Sounded a litle bogus…read morebut the assured me they strive to be a good animal hospital. i did my first visit, fine, second fine, third apparently had to be a special visit i wasnt aware of, i didnt have enough money for the visit. i felt embarrassed i tried to cancel and they wanted to fine me. I only received the reminder that day and was caught off guard that it wasnt a tech visit. it was just for a vaccine, this was all from my confusion. Im a new customer. I tried to speak to their doc but they wouldnt let me. They developed an opinion about me and wouldn't help me anymore they clammed up. I wrote them a fair review, and they sent me an email telling me to seek services else wear, now i went here to make this review. I have a bad attitude, my life's hard. I cant be the patient one all the time. I know its hard to find good employees but maybe a reminder that there their to help the customers couldn't hurt. the office could of tried to call and explain why i shouldnt feel poor over this but they chose to let me go instead. Some people work with animals because they cant deal with people im guessing thats what this is.

PET PARENT BEWARE!! I have been taking my cats (2) for wellness exams and vaccines to Dr K for…read moreabout 14 years. Never had an issue until I brought my one cat to be treated for an ear infection. Dr. K prescribed an ear cleaning solution and antibiotic ointment to put in the ear. After weeks of following the Drs instructions, my cat's ear started bleeding. I called the vet to tell them this and asked if I could bring him in. They refused to take him and told me to email pictures, after which they told me to continue with the antibiotic ointment. The bleeding did appear to clear up a little, but then I started to see my cats third eyelid. I questioned the vet, which he said this was not related to the inner ear infection and was a symptom of his feline herpes virus flare, and I should continue administering antibiotic ointment in the ear. My cat was treated for feline herpes virus before I got him. He would have occasional flares when stressed, but I never saw his third eyelid come down during one of his flares, so this seemed odd to me. But I trusted Dr. K for 14 years, so I followed his instructions. A few weeks later, my cat started experiencing neurological symptoms - head tilt, walking off balance/stumbling, tremors. Brought him back to the vet, turns out his ear infection had turned into a severe inner ear infection, ruptured his ear drum, and potentially spread to his brain. Dr. K prescribed oral antibiotics, and told us to "check in with him in a few days". I decided to take my cat to a different vet for a second opinion. The new vet said it was the worst ear infection she had ever seen, and was baffled that Dr K 1) did not initially take ear cultures to determine what bacteria was present in the ear and 2) did not prescribe oral antibiotics for that particular bacteria. She also stated that antibiotic ointment in the ear is a rather "antiquated" form of treatment, and usually ends up making things worse. Long story short, the new vet did everything she could to fight this ear infection for a little over a month, but unfortunately nothing was working. Due to the severe infection, his herpes virus began the severely flare and his symptoms started taking over and shutting down his body. My poor little guy was experiencing so much pain and suffering that we ended up putting him down in the beginning of April. This was something that could've been totally avoidable if Dr K had recommended a different form of treatment. I trusted Dr K & Pequannock Animal Hospital for 14 years, but after this experience, I will be finding a new vet to take my other cat to. I hope this reaches as many pet parents as possible and hopefully will prevent anyone else from experiencing the pain and suffering both my fur baby and myself experienced

Facility seems to have changed…read more In the past, i have brought feral cats that have been run over and they were always very helpful and sympathic and did not charge. Not so today. This poor baby was dead but somewhat mutilated and I could not leave in the street. Called here and they said I could have an appointment tomorrow. Said that would not work. They finally said to come in. Tech checked for chip, first it was yes, then it was no. They charged me for a communal cremation $247. I asked if they could clean it up a little, so I could take a picture to show to rescues. They would not. I don't mind paying for cremation, but called other vets...they charge $60. Don't know if it's under new management, but I would not be bringing my cats there. Feral lives might not matter to them, but they matter to many of us. ‍

Our cat, Hamilton, suddenly lost his balance and could barely stand. Our vet determined it was his ears and referred us to Animal Dermatology in Wayne, NJ. Who knew a dermatologist handled ear infections? Hamilton had a severe inner ear infection in both ears and was missing his right eardrum. Dr. Inga gave us the choice of using medications to see if that would help Hamilton or a video otoscopy procedure, which requires anesthesia. Since this has been an ongoing issue with our boy, we opted for the video otoscopy. She thoroughly explained the process and gave us the choice to bring in an outside anesthesiologist or have them do it. We opted for the anesthesiologist. We were given an estimate showing the low-end cost and the high-end cost. The procedure went well! Dr. Inga flushed out the infection and removed polyps. Hamilton was on steroids and antibiotics for weeks after, and his balance returned, and we could tell he was much more comfortable.
