Hi I brought this from your store yesterday Jan 12, 2025 in the afternoon. After eating with my family for dinner we realized it tasted different and looked at the expiration date and it said it alreday expirated in 5/17 of 2023, so we threw it away. I really like the store so I'd appricate if you guys could please make sure to check the foods regularly in the future. And replace your products if needed so this doesn't happen again. I'd walked by this place several times when I had business in Burien, and never gotten around to checking it out. From the street it doesn't look like much, but...Wow! All the produce is really good quality, and great prices. It's actually quite large, and also has a great selection of Asian items as well as Mexican and Middle Eastern basics, plus a fresh fish area. Nice people too; I think I may have just found my favorite produce market in the SW Seattle area. read more

This little international market has all of the ingredients to make authentic dishes. Also their fresh veggies last a long time in my fridge unlike other larger grocery chains. The price is always low for quality food. Highly recommend. read more

I really like Waynes for certain fruit, ginger, turmeric, and Asian produce that you can't find at safeway or fred meyer. Also sesame oil, soy sauce, chili sauces, canned exotic fruits and coconut milk are much less expensive here. But that's about as much as I'll get here. I ventured into the meat/frozen section one time only and will never do it again. I bought some refrigerated quail eggs. They looked and smelled good but I cooked them into an omelette and ended up with food poisoning for the next 3 days. Only one other time in my 33 years of existence have i regretted eating something so much. That being said, it is a decent store if you make sure you pay attention to what you're purchasing. Well, you get what you ask for in Burien, right? In order to get to larger Asian markets around South Seattle, you either have to travel a bit to Seattle or White Center in order to gain more selections. This is as good as it gets, for it is literally 5 mins from where I live. The prices might be slightly more expensive than other Asian stores since it is the only one in Burien, so you just have to be okay with that. The good news is you won't have to fight for parking spot or worry about some bad Asian drivers hitting your car (I'm sorry if this comment might be offensive to some others, but you know it IS true). The issue I have with this store is the confusion of the shelf arrangements! May be it is just me... But.... Last weekend, I wanted to look for bamboo shoots and corn (the kinds that have reserved liquid in the cans). You would think that they would have the bamboo shoots and the corn listed all together on the shelf OR in the same aisle since they are.... products in the cans! However, I found the bamboo shoots in one side, and I had to carry my basket to the other side in order to get the corn! Every time I come here, I seem to have to learn about certainly odd arrangements they have in the store. No worries since I am getting used to the market now. There is this short Vietnamese man who does the stocking in the store, and it is my fault that I never got his name. He is very helpful. Every time I ask him, he is always able to point out the products and their locations. Thank goodness for his usefulness! Will come back soon when I feel lazy to go to Seattle / White Center AND if they have the products I'm cooking for. read more

I love coming to Wayne's for all of my weekly groceries because they have a large variety of fresh produce and meats/seafood. They sell a lot of products that you simply cannot find in American grocery stores. They also have great prices for quality products. If you live in Burien, but crave Asian delicacies such as dried squid, seaweed snacks, GOOD baked tofu, cherimoyas or even durian, "Wayne's" can be your savior. It''s little local gem that can save you from driving to ID every day. Their meat and fish are extremely affordable and their selection of produce is decent. But that's not all! Pretty much yet another local, family owned market. This one does have some unique options I haven't seen in other stores. I think the trick with these types of places is keep your standards low and fingers crossed you will hopefully come out with something fun to take home. The grocers here are usually busy working, so you better know how to use whatever exotic ingredients you get at a place like this. This store has many variety of items, but the aisles are tight and could only fit one person at a time. The canned and dried items may be a little challenging to find if you're in a hurry. However, produce and meat items are easy to find. Don't expect great customer service as the cashiers rarely say hello or thank you. They ring you up and out you go. read more

