For the price this place is great. Everything you could want from a hotel: dog friendly, clean rooms, clean (very popular) pool, friendly staff and comfortable beds. The only issue I had was during check-in when the hotels systems wouldn't recognize my credit card. I showed the attendant proof that my card was run, but since their system didn't recognize it, the front desk person wasn't comfortable giving me the room keys. Check-in should hopefully take less then 10 minutes and mine took 45 minutes. read more

I have stayed at other hotels where I've spent way more money and did not get as great of service as I did at this Red Lion Inn in Bend. The room was clean, comfy, large, and provided everything we needed. Everyone whom I spoke with was friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms included extra bedding for extra guests. Although my itinerary says I purchased a room with two queen sized beds, the rooms only had full sized beds. The free continental breakfast was actually quite good. It included the standard eggs, bacon, sausage, cold/hot cereal, a waffle maker, coffee, juice, and much more. The lobby was always stocked well with coffee and tea. I wish I remembered to stop by the lobby during the night for some of these cookies people are writing about. My reason for taking away one star is because they charged me a $40 deposit onto my credit card without telling me. Hopefully it shall be returned, but from other yelpers, it sounds like it gets returned after a couple of days. This is kind of annoying. First and foremost, Victoria is one STELLAR employee! She is so incredibly warm and welcoming to her guests-not to mention hilarious too! We had an awesome time laughing it up in the lobby around midnight. She is personable and a valuable member to your team. The daytime staff was also great. They let us check in three hours early, which really worked out nicely with our plans for the day. Definitely recommend this place! I will never stay here again. Let me tell you why. 1. Handicap rooms are not easily accessible and have a dungeon like feel. You should not have to access these rooms by having to enter from the busy street sidewalk on the far side of the complex. 2. Housekeeping needs help! Dirty sheets, room was NEVER dusted in my 3 days there. It was a quick change of stained sheets and that it. Coffee ring stains on table were present when I got there and were never cleaned, even after I mentioned it! 3. Key cards kept going blank. Had to have them reset 4 times. 4. TV sucks- Direct TV resets to the weather channel and takes 5-10 minutes for the remote to let you change channels, then you have to surf through 11 religious & 9 Spanish channels before you get to anything worth watching. 5. The remote control had obvious dog chew marks on it. 6. The bolted down clock radio was 14 minutes off. 7. The decorative artsy wall clock was not set to correct time. 8. Dirty floors, socks turned black walking on floors. I appreciated Jaden happily switching us rooms out of the stuffy dungeon to a more accessible room that my wife with C.P. Could access without walking half a mile or traversing stairs, but other than that, this stay was enough to turn me off, especially at these rates. My advise; look elsewhere. ***See stained sheets photo***If that isn't enough read review: I was put up in the hotel by my job and they immediately changed my hotel after my first night there (thankkkkk goodness!). First off, it is in a busy not great part of town. I get there after a long drive, all I want to do is go to bed, but I can't find anywhere to park in their too small parking lot that is over taken by construction. I ended up having to park in the handicapped spot! I go in to check in and I let the front desk girl know and she said that people in a training should be leaving at 9 so I can come out and move my car then (wtf??). Which is what I do even though the light is broken outside my room in the outdoor hallway (not safe especially for a lone woman as myself at night). Then I ask for sheets for my bed (see pic of stains on bed)and they bring me the wrong size so then I wait half an hour for the correct size to be brought to me so I can make the bed again. Then I finally go to bed and I can't sleep because there are loud people on the stairs and I can hear someone in the room above scraping a chair loudly. But the icing on the cake was the loud clanking noise (pipes??) that went on all night. I was so happy to get moved to a different hotel the next night. The saddest part is the front desk lady had said this was one of the "best rooms" they had DON'T STAY HERE. Try the other Red Lion down the street. read more

The rooms were nice. Liked the microwave and fridge. The TV would always blast a static channel when it was turned on. The one major drawback was our right side tires being slashed and there's no cameras installed for security. The front desk seemed like it was an everyday occurrence for this area and there was nothing they could do. My first stay at a Red Lion Inn and the whole experience was enjoyable, although it was only for one night. Checked in without a reservation; asked about an AAA discount (which they have) but discovered for only $10 more I could upgrade to a nicer room and King sized bed. I don't stay in fancy places, but I appreciate attention to comfortable details- the room was clean, spacious, with working appliances and electronics. Bathroom was clean with lots of soft towels, nice smelling toiletries and the shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the room stayed toasty warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Free Wi-Fi had a strong signal. Bonus was discovering a check out time of noon, which allowed us to venture out for breakfast and return to our room to pack up the car. The complimentary breakfasts at any motel chain never appeals to me. The only item I sampled was coffee which was sub-par. Very nice front desk staff. I'd stay here again! read more

