My mom and I went to Voski Jewelers to repair her gold jewelry. The experience was terrible: - Jewelry came back thinner, and one chain was a different color. - Pendant wasn't properly set inside the chain. - Pearl ring wasn't polished as agreed. - Staff gave us the wrong jewelry at first before finding ours. Employees were rude, aggressive, and even told us to call the cops if we didn't like it. Unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful staff. Just needed a new clasp on necklace. Good news was the clasp was replaced with a shiny new one ($109 + $50 for Soldering). The bad news is the necklace had 2 kinks and was definitely damaged by them. But they were positive I dropped it off like that, even though it was wound up into a small enough circle to squeeze it into the repair envelope. I won't be going back and don't suggest you go at all. You will be treated better somewhere else. read more

A long time customer. Have watched Gary and the way he talks to customers and his employees. The turnover is another red flag but I didn't want to change jewelers. Brought my son in to buy an engagement ring. He came back to have it sized and Gary was so rude, he took it elsewhere. I bring in my engagement and wedding band to be sized up. He sends them out. Twice the engagement ring popped open in the back after this service. He mentioned"I don't know where you got these from" at one point. Uh from you. In between this fiasco, I had brought in a vintage ring to be sized. This also cracked open in the back after he sent it out. Both rings lost side diamonds after service. The second time the vintage ring broke open, I wrote an email to him. He really didn't care. Was asking for the slip? The orange slip I give back at pickup? That is the best you can do? I took them both to Fadens and they took care of them in a professional manner. So avoid. He hates customers and just wants to take your money. read more

Be careful in selling your gold jewelry to them. They will give you 1/2 of what it is really worth in the market. Recently went there with 10 grams of 14 kt gold and was offered $295. I already knew it was worth $600 with gold hovering at $3415 an ounce. I went to Faden's Jewelry and Larry offered $500. A much fairer price for the same gold jewelry. Voski DOES NOT pay the highest for your jewelery. You need to price it around and get a bit educated in the jewelry you have. Having a scale to weigh your jewelry and doing a little math can gain you $$$. read more

Terrible experience here. Newly engaged and needed my ring sized. Walked in and was immediately put off by all of the family members there trying to get good deals from the owner. Was told that I could have little balls put in rather than have it sized. Was warned that could cause side diamonds to fall out (not true. Adding those balls should not affect side diamonds). When I returned , my center diamond was yellow. I asked the owner what happened and he was SO rude! Luckily a woman came out and diffused the situation and took my ring back and cleaned it. 5 days later, a side diamond did fall out...took it elsewhere and they advised me that a diamond should not have fallen out. Nothing was being done to stretch the actual band out to cause that. They also mentioned that they have heard plenty of stories about this place over the years..so avoid them if you can! On Saturday I dropped off two rings, one to be sized and one to be dipped in rhodium, as well as a watch that needed a new battery. There were a couple people in the store who were all being helped, and I stood there for a minute before someone came from the back to assist me. I was able to pick up my pieces less than 55 hours later and was impressed with what I got back. The ring that needed to be sized came back to me sparkling like it was brand new. The one that was dipped in rhodium was shiny and perfect. The watch now works. I'm definitely going to make this my go-to jeweler. They were fast, had great communication, and have a nice parking area. read more

