I cannot say enough wonderful things about my stay at the Hitchin' Post! I stayed in one of the cabins for several weeks and it was a great experience. The cabins are cozy, well-maintained, and have everything you may need for your stay. They are roomy enough for multiple people and come equipped with a full kitchen. There is a large porch outside every cabin and a fire pit for those cool summer nights. The grounds are large and have plenty of space for camping tents, RVs, and kids/dogs to run around in. Page, Lori, and Gary (the owners) were such a pleasure to visit with. They are incredibly kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. It really felt like staying with family. I cannot recommend it enough! Brand new still under construction RV park. Going to be nice once they get finished. A little pricy in my opinion but aimed at people traveling through working. Also will have a water park next door eventually and has cabins for rent. Once they get some grass growing and some Trees planted this will probably be the best spot to camp in this area. There is quite a bit of highway noise but if they put up a fence or maybe some trees that should decrease. If your passing thru definatly a good spot to stop. read more

This is the tail end in f a two week road trip across the Southwest. We had planned on going to Palo Duro but our timing was off and ended up having dinner in Amarillo. It was about 9 when I called several RV parks in the area and Page was the only one who answered. She told me how far we were and that we could take any available slip. She didn't ask for a credit card, just asked me to leave the info in an envelope at the office. I haven't seen that level of customer services from at any of the other parks (and most were great). We got here at midnight and found a slip. When we drove in, the place looked a bit "rustic". How pleasantly surprised I was at the "washroom". Immaculate, spacious, welcoming! Nothing sterile about it. No harsh rules. Just common courtesy. The gender neutral bathrooms were massive! I hope someday to be back here. I totally recommend it to anyone. Very convenient to highway. It's the best place to spend the last night of a great vacation. Finally, I'm embarrassed to sway this. When I picked up the envelope she had written a greeting in the chalkboard. It was something very nice. Although it's only been half an hour later, and I can't remember the words. But, I still feel the feeling of warmth it gave me. And, that is even better. Thanks so much!! read more

New RVrs and we have seen quickly Hitchin Post RV site is very well kept RV park. We love the secure large dog run where our 4 legged kids can run, sniff, etc. Excellent, new, private bath and shower with onsite coin laundry available. Can't ding them for the geographic location, Plainview, TX is very well named. If you are in the area and you need a great place to hang your hat, wash up, and let the dogs run. The person who helped us was super friendly, even giving us a dozen fresh eggs. We rented a campsite and a cabin for one night. The cabin was super cute. Clean and well appointed. The campsite was also clean and pretty level. The roads and sites were made with chunks of asphalt and concrete. I think it was recycled road waste. It was a little hard to walk on. The bathhouse was clean and cutely decorated. There were a few machines for laundry. We signed a code of conduct which we liked. There was a slight odor of the local industry. Other than the nearby road it was really quiet. And that didn't bother us because we were so tired. We would stay here again. read more

What a nice place and it's brand spanking new!!! We were created by really nice people, it is a family run place. We got a pull threw site with full hookups. The bath house clean big shower stalls, clean restrooms and big laundry room. It has a big porch on the back for sitting in the shade in the cool of the afternoon. The bad part is there putting up a water park nextdoor and when it open you will need to make a reservation months in advance. A little close to the HWY but we sleep just fine. This place is so cute and inviting. My mom and I stopped here for the night on our way to Ft. Hood and we're so comfortable. We stayed in one of the cabins/tiny houses. It was so clean and had all the comforts of home. When we were shown to our cabin for the night we were given fresh eggs for the next morning, if we wanted to make breakfast. We loved our stay here last weekend! We had planned on staying in our RV as we were traveling to Plainview for our granddaughter's college graduation, however, the weather was bad on the trip up so called and asked if we could rent the cabin, instead of the RV spot. They were VERY easy to make this change. We loved the cabin. The bathroom was so clean and the bed was comfy with clean bedding. It far exceeded our expectations. They gave us some fresh farm eggs which we had for breakfast the next morning. I would certainly come here again when in the area!!!! read more

Best RV park I have ever stayed. They treat you like family and will you out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Propane on site makes our stay much more convenient. They also have a dog park which made my dogs very happy because they get to run around off their leashes. Reasonable prices and nice grounds. The bathhouse was a lifesaver when the camper water was too cold to shower in. I would definitely recommend you stay here. read more

I would absolutely recommend The Hitchin' Post RV Park and Cabins to all friends, family and anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay. It is a brand new beautiful facility. The staff was very friendly. Like another reviewer mentioned, I too had great customer service experience. Clay was quick to return a call very late at night and was willing to accommodate any of our needs. I did find humor in his choice of attire at greeting us in the early morning hours. This is probably because I am a girl that wears mud boots and pajamas to early morning outside chores. ;) This is a charming place with charming people. read more

Very nice RV park. The restrooms are immaculate and very spacious. When you enter the wash house using the code they give you during checking, you will find near-new coin laundry machines and a change machine. And there are multiple private restrooms in the wash house, each with a private, lockable entry door leading to a nice, spacious room equipped with private toilet, sink, shower, paper towels, etc....so clean you might think you're the first guest to ever use it! We were given 9 fresh eggs when we arrived, and as I walked my dog around the gravel roads, we came to the chicken coup where I'm sure the fresh eggs are gathered each morning. The only reason I'm giving this RV park 4 stars and not 5, is I personally prefer a bit more distance between the highway and the campsites. We heard some traffic passing by in the evening but not a lot. If you're in this part of Texas, wanting a place to get a good night's sleep followed by fresh eggs for breakfast and a nice hot shower in an immaculate restroom, this is the place!! read more