Booked this hotel through Priceline. It was a good deal and the room was nice. The beds are really comfy. The one downside is that it takes a while for the heater to start warming up the room. The lobby is really nice looking with a couple of couches/love seats along with a tv. Also saw free cookies and coffee/hot chocolate out all day. Location was very convenient to downtown Bend. The hot breakfast was very good. I tend to have fairly low expectations of the hot breakfasts most hotels provide so I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety and quality. Rite Qik: Front lobby is gorgeous. Staff were all efficient and friendly (even the lady who had to run breakfast for a full hotel with lots of middle and high schoolers!) Rooms looked nice but weren't all clean properly. Loved: The lobby (it was inviting and cozy) and the night person working it. He was quick, patient, friendly and approachable. First time staying at this hotel in Bend. I can say I won't be staying there again. Maybe it's the little things, but sometimes that means the most. Without being longwinded, here is why the low rating: 1. Baseboard heating. Took FOREVER for the room to warm up with that ancient stuff. 2. Parking. Parking was full and there were a couple good spots that were coned off. I went to park there at 11:00 p.m. and was greeted by the clerk who told me I couldn't park there because it was saved for the "workers" who were coming in the morning. I told her I would move it by 6:00 a.m. She said no, that I had to park on a dark street behind the hotel. Needless to say, when I walked out at 0700, 0800, and 0900 there were still no "workers" in that spot. Great customer service. NOT! 3. No internet connection. Thinking I wasn't smart enough to know how to log into the wifi, I was directed to bring my "device" downstairs. I told them I tried with three devices and that wasn't good enough. I watched as they entered the same thing I did and it not work. Duh! Then one said, "Well we did get an email about problems with the internet" and ended up giving me a generic "room number" to get it to work. Waste of time. 4. I called on three different occasions (dialed 0) and nobody answered except for a recording that the voice mailbox had not been setup yet. Really? 5. Ancient tv remote with no "Menu" button to allow one to look at the television channels again past the initial bootup of the television. Vary limited channels. I ended up watching my iPad which had more. 6. Room "appeared to be clean" but it had beds and chairs from the 1970's. My wife saw a maid wiping out a water glass with a towel and putting it back, versus putting a clean one out. All in all I would expect this in a Motel, but not a bigger brand hotel. read more

I travel a lot for work and I spend quite a bit of time in moderately priced hotels. This RL has always been one of the better places to stay in bend under $200. Rooms are spacious and have a 70" TV with free HBO and DIRECTV. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping, and free bikes for you to borrow through the front desk. Parking has never been an issue here, and the outside pool and hot tub are nice for relaxing after a long day at work. Fridge and microwave are always helpful for extended stays. Water pressure is good and always hot, which you can't say at a lot of Bend area hotels. read more

(My husband informed me that you had to turn the shower head to get more pressure when I complained the shower sucked so the reviewer who mentioned the shower pressure probably didn't figure it out like me!) There is a 24 hour hot chocolate and cappuccino machine, which was delicious. And they also frequently brought out fresh cookies. I deduct one star for the free breakfast. Checked in with a Baseball team, had at least 10 rooms was told could not park Bus in parking lot cause they needed those spots for cars, well we had 10 rooms that means we have the right to 10 spots, had to park on the street behind the hotel, breakfast was served till 9am most of the team is not up and moving till then, very poor breakfast, very rude ladies at front desk, had to settle for cold coffee in the Lobby, 3 pump pots and 2 were empty but they were too busy talk with the house keepers to make more coffee, if not for the home team making the team stay here I would never stay here if I was coming to or passing through, Red Lion Hotel are worse than Motel 6 now. read more

This hotel advertised a hot tub and a gym, neither of which they have. I called in November to ask about the hot tub and gym; the person I spoke with said both were open. When I arrived I was told the hot tub wasn't open due to COVID. It's an outdoor hot tub. Another person said it needed repairs. They also told me that the gym across the street that they had advertised free access to had just burned down, but it turns out that happened in early October. The on-site "gym" had zero weights. The manager was supposed to call me back about these things and never did. They could have at least offered vouchers to the gym and hot tub at the nearby community center. To top it off, all of my veggies, food, and beer that I brought froze in the cheep fridge. The beds are uncomfortable. And there was dried food previously spilled on the bedskirts; it didn't look like they had been washed in a long time. At least there were no signs of bed bugs. read more

