tldr; Stay far far away from the service department and I urge you to stay away from BMW. Their cars will leak fluids constantly, and they will easily cost double with all the maintenance repairs needed. I've been going here for over 15 years and the Service department has really changed. Service at the dealership is always more expensive, but it was a better experience. Not any longer. Over the years, they have gotten rid of topping off fluids for free. They only cover a Lyft one way. They now charge a 3% credit card fee. They have tried to scam me twice on so called "service promotions". They NEVER apologize when it's clear they were in the wrong. They are constantly wasting my valuable time when I take my car in. This isn't a luxury experience any more. It's nickel and dime-ing and blatant efforts to scam the customer in desperate attempts at a money grab. I was in the market for a new car....I briefly considered another BMW, but so glad I passed on BMW and Weatherford. I sincerely urge others to stay away.

Weatherford BMW of Berkeley is the worst dealership in the Bay Area. I went in for a simple oil change and they suggested me with a $335 "engine diagnosis" because my check engine light was on. Two days later, they quoted me $1,600 to fix a sensor. I passed because it is too expensive. Two days later, after filling my gas tank, the light magically turned off. Just a loose gas cap. They charged me $335 for absolutely nothing. Total scam. Stay far away.

If you're in the Market for a new/used Mini Cooper, check out the dealership and ask for Shuan Avant. Made the buying experience very easy and relaxed. From test drive, to financing to driving off a dream car (used!) for my daughter the same day. The car was in immaculate and in excellent condition.

Bmw weather ford was pretty good but I was a bit confused where the showroom was located because the signs was pointing at different directions for Services and Showroom floor. The showroom floor was small which fit 4 or 5 cars. It's dark with all the blinds down to shade the sun. The waiting room was ok. They did have coffee and drinks available for waiting customers. Customer service was excellent. Rate 4 star read more

The service here is incredibly bad. What happened? Change of management perhaps? I am really upset and disappointed with their customer service. I have been a loyal customer for 12 years with Weatherford BMW. I drive the beautiful X6 and have no complaints about the car. I came in to get a tune up and to fix couple of things that should have been covered by my "inhouse" warrantee. I pay an extra fee per month to cover damages to the expensive tires. After 2 years of regular driving, they tell me that the warrantee I pay every month is not going to cover it. They had all sorts of technicalities which made little sense. They kept telling me to read the fine print. RUDE!!! DISHONEST!!! This is not the way to do business with customers. The service rep knew what he was doing...it almost sounded rehearsed. What can I say about the fine print? I believe in transparency. I believe in honest relationships. When they sold me this warrantee they were not disclosing the fine print. They said don't worry, it will be covered! Now, I will end up paying close to $3600 for the warrantee plus $2400 for the new tires i don't really want. Talk about a dishonest practice. I would have been ok with this but the service man made the process very painful and unprofessional. So I involved a sales manager who made the experience even worse. He had good techniques to calm me down... He made false promises. Never once apologized. Totally insulting my intelligence. I will not do business with weatherford. I don't trust them. I feel like they are trying to rip me off. Look at their reviews! BMW is all about the ultimate experience. But at weatherford, it's all about how to extract more money from customers experience. I left the place feeling like crap. Like someone just smudged crap all over my face and said, don't come back. I will take my $80,000 and go somewhere else! read more

I bought a new car from Weatherford BMW last week and had a wonderful experience. My salesperson, Johnny Huang, was extremely easy to work with, was frank and straight-forward from the get go. He was responsive to emails, calls and texts. When I picked up the vehicle, a very friendly and knowledgeable employee helped me set up the car and walked me through its various features. Weatherford gave me a great price on the car to boot. I'd definitely recommend Weatherford and Johnny to anyone looking to purchase a BMW. read more

ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC PLACE. IF YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF BY PEOPLE WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU, AND WHO CARE ONLY ABOUT YOUR MONEY, GO HERE. OTHERWISE STAY AWAY. AND NEVER TRUST ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU. I was tricked into extending my BWM's warranty for more than $2500. It was supposed to cover a faulty suspension system on a car with low mileage. It didn't and I ended up paying twice what I would have paid if I went to a private authorized BMW service center. The service manager is total non-communicative, would not return calls, and reneged on his promises. Guy's a total loser and is a terrible reflection on this dealership. I even left a VM telling him that if I don't hear back from him by a certain date I would no longer return to this dealership. Of course, no call. My wife brought her car in for a check up and they mentioned the battery needs changing, although we have never had to jump start this battery. They charged us more than $600 for a battery for a 2007 3 series. I checked at another BMW service station. They could have put exactly the same battery in for $250 labor included. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I have many more stories. And I should have bailed from this place long ago. It is particularly egregious because I bought 3 BMWs from this dealership over the years. I still can't believe how shitty they treated me and my wife. The only silver lining is the woman who sets up the loaners, Sherry. Otherwise, UGH!!!! Simply put, stay far away from these people. Find another dealership for all your BMW needs, a dealership that actually cares about you and give top-notch service. Dr. Gustin read more

The salesman thought I was going to take a joyride when I asked to test drive the M3. I understand, I'm a young guy and that may have been a red flag for him. However, any decent salesman should know that generalizations will kill a potential sale. He didn't care about making a deal with me and I could tell he wanted to move on to other customers. I just bought an M3 from BMW of Concord. Much better service and I was taken much more seriously. read more

I have owned a BMW for most of my adult life and I have had the worst costumer service ever with Weatherford BMW. I choose to take my BMW to Concord or San Francisco because every single time I have called or visited Weatherford service department, I have been greeted with pompous lazy service representatives who have a dismissive attitude every single time. Then if I call Concord or SF BMW for the same service question, they are incredibly kind and helpful. And if there is any inconvenience to the customer, they try to accommodate. I think that if you are going to have anything of quality (car, clothes, home), you should have quality service. Weatherford never provides this. They are by far the worst dealership in the Bay Area. Steer clear. I have never written a review on Yelp. This is my first. My next one will be a good review on Concord BMW. I can hopefully save you the headache and annoyance of dealing with the costumer service reps at Weatherford. read more

Incompetent and useless are 2 fairly accurate descriptions of the sales staff here. My boyfriend went here in December seeking out a used M3. He saw a 2011 M3 sedan on the internet. On paper it was perfect, 4-door, lots of power, decently low miles (~40K) and within his price range. Scheduled an appointment with John. Overall pretty nice guy, made an appointment and swung by the dealership a few days later. Test drove the car, I went with him and I pointed out the distinct smell of cigarettes. Once I started pointing that out, I started to notice additional things. The car was not well taken cared of, there was a lot of wear and tear going on considering it was less than 4 years old. The smell was brought up to John who disregarded it and only said he smelled the shampoo they use, bullshit. The smell was pretty obvious, it was like the guy smoked INSIDE the car with windows up. Then he goes on with more horse shit about ways to get rid of the smell, one of them being getting a bag of coffee and put it under your seats, WTF? My boyfriend started asking him more detailed specs of the car, like where was it owned, where was the service record, options in the car. John had no clue about any information about the car. As a salesman who's job is to sell cars and he knew we were coming, he should at least know basic information about the car, he did not. Anyway, we weren't going to buy a car that was treated like shit and smell of cigarettes lingered. We asked to look at his other inventory. He wasn't much helpful either, snobby is a better word. He said he had a few M3 coupes and reluctantly took us to show them. He opened the door and vanished. Did not offer to test drive these or to turn it out, just went along his merry way. We let ourselves out and he chased us to contact him if we change our minds. Nope. Overall, disappointing customer service and looking at the rest of the reviews, I'm glad to not be supporting this business. read more

