It's a sensory-friendly environment, and he's able to move around, play, and regulate in a space that feels welcoming and understanding. I definitely recommend calling ahead to make sure they're not hosting a birthday party. When it's crowded or loud, it can be overwhelming, especially for kids with sensory sensitivities. Overall, it's a good spot on quieter days and can be a nice outlet for kids who benefit from a more inclusive play environment. read more

This was our first time at the Gaithersburg location. We have become semi-regular visitors to the Loudoun location since it has opened. We live about equal distance from both, so we decided to try this location today and it was fantastic! The owner was so welcoming and also helpful when we were leaving by offering the kiddos a lollipop if they got their shoes on nicely. We really appreciated being able to stay longer due to the sparse crowd on this rainy day. This location has some items similar to Loudoun, but there are also some differences-the rock wall here is longer, there was a large dome climber that was a hit, there are some different swings, ride on toys, a large tube bouncer , several spinners and balance items, lots of fun pretend play costumes, magnets, bluey toys. There is a zip line and trampoline like Loudoun. The significant difference is that this location is open whereas Loudoun has a closed off infant/toddler area and closed off arts/crafts area. Loudoun also has the teen room in the back. Still trying to figure out which location is larger lol. Both of my kids loved this location as they do the other. We Rock the Spectrum is such an amazing, special place for children of all abilities, and I feel so grateful that we have not one but two relatively close to us. Looking forward to trying to soon to open Pittsburgh location when we visit family later this year. read more

We recently celebrated our daughter's 4th birthday at We Rock the Spectrum in Gaithersburg, and I honestly can't recommend them enough! It feels so good to support a business that truly cares about tailoring things to children on the spectrum. It's such a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone. The best part was that they took care of everything for us--the decorations, the pizza, all the paper products, you name it. It was such a relief to just be able to show up and actually enjoy the party instead of stressing over the details. All of our guests had a total blast! We also come here all the time for open play, and it's always a great experience. It never feels too crowded, which makes it such a nice, safe spot for our daughter to just play and be herself. If you're looking for a great local spot that really "gets it," this is definitely the place! read more

The day after Thanksgiving, I was looking for a way to have my toddler get his energy out. As it was super cold outside, we were limited to an indoor activity. My friend recommended We Rock the Spectrum and I'm glad that we gave this place a chance. It is a small play area with different activities inside. The owner is super friendly and we even got to meet a service dog in training! Price is about $20 for unlimited play for that day. There's different activities, such as cars, basketball, trampoline, climbing apparatus, and the list goes on. My toddler had so much fun, and for him being a little shy in new places, this place was perfect for him to open up without feeling overwhelmed. read more

I did research around 2 months before my daughter's 4th birthday because she said she wanted to celebrate with both family and friends. I love celebrating my daughter so we went to a bunch of places near our area, and decided on We Rock the Spectrum Gaithersburg. It's not the first time I've had an event at a play gym, so I kind of knew what to expect. I met Pam when we came to visit, and she was also there to welcome me when I came to drop off decorations on the event date. I never do things half way, so if I plan a party, I'll do it in my style. I wanted to decorate it myself and since the room was free, she let me in and said I could set up. The party was a success. All the kids had a blast! We had the whole area for 2 hours, 4-6pm, the time flew and around 5:40pm, I asked Pam if I could extend time, an hour or 30 min. I felt Kristina was rude in telling me it would be $175 for an extra hour and she was clearly annoyed. I looked over at Pam and tried asking, but we left it at an extra 30 minutes for $75. The party for the kids was great, but I left feeling a certain way. Kristina had charged me $500 for the room (which is now $600), $75 for an extra 30 minutes, and $30 for hanging some items. They ordered the food for us and the pizza box had a receipt charge of $137.24, but she charged me $185 for the food. It felt very nickel and dime. I didn't leave feeling that good considering the party went well, because of this and how she acted that day. I paid $75 for an extra 30 minutes til 6:30pm, and at 6:20pm, she started yelling "5 more minutes!." It could have been better, and when my husband asked me why the food was more expensive than it should have been, I called Pam to ask and shared my feelings. She apologized and explained Kristina was having a bad day and refunded to me the tip I left of $50. The space is very good for kids, the service we got could have been a lot better. I was going to leave 3 stars, but she may have been just having a bad day. The space and zipline is awesome for a kids birthday party! read more