Pretty decent place, I like the other fruit and veggie options they have that the grocery stores don't and the prices are cheap however they have a $10 minimum for a debit card purchase. Which sucks because I don't usually carry cash and I do not always need that much. My purchase was $9.34 total and they wanted me to get more. I did not want to have to stand in line again and they do not care, they will just let you leave. Not the best customer service in my opinion. Endedup just going to Safeway since I needed to go there anyways, just like to try and support local businesses. read more

Every time I go, there are always new things to try that I am unable to find in many American supermarkets. The fruits and vegetable options are unlimited and unique, and are always priced the lowest I've seen in comparison to other stores. This is mainly about their deli. They have a small variety of food choice from soups, to chicken wings, to sandwiches and etc. So far, only tried their chicken wings and Vietnamese sandwich and it's good. Its inexpensive and tasty. The sandwich are a ham base and come with the usual that you would usually get elsewhere but the only difference to their sandwiches is that they add green onion and white onion. Sandwiches are $3.00 flat rate and as for the others they are by lbs so not sure what the prices for those are. read more

Great prices and a large variety of items. They had everything I needed and I'm happy to support a local business.

Wayne's is a hidden gem in "downtown" Burien. But go there for the seafood and meat shop. They have a live crab tank and live clams too. They also have a butcher counter. Although it is an asian grocery store they cater to many ethnic groups and you'll see Mexican and Middle Easterners shop there as well. It's hard to believe the variety of asian and other ethnic foods they have packed into this store. If you are familliar with Seafood City in Southcenter, this is a smaller, mom and pop version of that. Among the locals Wayne's is known for their low prices on fruits which are fresh but not asthetically perfect - a great way to stretch your dollar but still get good fruit. read more

I love shopping here! Way more affordable than trekking to the ID for inflated prices. There's a ton of stuff here that I've never even heard of and I don't need to feel uncomfortable trying things out. Cheap young coconuts (as well as more canned coconut milk than I've ever seen), Mexican delights, Indian pickled foods, and the Ukrainian deli that shares a space. I love it! The owner of this store never smiles at all. My mother and I always come here and I shouldn't feel uncomfortable when going regularly to buy their food, the boy that works there is not professional either, very rude to me and my mom for no apparent reason and then smiling at the next customers. That's not right as a paying customer that comes here all the time. Maybe their taking us for granted, but onto the fruits and veggies, they're getting pricier and pricier, and just alright, it's not the best but you get what you paid for I guess. This place was recommended by a trusted friend who raved about it so we were anxious to try as we love multicultural settings, cultures and food. We first found it after great effort on the foggiest night in recent history and they were closed, just after 7. When we returned, we were disappointed. Wayne's is good if you don't mind second hand fruit. I only go there to pick up some quick mushrooms when I don't feel like paying 4 bucks a pound at Albertsons. I use them quickly though because in 2 or 3 days they'll rot. The meat & seafood sections are scary but it's interesting to go in there and see what's going on..... or see things that other people may eat...but I wouldn't eat them if I was on my death bed. read more

Great selection of fruits, veg and Asian foods. I get my young canned jackfruit in water from here as well as whole ripe jackfruit. I do not know of anywhere else I can find the whole ripe fruit. I live out in issaquah now but when I come around to see my family I always stop by Wayne's to get some jackfruit and to see what else they have in store. Lychee, sweet baby bananas, cane juice and much more. They staff is always helpful and nice. Not many if any organic options but prices are good. read more

This place is pretty ghetto. I would only return here if Fred Meyer or Safeway went out of business. Sure the prices are cheaper, but there are bugs in the vegetables. I made soup and a bunch of little green insects floated to the top. I guess that's what I get for buying cheap vegetables at a cheap market and not washing it thoroughly. Bought 2 packages Salmon from them on April 7, 2011 came home and froze 1 of them.. cooked 1 of them, had a bad after taste. had to throw all of it away... today is Sunday April 17.. cooked the last salmon and it was gross! had the worst taste..