Worst car experience ever. It's hard to tell whether Weatherford plans it all out or is simply epically inept but every step was a disaster. They reneged on the price I'd negotiated and confirmed via fax, their service department wasn't ready to install equipment for which I'd made an appointment, there was an ensuing battle over the refund for the uninstalled equipment that took three months and BMW corporate headquarters to resolve, arguments with the inept saleswoman, the sales manager and the head of the service department... And to cap it off the inept salesowoman called recently to ask if I'd be leasing from them again as my current one is almost over. Not likely. My advice is to avoid Weatherford at all costs even if it means not getting a BMW. I'd drive an old Pinto before I'd deal with them again. read more

I chose Weatherford BMW as the dealership to be in contact with because my brother had a good experience here purchasing a 328i few years back. I know I can get a better deal in SoCal but thought I would save myself some time by keeping my business in the Bay Area. I was wrong! In April, I went online to inquire about a 2018 F80 and for someone to reach out to me. Weatherford found one I liked but they didn't have the car at their lot, it was at their sister location. The guy I was working with said that he will get the car for me if the numbers are in my favor. I asked him to match an offer I received from a dealership in SoCal (which had a higher MSRP), and he completely stopped responding to me. I didn't even get an "I apologize but we cannot match that number, I hope we can do business in the future" from him. Such professionalism. Whatever, I thought I'll try to custom order one instead because I really wanted the Mineral White vs the Alpine White, so I asked to speak with the person who handles custom orders and gave him my build code. I asked him to email me a quote instead of calling me back because I will be walking into a meeting shortly. He calls despite my request to receive an email and told me that a custom order M3 would not be a year 2018 car, it would be 2019?? What is this guy talking about? There is no 2019 M3 because they were halting production in May. I don't know what he was trying to pull, or if he just doesn't know the brand he works for, but I Weatherford lost my business at this point. I thought I would go straight to the source and speak with someone from their sister store (who actually had the inventory I was initially inquiring about) and the person admitted that they cannot compete with SoCal pricing because the market is bigger and more competitive there. TL;DR: Weartherford lost my business due to the lack of knowledge of their product and professionalism. I accepted the quote I got from the dealership in SoCal and took my F80 on her first road trip home to the Bay Area. read more
I'm writing specifically about my dealings with Danielle, the "Internet Sales Manager". Horrible dodgy answers to my email requests for information. I'm not local to the Bay at the moment so it's difficult to talk on the phone due to the time difference and my schedule. I told her this. I asked for price breakdowns and she said she had to talk to me on the phone. I asked again and she said called and left me a message saying she needed "clarification". I asked again and she finally gave me some numbers over email but left out information detailing all the costs and fees. The information she did include clearly was trying to pad her profits by increasing the money factor. The money factor for a lease is the interest you pay on the cost of the car you are leasing. You should always ask for the money factor, the residual %, the MSRP, the sale price and and reductions. If you have all of these numbers, you can see if you are getting a good deal or not. This number is easily found online and can vary a bit by your credit score. I told her to assume my score was 760. She quoted me a money factor of 0.00150 (3.6%) when the true BMW finanacial services number should be 0.00130 (3.12%). When I asked her to adjust it or clarify, she never replied back. Avoid. There are plenty of dealers who want your business and will give you a straight up deal and answer your questions in a clear, no BS answer. In fact, there may be someone at that very dealership who is more transparent in their dealings. read more

Simply awful. There are a lot of choices to purchase BMW's in the Bay Area and sadly, this is not one of them. The BMW I purchased from Weatherford was not my first BMW, it is my 6th (Crevier-Santa Ana, Peterson-Boise, Lauderdale Imports (2) Fort Lauderdale, BMW of San Francisco) so I have a bit of a basis for my rating. The model I was after was a 5 series and one of the options I wanted on the car was satellite radio. The vehicle I was interested in did not have the actual sat radio, but was factory pre-wired so that adding it on was easy to do. Grace, my salesperson was so desperate to sell a car she had me talk to the sale manager Frank. Frank and Grace promised that if I accepted the deal with them that they would install the sat radio unit at cost. When I returned to the dealership to have the sat radio installed they quoted a retail price (I had asked Peter Pan BMW service department to quote the same) at $22 less than the Peter Pan retail price. Their excuse for the price, that is the sales department cost, not Weatherford cost. Grace is not a salesperson to deal with. She will say whatever you want to hear to sell a car. When you resist, she shuttles you off to her manager Frank. Neither Grace or Frank can not be trusted to keep their word. OK, they are liars. You have a lot of choices for buying a BMW, after reading all of the bad reviews for Weatherford BMW, do you really want to take a chance on Weatherford? Having purchased a few BMW's in the past, I incorrectly figured that all BMW dealerships were a cut above the fray of dealing in bad faith. I was wrong. Weatherford is a stain on the BMW brand. read more