We had my son's 5th birthday party here and I would 1000% recommend to others! We had kids from 1-8 in attendance, and there was something for all of them to do to keep them entertained for the full 2 hours of play time. This was the easiest, most stress-free party to host, and the other parents in attendace remarked how relaxing it was for them too. The mirrors and layout of the play area make it easy to see your kid from anywhere in the room so I didn't feel the need to hover or follow them around - they just got to play! read more

This place is amazing! First of all it's super welcoming to everyone. They have a ton of physical toys--a zip line, trampoline, climbing dome, rock wall, ropes to climb, monkey bars. And then a bunch of swings in different models--whatever works. And then a playing area with toys. It's an amazing place for a kid to be a kid, regardless of if that kid is autistic or not. My kid is neurotypical and we love coming here and we love that it is such a good home for all kinds of kids. Like fully 10/10 recommendation. read more

I absolutely adore We Rock the Spectrum. I hosted a birthday party here and it was so easy. The rates were incredibly reasonable and we had the whole place to ourselves for the kiddos to run and play together. Pam and Kristina were amazing! Scheduling and communication prior to the party was 10/10. They arranged the pizza delivery, helped serve food, and even helped us package up the leftovers. Having an extra set of hands to help serve food was priceless. And at the end of the party they assured us they would handle all of the clean up! Everything was clean, well organized, and FUN! Our party had kids from 18 months to 8 and they all had the time of their lives. There is truly something for all ages. read more

This is a great place for my 2 year old. She loves the trampoline, climbing equipment, and toys. It has pretty much everything. We spend all day here: 10am to 3pm on some weekdays. I posted more photos on Google, but they were deleted as well. :( So, I'm sharing what I have right now. Updated version of the review: It's been a year since I've been going to this place. Since the time they opened (around 2021) and the review is written in Dec. 2022. Couple of things 1. Now on weekdays there can be kids from MCPS for 1-2 hours. The reason why we went to this playground during the week is because it was one of the emptiest playgrounds in the county within 20 min drive. Now with older kids from MCPS it's not as empty during the week. I'd be happier if there would have been something about it on Facebook (like that hey, there will be older kids!). 2. It's in photos too. I understand all of this inclusion and LGBT stuff, but I don't approve it for the little kids. So, this review is basically so that parents with little kids that love reading would be beware that there are books about inclusion and stuff. I don't want my kid to be around LGBT stuff before, at least he will be in school, not when he is younger than 5-6 years old (he will have his whole life surrounded with this stuff!). In photos are what the book is about. So, I'm updating my review to 1 star so that those two things would be noticeable. The playground itself is nice, my son loves dogs and playing with toys. It was so easy to coordinate a birthday party for our 3 year old son. Kristina responded to emails quickly and offered a variety of different ways we could set up for our party. We decided to bring our own decorations but both Pam and Kristina were so kind to lend us some things the day of that we hadn't thought of. The kids enjoyed the party and we had quite a few parents mention what a great venue and time slot in the morning it was! I had researched other options but many other kid friendly gyms could only offer afternoon options (usually during our son's naptime). Highly recommend bringing your child for a couple hours of fun and/or having a birthday party here! read more

WRTS-G, how my family loves you. Let me count the ways... We spend so much time at WRTS-G, it's basically our second home. It is my daughter's safe space. It is a place of respite for me because my very active daughter has the equipment she needs to fulfill her proprioceptive and dopamine needs. The therapy/service dogs in training that accompany the owners at the gym every day are for sure my daughter's favorite part. They are so sweet. We can't have dogs at home, but my daughter loves them with all her heart. Being able to spend time with the dogs at WRTS brings her joy AND they serve a therapeutic purpose. When she gets dysregulated or upset, she knows that spending time with the dogs helps her process her emotions, calms her nervous system, and enables her to re-engage socially. It is such an asset and I am thankful we have access to the gym AND the dogs. I'm surprised by the comment about the floors being dirty. I'm always impressed by how clean they are. We watch the owners clean all the time and they have multiple Roombas that run at night. I am so so so so thankful for this place, the wonderful owners, and the great families we have met. read more

