Great place to eat in Trout Creek. Been here a few times always consistent with their food and…read moreservice. I chose the grilled cheese with garlic cheese curds!! I know cheese overload. But the grilled cheese was a gooey cheesy goodness toasted perfectly and tasty. Garlic cheese curds were very garlicky but delicious. My BF had their special of BBQd brisket coleslaw and beans. The brisket was done well and so were his sides. The portion was huge. She did tell us there'd be a wait for the brisket and it did take about 30 minutes we could see all the Togo orders going out. Locals must know brisket night!! Our second visit was a Friday and I had the clam chowder. It was not very hot but not bad enough to get it microwaved. It had a string flavor of tarragon and the potatoes were a bit firm. I don't think I would order it again. The place was clean and had a sports feel to the decor. Give them a try.

I'm staying in Trout Creek and as you can imagine there aren't many dining options in the area. I ordered the wayside burger ($11) and upgraded to cheddar tots for an extra $1.50. The burger had lots of mayo and was a good solid burger. The cheddar tots were good as well but I was struggling to eat the last couple because it was so much food and I was stuffed. The wells are $3 like many other places in the area. The service was good and all the workers were friendly.

We've stayed here in the cabins which were very Montana feel. Roomy clean and everything you'd…read moreneed!! Beds were comfortable. There was a fishing tournament we were in and the two campsites outside our room had some all nighter parties. Not their fault but it was noisy. The bar has good pizza and great drinks. We really like this place when we're here for a tournament.

Gorgeous small town Montana resort located on the beautiful Clark Fork River. The resort offers…read morestandard hotel rooms in addition to various cabins that sleep up to 8 people comfortably plus have full kitchens. Some of the cabins are older than others, but they all have their own unique charm, no cookie cutters used here. Restaurant, bar, gift shop, casino and ICE CREAM shop all located on the property. What more do you need? I highly recommend the huckleberry and the moose tracks ice cream, and just all of the ice cream, so good. The staff I encountered on my 3 day stay were all extremely kind and went out of there way to help with anything. I'm told the resort has a new owner (s?), who seems to have made some great updates to the property, especially in the restaurant. Tasty food, they have a new Trager, which I hear is a big deal for Barbecue. One thing that could make this spot more perfect would be a beach area. Resort is pretty high up from the river, there are incredible views, but water access isn't as easy. They do have a dock which is great for launching your kayaks, boats, etcetera, but not the best for just swimming and hanging beside the water. Just down the road, a 3 minute drive, is a boat launch/dock/park picnic area. Across the highway (a small Montana highway) is a small grocery store with deli that makes breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and regular sandwiches. If you're looking for coffee, I believe they open a little earlier than the motel's restaurant. There are also two other bar/restaurant options nearby all within walking distance. Also a great wedding venue, I attended a wedding here years ago that was stunning! The Clark Fork is known for fishing, so if you've got an avid fisherman in your life, take them to Trout Creek or anywhere in the surrounding area, they won't be disappointed. If you're just looking for a quiet, low-key getaway in small town Montana, the last best place, Lakeside Motel and Resort is a great option.