Take a look at the Fifty+ reviews on yelp for this dealership. And believe the overall rating. Believe it, unlike I did. Do not buy your car from here. I am not kidding when I say this was the worst consumer experience of my life. I purchased a "CPO" car here and the purchase itself was uneventful. The sales staff was helpful and polite. The test drive suggested I had found my dream car. Except, of course, the error message I noticed about a tire during the test drive. I was ASSURED it was taken care of; and drove the car home after buying it and buying into their "full of pride" CPO program. Within a week I had major problems with a tire leak. Within a week I had the car inspected at two facilities - one BMW and one independent - both of which said the car had four cracked rims and was basically undriveable. There is no way I did this to the car I had purchased 7 days prior. They said bring it back. I sent the car back. They said, "your rims are broken" and replaced them. Embarrased. No apology. No true accountability or responsibility. This was after weeks of hassle. Calls to BMW North america about the falsified inspection report. Nothing. Salesguy was nice. Helpful. But give me a break. This is not a luxury experience. This was a huge hassle. Not to mention the cost incurred with the inspections and getting the car back there. Never again, weatherford. Never again, BMW. read more

Sent email inquiring about a quote for a set of tires. Their so-called "Internet Sales Director" responded saying he'd forward the request but never did. Then when I asked about it after weeks have passed, he told me he'll get on the case himself. Well, he never responded with the quote, but sent me multiple "how was my service", "what other service can I provide" emails. WTF?? I go to there for a warranty services and recalls, but not for anything else. Also, all BMW dealers should stop the practice of nagging customers after the service to give them high ratings when BMW NA calls! read more

Excellent BMW dealer. I had checked out couple of dealers in Bay Area, but Weatherford is the best! I got the best deal here compared to all other BMW dealers. Without a doubt the worst BMW dealership I've ever had the misfortune to have to go to. I've been here a few times for both service and sales. On the sales front: Rude and impersonal and even wrong: got half way through the process they guy was selling me the wrong car (wrong model and engine). Decided against it. On the service: Rude and condescending, on the phone every staff member responds to a request for information to 'I'll transfer you to..' I had a broken window and not only was it a fortune to repair but they left the car full of broken glass. Including in places where the vehicle would suffer damage if not removed. The sales/service guy actually cleaned some of it out for me, nice, but not really the point, since how do I know how much glass they left hidden in the door frame to do more damage. Cost for a broken passenger window: $900 On top of that: They charged me $157 labor + $180 parts to change the battery (located in the trunk) and couldn't even be bothered to re-fit the trunk trim. I really get the feeling that it's horrible management, the sales/service guy did give me a discount on request, but I feel so ripped off, maybe the other dealerships set my expectations too high At a different dealership the fairytale they told me about having to replace the motor for the window along with the glass might have been true, but here in hindsight having been leered at by the service manager and seen the crappy job I bet you they were just ripping me off Just horrible, EVERY TIME, So unbelievably bad I can't believe they are still in business read more

