The food and the kiosk need work. One the food, the classic burger had little to no seasoning on it and I needed salt to make it taste like anything. They will gladly give you an extra piece of Swiss cheese on your burger for another dollar 99. The kiosk it tells you there are 25 toppings to choose one and you must choose at least one. So for example, I chose mustard... as soon as I did a big red 'no' sign appeared over it (like no ghosts in Ghostbusters). So I decided that meant I should choose what I don't want , but I can only choose three that I didn't want. So after three tries I was about to walk out of there, but I was pretty hungry so I finally asked for a person to help me. usually when trying a place for the first time, I also got the fries, but they didn't look like anything special and I'm sure they weren't if they were anything like the Burger. A recommendation, if you choose to go there anyway, is that there is ketchup and mustard on the table in dispensers, so don't rely on them to not slather too much on....because they did and the bun was falling apart. This was my first time visiting a Wayback, so I can only speak to my single visit here. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that impressed with the service or the taste on my particular visit. I originally came here to take advantage of a promotion for National Burger Day (BOGO burgers). It would be a great opportunity to finally try a business that also participates in the Shop Voorhees program (a tax incentive for residents of the area to support local businesses). Although I didn't see any in-store signage about the National Burger Day promo, they did acknowledge it after I inquired. But when I tried to use my Shop Voorhees card, they said it didn't work on their machine. I explained that the card works at other retailers participating in the program, but they must manually enter the card number. Well, I was told that that doesn't work with their system, so okay, whatever. When I received my burgers, they were less juicy or flavorful than I expected. Especially in comparison to another burger restaurant I often frequent further down the road in Marlton. Approximately $9 for a nothing-special double patty sandwich is much higher than I would have preferred to have paid here, but inflation is likely to blame to some extent, I suppose. Either way, I'll stick with my usual burger place instead, which is a shame because I really wanted to support a local Voorhees business! read more

This was my first time at Wayback Burgers in years. I was prompted to stop as I was in the area running errands and got hungry. It was a spontaneous stop (I had no plans on stopping until I was pulling out of the parking lot). From what I remembered, the burger I had prior was big, loaded with toppings, and superior to a typical fast food burger. While the burger tasted somewhere between decent and good (definitely better than McDonalds, BK, Wendy's, etc.) I was a little underwhelmed. The onion ring on my Bourbon Bacon burger was soggy and the bacon wasn't crispy. The medium order of fries came with more than expected and I am a big advocate of malt vinegar on my fries as they have available here. The fries were crispy but also underwhelming flavor wise. It came to right under $15 after tax between the burger and fries which I couldn't really justify for what I was served. My wife and I have been eating at this establishment about one to two times a month, so obviously we found the food to be to our liking. Unfortunately, we'll no longer feel comfortable eating there, after our experience this evening. I dispensed ice into my wife's soda cup, and then filled the cup with Sprite. When the bubbles subsided, I found five or six small, black particles floating in the cup. They were roughly the size of parsley flakes. In my experience as an insurance adjuster, my gut told me it was particles of mold. No, this is not my expertise, nor were the particles tested. However, at the very least, there's an issue of failed cleaning methods. Here's the underlying problem that will not allow us to ever return again. When I brought this problem to the owner's attention, they simply told me to not use the ice dispenser. While that was already obvious to me, in the next five minutes or so, I witnessed two other people dispense ice into their cups. I immediately went ballistic and made a scene, confronting the owner once again. After all, don't the patrons that come after me deserve to know the machine is dirty; and quite possibly, dangerous? I am a huge Wayback Burgers fan, been going to them in general for years, back when they were Jake's Wayback. This location I hate to say should probably be shut down. Or the current ownership changed. This place is straight up in disrepair. Ceiling was leaking, tables don't get cleaned, the grill area and behind the counter were super sketchy. Rags and grease on the ground and the grill had bits of cooked food that weren't cleaned off. I waited to see if they were going to scrape down the grill before putting on my order and they didn't even bother. I saw some other reviews talking about mold in the ice machine and I 100% believe it. They don't care to do the little things of keeping the place clean and presentable. I'm surprised more people aren't getting sick eating here, because it's bound to happen with the lax food safety conditions. It's a shame cause this is the closest location to my house and I like to go occasionally because I do love the Wayback burger, but I won't be going back here unless something gets changed. read more