I called one hotel and they were so rude so I looked up another and saw that Red Lion was close to where I was. I called and I can't express how great Leila was with booking my room. She went above and beyond and her customer service was the best ever. I will definitely refer people from out of town to stay there. It's nice to see that someone takes such pride in her work. I thought this hotel was perfect for what we expected. The room was clean and well kept: we got a double queen premium room with a fridge/microwave. The staff was very attentive and friendly; the pool looked like a lot of fun (we didn't have time to try it out); and the location is central to a lot of the town. We ended up walking from our hotel to old town Bend, and it didn't take us any time at all to get there. I thought the price was a bit expensive for what you get, but this may have been a factor of booking late (my fault...whoops). They also offer a complimentary breakfast, which was perfect for not having to go find food right when we woke up. The food tasted fine (nothing special), and there was ample of it. First thing I noticed when I walked in was beautiful lobby area and friendly staff. I have back problems so comfortable bed is very important. The bed at this hotel was just right, not too soft and not too firm. also the room was quite spacious. The hotel pool was also big and the water temperature was just right. despite all of the amenities including free Wi-Fi, hot breakfast, and pool/ jacuzzi, there was no "resort fee". Also parking was free. there were choices of good old American diner, "Black Bear Diner", as well as Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants nearby. My major issue with this hotel was the parking. We stayed for a week, and any night we showed up after 8:30PM, we had to hunt for a parking spot in the lot. I realize space is limited so I'm not sure there's anything they could do, but it's not a great feeling to wonder if you'll even be able to park at your hotel. If I could give this a zero star, I would. I went to check in at 6:30pm but the room wasn't ready. I was told to come back 30-60 minutes. I came back after an hour and it still wasn't ready. Instead of having them clean it while I was gone, they kept going in order. I asked for a manager and after admitting that he hadn't touched base with the staff all day, he made a call to housekeeping and then the desk clerk, he finally said that he and another staff was going to help clean it and said to come back in 20 minutes. I have requested early check in because of my two year old. No doubt I didn't get in right away they were able to accommodate my request one hour after being there. Make sure you call in the day before if you have special request for anything so it doesn't lead to any surprises. The front desk staff told me they don't usually accommodate in the summer time because it is usually busy. We stayed near the pool which was convenient and not loud at all. I have a kid so it was perfect. We were impressed by how fast they cleaned our room. We left for breakfast and immediately came back to a clean and tidy room. :) Also, our room was big and spacious with two double beds which was a value deal. As for the free breakfast, it was ok! Waffles was the best part of their breakfast. Recommend coming early from 8-830am to avoid prime time with people waiting in line and no seating. A bit outdated, but a clean, well-maintained and convenient place to stay. Purchased as a last minute getaway via Groupon and wasn't expecting much from the online reviews and photos. Paid $224/night after the Groupon rebate. Expectations weren't too high based upon the mediocre reviews and photos. However, I was pleasantly surprised with both the accomodations and the service. Arrived around 2:30PM and was allowed to check-in immediately. Room was a bit outdated, but nice. Everything worked great. Air conditioner, TV (large, 80" flat panel HD with several free premium HBO channels), free WiFi, refridgerator, microwave. Beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. The only thing missing was an in-room safe, but that didn't bother me. There are also bicycles for use for free. Pool and hot tub were both very clean and relaxing. Location is walking distance from downtown. 3rd Street is a major thoroughfare through Bend, but I hardly noticed the traffic noise at all. Breakfast was exactly the same every day, but good. Hot scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and you can make your own Belgian waffles! Orange/apple juice, coffee, granola/cereal, yogurt, milk, bread/toast, muffins/pastries and fresh fruit. Service was friendly and accommodating. I was satisfied with the value I received and would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Bend. read more

I booked this hotel for me and my wife to stay at during a conference in Bend. I called this morning to change our reservation from two double beds, to one king or queen size bed. Long story short- we received the worst customer service possible. They wanted to charge us 20 dollars a night for an "upgrade" fee. When we declined to pay the extra fee, they told us "their hands were tied" and ended the conversation. Never in my life have I had trouble getting one bed in a room, instead of two.