Sorry Jen. My experience turning in my leased 328i was horrifying. I was charged for things I should never have been charged for. And when I called to talk to the Weatherford manager and the finance manager, I never got my call returned. In fact, my blood pressure rises every time I think of my experience. I will never lease from you guys again. If you're thinking of leasing from Weatherford...save your time and go some place else. read more
Let's face it, in my opinion car dealers all suck. There are some with good sales departments, some with good service departments, and some that stink at everything. I can only comment on the sales side. On a positive note, Weatherford has a lot of selection in both new and used BMWs. Most of the used cars are kept downstairs in a garage where the combination of detailing and fluorescent lights make every car look amazing. After getting my car home, I realized it wasn't quite as amazing as I had thought, and two different body shops confirmed this. The sales manager did the right thing when I complained and quickly reversed the deal for me. Take a careful look at your new or used car, and consider having an independent body shop look at the paintwork before you pull the trigger. Perhaps the car I got was an isolated case, but anecdotal feedback from others tells me it wasn't. To end on a positive note, my friend bought a used car there despite my experience, and he's happy so far. read more
When I started looking at cars in mid-December, I didn't think it would take until the last day in February to buy one. Total car buying noob. I settled on BMW, and JV at Weatherford was the second BMW internet manager I met with in the Bay Area. After casting a wide net (I looked at inventory within a 300-mile radius of SF, as well as LA, Portland, and Phoenix), I ended up back at Weatherford, many test drives later. I probably looked at 50-60 cars and seriously considered 3. Here's how it went: Car #1: 2012 328i. Fully loaded, but no room for negotiation (I don't consider anything in the hundreds flexible), and internet sales manager at that dealership (not Weatherford) was beyond irritating -- he was half an hour late to our appointment over my lunch break, was the slowest talker in the world, couldn't do a simple intro on the features of a car (yes...some selling is involved here), and still managed to be cocky. We didn't buy this car. If we had, we probably would've felt really dirty afterwards. Car #2: 2010 335i. After failure to negotiate on the last car, in desperation, I watched a 2010 video collaborated by Good Morning America x Edmunds.com, who "went undercover to show you, step by step, how to haggle." (For at least a giggle, check it out at http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/ConsumerNews/art-deal-haggle-car/story?id=11845530). What the video taught me was that I needed to find some soft sales reps to step on, which do not exist at BMW dealerships in the Bay Area. Maybe if I went to the boonies, I could use these tips. Negotiation was short. The car had recently been marked down 5% and we negotiated that down another 7%. We wanted 10%, which was reasonable given the market, but I could also see someone buying this for his asking price, due to limited supply. I think this didn't work out for us for a few reasons, but primarily this guy just didn't need our business and he let us know as much. Car #3: 2012 328i, almost fully loaded. Posted online Wednesday night, and we took Thursday morning off to meet with JV to see it. I wasn't expecting to buy that day, but after some contemplation and negotiation, we had a deal and our car. The buying process took 5 hours! Cray. It took over two months but I'm glad we went with JV. He was down to earth, friendly, wanted our business, and most impressive of all, he truly went above and beyond on customer service. I'm happy not just with the car, but the purchase process as a whole. It's not easy to look back on a car buying process and feel good about it, and if I had gone with another sales rep this certainly wouldn't have been the case. JV will take care of you! The only thing keeping this review short of five stars is an incomplete deliverable, which we will have to go back for when we do our maintenance in a month or two. I will definitely do an update on that after. EDIT: Received! This review got five on ittttt read more
Review is for Service Department only: Honestly I was hesitant to bring my '08 335i in for service to BMW dealerships in the Bay Area after my horrible experience with BMW SF... I had complained numerous times about an issue with the brakes to SF BMW and had left the car there for a week. SF BMW did not EVEN bother offer me a loaner car...instead they offered me a shuttle to my destination (whoooppeee doo, what good is that going to do me for a week? i rely on my car for my morning and evening commutes). SF BMW called me in to let me know that the problem could not be verified (that this is normal) and refused to accommodate my request. Quinton at Weatherford BMW was referred to me by my friend. Overall: +Helpful Service Adviser (TIP: Ask for Quinton) +Loaner Cars are easy to arrange (TIP: Just make sure you call at least a week ahead). +Solved the brake problem that SF BMW refused to acknowledge Service here shits on SF BMW... For people in SF: +Spend the $10 for toll and extra 20 minute drive..trust me: IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT. read more