I cannot say enough how wonderful this place and owners are. We just had our child's birthday party here, and everyone had a blast. The entire place is clean and full of engaging activities for all types and ages of kids. The owner and staff are so personable and friendly. They are incredible helping host a party with decorations and setup. I was very excited they had a cupcake tower to display our cupcakes. They even help bring in your stuff and load your presents to your car! It is a great deal too for a private party. We can't wait to do it again! read more

This is my son's favorite place now and I am so grateful for it. It's clean, there's so much for him to do, my son can be himself, and the facility is really amazing. I went to another location when I was visiting Florida and this one in Gaithersburg is really so much better and it made me realize how amazing it is. They have a huge clean bathroom with a giant changing table if you need it and a potty chair even, they have a quiet room with a bubble fish lamp and a mural and books and it's very cozy and perfect if your kid is overstimulated. They have tons of sensory equipment. The owners of the franchise have been amazing, welcoming, and helpful. The place is not dirty like I saw some random person say--- the dogs are not always there and they stay at the desk and are there to be therapy dogs for the kids and there is NO hair or any crumbs even. The place is kept so clean for a kids play place and I have been at least 5 times at different times/ days of the week so I know it's not just been cleaned that one time. As for the comment I saw about an "LGBT" book for kids, that's a joke. I saw the book he was talking about and it's about inclusion. And the whole place is about inclusion of kids with special needs, so the idea that they shouldn't have books like this is crazy to me. Honestly this is the place to go. I would take my little guy every day but he's in school during the week. Also, the owners are so accommodating they added hours so more kids could do open play on weekends even when there are parties scheduled. read more

This place is an incredible indoor play space. My son and family had an absolute blast at his 7th birthday at WRTS! The staff went all out with decorations, and were unbelievably helpful setting up--even going so far as to rescue our coffee that was placed in a soggy container! We also come here a lot as regulars on Sundays and I have personally gotten to know the staff and all they put into keeping the place the happy, clean & sanitary place that it is. They have helped me order wonderful sensory tiles for my son, and are very supportive of parents in general. The staff really has thought of everything to cater to families of neurodivergent children. WRTS makes my son unbelievably happy, and is universally beloved by his entire school as well! read more

A perfect indoor place to bring my son (2 yrs old) to play! Management is very nice, the music is great, and there are unlimited toys and equipment to play with. The price is favorable to other little gyms and there is a great side room/refrigerator to store lunches. Such a great place to come play with young children (mine are 5 and 8, for reference), especially on a hot day! We are visiting from out of town and wanted something different to do, we literally stayed till closing because we were having so much fun! The zip line was definitely the highlight, but there were lots of different swings and climbing toys, and my little one loved all the imaginative play with the grocery store, vet, and other creative play stations. We Rock the Spectrum is by far the best kids play gym in the area! This gym offers toys, various swings, slides, trampoline, a zip line, and lots of space to eat lunch while you're there. The owners are kind and cater to a wide range of ages and children. The gym offers special events, including reasonably priced babysitting nights. Also, the price is incredibly fair for use of the gym for a day, even more so if you purchase passes. My three year old daughter never gets bored here and always enjoys interacting with the other kids. We are so thankful this new business has settled into our community and cannot recommend it enough! read more

This Place is a 2nd home for my Son the Staff have become Family, He needed the Gym before finding it, his behaviors where getting really bad, and he needed a safe place to work out his sensory needs which the gym allows him to do that everyday, If we miss going to the gym or his routine gets messed up behaviors become worse so we make it where he can make it to the gym almost everyday. The gym is very clean which was a very big concern for me durning Covid and even now, because we are there so often(the gym) we see first hand them cleaning often and we have stayed even late enough where we have helped cleaned with the staff and if you ask for cleaning products if you child spits which my child does they will give you the proper cleaning stuff to clean up whatever you need so this was never a issue but they will clean it for you but i tend to want to clean up after my own child . They also have lots of rules on Safety which i love as well only so many kids are allowed on the trampoline at a certain time.. No Double Ridding on the Zipline Big Color Red on the floor to show caution for kids. There is so many Details of inclusion in the gym as well. The Price is great there is a place for you to eat lunch which you can bring you own food in as well the bathrooms are also very clean! The Gym offers Special Events Like B Characters like Spider man or Summer Camps Or Baby Sitting nights where they have Pizza/Dance Party for kids All very Reasonable In price.
