We hiked through the entire North Prong Trail which totaled about 7 miles and it was truly gorgeous. There were some difficult moments at points, but nothing I couldn't do. The weather was nice, there was plenty of parking to head into the trails, and I had a great time. The Canyons are absolutely stunning and mesmerizing know this is hidden away in Texas. Loved this RV Park! Very clean sites. Shade trees on most…read moresites. They have pull-thru or back-in available. The rec room has books, movies, and games. Showers are updated and one of the best I've seen in a long time. Laundry is available ($1.75-wash 75¢-dry). The pool is clean and perfect for a swim after a long day. Most sites don't have grills, but there are a few that do. They have grills you can use that are behind the main office and next to the pool. Airport is across the highway, but you cannot hear airplanes or highway noise inside your camper. Several long term campers, but they are super nice and always offer a smile and wave from their clean and well-kept sites. Karen, in the office, is super sweet and welcomed us as if we'd been there a million times. I would highly recommend and have placed it on my list of RV parks to use should I come back through Lubbock.

The grassy areas at , and near our site (119) were covered in sticker burrs. We weren't aware, so when we arrived and took our dogs out, their paws were immediately covered in painful burrs, as were the bottoms of our shoes. For the rest of our one night stay, we carried the dogs to an area nearby without burrs. Management: it is so simple to treat for sticker burrs. Be aware that for overnight you will probably be in the area without any trees. Brutal heat without shade. No picnic table. Good: Large sites. Easy ingress/egress. Pleasant staff, easy check in.

During extended dry periods the lake all but disapears but it's great when the lake is up a few feet.

Showers are quarter machine operated for water conservation purposes. $0.50 for 3 minutes. I splurged an extra quarter for 4.5min and due to tough and dirty Army training, I ended up enjoying a high pressure extra 2 minutes of pure watery delight. So if you can combat shower, you'll be just fine with 2 quarters. :) Wrote the top portion upon arrival at night. Taking a star due to how darn dirty the place was. Trash EVERYWHERE even though the site had 2 large barrel trash cans :( Stupid, dirty people. Pics attached. Wear shoes and be careful using the trails down to the water due to so much glass.

I've passed by this little city park a dozen times, always on my way to someplace like Dallas, or…read moreDickens. Finally I decided to stop and take a look. It turns out that they have five full RV hookups. You can camp for two nights free, and for $10 per night afterward. The RV sites are just gravel, but you look into the park, which has large trees, a playground, and a walking track. It's a quiet park, although you can hear some highway noise. I heard coyotes one night. The park also abuts a small llama farm. The best part is that you can easily walk into downtown Crosbyton, which has an unusual and attractive county courthouse, which was the site of a pretty ghastly double murder in 1923. There is also the Crosby County Pioneer Museum which is a far above average local museum, which has regular hours. If you want to learn more about this unique area, this is one of the places to go. It's great walking around on the back streets. The park is quiet, and quite safe. If you want a quiet few days away, a mere 36 miles from Lubbock, this is a good place to go. Alert: There are no toilets or showers.

There's also plenty of pull-offs for picture opportunities. For ones that like hiking, there's plenty of that there. I'm not big into hiking, and I also didn't pack to do so. Lol. There is cave you see from the road, and if you want you can do a short hike to it. I wasn't on planning really hiking anywhere but this was short enough. Easy to get up, going down you have to be a lil careful. Good place for pictures too. Camping ground are available too.