If you read my other review... you are going to laugh pretty hard at this one. So, I bought a horse and need a big ass truck to cart her around in a trailer. Oddly, the only place that had the Dodge Diesel 2500 Lariat pick up I wanted was, wait for it... Weatherford BMW. Off the hubby and I go to Weatherford as I am seriously wondering how I am going to hide from certain people in the dealership after my last Yelp review. Guess who was our sales guy... yep, you guessed it, Neil. Apparently, when you actually sit down with Neil he is a great guy. He was patient, relaxed, kind and fairly straight forward. If this review was for Neil alone, I would give it four stars. He is neat guy with a really interesting background before selling cars. I ended up being really happy that we got to work with him and would recommend him. For the dealership and the sales manager experience, I am standing behind the two star rating. Maybe it because I bought a diesel truck for hauling from the BMW people, but they were kind of ridiculous on the negotiation. They took a Mercedes trade (yes, I know, no BMW's anywhere) and tried to pull some strange rationale on the costs and whatnot. We were kind of bratty and pulled the almost walk out, but really, in this day and age with all the financial info on both sides, should it really even get to that? Long story short, the dealer is still not my first choice. That said, if they have something you want, go see Neil during the off season. I think the big issue with my shopping last time was we tried to buy during the year end promotions and it was just crazy time. I think the sales guys are under a ton of pressure then and it did not work well for anyone. On side note - I kept my 335. I just can't get rid of Lola and at 36,000 on a 2009, she is almost paid off and I think I am just going to keep her forever and will never have to worry about the BMW buying process again. In my opinion Weatherford as a dealer is a liability to BMW. I have several awful stories but they simply broke my car while trying to fix it then forced me to pay for it. I went in to have them fix my keyless door entry and in the process they broke my manual key mechanism. I was promised by a customer service representative that they would compensate me for it but he failed to document our conversation and conveniently forgot about our conversation when it mattered most. It just is such a second-rate customer service experience, they fix problems by "BSing" you with a fake smile to cover up all their incompenticies. Go to Concord BMW or Neillo in Sacramento and you will see a world of difference! Trust me! read more

I'd walked into this BMW dealership looking for a very specific CPO car. To help us out with our purchase, Renold Victor helped us not only take a good test drive in the car carefully explaining all features and functions, but also helping us structure the best possible deal. He advised us in selecting financing options, possible discounts and made sure he followed up on our purchase. He's very courteous, friendly and non-pushy - very unlike the 7 used car salesmen we'd met before buying this car. He worked with us throughout the 7 hour purchase journey and I'd highly recommend his services and this dealership to anyone looking for a good CPO car. Their inventory is HUGE and has many good options. Edit 1: Turns out it wasn't that great after all. I'm wary of used car salesmen trying to trick me, so I went to the BMW website to check for CPO specials. Turns out I wasn't offered an APR special that they were running and now, as a favor decide not to make it right by me but "pay me off" with a paltry check for half the amount. On being prodded, the finance manager just said, "That's our profit margin. You should've known better! We're under contract." This constitutes wilfully concealing facts and lying (they lied to my face about not having that special earlier) - a HUGE turn-off! Makes this an average experience, down from a great one I thought I had. My advice - be wary of used car salesmen and dealerships, go for Beepi or Shift instead. Wayyyyyyyy more transparency and honesty! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would! I recently had the worst experience of any BMW dealership here. The service department was extremely rude especially my service advisor Steve. Well, after three months of dealing with their service department, I urge you to take your business elsewhere. I think the only reason I bought a second car from Weatherford is that I never had the first one serviced by them. Never has anyone so thoroughly convinced me they did not care at all about my business. I've owned seven BMW's, so I can tell you that in general BMW service is excellent - just not here. First trip was to have them do some detailing they owed me when I bought the car. They told me it was ready but when I arrived it took them 45 minutes to find my car. No one even apologized, just said "it's parked over there". I've now had to take it in two more times to fix issues they should have caught in the original inspection. Getting an appointment takes forever since they will never answer their phones. You have to wait for them to call you back at their convenience. When you arrive, things are unorganized, and the service advisors are a real mix. My first one was nice enough but my second one was downright rude. The second time they ended up charging me for a repair that should have been covered by maintenance, but because it took so long to get an appointment, they told me it's no longer covered. Finally, when I asked the service manager to call me and discuss - not once, but three times to date, he does not even bother to call. read more

