I bought my car from this dealer many 12 years ago and distinctly remember the frustration in dealing with the service department and taking my car to another dealer with better customer service. Fast forward -- I made an appointment for a recall and brought it in for a service on Friday. I called the service center at 3:30pm to check on my car status and told that they could not work on my car due to the holidays and shortage of mechanics. So didn't they know the shortage before I took morning time off work to bring my car in? Isn't there someone responsible for managing scheduling mechanics and aligning that against appointments? And if a commitment could not be kept, why didn't they proactively reach out to reschedule for another time before I came in? I was told by the service department that there were many other commitments they could not deliver on and that this "happens all the time." I can validate that statement from reading other posts here. On top of all this. there was no apology for the inconvenience but only excuses for the mishap. This is a luxury car this dealership is selling but less than basic, acceptable customer service. So I got my car without having the recall work done, but noticed the check engine light that came on, and the car started vibrating with acceleration. This was new. The car was driving just fine when I brought it in. So was this just a coincidence? UGH! SIGH. I was receiving messages that my tires were under inflated so I stopped by Weatherford. They were very busy but made time to look at my car right away and show me the two nails that were in two tires. Although I did not have an appointment, they said they would be able to fit me in. I waited with my dog in the accommodating waiting room and enjoyed a cup of tea and an NBA play-off game. During my wait, MANY people came to say hello to my dog and to see if I needed any further assistance while I was waiting. One super nice guy also got a dog bowl and served Wheatley fresh water from the water cooler. Weatherford is not just a big dealership out to get your money. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE FOR BMW SERVICE!!! I have had three BMWs and I know the dealerships very well. I brought my 2014 BMW x1 in for them to diagnose a specific issue I was having and they told me I had 14,000 worth of damages and "not to worry" I should just send the estimate they had already prepared to my insurance company and they would cover the damages. These guys are the biggest scammers in the area, and any reputable shop knows it. I went there because I was being screwed by another local auto shop and wanted an opinion I could trust, but they basically wanted me to rebuild a car that is worth less than what their quote was. They were rude, particularly Robert, dishonest, and changed the subject every time I called. As I worked at a VW dealership just after high school and became a car salesman for a year just after college, I know the inner workings of a dealership rather well. As such, my tolerance for BAD dealership experiences is about the lowest of anyone I know, and my likelihood of being the guy whose friends call him when it's time to go car shopping is rather high. So last week I got the Batsignal. My friend and his husband wanted either a 328i sedan or convertible, and there were a few cars at a few locations. So off we went. Started at BMW of Mountain View, which is close to their place. Walked the lot 15 minutes, nobody even came out. Somewhat odd, as we're a fortysomething doctor and a fortysomething business owner... but true story... we were ignored. So we left. Went to Stevens Creek BMW... a little better. The salesman popped out, said he'd be there if we needed anything but didn't crowd us. Truth told, one of their cars looked quite good... so we "put a pin" in that one mentally and headed up to Weatherford BMW to see what they had to offer. Ron Freytag was our "Client Advisor" and he did a great job. He was personable, patient with my (indecisive) friends, took us on a good test drive, answered every question. James Whittenberg, his manager, worked with us as well, as we wrangled the numbers until they worked out. Bottom line; my friend LOVES his "new" CPO 2013 BMW 328i sedan, the price agreed upon was exactly the number he was hoping to get the car for, we all parted as friends, and everyone was happy. I came in one day took 2 for a spin, came back a 2 day and took the car I liked out for a couple hours, came back the third day and bought the car. Jon Heppler helped me at first. I did not feel like welcoming as I walked into the dealership. Many staff were on the phone or looking at pc. It was not even busy. Same day but diffeeebt time. This service dept was unresponsive. No matter how many times I tried to call and wait, still no one picked up the phone. I called them two days in a row for recalls and they put me on hold.. again and again to the point I asked myself why I bought BMW. Service folks were pleasant to deal with, scheduling an appointment was easy. I brought my car in for a recall - some engine wiring that needed to get replaced, and figured I'd get an oil change while I was there, even though it's quite a bit more $$ than elsewhere - the convenience was worth it. I got the car back later that day, and when I got back to my office in Alameda, the "low oil" light was on. I called Weatherford, and they said I could bring it back if I wanted, or I could just "go to a shop and get more oil." Since I had a drive to Southern California that afternoon, I didn't have time to go back. So I got more oil, and when I went to popped the hood, 1.) the oil cap was loose, and 2.) there was oil *all over the engine bay*. I don't know whether the oil just sprayed everywhere because the cap was loose and that's also why the oil was underfilled. Maybe they did a really lousy job of actually putting oil in the car originally? I don't know. Or care, really. This wasn't some Herculean, complex task. This was as simple a job as is possible on a car, and they completely blew it. Do I have faith that the recall was performed correctly? No. No I do not. Will I ever take my car back to Weatherford BMW? Not on your life. Astonishingly bad. Avoid at all costs. read more

