Well, we needed to get rid of the bunch of miscellaneous junk that no longer served us: a 10-foot sofa, several shelves, a dishwasher and a number of other items. Several places wanted $300 to $400 for this job, with two crew members. No. And they could not meet during our preferred time. No. Enter Michael, a highly effective super human who was able to do this 1) solo and 2) for less than $200 with 3) no dolly. What?! I couldn't BELIEVE how he picked up the dishwasher. Hoisted it up like it was a toddler. I stood with my mouth agape, I am sure. Old bookshelf hard to break down? Not for Michael. A couple swings of the hammer and a toss into the truck it went. Whole job took him, like, 15 minutes. And here I'm thinking this would have been a 1-hour job for a crew. I mean, it took me about 2 hours to get all this stuff in order to be hauled off.
