So what do you do on Easter Sunday when you're hungry...??? You search out a place that's open. So I tried gouldsburger in haddonfield a "premium" cheesesteak shop. I've tried hamburgers from here previously but never a cheesesteak. So I ordered a cheesesteak with cooper sharp cheese and fried onions. The onions chopped very small and hardly there. First impression was that they really chopped this meat up into almost ground beef consistency. The meat was very tasty and the cheese totally melted throughout. First bite I thought well it's very good but what's all the hype about?? The roll was tasty but seemed very dense and had some sort of seasoning that I could not identify. The cheesesteaks are incredible, but not worth the lack of upfront customer service. Yesterday, I placed an online order that apparently didn't go through to their system, but my card was charged. My husband went to pick it up, and they told him they did not have the order, but would get it started for him while he sorted out the issue on our end. Twenty minutes went by and the staff did not check in with him the entire time. During that time I discovered there was no confirmation email and my card had been refunded. Finally, a staff member asked him "did you get that confirmation number?" My husband told him no and that my card had been refunded so he was ready to pay for the order. The staff member said "we'll get it started for you then." So my husband waited there for 20 minutes while they weren't even cooking the food. The employee handling this mix up should have had a transparent conversation initially that they do not cook food without a ticket. The situation should have been sorted out immediately so a customer isn't waiting around like that expecting the food to be done, when they hadn't even started it because they assumed he needed 20 minutes to search for a confirmation number. We didn't have 20 more minutes to wait for this order, so my husband had to walk out without his birthday cheesesteak! This isn't even the first time we've had issues with the wait time here, which is why we tried to order in advance online. We wouldn't try this location again, but would visit another. read more

Heard about this place and the cheesesteaks, so I had to stop by during the Haddonfield festival. I grabbed a cheesesteak with fried onions and cheese fries (with sauce on the side). For some reason I figured my partner and I could share one steak. I'm glad I took that gamble (I'll explain later). The wait for the order was maybe 15 mins, which wasn't bad. Because we already had a table at the Brewery nearby, we grabbed the food the food to go. Upon diving into what looked to be a completely packed roll, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Cooper Sharp was mixed in perfectly with the steak. The onions were soft and tender along with the steak. The everything roll took the cake for me. I am a huge fan of anything that has "everything." I was so happy I only had half of the sandwich bc it was huge!! I saved room for some fries too. The fries were crispy and cooked nicely. What I enjoyed most about the cheese fries was the cheese. We were in the area and was in the mood for a cheesesteak. We headed over to this little shop. It is pretty small inside, as it looks like it is designed mainly for takeout. There are counters on each side but very limited seating. We did find a spot, but it was so cold that day, it was so cold inside to eat. We went with the prime beef cheesesteak and the truffle fries. The counter service is pleasant and quick. It was busy the entire time we were there with calls in for takeout and people coming in to pick up their orders. Our orders came up pretty quick. The homemade seeded rolls were good. I don't think I have had a cheesesteak roll that has had poppy seeds on them, but was good. The meat was a good amount and sliced just right. I don't like it too thick. We got it the way it was on the menu with cooper sharp, but we didn't get the fried onions. There was a good amount of cheese, and you really didn't need ketchup for the cheesesteak. The fries were plentiful for two people! They were crispy and hot. For me it was a tad too much truffle, but that is me, I know I don't like too much. My boyfriend really enjoyed them a lot. Very good meal. Would love to try their burgers next time. read more

We finally got the chance to try Gouldsburgers in Haddonfield last night on a Saturday night, and we absolutely loved it. We were a block away at Kings Road Brewery having a beer and decided to get takeout. Easy walk over to Gouldsburgers where there was no line so I was able to order right away, then come back 15 minutes later to pick it up. They have a few seats available inside the restaurant, with some outdoor seating in warmer weather, but we brought the food back to Kings Road to eat there. I got the Smokehouse Burger, my girlfriend got the Forager Melt, and we shared the Truffle Fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly, thick and juicy, and the fries were out of this world. There are other places to get a burger in Haddonfield, but this is the only place that specializes in them, and it really shows. Owners Walter Gouldsbury and David Murray are slowly taking over the South Jersey food scene. Gouldsburgers has three other locations in Medford and Philly, and apparently franchise opportunities are available. Gouldsbury and Murray also own the sandwich place Crumb, which itself has multiple locations, and they recently opened the upscale Italian Trattoria Umile in Haddonfield. These guys obviously know what they are doing when it comes to food. Try this place for your burger cravings, you won't be disappointed. read more

This is a newer spot in Haddonfield (opened about a year ago) and we've been wanting to try it for months. As with most spots in Haddonfield it's pretty small on the inside and best to enjoy when you can comfortably enjoy their outside seating. The wait staff was friendly and you can see all the action in the kitchen which I always like. The food was solid. I liked the buns they use for their burgers/sandwiches, very fresh and good flavor. I enjoyed their burger, but it was a little on the greasy side for me, I think it could've benefited from resting a few more moments before being plated to allow all the grease and blood to drain off and avoid the pooling like you see in the picture. The hot chicken sandwich was really flavorful and crispy which I enjoyed, but again, just a little greasy for me. It made all of the food a little heavier than I would've liked. The fries and onion rings were also solid. Overall, I'll definitely be eating here again and I think with some tiny tweaks it could be really fantastic! read more

