Do not fall for any of the amenities on their website or that they promise you on the phone. There is no Reiki, no guided yoga or meditation, along with other things they promise that are non existent. The admissions will say whatever they have to to get you thinking this is the best rehab center out there, but it has very little structure. If you try to leave when you would like to they will hold all of your belongings such as ID and Phone for 48 hours, and you are in the middle of nowhere. There isn't much structure, don't forget your tanning oil and bathing suit because you will need it as the 1 foot pool is where you will be spending most of your time exchanging stories with the other clients. There are little to no groups on the weekend, but the groups you get on the weekdays will be helpful, as the recovery coaches are amazing. Do not expect to see your therapist or case manager very often, but do expect the director to belittle you if you decide to talk to him. They will push PHP so hard on you as well, so don't plan for the 30 days they tell you about on the phone, get ready for 90. They will only refer you to a PHP or IOP in California that they are partners with. This place is basically your insurance card as a ticket for a month long vacation. They also won't tell you if your insurance does not cover your stay, prepare for those letters when you get home. read more

BEWARE!!! This place is a literal scam. NOTHING they promised is true. I was there for 28 days and saw my therapist twice. They pack you in like sardines and you will wait till 10:30 pm to get your medications as they always have admissions during med pass. You are barely allowed to use your phone. And if you do, then you have to do it with staff present listening in. The food plus the medications made me gain 25+ lbs. the food was TERRIBLE. No private chef, catered. And they keep you in detox longer cause they make more money that way. You try to leave, they say you cannot have your belongings because they have you sign your consents while you are intoxicated/late at night. It is pretty much like going to a psych ward with AA meetings. And NO mental health support. read more

I did not receive treatment here, but I am leaving this review based on my experience with their admissions and outreach, which I believe is important for others to know before they consider contacting this facility. After initially reaching out for information, I decided to pursue treatment elsewhere and clearly communicated that decision to multiple staff members. Despite repeatedly asking them to stop contacting me, verbally and in writing, I continued to receive calls and messages, including calls as early as 5:00 a.m., even after I explicitly stated that further contact would be considered harassment. My requests to be removed from their contact list were ignored and my text messages asking them to stop went unanswered, while the calls continued from multiple numbers. On the few occasions I answered, the tone was confrontational and condescending, with staff repeatedly pressing me for an explanation as to why I chose another facility. I'm extremely concerned at the blatant lack of respect for boundaries during a time when someone seeking treatment is likely vulnerable. When I raised concerns about reviews and asked for no further contact, I was told not to trust negative reviews because former clients were "unwell" or "angry they didn't get their way," which felt inappropriate and dismissive, especially from a healthcare provider. Repeatedly contacting someone after explicitly being asked to stop multiple times is unacceptable, and I would urge others to think twice before contacting We Level Up for treatment. read more

