I went a bit nuts bc they stock items that are almost impossible to find this side of the Mountains. It is crowded as in the isles are smaller and shelfs are tall so that is the ambiance (even if yelp disagrees). It is a cultural thing. It is a Latinx Grocery and it looks/feels like one. Yes my husband and I finally get to try this place! Let's start off with parking and location. Parking is a plaza parking lot sharing spaces with Big Foot Java, Goodwill and some other businesses. The location for the delicious taco de barria is to the right of the market. Now let's get to business. The reason why we came.. tacos! Everything on the menu look so good we wanted to try them all! However, we decided on ordering quesabirria, taco de barria, and consome. The food came out in a timely manner and was pipping hot so I knew everything was made to order. Inside this market there's this taco dine in place lowkey at the side of the building called Birreria Tijuana (they have their own main entrance) so don't go inside the market! It was my first time here an wow the tacos were amazing! I got the crunchy tacos shredded beef which was the only meat option they had. You could either get a crunchy or soft taco. On the side I also order consome which had beef inside it also. It's a soup and you can eat that by itself but most ppl like to dip the tacos into the consome and wow let me tell you... by far this is the best tacos i've ever tried! The caramelized onions were soo good too! Everything was marinated well and so flavorful. The only thing that i wish they had was the little mini trays like they have at other places where you can put your cilantro, limes, pico, etc. At this place it's quite different, they use aluminum foil to grab your sides. I came here few times and fun to look around. You can not see prices sometimes but most of items are very reasonable. You can get avocados that are ripe!!!! $1.59/each. Bakeries are big sizes and $1.59 each. Look very nice but sometimes taste very similar and dry cookies and breads. I picked 2 items and one is like a corn pudding, another one like a rum raisin bread pudding.....both of good! Taste like eggs pudding with Raisins and corn bread pudding. I work colleague referred me to this Mexican grocery store to get my supplies cooking Mexican food. I relocated from the Midwest where there are many Mexican grocery stores. This store was disappointing from what I expected. Not much to chose from, no Chihuahua cheese, but butcher suggested a subsidies use in chiles Rellenos. The brand of cheese was a low end variety as far as quality but I appreciated the butcher suggesting that I taste it before purchasing. The pricing was higher than other smaller bodegas that I've found in the Seattle area. Inventory limited. Produce over ripe and minimal selection. When it comes to first impressions, burritoes are like a handshake, they are expected to be warm, tightly wrapped around your five finger death punchers, and leave your belly floppers with a positive growl of approval. Despite longer than expected orders, the chow chow sounds produced minimal decibels thanks to it's soft beefs, and a silent lunch was in effect. The butcher is the best, and the prices are better than other places, especially for the quality. The staff is very friendly and they have all the spices I love and can't find elsewhere locally. Simply amazingly. The meat is super tender and juicy. The salsas are fresh and they also come with onions and cilantros. Very filling as well. Decided to cook some fajitas on Saturday and as we were on the way to Safeway decided to come to Guadalupe as a first stop. As we walked in you can see they have a taqueria attached and making fresh tortitas and had an attached lunch buffet with all the great Mexican pork dishes. I was blow away and reminded me of being back in Texas. I ended up going to the meat counter and found the most incredible flank steaks laid out in think slices that were just the best visual I've ever seen that were stacked six beside each other at least 10 or 12 layers deep. We ended up getting 2 of them while they wanted me to buy 6-7. We got some fresh salsa (red and green), beer and everything we needed for dinner. It ended up being the best fajitas dinner I've ever cooked that night and have to give Guadalupe Market a bulk of the credit for their great ingredients. read more

Mostly, their pan dulce is AMAZING. Bolillos are also really good. They have a ton of Mexican candy that it's hard to find elsewhere, and also good homemade crema, queso, etc. I haven't tried their food. But, it's my go-to place for all things Mexican! I was throwing a surpise party last month and I really wanted to find a pinata. I searched West Seattle, and then headed south. Stopping in lots of places in Burien, I looked and looked, but no Pinata. Then I found Lady Guadalupe--- Pinata Heaven. I got a giant bear pinata, wearing tan pants and a big smile, for 20 bucks. Perfect. (I resisted the giant pink kitty pinata somehow.) I also got a nice bag of fresh tortilla chips, some lovely cilantro for cheap, and good jalapenos. Love it!!! read more

This place is our Seattle tamale headquarters. They have good prepared masa and it was amply stocked on Christmas Eve...a minor Christmas miracle. They also have a wide dried pepper selection: New Mexico, Pasilla, Ancho and Chipotle. They also have dried corn husks, big kettles, and the other basics. If you're making tamales, you'll dig it. This fresh mexican breads here are good, its so clean and well lit, it makes me want to buy one of everything. One thing I have to note is that I do not like their fresh tortillas that they sell here, its too thin and when I try to heat it up on the tortilla cooker thing that toasts it, I have tried several different heat levels but if I pair it with taco meat the tortilla is like rubber and it isnt good. What I found most helpful is cooking it on high heat and literally toasting it on each side for 5-10 seconds or else any long will make it hard to chew.... but I like their prices for mexican cuts of meat, they also have really good flavor for the preseasoned meats like the taco meat or chicken or carne asada meats. Clean, organized and good priced. Also LOTS OF selection for pinata candies too! read more

This is one of the few places you can find a tortilla machine with fresh hot tortillas in the greater Seattle area. I am not going to pretend that they are as good as the fresh ones at Mezcaleria Oaxaca, but, they are very good quality for cooking chilaquiles, quesadillas, or other things around the home. The bolillos are also very tasty for making tortas and my wife also can't resist buying some chicharon any time we make the trip. Just like most of the places in this area, the "carne asada" for sale at the carneceria here is really prepared more like adobada. I'm not sure if the carneceria is better than El Paisano a few miles away in White Center, but, it might be just as good. The verdict is still out on that one. All the same, this place is really worth the trip, and I'd really like to try the taqueria attached next door during a future trip. read more