Filthy store. Every table had giant nasty bottles of ORANGE ketchup with weird air bubbles in it. It absolutely looked like it had gone bad. The caps were all ripped off seemingly by a feral animal, so they were all sitting open exposed to air in old plastic bottles all covered in dried ketchup and greasy fingerprints. SKETCHUP! Random other condiments were in mismatched store-brand bottles with half ripped labels. The tables and floors were somehow both simultaneously sticky and greasy and just generally gross. The women's bathroom had no toilet paper. Maybe the food was good?...oh friend, no. The food was emphatically not good. The cherry coke was not cherry coke. I have no idea what it was, but I couldn't drink it. My impossible burger melt took almost 30 minutes (even though there were no other customers ahead of me) and my partner's food came out 20 mins after mine (and we needed to ask about it twice and got some mumbles in response). Once it came, he reported that his food was also not very good. My veggie burger was covered in flecks of grill meat and I'm vegetarian so I didn't even try to eat it. My mistake for ordering at all when I saw the state of their cleanliness. I ordered "O-fries" but just got onion rings. When I asked about it the guy who took my order said "you can't get o-fries as a combo" okay....that's fine, but why did you ask me if I wanted to make it a combo when I ordered them then?! Lol. a manager did overhear this and came over to throw some fries on my tray. When I left I saw a line of several delivery drivers milling around wondering why none of their pickup orders were ready. In all I spent $15 on this and threw my food and drink in the trash. This place used to be real good, I think it changed hands at some point, because there's a noticeable difference. I stopped in for a burger and the kitchen was in deplorable condition. There were fries mashed into the floor and the legs of the fryers were literally immersed in a coagulated pile of grease. This place should be shut down as I'm sure there are numerous health code violations. In one word, "Amazing", and I'm not that into burgers. But everything they make is so delicious and top quality. Nothing is greasy or slapped together like at fast food restaurants. The burgers were tiny, to the point that 1/3 of the bites didn't even include meat. The patty literally only took up half of the area of the buns. I'm not sure if they were messed up, or if this is just the size of the burger Patties. It was unacceptable. The meat that was there was barely seasoned and not very flavorful. Husband said 4 stars, I said 4.5. This was my first time at Wayback and I had the veggie burger. It was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of toppings. We had the tater tots and they were excellent. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They remained hot until we ate them which was about 15 minutes from restaurant to home. My husband had the double bacon burger, his way. It was cooked perfect and had great flavours. The staff was polite and our order did not take long at all! I have always wanted to jump in and try Wayback Burgers. I finished up some shopping and decided to give it a shot. The wait wasn't too long. The inside has similar seating capacity as FiveGuys. I ordered the Rodeo burger. The burger was exceptional. The bun was fresh, two juicy patties, crispy onion ring, and mild BBQ sauce. The only thing that took away the final star was the price. Really simple fix on this one. If you advertise Heinz ketchup, give the person Heinz ketchup. May not be a big deal to you, but I couldn't eat anything I ordered. The food here is OK but no one is in any kind of a hurry so don't come too hungry because you'll wait even when they are not busy. The burgers are thick and juicy no doubt but they are also in same league as Five Guys in the grease department. Sure, they have a whole bunch of different burgers but at the core it's still the same very greasy "just okay" burger being covered over with various different topping combinations. The fries are thick but go cold really fast. Speaking of the fries, it also sucked that our fries were served about ten minutes after our burgers. That was due to the staff devoting all fries to a large group order that was being picked up. We ordered before they called their order in yet we were over half way done with our burgers before our fries finally made an appearance because of their order. Nice. The best part of the whole meal were the milkshakes at the end. But then again, if you follow the script on making those how can you screw that up? Another major strike was that the drink area was a mess. No straws, maybe three our four lids along with soda splatter all over the counter. Also let's not forget the two garbage cans that were filled and the metal plates that they serve the food to you on that were piled sky high as well. Yick! This Jake's was really a let done all the way around. The store was dirty and the fries in particular took a comically long time to come.