This review is two-fold: I like the car I purchased but the experience buying it was awful. I did a significant amount of research beforehand so I knew the car I was going to look at was what I wanted if the test drive went well. After a quick drive, I got the typical "so would you like to buy it?" The salesman and his manager started out low balling my trade, maximizing my APR and not going down on the car. After an hour of negotiation we agreed on a deal. When I realized they only had one key to the car and no owners manual, I asked if they could get one of each for me. They told me they were stretched on the deal as is and rushed me through finance. I got the "hey we'll work on it" followed by "be sure to share your experience in a follow up survey call". Neither the survey or call from the dealership following up on the spare key, manual and experienced ever happened. What a joke! The salesman bragged the whole time about how many cars they sell and how great they are but they couldn't provide me with a simple spare key and owners manual to learn about the functionality of the car. Take my advice, go to East Bay BMW when shopping for a new car. read more

This place is as good as it gets. Wow. I started initially by talking to Paul over the phone. I don't know if any of you have ever spoken to a sales person over the phone (since I am one I feel okay saying this), typically they don't have time to spend as they are trying to close deals. Paul couldn't have been more professional, he spent a few days answering my questions, gave me his personal cell phone and even set an appointment with me via text message. I was running early that day, Weatherford has a great lounge/reception area to have a cup of coffee and a snack. Paul was there and ready for me on time, with much of our discussions already taking place we just needed to sit down and get to the numbers. He did walk me over to the car lot (by the way these guys have the biggest baddest selection of BMWs out of all the other dealers in the Bay Area I have seen) and we took a look at the car. It was perfect. Now, as I mentioned before, I am a sales guy, I did put Paul through some negotiations. He could not have been more professional, he structured a great deal for me and took the time to get me comfortable with the purchase, answering all my questions. I took about 2 hours of his time (all my fault, I kept asking questions), so much so that his next appointment came in! I offered to step aside and wait but Paul very kindly introduced the next appointment to another sales guy (who does that?) and stuck with me to the end. Wow. Once Paul and I shook I was off to Sammy (the finance guy). I have bought cars before and typically the money man is the guy to be careful of. Next thing you know you have paid double for what you agreed to before! Not the case with Sammy. Great guy, great experience. Quick and easy. I have to say, my last car purchase was from a private car lot, looking back it was so stressful, I left feeling anxious and annoyed... although I was happy with my car the process did not feel good at all... it felt like I just did something wrong! This process with Weatherford was a COMPLETE 180 degrees. Never pressured, never annoyed, always treated well. Wonderful facility, stand-up staff. Paul got me such a great deal in exactly what I was looking for so I probably won't be back for some time (unless I hit that lotto).... but when I am back on the market I will certainly be calling Paul. The guy has been doing it a long time. He knows the cars. He knows the business. He knows customer service. read more

This dealership is a joke. I met with a man namer Roberto who handles online sales Originally I had inquired about trading my Dinan 335xi coupe, which I own outright, in for a 750i. I got very short responses by email from Roberto and thought that I should meet, in person, the individual who was giving me so little attention online, what a mistake.... After speaking for about half an hour in which he would not even give me a trade in price on my vehicle we went to go look at some 2009 & 2010 750i's. My girlfriend was also looking for a used vehicle with another sales rep. While we were in the warehouse Roberto stopped me and explained that he needed me to choose a sales rep which I found very unprofessional. Since his time was soooooo valuable that I glady dismissed him and was helped by a nice gentlman named June. Afterwards I confronted Roberto with an email explaining how disappointed I was. To which he replied that he had heard many complaints about the OTHER sales person that helped me. Completely confounded I called Roberto, when he found out it was me he said that he was busy watching football and hung up on me. I hope for BMW's sake Roberto is FIRED, this experience will make me reconsider ever going back to Weatherford BMW and makes me regret buying a BMW in the first place. read more