1st time at Gouldburgers. I bought their Prime ribeye cheesecake with Cooper Sharp and fried onions. Very delicious on a scale from 1 to 10 I would say an 8.7. Angelos is still the gold standard but solid cheesesteak delicious seasoned quality beef, cheese creamy and delicious Everything bagel roll. The Truffle fries were decent with a delicious aoli but the fries themselves need to be thinner so the truffle oil flavor with the parmesan can resonate. Very crispy though and still good. I recommend 100% and will be back. Only drawback is parking lol read more

Wow.... I'm always a hunt for juicy, generous cheesesteaks, and Gouldsburger's $15 prime rib cheesesteak hit all the right notes. Definitely among the top two choices I've ever had. Cooper sharp cheese is my favorite topping. And the lovely seeded roll was just an extra touch of perfection. We split the cheesesteak between two of us and it was just the right amount of food. Walked into this small business and immediately greeted with a smile. The counter service was great. He made sure my gluten free needs were met. Recommended the hot chicken sandwich. Was suggested this place by a friend and stopped by one day while in town. I was a little nervous because as a vegetarian, the meatless substitutes aren't up to par with the meat options, but my mind was blown!! The portobello mushroom cheesesteak was out of this world. This was a takeaway order of two smokehouse burgers, an order of onion rings, and an order of fried pickles. We were sorry we didn't just go to McDonald's. Sour and salty were the overwhelming flavors on the whole meal. The burgers and the buns were dry, and the weird, gritty breading on the onion ring topping the burger added no flavor. Abundantly present was a BBQ sauce with a heavy vinegar flavor that read as sour - as far from Smokey as you could get. The pickles had little to no breading and were inconsistent in their crispness. The sauce that accompanied them had kind of a film around the cup - not appealing to look at. The pickles were super salty, and without any kind of breading to break down the saltiness, they were hard to eat. We had high hopes for the onion rings, because they looked crispy and beautifully breaded. But the breading was grainy and had an unpleasant mouth feel. To make matters worse, they had no flavor. First off--This review is for takeout. Could be different if you eat in. The menu is pretty limited and there is not much variability in how you can order items. We got cheesesteaks and hamburgers. I ordered my hamburger medium but it arrived medium rare. Not sure how it was cooked--did not appear to be grilled. All in all, it was ok but not as good as a recent Shake Shak. The cheesesteak had a lot of cheese but not enough onions. The roll was seasoned like an everything bagle--which really threw me. Couldn't you have normal italian rolls for people who don't like that seasoning? Maybe it is all the high ratings and other comments, but I was disapointed. Still it was fine, in kind of a mid way. He said it was hands down the best he's ever had AND he has had A LOT! My bacon cheeseburger was perfectly cooked and so juicy! Truffle fries are not usually my thing but even those were top notch. Had to finally stop by Gouldburger's after hearing a bit about it. Grabbed the steak & burger since it is a burger spot and would only be fitting to evaluate. The place is small and extremely busy. I got our order to go and ate it in the car right outside for a fair evaluation. The burger was just okay. Not cooked pink as ordered. The onion rings adoring the burger were very limp and odd flavored. I did overhear the batter is gluten free so perhaps that is the reason. Meat was flavored well and bacon crisp just as it should be. For the cost to size ratio was not great. The in house bun was decent. Not my favorite burger for sure. The steak was very well presented and looked great. A very unique house made roll but it is not for a steak I would say. Fell apart easily and was a very odd choice. I did appreciate what they were trying for. First few bites were not bad. The orange cooper sharp had a strong flavor and there was plenty of it but soon became too gummy and gelatinous, and after the first half was eaten the meat on the second half was not chopped well and really turned me off. I tried the Forager melt, ordered a hot dog for the wife and got the kids cheeseburger for my son. Also got some sides, onion rings and fries. I guess I'll give them another try but it didn't live up to my expectations. The fries were a bit soggy and the Forager didn't wow me. Also my son's burger was extremely salty. For the kiddo, we got the kids cheeseburger, which came with fries. Even though the burger is made for a 2 1/2 year old, it was juicy! For the vegetarian wife, she got the portobello mushroom cheesesteak. She thoroughly enjoyed it! The bill (before my generous gift card) came to $63 and changed, which I think is super fair for all the food we got. Just a heads up, this spot has some counters along both sides of the walls and a table or two outside, so it is better suited for takeout but definitely space inside to eat in. Always skip the fries, service was good and place is small with some seating available outside with counter top service inside for about a dozen people. Burgers looked pretty good next we will order some burgers and check out the rest of the menu and did also see chicken sandwiches on the menu.
