishes it off. All of it in a soft, steamed bun that holds its own with flavor and experience. The fries were perfect. Exactly what you hope for at a place like this. Crisp. Golden. Salted perfectly. I didn't touch the shaker. Didn't need to. They get it exactly right on the first try. And yes, they've got coffee milk... on tap. That's not a bonus. That's an expectation when you're running the OG New York System spot. If you don't have coffee milk with your wieners are you really having the true experience? The guys working the counter were young, friendly, and patient. They smile. They explain things. They broke down what "all the way" meant. Just demonstrating pride in what they serve and appreciative of the patronage. And just as we were finishing up, one of the owners came out. She'd heard we had a first timer at the table and wanted to know what they thought. It wasn't a show. She really wanted to make sure the food hit right. She talked to every member of our party and took a genuine interest in who we were and how we got there. Inside, the place is spotless. Coral counters and black walls with chrome stools. A color scheme that somehow works. Digital menus overhead. Even though it's so fresh and clean, you do realize at all times that you're eating at a piece of Rhode Island's history, even though it's also quite modern now. And if we don't show up for places like this, they disappear. You'll wake up one day and the Old Canteen is gone and in its place, you've got Wally's Wieners. Neon signs. Cartoon branding. Hot dogs with dumb names. TikTok decor. Eight dollar ketchup. Branding dressed up like culture. If we let the originals die, we're complicit in the knockoff version that takes its place. So don't just talk about supporting local. Do it. Go to Baba's. Order the special. Sit down. Eat slow. And remember what real tastes like.

Having been around this long and operating at crazy hours that obviously cater to late night crawlers and drunken fools, you must have built some solid grit to be a dedicated feeding hole around a university/college town. The staff greeted me fondly as I walked through the door. If you've never seen this on TV or online before, you wouldn't have imagined a diner within a truck designed that way. You wouldn't have been able to tell the difference from them vs a small restaurant in a city. TV, lights, posters and everything anything restaurant that you expect was there...except for the chairs this particular night. I'm guessing they removed it to better handle crowds coming through...after all, too many people dining there, lining up, and trying to order food is a classic fire hazard 101 within such a small space. I am glad to have a chance to visit this time around. I've been wanting to try it for the longest time since seeing it on Man vs Food. However, I don't know why but I just wasn't craving a burger in the moment. Maybe if I did order the burger, this would have ended up as a 5-star review based on how most people rave about it. But for now, I'll glad to still say that I'm a true fan. The Haven Dog with celery salt was simple and a quick fixer-upper for anyone slightly hungry in the moment. The steak and cheese sandwich, however, is a loaded mother-f-fer with a LOT of sliced beef atop a TINY bun with some shrooms and peppers. All I could think about as I unwrapped it was someone trying a skinny jeans three sizes down, lol. Check them out!

I recently had my first experience with Polo Loco (I know, I'm a little late to the game). They were at the Jaws Movies on the Block screening last night, and I couldn't resist trying a couple tacos even though I'd TECHNICALLY already eaten dinner ;-) I tried the PBJ (pork, black beans, jalapenos, cheese, sweet chili sauce) and the Napalm (chicken, jalapenos, Napalm sauce, cheese, Southwest sour cream). Both tacos are a play on a well-known combo, and both are successful for an Americanized taco experience. First off, you have a choice of soft or hard tacos. I went with soft, and got these babies served on smallish flour tortillas. An authentic taco is served typically on corn, but flour is also quite tasty in this case. The PBJ is pulled pork sandwich meets taco. It has a slight sweetness from the sauce and the pork, with a bit of spice from the jalapenos. It's quite tasty, but also a bit drippy, so be careful :) The Napalm reminds me of Buffalo chicken. It's chicken and a spicy "Napalm" sauce which is pretty much a version of Buffalo sauce. The cheese and Southwest sour cream combine to remind me of blue cheese dressing without the actual blue cheese. That creaminess along with the Napalm sauce is definitely reminiscent of Buffalo chicken, and yields a very tasty taco. I see lots of love here for the Grande Tacos, and perhaps next time I'll try one of those. I also know the Green Monstah tacos are popular, and maybe when I'm hungrier I'll grab one of those too. I'd happily visit Poco Loco on future occasions. Although their tacos are not traditional Mexican in style, they are very tasty and satisfying. They're also very cheap at $2 a pop! Two thumbs up for sure!