The place to go for ABUSE along with service. I have never had service like I got from THIS dealership. 5:30pm I got a flat tire going to the city. I was able to pull off the West Grand Ave exit in Oakland. I called up the dealership because I needed to figure out what was covered in my warranty. I called once and the receptionist put me on hold for a service manager. I told her I had a flat tire and was sitting in Oakland. What she didn't tell me is that they were closing in 20 minutes I found this out at 6:45 when I talked with Guy Parrish. I'm on hold for 5 minutes so I called back and was put on hold again. I called back and was put on hold again. I called sales and asked if someone would please get a service manager on the phone. At this point I'm livid and just need to talk with someone who can check my coverage. Natalia really didn't care that I have now called 4 times for service and NO ONE is taking the time to get me to a Service manager and NO ONE is showing concern that I'm stranded in Oakland and trying to pick up my kid in the city. And NO ONE is bothering to mention that the service department is closing in 5 minutes. She takes down my number and tells me she'll have the sales manager walk over to service and have someone call me knowing that no one would bother to get back to me until......tomorrow? next week? in a year? Probably never with the attitude of this dealership. Now it's almost 6. So I try once again to call service. I get Debbie who is even more callous than Natalia. She doesn't bother to tell me that they are closing in a few minutes but gives me the number for roadside assistant. Even if I got my car towed to them. THEY ARE CLOSING. She knows I'm trying to get to the city to pick up my daughter. She knows there is no way they are going to fix my car tonight or be able to get me the details of my warranty. Roadside assistant told me I could drive on my tire for 50 miles and so I went to get my tire fixed at their competitors who've been taking care of me since 2005. I paid for my tires out of pocket regardless of what my coverage is and I will NEVER, EVER go back to this dealership again. I'll take my car to SF for service. It's now almost 6:50 as I write this and no one's called be back about the details of my warranty on the car. Not service. Not the sales manager who obviously knows that I have a flat tire. If it was me I would have called the person back to see if all was okay. I actually called back to get the name of their GM: Jen Bishop and Guy Parrish offered a weak apology. WEAK! So if that is the type of customer service you are into, go ahead and take your vehicle to Weatherford BMW. Enjoy the snarky, callous receptionists and the general lack of customer service. I went Weatherford BMW to fix one of my headlight. After all day, turns out they forgot to fix it, but instead, they did wheel alignment and charged me $380 without notifying us (they said they will call us if the alignment is necessary, but didn't...). Eventually we spent entire day, paying $380, and came back with broken headlight. The worse thing is, I used a loaner car at that time in July, but I recently have received 2 traffic violation tickets (in Aug) from fastrak. Turns out someone who has my surname used/violated in Aug, but Weatherford BMW didn't check carefully, and provided them my information instead. I tried to contact them several times, by phone, email and fax, but they don't even try to fix this problem. I would never go back. read more

Sales experience: 5 stars. I generally cringe anytime I have to interact with a dealership, but my experience buying a used 2018 X1 was excellent. Kevin Thomas in particular was professional, extremely knowledgeable and didn't employ any the of the hard sales techniques I've been subjected to elsewhere. Highly recommend. Service: 2 stars. Here's why: Because of my positive sales experience I decided to give Weatherford BMW a shot when the first servicing for the car came up. The car needed an oil change and air filter and microfilter replacements. Before making an appointment, I called the service dept, gave them my contact info and they were able to look up my vehicle and had the car's specs, history, etc. I told them the exact work the car needed and was quoted less than $500, which I thought was a fair price, and scheduled an appointment the following week. But when dropping off the car at the service center, the folks behind the counter calculated a completely different estimate of... $1255. I asked for a breakdown, which included a fee of $250 for "auto servicing" and a couple of other junk fees for $500 I didn't think were necessary. When I asked the service associate why I wasn't quoted these fees over the phone, he answered "we have no record of you calling the service desk, you must have spoken to someone in sales". This was false, as I had spoken to someone in service who had looked up the car's specs and had given me an itemized quote (my mistake for not getting it in writing!). I politely told him that I would just take the car back and take it to my regular mechanic, to which he replied "sure, just keep in mind that those service notifications will continue to pop up". My regular mechanic, a swiss german who has been fixing BMWs for decades, charged me a grand total of $265.00 for the same work. Nearly $1000 less. No notifications ever popped up. read more