This place is, in a word, a horror show. They use deceptive and dishonest techniques to get you in the door: lying about the amenities, about the lack of one-on-one therapy, saying there's a pool (it's a foot deep at best), telling you you'll be able to have your phone and computer on your person. They even took my books away for a whole week The place is a puppy mill. Their capacity is for 25 people but most of the time it's closer to 35. They deliberately don't tell many people when they are leaving, occasionally informing them the day of discharge in order to bring in new clients whilst also charging the insurance of the discharged for the whole month The staff is incompetent, two-faced,, and at times downright negligent and harmful. Many of the so-called counselors are profoundly unqualified, often doing sessions in a group of 25-30 people by reading off a printed out handout and occasionally asking "what are your thoughts on that?" Everything is impersonal and cookie cutter; they once gave us a Mad Libs to fill out. One time a girl had a seizure and the medical staff ignored us and laughed behind the door. Cruz in particular was one of the worst offenders: he would tell people they were signed up for an entire month and keeping them in the dark as to how long their insurance had really approved them for. After complaints about the appalling food - including a salad made of greens, ground beef and strawberries - he told us we were lucky to be there like we weren't paying thousands of dollars already. There are QR codes all over for us to use to lodge complaints regarding HIPAA but since our phones are taken away there is no way to actually lodge a complaint This place operates on a level that is unethical. My ( 19 ) is on probation, and failed one random test for alcohol, back on February 13th. Since he is under age, he was ordered to inpatient treatment by the judge. Because he does not fit the criteria for inpatient treatment or detox, we could not find a single facility to take him. The judge would not accept that. We contacted " We level up " treatment center, and they suggested we go the " mental health route " just to get him into a facility, and satisfy the judge. Although i was weary, we agreed to it so he could get in and get out, and get back to work and on track. He went into the facility in Kingwood Texas on May 8th. Day one, he was placed with a 32 year old schizophrenic man, who was up all night laughing and talking to himself. Day two, that same man woke my son up in the middle of the night by " tucking him in bed because he looked uncomfortable " Mind you, this is a kid who is there because has to be, not because he needs to be. He is absolutely terrified. Also on day two, he called me and told me the dr there was trying to put him on some of anti psychotic med.. this is a kid who has ZERO mental health issues, we were all in agreement he was there because the judge wanted him to be, and the mental health was a " loop hole " to make that happen. My son is not doing any treatment, taking any meds, and still hasnt met with his " coach " after 6 days. My insurance is paying him to be there playing basketball. He is going to lose his job and his truck if he isn't released soon. I have spoken to several employees who all agree that my son is not benefiting from being there, they all agree that he is being treated wrong by the facility that they work for, but for some reason, they will not release him. there is zero medical necessity. I have called their corporate office numerous times, with no call back tonight tonight. I have spent time looking on the Better Business Bureau and I'm horrified at reading all the other instances just like this one. Please help me get my son out of there. He is being held captive because he has insurance. Another employee told me on her personal cell phone on a call, that the director was in hot water because they had lost over 20 inpatients, resulting in a loss of money. Therapist is seen only one or twice the most and she is really rude and condescending. also she is very manipulative and aggressive. They don't discuss aftercare plans at all and just egg people on into thinking they will at some point talk to a case manager or someone abut it and their stories are very inconsistent and vague. The minute you make a fuss about your meds or about your discharge, they treat you like a child and get really rude and nasty. It is weird how they have many different numbers to begin with and owner isn't even there but in another state. To the recovery community, for the families trying to get their loved ones and friends in to a detox or a recovery environment " we level up" is not conducive to a detox intensive or long term recovery program the irresponsibility the lack of care and well care for someone in need physical and mental health, obviously a insurance scam organization not base of the care of a person well being instead for greed... I got medical discharge from the facility cause I got kidney failure , high blood pressure, and heart problems not including that I'm at addict in recovery they send me home without my meds that I need on the daily basics not just that I try to reach out the facility and I haven't got a response from them instead they been lying to me about is already being a week since I got discharged, I had surgey when home the next day my Dr gave a new prescription but the pharmacy refused to fil it up cause in there system shows that I already got those meds... they talk about us getting working. In our steps but they don't have a AA OR NA book in the whole facility but if you wanna get a nice shirt and hat , then go there ... The worst experience ever. Their promises of mental health care and counseling is all bullshit. There was not one qualified educated therapist with an actual degree in the entire place. The only time I spent with my "counselor " was the day before I was leaving. We filled out paperwork. No counseling ever happened in the three weeks I was there. This business is just sucking insurance companies dry. When they can't drain your insurance for more they send you home. It's that simple. Drugs are freely being passed over the fence. One young guy and his buddy were high on fentanyl for days. One of them ended up in the hospital for three days after falling down and passing out in the hallway next to my room. The sandy lagoon in the middle of the pool area is full of cat shit. The staff knows well of it but doesn't clean it or even warn people to stay out of it. They don't give a shit. I hate to do this because I never want to negatively affect anybody's business but We Level Up is an extremely unproductive, dishonest and poorly run establishment. I have to remind myself that I care more for somebody seeking treatment than somebody that is trying to make a coin off of the insurance of somebody who needs help. First off, upon arrival you are put into a room and given a bed and that is it. No information about how/when to get meals, no information about any sort of schedule, no tour of the grounds, no information about who your case manager or therapist are and when you'll be able to meet them. I missed many meals because I was never told that they came. I missed medications because I missed the time I was supposed to get them. Clients: The energy of the clients there is not positive whatsoever because of many issues with the way the program is ran. You will not be able to see your case manager when you need, you will not be able to call your family/children/employer/loved ones whether it is to call your child for their birthday or contact your employer in order to keep your job by letting them know you are away. A few clients weren't allowed to book flights home/change flights and do other things that were of the same importance. I was not able to file for disability with my employer until the day before I was discharged so I almost lost my job. Though many of us were infuriated by our needs not being met, I made good connections with those I was here with because that is all there is to do. There was plenty of sharing of medications with one another and sexual canoodling amongst us as well. Dishonesty/disrespect: Nearly every client was told lies to get them through the door whether they said there was a private chef, high structure, regular case management/therapy, yoga/massage/meditation, none of it is true. When respectfully asking to see a case manager I witnessed a client be yelled at by their therapist in front of everybody. Most groups turn into clients getting loud about their needs being met and the program director instigating arguments about the program, regularly using the excuse of "this is a new business/startup company" that is still getting their footing. Many of us felt like Guinea pigs. Also, they will tell you that you will only be there a certain amount of time and then extend it once you arrive in order to continue to charge your insurance. (Many were told 7-10 days then were extended to 30). When a client asked for a lighter to be purchased with her cigarettes she was told "this is not a shopping spree." There were two lighters everybody had to share. Structure/support: there is very little structure, no activities, and minimal individual support. They take your cigarettes/vapes you bring with you and make you purchase through them which you can only do once a week. My nicotine order (as well as a handful of other clients) was not filled on the one day a week that they do claim to pick up nicotine for clients and whenever I asked staff for help they said they "will look into it" with nothing to show of it. This may seem small bit in a detox environment also having to be without nicotine is extremely difficult. I had to wait a week. Some smaller things: Shower temperatures are opposite on many of the showers, or they do not get hot at all. Towels are extremely limited. Salad is provided with every meal but the establishment doesn't regularly stock dressing so for most meals entire bins of salad are thrown away. Bagels provided but no restocking of cream cheese. French toast but no syrup. Ice machines and air conditioning do not work and this part of California is extremely hot. This is an absolute joke of an establishment. It hurts me to speak so negatively, but I have never seen or experienced something like this in my experience in seeking treatment for addiction and mental health. I e never seen somewhere be more poorly run with clients needs being met with such honesty and disregard. There are tons of treatment centers in California that are of such better quality than we level up, please please do yourself a favor and seek out one of those instead. I have had a great time travel nursing over the past year and thought I would apply for a job near home. Applied for a job here via indeed and had a scheduled interview for the 17th at noon. I have a medical exemption for a medical condition from my dr for vaccination due to a genetic nerve disease I have and reached out via email to the company on indeed where I applied for the position 2 days prior. they got back to me the night before my interview and let me know they would not be moving forward with my interview/employment because of the vaccination policy even though it is a law to allow medical and religious exemptions. I am not a mean person and my husband who is n attorney is a lot nastier than I but I hope the director or company Is aware that it is medical discrimination to deny someone a job based on medical status/vaccination status especially when it is accompanied by a Dr's note. one of these days they are going tick off the wrong person. read more
