The petite lady seems like the owner, and always looks genuine and hard working person. They never pass my due date. I was super nervous to fix my dress for the end of year party in 2016. Nobody wanted to take my dress for the same day done. I knew it would be hard during the busiest time of the year. I finally find this place and called at 7:30 am. I have been using New Oxford Cleaners since November 2008, so to celebrate my 5 year anniversary as a loyal customer, I finally decided to write a much deserved Yelp review (hi J & H!). There are three reasons NOC is the best cleaner in the hood, by far... - Their dry cleaning and wash and fold service is 100% dependable. In all five years I've been a customer, they have never lost one sock. They also *listen* when I give explicit instructions regarding water temp, dry temp, etc (they seem to have incredible memories, actually). It seems small, but you'd be surprised how many cleaners ignore instructions. - They remember you. Don't underestimate the value of this. I saved TONS of time in the mornings simply because I could walk in, drop a bag off, and they know me and know my usual wash/fold/dry cleaning routine. After my first few times in, they never had to ask for my phone number or last name. It's so refreshing. - The owners (and their son) are the NICEST, most genuine, hard-working people. It is actually a pleasure to walk into NOC to be greeted by them in the mornings. Needless to say, I highly recommend using New Oxford as your regular dry cleaner. I used to live across the street, but moved a few blocks east (far enough to merit a new cleaner). I tried using the people next door to my new place and eventually gave up. Now NOC comes to my apartment to pick up / drop off my laundry. Good service = loyal customers! read more

We live in the neighborhood and use them regularly. They are great for regular washing, dry cleaning, and even rug cleaning. We have an account with them and the service is very fast, convenient and seamless. They deliver to our building. I have also used the tailor on the premises and he has done a fine job every time. I've had him do hemming, and basic stuff like zippers and buttons, but also had him make a dress from a piece of elaborately woven fabric. The finished product was quite remarkable. He matched up the pattern in the weaving to the design of the dress and it looked great. I recommend them enthusiastically. read more

I have been using these guys for over two years and they have been great. The service is great--they are incredibly friendly and responsive--and I have never had any issues with them. Once I pointed out a stain that did not fully come out; they apologized, took it, and got the item back to me perfect the very next day. I have also used their tailoring services which I have been very happy with as well. If you are looking for a regular spot, I could not recommend them more. They continuously lose articles of clothing and take no responsibility. The man behind the desk is extremely rude when asked about missing clothing and then tries to hold clothes hostage and refuse delivery. I have never been so dissapointed in a cleaning service. I would avoid at all costs unless you want to have your clothing held hostage and go missing. read more

I usually don't feel compelled to write reviews but I had an unusually terrible experience here the first time I used New Oxford. I dropped off my laundry and picked it up two days later. Upon bringing it to my house I noticed HUGE RED STAINS on TWO of my dress shirts. I went back to New Oxford with my receipt and the lady behind the counter indicated I needed dry cleaning explaining that I WOULD STILL NEED TO PAY FOR IT despite it was their mistake. It looks like something red bled onto my two nice shirts but it wasn't something from my laundry. This is the worst experience I've had at a dry cleaner or laundry place after 4 years in Manhattan. I would definitely avoid this place. I will be trying "Chelsea Cleaners" and I hope the stains eventually come out... read more

I have been looking for a organic cleaners and found New Oxford. The best cleaners I have gone to by far. The owners are very nice and attentive to your needs. They also have best tailor in NYC , as he is able to do any job I threw at him. From tailoring my bridesmaid dress to making me a dress with a fabric I have given him. Their dry cleaning is also all organic and doesn't have a strong toxic smell as other cleaners do. I highly recommend them ! read more

I used to go to Belle Claire, but they kept messing up my shirts or not properly taking care of my laundry, misplacing many socks and other pieces of clothing. My doorman recommended that I go with New Oxford and that all the doormen in the building used them to clean their work uniforms... and let me tell you that doormen always know the best places. So far, after over 6 months of continued business, I have not had one issue with them yet. Highly recommend! read more

awesome, june the owner and her son are the sweetest. ann the tailor is so good at what she does and really sets expectations straight. i have no idea why they have bad reviews because they're organic and things come back great. sure there's a fancier looking cleaner on 8th ave but man, what a major ripoff. the clothes come back meh and the tailor is "strange". i bought in a pair of leather pants that had a rip of 3/4 an inch. he wanted 40 to fix it. mind you, i had brought hundreds of dollars a month of cleaning and tailoring to him and thought that was kinda criminal. when i left, he was shocked i'd say no to his price. i walked over to new oxford and they said $5. and the rest is history. now, i spend my hundreds a month with them and have not had a bad experience. read more

I live across the street and have been a regular for a year and half. The clothes were always on time and nicely washed + ironed. The owners are very nice and the service been excellent. Although I always pick up the clothes myself, I've seen them deliver as well. I highly recommend! read more
