The drinks were great but the food was just okay. Although food was nothing special the restaurant had outdoor seating and a dim interior. Service was great!

This was a great stop for our first dinner in Providence. The atmosphere is quiet, warm and friendly. We did make a reservation, but ended up not needing it. The crispy shrimp was delicious. We ate it before I could snap a picture. I had the lobster pasta with amazing! My husband loved his bison burger too!

    Great bourbon selection.

If you are looking for a great spot near the financial district in downtown Providence look here. Great service and food. Pub atmosphere on a Friday night for dinner. Best beer and bourbon selection I have seen in downtown as we visit for NCAA games. If you are a bourbon drinker this is your spot. Great bourbon options, generous pours, and unbeatable prices. Highly recommend.

Fabulous family dinner before seeing Wicked at PPAC! Perfect experience! Ty!!!

Absolutley amazing surprise! Been dining in RI my entire life and never heard of this hidden gem. Group of 6 went last night before attending PPAC event and everyone was extremely happy with the vibe, the coziness, the service and the food! Great variety- something for everyone and each dish was perfect! Drinks also excellent. Will definitely be back!

We were in town for a sporting event and were looking for a place to eat between sessions. We got in very quickly, Food came out in a timely manner. Burgers were delicious. Calamari was probably the best we've ever had!

Walking around downtown between appointments on a cold day we needed a spot to thaw out. Congress, down a small side street, close to the Arcade, was an excellent refuge. Being an 'odd' hour of the day, between lunch and when work lets out, we were the first of a couple other parties to come in. Seating ourselves at the bar, the barkeep asked if we'd like to eat. We didn't have time for a meal, but did look over the menu and we plan to come back for food another time. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Reminiscent of a pub in the UK or Ireland. Chalk board menus of available spirits, above the windows, include scotch, bourbon, whiskey, rye, beer on tap and bottled. You 'should' be able to find something here to tempt you. There are two single bathrooms. Parking is on-street metered, paid lot or garage. In warm weather they offer outdoor seating. The staff we met were very personable. Prices are reasonable. We are definitely happy we stopped in.

Head out for a late night bite and Congress Tavern did not disappoint. The Blood Orange Margarita was delicious and my chicken parmigiana was perfect. The music was great and the NBA finals were on TV. Love the bar vibe and pleasantly surprised by the service and food!

Somehow, despite having lived here for years and spending plenty of time around downtown…read moreProvidence, I had never been to The Eddy. I'm honestly not sure how I missed it, because this is exactly the kind of place I like finding. It is the true definition of a small cocktail bar. The space is tiny, intimate, and has a very specific atmosphere, so if you're looking for a big place with plenty of tables, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a great cocktail in a cozy little bar, however, you're in the right place. The cocktail menu is excellent. There are a lot of creative options that go well beyond the standard collection of Old Fashioneds, Margaritas, and Martinis you'll find at most bars. The drinks are imaginative without becoming gimmicky, and the combinations we tried were really well balanced and interesting. You can tell there is some serious thought behind the cocktail program, and it makes ordering something new a lot of fun. Our waitress was fantastic as well. My wife ordered a drink that apparently isn't something every bartender is familiar with, so our waitress went back to the bartender to ask about it. The bartender immediately knew exactly what she was talking about, which was a nice little reminder that these people actually know their drinks. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy without hovering over us. The music deserves a mention, too. It was fantastic and fit the atmosphere perfectly. The Eddy has that comfortable, slightly dark cocktail-bar feeling where you can sit down, have a drink, listen to good music, and actually enjoy being there rather than feeling like you're sitting in a loud restaurant waiting for someone to bring you your check. My only real warning is that this place is genuinely small. That is part of its charm, but it also means getting in and finding a seat can be difficult at times, particularly when it's busy. You probably shouldn't show up with a large group expecting to immediately find a table. For two people looking for a couple of really good cocktails, though, it's pretty much ideal. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of the drinks. You're obviously paying cocktail-bar prices rather than dive-bar prices, but I didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Considering the creativity and quality of what we were drinking, I thought the prices were perfectly fair. I'm actually a little annoyed that I went this long without knowing The Eddy existed. Providence has so many cocktail bars that you can spend years here and still keep discovering places you've somehow walked past a hundred times. The Eddy is definitely going on the list of places we need to come back to, and we will 100% be back.

Veggie patty is crispy and filled with fresh veggies that still keep a crunch. There's plenty of seating, the lights are low and cozy, and the vibe is super chill. The music was really good and we pretty much sang the entire time we were there LOL. The guys behind the bar were great, super attentive and helpful without hovering. We all ordered burgers with fries, and honestly, they were exactly what we needed. Fresh, juicy, and perfectly done. We each got a beer too, and while the first round came out a little flat, the bartender immediately replaced them without hesitation and made sure our water glasses stayed full all night. For three people, the total came out to about $60, which was not bad at all for solid food, good service, and a laid-back spot to unwind after a long day. Definitely worth checking out if you want an unpretentious bar with good energy and even better burgers.

Most recently, I tried the "oyster shell martini" that featured gin, dry vermouth, riesling, oyster acid, & lemon oils. I loooove a savory, weird drink. I saw it & knew I needed to try it. Unfortunately, it was seriously imbalanced. It was wine heavy, with an extremely poisonous aftertaste that lingered forever & ever & ever. I would never order this again. Rock music played not too loudly in the background as we were served and as we looked at the menu. The menu is digital. I hate this. Maybe they had a physical menu, but we didn't ask. We grumbled amongst ourselves and scanned the QR code and used our phones. It might seem like a small thing, but I really, really hate using my own phone to look at a restaurant's menu while at sitting at the restaurant. Anyways, I digress. For drinks, we got the chai latte (with oat milk) and coffee. We ordered the Special Eggs Benedict (half portion, for one person) and the shakshuska. The coffee was good. I appreciate the attentiveness of our server and that they came to refill the coffee. I really like the chai latte and glad that they listed which one it is (Rishi Masala Chai). The egg benedict has a really thick homemade bacon. It is soft and falls apart readily, but was a tad too salty. The bread was a bit tough and too thick for our liking (maybe we should have read the description more carefully oops, because when they say thick they meant thick). The fries were tasty. There was just one egg for a $26 benedict. The shakshuka was my first time trying shakshuka! To me, it tastes pretty similar to chili. I really enjoyed its tangy tomato and spicy flavors. There were two eggs in it. Honestly, I think it would be better with like four eggs. Now, the garlic bread: the garlic bread was so good, so garlicky. The garlic bread was both of our favorite. Overall, good vibes and good food and good customer service.

It had a great variety of cheese and the dark chocolate with honey was some of the best chocolate I've ever had. We got the pea pasta for a main and the pasta was perfectly done, the sauce wasn't super flavorful for me. So I'd probably stick to other dishes off their Summer menu.
