I love exploring international and ethnic grocery shops in the greater Puget Sound region. Hong Kong Market is well stocked, clean, organized, and well represented beyond Asian regions. Latino shoppers will find faves here too. I was amazed at the fresh and frozen meat and seafood offerings....unusual cuts, whole (fish, poultry, goat, sheep), offal, exotica. Kitchen gear. Fresh produce. Canned, packaged, frozen food. Variety of rice in varying sizes. Snacks. Alcohol and other beverages. Hot deli. Baked goods. Kind of if one compressed Uwajimaya, Asian Family Market, and Saar's. A plus that Filipino products and ingredients were well featured. The delivery food was awful today. Bought 2 beef and noodle dishes, not going right lie it tasted like leftovers. The meat was hard and over seasoned like it was trying to cover the stale meat. These were $10 each too. Bought sesame ball desert also tasted old and hard. We went in at 11am! So why did everything tatse old?! Never buying deli food here ever again. Huge store compared to other Asian markets in the White Center area. Also cleaner and well-stocked, with plenty of parking. The cashiers are quick and friendly, but the people stocking shelves are a bit oblivious. My favorite things to buy here: - Ramen (Jin Chicken, Shin Gold) - Peeled jackfruit - Pork bones for broth - Watercress bundles - Melona bars (they have many flavors) - Pantry staples like rice, sauces, spices - Hot pot ingredients (they have it all) Their hot deli always has a line, but I haven't tried it yet. First time shopping at this Asian grocery store! Must say it's a much better location than the other Hong Kong Market in Kent. Even though it's a little further away, this store's size is bigger, parking lot is spacious, has ample amount of parking spaces (unlike the other one which is cramped as heck!), aisles are spread out, has more selection and the whole shopping experience is less stressful. Has fresher fruits and veggies, too. The deli counter seems to have a wide variety of food items as well. I'd recommend this Asian place to everyone! read more

Okay and another thing is that They had the wrong price on a a pan I bought I'm not complaining that the pan was bad it's really a good pan but they had a they had $120 price and it was 22 so I thought that was a little chance and you know they need to have more regular food in there I mean they didn't have like they had a few American things like you think they would have like pop and you know milk and I just didn't see very much of that but anyway enough of that so the good part was I got some coke and milk stuff I mean coconut water it was €0.89 for a big can. I've looked in a lot of places and it's like 3 bucks and a lot of places that I've seen and yeah so and it doesn't taste any better I don't think so then I bought Well that that's all I bought but they didn't call a cab for me even though the cab never showed up but I just wanted to say that you know that was nice of them OK thank you. read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood. This makes it so convenient when I'm heading home and can stop by the store before hopping on the freeway. There's ample of food selections for American, Mexican, and Asian staples. The price is pretty reasonable on some of the items. My favorite is seeing the precut selections on bean sprouts, basils, papaya, banana leaf and others. Just missing the precut ong choi. If you're like me who likes to cook but don't got time to cut those, they already do it for you. Sure, it's a little more expensive than doing it yourself but I like buying enough to eat and not overdo it. The Asia Express deli looks very promising. I'll definitely check it out next time I go. The cashiers was very nice with plenty of parking at this establishment, as long as people know how to park within the lines of the parking space. This place (employees) are racist. I just purchased 4 crabs. At 10am the price per crab was 7.99lb and at noon it was 8.99lb. I asked the manager if she would honor the 7.99lb she said no. I should have left then, but I didn't. I paid for the crab, got them cleaned and went to walk out and was stopped by a young man who came from his register to review the receipt even though he was present when I paid for them. Then another person came and the manager who said no came over. Then I felt a female put her hands in my bag , touching me without permission, said something about the lemons. I said I bought the lemons. The young lady who serviced me was saying she's good, she paid, she bought the lemons. And still it was another 3-4 mins before they let me go. I was humiliated, disgusted and embarrassed. I watched 4 other customers walk out after paying and were not stopped. I went to my car and thought I should speak with another manager. None of the folks in there spoke good english to understand my request. He pointed me to the manager who treated me bad, I said not her. Then she told him to give me the phone number from the bag. I tried called three times and the number ranged busy! I will not shop with you again. People should not be treated as a shoplifter AND you should teach folks to apologize. This wasn't my first time here, but it has been awhile since I was last here. It is easy to navigate through the store to look for items you may need or want. I came in today at around 6:20PM-6:40PM and it wasn't too busy. So, it was not too overwhelming to browse through all the aisles to look and see what they have in stock. The only staff members I interacted with while I was there was at the cash register and the two members that were there (one cashier and one bagging groceries) were pleasant and polite. The one designated to bagging groceries noticed I had brought my own bag and offered to take it to bag my groceries. read more

After opening up roughly half a year now, this store has really improved on it's inventory. The aisles are more stocked with relevant Asian ingredients, from sauces to flours, etc. The vegetable section is still a bit limited, especially the herb selections. Store is actually pretty quiet considering it is a Saturday afternoon. The deli section has some hanging roasted ducks and pork. So those looked decent. I am very surprise that this store sells Red Lotus special flour! This is like the holy grail of flour for making bao buns! So excited that I don't have to drive all the way to Rainier Valley for these hard to find Thai flour. read more

