Avocado Bacon Burger with lettuce and tomato

I came back to Shake Shack on Thayer Street recently. When you enter, there are 3 self-order kiosks in front of you. A staff member is also present at the counter and you can order with them if you prefer. I used the self-order kiosk and it was easy to use. I ordered a single Black Truffle Burger ($10.49), fries ($4.49), and a large Berry Cherry Pomegranate Lemonade ($5.49). My husband ordered the single Avocado Bacon Burger ($9.99) and added lettuce and tomato for no extra charge. We grabbed the table number next to the kiosk and our order was brought out to us. There are plenty of tables in the seating area. The Black Truffle Burger was so juicy, mouthwatering, and amazing. I'm a huge fan. When I was finished, I wanted more and next time, I'll probably order a double. The fries were as crispy and good as always. The Berry Cherry Pomegranate Lemonade was a little too sweet for me, but it had good flavor.

Not the best, not the worst. Shake shack is pretty standard across the board, but given that this one is on Thayer St, parking can be rather challenging. The first time I came here, the fries were overly salty, so I had to request no salt the 2nd time around. Good enough for a 2nd time, but mostly for a quick eat and being in the area. Employees are kind and respectful. Typical Shake Shack ambiance and clean. There are usually some nice deals on their app, e.g., free chicken sandwich on all Sundays through Dec 2024 with $10+ purchase, BOGO milkshakes, etc. So, it's worth it to download their free app and use their deals!

As fast food goes, Shake Shack is pretty good, and I was 2.5 miles into a walk on an 85 degree day, and a little hot and thirsty. I was near Thayer Street and opted to walk into Shake Shack. I ordered cheeseburger and fries. Service was prompt, the burger and fries arrived quickly, within a few minutes. So I assume my burger wasn't cooked to order. On this visit my burger was a little dry and tepid. The fries were hot, crispy and tasy, Overall, not great, not bad, three stars.

Recommendation: Order at the kiosk. Saves time. One star off because they never texted us when our order was ready. Food was delicious. I ordered the Shack Stack, which had a crispy-fried portobello mushroom on top fo the regular patty, spicy ranch crinkle-cut fries, and mango passionade. Classic, greasy, and delicious. The drink was okay; nothing to rave about. I also tried the Chicken Bites, which were okay. The restaurant is spacious, but I can see why many customers order to go based on location. Although Shake Shack is a bit pricey, the quality speaks for itself and it is really filling.

Great Shake Shack location! We ordered two single ShackBurgers, fries, and 6-count Chicken Bites. When the order was ready, a server brought a tray with our food over to our table! I didn't know that Shake Shack did this-- a pleasant surprise. Service was very nice. Food hit as always. The potato buns are soft and slightly crispy on the edge, tasty patty, and crispy fries. Not the cheapest fast food but really satisfying to eat. The only reason why I took a star off was because of the bathrooms. The bathrooms have a padlock on them, so I asked a staff what the passcode was. They wouldn't tell us the code, so they told me to wait for one of the staff to come over and unlock it. This was inconvenient and definitely not good for someone that really needs to use the restroom. So, definitely come here with an empty bladder. Otherwise, food was great.

Delicious burger and fast service. Love you the lemonade options they have. Plenty of sitting area with wooden tables and sports tv. The cleanliness of the bathrooms were disgusting

This is the second Shake Shack I have been to, the first in NYC. Parking is on the street which may be hard to find on Thayer street. We lucked out and go a spot right in front. When you enter, order and wait for your order on the right. To the left is a good size dining area with booths and tables. The rest room is approached from the dining room side, in between the order counter and dining room. This means you cannot see when your order is up from your table, so you need to stand and wait for it. A self serve counter in the dining area has things like napkins and condiments, and there is a place to get yourself tap water here as well. I tried the portobello mushroom burger which is a vegetarian burger substitute. The mushroom and other ingredients, like the cheese, are encased in a breaded shell which must be deep fried to cook. It has a crunch to it, and the melted cheese oozes. The chicken sandwich was beyond tiny. About the size of two and a half nuggets at most. Not much of a sandwich. The chocolate shake was super thick and fudgy. We really enjoyed that. The bathroom door has a cypher lock on it. You need to ask staff to unlock the door for you and have a receipt ready to show proof you are a customer. The floor in the hallway leading to the bathroom, and in the bathroom itself was a sticky mess. It looked like a half hearted attempt was made to mop it up but basically just spread the mess around. Tables are self bussed and we had to wipe ours down w/some napkins when we seated ourselves. Trash is over by the bathrooms where you can leave your tray.

Solid fast casual place in a great location right on Thayer. Insanely easy ordering system through their app or website. Only downside is I wish it gave you the option to write a note or say something like "no pickles." I probably won't be eating in the physical restaurant any time soon but I am always down for a burger & fries with a custard to enjoy after.

About 5 years ago we were in nyc and there was a shake Shack at our hotel, we loved it so much we ate there 3 times in 3 days Searching for burger places in providence, and too my surprise shake shack came up . Immediately after hearing that the family quickly agreed. We were happy to find they were as good as we remembered. The fries and shakes were awesome too. Place was clean and COVID precautions were well taken Only issue is parking, it's a busy street so you can't be shy, but service is quick

The weekdays are easier to get a table or bar seat. I love all the burgers, wings, hot dogs and shakes (Boozy or regular). Cons: I basically love everything on the menu EXCEPT the crinkle fries and the taco salad. (The crinkle fires I never liked but I am starting to see them more in some bars. They seem to not as crunchy as the regular fries and hold more grease including being more mushy then crunchy as mentioned before. The taco is like a Salsa salad which greens and Salsa. The taste is not bad but it becomes a wet salad). Pros: Everything else on the menu fantastic! My favorites: Turkey burger , mushroom burger, providence burger bar special, chili cheese hot dog, fried Mac and cheese, Strawberry Shake with a frozen fruit INCLUDING the Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. The only place I know can do hot dogs this great besides wieners from Olneyville and Babbas! Service: Incredible and friendly service. The bartender was friendly, though you could tell he was a little stressed. We then tried a few vegan sandwiches, but I couldn't figure out why the fries weren't automatically included. I mean, when you're ordering a vegan meal, I assumed fries would come as a standard side. The portion sizes for two were also a bit disappointing. The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but the burger was kind of lost under an overwhelming amount of sauce--even though I'll admit, the sauce was pretty satisfying on its own. Serving veganized versions of traditional pub fare, the food is excellent. I was especially pleased with the buffalo cauliflower bites. The breading was legit (and kind of reminded me of getting fried seafood by the sea as a kid). This was robust, crunchy, and flavorful - a far cry from the barely-covered-in-panko stuff I have gotten at other places. I had the Philly "cheesesteak," which was a tasty sandwich that really did riff on the old classic. My husband did a lettuce-wrapped truffle burger, and that might be the only place that I paused because absent the bun, you can see just how little the serving is. They also have sushi from the Make Out available, and I did a tomato tuna nigiri that was tops. I want to come back just for the sushi. The service was a little slow, but our server made a point to apologize thank us for our patience. She was just really busy, but she was also very upbeat and cognizant of making people wait. I don't often encounter many servers like that - she seemed to be legitimately happy to be there. They have a great beer selection, including plenty of draft, and they also have wine and cocktails available. First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening.