Bought a 2008 BMW 135i w/ Sport pkg....best price in Bay Area. I requested a quote from Jennifer Bishop she beat everyone in the Bay Area for my 135i with the options i wanted. Every time i emailed her about the status of my car she responded back quickly in the 2 mos i had to wait for it. She is very polite and even comes in on her days off to help deliver the car to you. Never once i felt wrong being there. The guy dusting the cars was even nice to me. This is my 5th BMW within 7 yrs and by far Jennifer Bishop beats the other CA(Client advisor) i dealt with in the past. For all those bad comments, you yourself must have had a bad day or you thought you were a big shot. Or maybe when you went to the service dept you got ripped off. I just purchased a beautiful black 2013 hard top 328i! Its in pristine condition and I love it. I needed a newer car but wasn't certain of exactly what I wanted to purchase. He wasn't pushy, he allowed me to take my time and find the right car for me, and was very helpful and transparent during the buying process. I am shocked about all the bad reviews as I had an amazing experience at Weatherford BMW, as opposed to Sonnen BMW in San Rafael. Danielle Charlier and JV Huynh are amazing Internet Sales Managers. My initial conversations via phone and email were with JV, and Danielle assisted me in person at the dealer. Danielle made the entire purchase process as easy and stress free as possible. She's very professional honest and upfront and someone I felt I could trust. Unlike Sonnen BMW in San Rafael which responded to my Truecar enquires with automated form letters, JV personally called and emailed me several times. The communication and personalized service I received was excellent! The same holds true for Alvin Chandra the Finance Manager who handled the lease. Everything was explained to me clearly, and there were so surprises or hidden costs. It was a fanastic experience and I would highly recommend Weatherford BMW in Berkeley. The only negative if I had to find one, would be that the process took several hours longer than expected, but it was partly due to the fact they gave the car a detailed wax before I drove it off the lot. There could have been a little better communication and coordination between trading in a car, buying a new car, and securing a lease as the entire process took about six hours! I'm very happy with my car and the fabulous experience I had at Weatherford BMW. I highly recommend Danielle as she's open, honest and trustworthy. Poor service, and poor accountability. Not to be trusted. My car had been serviced at Weatherford a few months ago, with suspension work done. The alignment done at that time was not done properly, so the outer edge of the right front tire had completely worn to show the radial threads in about 1,000 miles, while the rest of the tire was fine. I took it in for service for tire replacement (not far from needing replacement as it was) and alignment (which I requested be done complimentary). Agreed, then didn't do the work, and now that I don't have the worn tires to prove the issue, want me to pay for an alignment. read more

I recently had an oil change performed. They also wanted to change my engine and cabin air filter at an exorbitant price considering the parts cost and the ease in order to do that myself. I declined that aspect of the service as well as an electronic inspection(all features are working!!!) and a more thorough inspection than the visual inspection they perform. All aspects of the car are in working order, and it seems ludicrous to pay for an inspection that will undoubtedly show something to get fixed on a car running in perfect order. A message remains that I need service, and they refuse to turn it off - and there is no way for me to dismiss that nuisance message. Poor process and practice that I'll protest to the dealer and BMW North America, and I will never return to this dealer. read more

I told him Weatherford BMW. Matter of fact here is precisely what I said: "The BMW dealer I've gone to by default since my first BMW purchased is Weatherford BMW in Berkeley. They are bar none the BEST BMW dealer in all of the Bay Area. The customer service and dealer experience are up to par with BMW's benchmark standards. I would not be recommending them to you for any future BMW dealership needs if I was not being genuine. Trust me on that" And so my review will continue from a recent visit. I stopped by on the way home from work to pick up an emblem. I walked into the showroom, didn't quite look the best being that I was kind of in gym attire since I was on my way to the gym. But still, kindly greeted and even given precise instruction on how to get to the area in which I was trying to arrive to. That being said I commented on the gentleman's "en Vogue" track jacket and told him it was hot or maybe bad ass I'm not sure, but it was. It was dope. Anyways that small interaction we had was genuine, fluid, and no judgment whatsoever. I mean everyone in there was dressed "BMW official". I'm a die hard BMW enthusiast, and this dealership is the exact reason why I love the BMW brand so much. It's almost a car brand for someone who's selfish.. .selfish in a way that means exhibiting extreme particularity. Maybe "selfish" is lack for a better word but I mean BMW IS A HOT BRAND when it comes to their products. Style and performance are their key attributes in which the brand is known for. EVERYTHING IN A BMW IS ABOUT THE DRIVER. Especially in the