This is a really awesome market with TONS of selection. They have an entire Aisle (Aisle 5) for noodles. I have never seen so many options for noodles or ramen anywhere. as an avid traveler who can't take her passport and enjoy the places she loves to visit or explore thanks because of covid/quarantine, i had THE BEST time at hk market today! there were plenty of things i needed to stock up on and so many things that surprised me on each aisle. i spent two years in fiji and almost cried when i saw bags of bongos--i don't want to eat them but man, that nostalgic response to seeing them was there were small sections of eastern european canned delicacies and middle eastern things i needed like orange and rose waters. they had frozen paranthas and any kind of sauce i could hope to find. the housewares section, for a foodie who loves to experiment with dishes i've had overseas, was a delight. the produce was plentiful and the seafood was clean and looked very fresh. the aisles were exceptionally clean and well stocked, all the employees were wearing masks and it wasn't too crowded. i was reminded of so many things i have eaten, mostly in southeast asia, and realized that almost any recipe from that part of the globe will now be within reach, knowing that i can stop by hk market and find the more obscure ingredients to replicate it. this is a pretty epic addition to the west seattle/white center/burien areas; their shelves reflect the people who live in the vicinity and i was reminded how much i feed off of the culinary and cultural diversity this city has to offer. very excited to put hk market on my list of regular destinations for groceries. read more

I'm happy to see this location is now open! The Kent location is usually on my list, but it's so small and cramped I've been avoiding going there. The Burien location is much larger and allows distancing much easier, while also being all shiny and new! The parking lot situation is also way, way better at this location in terms of both ease of use and cleanliness; one of the factors that will likely have me going out to this location even though Kent is way closer. Overall good selection of all the foods you want. They're not on the top of my list when it comes to Asian veggies, but they have a lot there and it's worth looking at to see if they have what you want. HKM has always been one of my favourite places to stock up on "easy work lunch" supplies and this location met those expectations. read more

Went in there for my first time today. It was amazing! It's a smaller store, but everything is arranged neatly. It's extremely clean, the selection is excellent, and the service is pretty awesome. Especially if you're looking for some harder to find Asian ingredients, I highly recommend this place, though I was not looking for any of that. I got pretty much everything I could've purchased at the Safeway across the street, and supported a smaller business at the same time. I will definitely be going back, and not just when we're going to be cooking Asian food. Albertsons, Kroger, and the others will survive. An amazing array of all things noodles, frozen dim sum and Asian sauces, this market is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Their love clams are a terrific value at under $5 per pound and they have a pretty vast selection of fresh fish. I would avoid their chicken however as the one pack of thighs we tried smelled very gamey the moment we got it home. Looking at their other chicken selections the color was odd. Beef spareribs however were delish. And if you're a fan of lemongrass but hate the peeling process check out their pre-chopped cup of ready to use lemongrass in the frozen section. Parking is great and the aisle are wide to avoid close contact s opposed to Wayne's Asian market around the corner which we will frequent again after Covid but is just too closely packed for comfort. read more

I love the dragon near the bbq area. That dragon along with the lanterns caught my attention when I went inside. Very clean with spacious aisles with lots of products. I also love that they had antiseptic gel at the registers. The cashier and bagger were very speedy. We finally got the jasmine tea that we've been wanting to replenish, some sweet tasty mangos, 2 honey melons from the produce aisle, a few cans of roasted coconut juice and we even found a rare seen, Korean made pain ointment for my mother in law to apply externally for her arthritis flare ups. Now we have another local option to shop for Asian ingredients. The prices for ramen and the sauces are very reasonable. But always remember to check expiration dates on those packages before you pay for the items. read more

Shopping here is always a treat. They have such a great variety of fresh produce, meat and frozen food. I love their snack aisle too. My favorite thing about this store is they provide sliced meat for hot pot or butter skillet. Yay! Cashiers could have a better attitude though, I don't necessarily like my groceries being thrown around. Also last time I was there it got uncomfortable watching one of the female cashiers giving another patron some major attitude. read more

This store is awesome to buy meat, different cuts in particular, from duck heads to Rocky Mountain oysters. My dogs eat raw so very excited to find it. They also have great stuff for your home, and of course if you eat SE asian food, then i'm sure they have everything for that as well. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of the tweaker druggies hanging out in the parking lot and coming in the store, wouldn't be surprised if they shot up or smoked fentanyl in the bathroom, so potential health hazards for shoppers. read more

Happy to add this review. I think a one star review for a single product issue is petty and unfair. Today I filled my cart with lots of fresh meat, produce, staples and condiments. Topped it off with a whole roast duck from the deli. I really appreciated them double checking the temperature of the duck. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Everyone was wearing masks And if they handled anything they wore gloves. I asked one worker to please pull his mask up and he did it without any concerns. Hong Kong Market has great potential, but BE VERY CAREFUL purchasing seafood, especially live seafood. They are still getting their act together and appear to have hired staff that are not fish mongers, so don't really know how to properly care for the seafood to ensure it is fresh and safe to sell/eat. For example, we purchased live Scallops. They had a briny smell (which I couldn't smell at time of purchase through my mask), but they were all dead and rotting with a horrible doggy smell that I couldn't easily get off my hands (think of rotting dead animals on a beach). I had to take them back, and thankfully they did refund my $50 after asking me what I did (Lady, I just bought these an hour ago; you better shut down your live shellfish tanks, as you could poison people). Eating spoiled shellfish can kill people. I should have wondered about the quality because a few days earlier I noticed their lobster tank was full of dead or near dead lobsters on their backs (not a good sign). And then a day later when I returned for the scallops they were selling a lot of cooked lobsters -OMG, I think they cooked the dead lobsters and are now trying to sell them, which could poison people! I always give 3 stars if I will go back to a place (less than 3 means I won't try again). I will try HK Market again, but very, very cautiously. Hopefully they will hire actually fish mongers and pay closer attention to the safety of the food they are selling. read more
