Taco de Barria, Consome, and Quesabarria
Kristie S.

Yes my husband and I finally get to try this place! Let's start off with parking and location. Parking is a plaza parking lot sharing spaces with Big Foot Java, Goodwill and some other businesses. The location for the delicious taco de barria is to the right of the market. Now let's get to business. The reason why we came.. tacos! Everything on the menu look so good we wanted to try them all! However, we decided on ordering quesabirria, taco de barria, and consome. The food came out in a timely manner and was pipping hot so I knew everything was made to order. Hands down one of the best taco experiences I ever had. We will definitely be back. And can't wait to try some other delicious foods on the menu.

Tacos De Birria & Consome

Inside this market there's this taco dine in place lowkey at the side of the building called Birreria Tijuana (they have their own main entrance) so don't go inside the market! It was my first time here an wow the tacos were amazing! I got the crunchy tacos shredded beef which was the only meat option they had. You could either get a crunchy or soft taco. On the side I also order consome which had beef inside it also. It's a soup and you can eat that by itself but most ppl like to dip the tacos into the consome and wow let me tell you... by far this is the best tacos i've ever tried! The caramelized onions were soo good too! Everything was marinated well and so flavorful. The only thing that i wish they had was the little mini trays like they have at other places where you can put your cilantro, limes, pico, etc. At this place it's quite different, they use aluminum foil to grab your sides. But either way who cares!!! It's really delicious.

I came here few times and fun to look around. You can not see prices sometimes but most of items are very reasonable. You can get avocados that are ripe!!!! $1.59/each. Bakeries are big sizes and $1.59 each. Look very nice but sometimes taste very similar and dry cookies and breads. I picked 2 items and one is like a corn pudding, another one like a rum raisin bread pudding.....both of good! Taste like eggs pudding with Raisins and corn bread pudding. I wanna try some Mexican food inside the store next time!

I ordered a 80$ cake & this is what I got. Not only was the lettering bad but the customer service was horrible. I do not recommend this place for cakes!

Market value fiesta a la belly. Previously a ghost town shop for specializing mexi meal that is often overshadowed by it's italian neighbor, Guadalupe puts a dent in the marketshare rallying it's country with flavorful offers. It is a sunday showdown for seats as buffett simulations are realistic and people physics are in effect. When it comes to first impressions, burritoes are like a handshake, they are expected to be warm, tightly wrapped around your five finger death punchers, and leave your belly floppers with a positive growl of approval. Despite longer than expected orders, the chow chow sounds produced minimal decibels thanks to it's soft beefs, and a silent lunch was in effect. It was a quick burrito burial twelve inches deep into my honor depths where it died a slow delicious death, to delay my own death.

Simply amazingly. The meat is super tender and juicy. The salsas are fresh and they also come with onions and cilantros. Very filling as well. Two tacos was more than enough but saved the third for later and it was just as good later. Definitely recommend. Also get the consume to dip the tacos in.

Mulitas

This place is the bomb. Didn't shop at the market, but ate at the Birrieria Tijuana . Owner was super awesome and the food was to die for!! If you want authentic mexican. We had the tacos dorados, consome, mulitas, and torts birria.

Get the tacos dorados and consome!!! Amazing taqueria inside this market. They hook it up with the meat and the service is excellent! We knew this place was going to be good because it was super busy. If you want to dine in grab a seat or if you want to order to go, you just fall in line. They have melon agua fresca which is bomb bomb!

Pastry section

Great selection and friendly staff! The store had everything I needed. Definitely try the pan dulce! The pastries were fresh and reasonably priced.

Bolio is so fresh - we bought loaves that lasted all week & still tasted fresh towards the very end.

I love exploring international and ethnic grocery shops in the greater Puget Sound region. Hong Kong Market is well stocked, clean, organized, and well represented beyond Asian regions. Latino shoppers will find faves here too. I was amazed at the fresh and frozen meat and seafood offerings....unusual cuts, whole (fish, poultry, goat, sheep), offal, exotica. Kitchen gear. Fresh produce. Canned, packaged, frozen food. Variety of rice in varying sizes. Snacks. Alcohol and other beverages. Hot deli. Baked goods. Kind of if one compressed Uwajimaya, Asian Family Market, and Saar's. A plus that Filipino products and ingredients were well featured. I spent more time gawking through all the aisles, but bought an inasal marinade and fresh shallots. Enjoyed my introduction to Hong Kong Market!

Expect the unexpected when you are here. Plastic tablecloth on rolls - yes! Tamale steaming pots that double as seafood steaming pot - yes! Clothing, costume jewelry - all yes! My elderly Filipino in-laws would have loved this crazy place. It's like a dirty Fred Meyer that is catered to SE Asians, Mexicans, and more. While I might not recommend this place to anyone, they have their charms to treasure hunt and prices tend to be low. If anything looks questionable, it is. I don't buy any of the seafood. The meat is a maybe if you live nearby. The produce is mixed, too. Gai-lan (Chinese broccoli) in a bag looked suspicious; they were. I still make mistakes with what I buy here. Meanwhile, a box of honey mangoes is better looking than any others I have seen - BIG and approaching ripeness. They were superb. The deep-fried SE Asian treat from a mold that looks like a lotus flower (called Khanom Dok Bua in Lao or Khanom Dok Jok in Thai) is a surprising winner. I didn't die. They were good. LOL. Look thoroughly before buying. They have their gems and plenty of don't-bother goods. Look for best-by dates. They are not on top of such details. The staff is friendly-ish, if they aren't pre-occupied with friends. Otherwise, you don't exist until you pay.