older models. It is very very obvious. Everything is aimed or pointed to the driver in the cabin. BMW's are truly a drivers car. If you can recognize and appreciate that then you do NOT mind the cost andupkeep on even some of the oldest models such as my 01 E38 sport, E39 M5 & 540iA, E30 318is, or my buddies E31 840ci which by the way was used in the Italian Job and the Informant. It was also driven by Jason Statham. Back to the dealership. Prior to my visit for the emblem I had gone to this dealer many times before. As a child with my father, then as a teenager after purchasing my first 2001 BMW 740iL sport. It was in 2009. I was excited. Happy, overwhelmed with joy. The car had 43k, original owner, jet black with black interior and of course that beautiful Vavona wood. BUT there was one thing. The car suffered from the notorious dead pixel issue. Long story short I wrote/called BMW North America about the gauge cluster, explained I was only 19 but I really want my gauge cluster working, it's expensive to fix so on so fourth- they offered to pay for the cluster and I just pay the labor. I was to choose any dealer I would want to perform the repair and so I chose Weatherford BMW. They were more than welcoming, I had a few bagels in their customer service waiting room, drank a cup of complimentary coffee, sat back relaxed and admired being in the presence of BMW's living room if you will. It was plush. I was only 19 at the time and STILL, the employees were very respectful, polite, and professional. So at the end of all this; I wrote this review for Weatherford BMW because I genuinely felt I should. I've never wrote a review for something I'm truly passionate about and this is it right here. BMW. The BMW brand, and the dealership in which I trust to do BMW business with. There are plenty of other BMW dealerships I can go to but I won't. This is my preferred dealer. It always will be. I have not walked the used car showroom in a long long long time. I think I might do that soon. The last time I was in that huge hangar of a garage was when I was 12. My dad and I were looking at E36 M3's. It was surreal for me then. I wonder how it is now. DON'T ever buy a car here, they are the worst dealership I have ever been to, along with VW of Oakland. I am unfortunately in a lease contract with them for 3 years, so I'm stuck with for now. An update on my previous review: I've had the car for two and a half years now and suddenly my Satellite system stopped having live data. It is apparently supposed to be on the car for 3 years but I guess because it is at the 3 year mark since it was registered the subscription ran out. I needed to turn in my old leased car and get a new one. I am partial to having BMW and always feel safer in one. This is the first time I went on my own (no reinforcement team)to to get one. I visited a couple of dealership and found myself back to Weatherford where I felt like they listened and cared about my needs. Thank you to their Gen. Mgr, Jennifer and team, John McGinnis, Gino Maynetto for their patience in making it possible for me to drive around with another BMW. Special shout out to Enrique Pola, BMW Genius guy who made sure I learned and enjoy all the new features of my new car. He even took the time to call me back to make sure that my concerns were addressed when my car didn't start a couple of days after driving it out the lot. In panic and couldn't get a hold of anyone from service, I called him in the hopes that he can direct me to the proper channel. I came in to drop my car off for an issue with the engine and the line was wrapped around the corner, luckily I ran into Richard. He was very helpful in finding out what i needed and jumped right into action. Told me they were backed up as I expected and he checked me in and got me outta there in less than 10 mins. That was yesterday, I just received a msg from him today telling me my car is done and ready to go. (And he was suppose to have a day off) Great service, Richard delivers every time. Short Story: I came here with a friend to look at the 3-series. So, I was not here to buy a car or need anything. My review was based on the interaction I saw from a third person perspective of just tagging along. Long Story: I have to say that the sales people are nice and really know how to get you to like buying a BMW. Of course, that is their job and I must say they do it well. The only compliant I have is the trouble with locating water to drink. They had a water cooler that was broken and the water had stayed there for quite a while. Having bottle water for their customers would be nice! read more

Wow! We are blown away at how amazing our experience has been. Allen the salesman has been extremely helpful and super knowledgeable about the new BMW we are getting. He was always available to answer any questions we had at anytime. Ben the finance manager was amazing! I can't even put into words how helpful he was when we were doing the financial part of purchasing this vehicle. He was so nice and down to earth to talk to. Overall our experience was superb! I have the i3 and I made the decision to go with an EV (aside from How awesome and powerful i3s are!) because Mary Liz shared with me about the BMW Mobility Program--I can swap out my EV (i3) with a loaner when I need to take a longer road trip so I don't have to have any range anxiety! I just used the loaner program to take a trip to Los Angeles and it was the best experience. From reserving the car through Mary Liz and picking up the loaner car was a breeze and they washed and charged up my car when I picked it up! So grateful for the wonderful team at BMW Weatherford Berkeley, I can't wait for my next road trip! read more