Update so I went back to Voski to see if I could get a replacement chain because the other 5 jewelers I took my chain too said that it was only a 10k chain, when it was stamped 14k, they all did the scratch test with the 14k acid & the 10k acid and every time they did the 14k acid the scratch would fade but when they did the 10k acid it would stay solid, & the other jewelers would do the scratch test multiple times, so now instead of a 14k gold chain in which to my understanding is what I brought from Voski I now have a 10k gold chain, so I went to Voski and ask for a different chain because I said it wasn't a 14k gold chain it's a 10k so he took the chain in the back(don't know why he did that) then came back out and did the scratch test with the materials already out on the sales floor. So there's no reason why he would have took my chain in the back, but he did, then did the scratch test & proceeded to tell me it's 14k, then when I said I just wanted a different chain that's actually 14k they told me that they could only give me a scrape worth of my chain because it's been worn. The recipe said that I can't get a refund but store credit only. It doesn't say Void if chain is worn or if it's been X amount of months. So my now 1800 chain is worth only 400 and to get a new chain they said I would have to pay more money. Then they told me that my chain would be worth more then what I paid for if I didn't wear it or came back a week later, which isn't facts because the price of gold dropped today. So how would my chain be worth $87 more then when I brought it for if the price of gold just drop by 3 dollars. Then they gave me a insurance policy and on the paper it's said my chain is worth 2,200 but how can that be? Then they told me they charge 75 dollars for an appraisal but gave it to me for free?? I'm telling you people DO NOT GO TO Voski Jewelers they are con artist and GARY IS A Hustler, he will con you out of your money because that's what he does. They had a business in Ridley about 5 to 6 years ago in which got shut down by the police because he was selling false jewelry to people. Do your research people look at the reviews and not just mine go on Google and look at their reviews on there. Be smart people!! And Gary I hope your business fails, Again!! read more

I can't say enough nice great things about Voski and their work! I brought two family pieces to them, one being a ring another jeweler chipped my stone and mangled the setting on. He reset the stone and designed it in such a way that the chip is not visible. The ring came out absolutely stunning, I couldn't believe it- when I got home I just stared at it and cried. My only wish was that I didn't pick it up while I was Hangry so they could have seen my real reaction. The other ring, which is about 80 years old, had to have the prongs re-done and again, a fantastic job. Thank you Voski! read more

I got my very unique engagement ring here. My fiancee & I went to Voski Jewelers looking for an engagement ring for me. I did not want the traditional boring ring mst women have. No offense. I wanted a square or round one. We aslo looked at Litman's Jewelers. They only had one 1 in our price range that looked very small & did not compliment my me at all. The one my fiancee purchased at Voski's was only $90.00 more & is double the carat weight. When I decided like 56 days later I wanted this ring I was in luck & they still had it. All the employee's & owner are very helpful and patient. Visit #2 my fiancee got me a nice necklace from Voski for Valentine's Day it was a surprise. Visit #3 I took my son to cash in sone of his coins. He's 10 & got $90.00 for like 8 coins, he was very happy. This is my jeweler for life. ** further update 1/7/17**I cleaned the necklace with a silver polish that I got on amazon, it came up good as new and guess what, I didn't break it.... never got to have it dipped. I'm still annoyed with this; can you tell? **Update** 12/5/16 I took a sterling silver necklace in to be dipped to rose gold. Which I previously called an verified they were able to do. The necklace had been put away for a while and the chain was tarnished in need of cleaning. I took it into Voski and was told that the dip would not look good because the chain was tarnished. When I asked if they could clean the chain of the tarnish, I was told that "it would break". So. Essentially they are unable to clean a standard silver chain of a Tiffany's type without breaking it ?!?!?! o.k.... Sized an antique ring, welded a ring that had split and polished my wedding set. All of the work was done beautifully, timely and at what I think is a fair price. I will use them again. read more

i feel like this place deserves a 5 - not because i have experience with many jewelers but because i don't have experience with many jewelers and i felt super awesome about my little experience here. let me elaborate: first visit - had my engagement ring dipped and my wedding band sized/dipped. they were professional, and called me when it was ready, and i paid and that was that. what more could i ask? they did what they said they would and i found the price reasonable. second visit - needed some cash. brought in some jewelry and it was inspected and weighed by a very nice gentleman. the others working were also nice and there was some chit chat all around. it was nice and friendly and felt like we were just all hanging out. i was paid for my gold. sweet! i also had some questions which the jeweler promptly answered and went above and beyond to make sure i was satisfied. mind you- i wasn't even spending money. he was paying me. but the experience will keep me a Voski customer for sure, for however long i live in this area. one caveat: the parking (yay they have parking?) is kind of an awkward situation and hard to back out onto Baltimore pike. especially if someone else pulls in crooked (which will happen). read more

Long time customer, went in for repair work, which Voski's has done in the past for between $25-40. Staff told me that repairs would be $200. There was no different damage then the previous times the ring was repaired. Very disappointed, and will go elsewhere. read more
