As soon as I walked in, I wondered why it had taken me so long to check it out. Located in an old warehouse, CMI doesn't have that warehouse feel. A good size room, filled with hand-braided rugs and baskets, the place is cheerful and inspiring. Even though I wasn't looking to buy anything, I just couldn't resist purchasing a Pawtucket rug (made from scraps of fabric) and a basket (perfect for storing those odds and ends). The staff were friendly and helped with moving rugs, giving the background to how they are made, and helping to roll them up for take away. While I was there during a huge sale, it seems that even the normal prices are pretty reasonable, as it was, I got a full area rug for less money that my IKEA rug cost me. And it is more beautiful, better made, and local. S This place has been there for 20 years, and is still a hidden gem.

Despite some of the prices, other stuff is great value, and they have excellent service, judging by what we received on the only occasion we've been in here. We didn't buy anything but we were still treated like royalty.

I bought a floor turbo fan for $30.00. They sell some really nice rugs plus bath, bed & kitchen items, super cheap car items like windshield wipers and seat covers, yard items and more! The staff is friendly and you can see they work hard so treat them nice---they're helpful and accommodating (hope it stays that way). Every Thursday is when the new stock comes in. They give 15% off coupons on their rewards program. I take a trip there weekly to discover great bargains--especially on books, toys and food! I went in that next morning and there it was in all its beauty and from Roz ,the owner, another pleasure ,learned of its pedigree and closed out the deal-no bait and switch here. They "cleaned" and held the rug for months, didn't repair anything, and then told me it was beyond repair but they could spray paint the badly damaged areas. I picked up the rug and brought it straight to Koko Boodakian, where they not only thoroughly and properly cleaned the rug, but hand-repaired the rug in-house, all in much less time than it took the other place. Color and pattern matching is excellent. And Sager, my main contact, was fantastic. The rug may not be perfect but it's pretty close. Thank you Sager and Koko for saving a very special carpet for me! I know who to trust with my carpets.

The owner has immense knowledge about each rug and is a trusted rug appraiser. I have bought few rugs from this place. Each rug is a unique piece and represents a different design and culture. All handmade and from wool, cotton and other organic materials. I got my last rug when I was in Ohio. The owner sent me images of a collection all with very affordable prices. He shipped the rug to my address with no hassles. I received the rug and immediately saw an upgrade to my apartment and everyday life. Feels great to walk on a piece of art made from organic wool material. Of course these rugs last hundred of years and are sustainable with no plastic in them.