I want to do a shout out to Darek at Weatherford BMW. I was having issues locating the perfect car, and without hesitation Darek stepped up to the plate. I live In Mountain View which is a trek to Berkeley, but Darek was so great, and even sent a Lyft to take me there! I was able to fill out all paperwork prior to even setting foot in the showroom. In and out within minutes with the car I had been dreaming of. I want to also thank Blair and Alyce for their assistance with this transaction as well. Everyone at this Dealership is amazing! They go above and beyond, and we all know that during these uncertain times, it's nice to have honest caring people to deal with. Being a BMW enthusiast, and CCA member, it was nice to work with other enthusiasts! Weatherford BMW has my vote hands down! read more

One star cause they don't have negative star ratings. Looked at a used car there for my Uncle who lives out of town. I was told that I needed to leave a check to hold the car but that it wouldn't be cashed. LIE. No problem. I understand that with nothing to hold me to the car, I could just walk away and they'd be holding a car they could've sold. My Uncle wired them the full sales price while waiting for the paperwork to be fed ex'd to and from him. That took almost 5 days!! Fed Ex is supposed to be overnite, right??! In the meantime, those scumbags cashed my check too! I was told by Andy Lukaszewski who sold me the car that a check would be waiting for me when I picked up the car. No check! What a surprise!' It was mailed out' he said. Another LIE. Called again a week later. 'Sorry, I'll look into it'. 'Finance says it will be mailed out so look for it in a couple days.' Another LIE. A month later, I'm still waiting for the check. It's the digital age. Whole countries have been overthrown using twitter and these fools can't manage to mail out a check for a lousy $1k?!? I filed a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I suggest everyone else do too. www.bbb.org These scumbags are making money off the interest they make holding our money and they have the nerve to post the pics of their staff here on yelp! Someone should tell them, the pics look like mug shots and none of them are pretty enough that anyone wants to see their faces. read more

My name is Jessica and here was my experience at this dealership: I annoyingly had to go to this particular bmw dealership for my sister for a front license plate installation. I only had to go because the car was under my name when we initially leased the car. So technically it's my car! As she drag myself and her boyfriend here (which he was hesitant to go btw...) we were helped by a couple nice gentlemen named Jon Heppler and Nino Guerra Gilmour. These two gentlemen were very professional and extremely informal and helpful! It took no longer than perhaps 25 minutes for get the the plates installed + carwash and they made our stay easy and genuinely seem like they care. It was a pleasent experience. These two gentlemen made our irritated annoying hassle of driving all the way from San Jose had made our day much brighter! Thanks you Jon and Nino! Please look out for these fellas if it having a bad day while visiting this awesome dealership. Jessica Out.. read more
Got my new coupe from Weatherford and I didn't experience the horrible service from the sales people as other reviewers. Surprisingly, it was the most painless and seamless car purchase transaction of my life. The sales person I dealt with, Roberto Roy, was SO mellow, I was actually wondering if he wanted me to even get the car. If my review was solely based on my experience with him, I'd definitely give him 5 stars. Very knowledgable about the car and its features, was friendly and didn't pull the car sales tactics on me. Made sure I was taken care of by all other departments as well (finance and detailing). I would recommend him to my friends and family. The reason why they're getting 2 stars from me is because of their service dept. In this regard, I have to agree with the other reviewers. I had to bring my car in for minor service a little while ago and it was the worst service ever. The service advisor didn't return my phone calls and I had to have my insurance company call him directly. By the time I picked up my car, I was even more pissed because they left me with a really dirty car and almost no more gas in my tank to drive off with. Next time I need service, I'm going elsewhere. read more

Bruce - the fleet manager - helped us out and we were very disappointed with the attitude and lack of service. A more appropriate description would be disinterest in helping us find the right car. When one 3 series wasn't the appropriate fit, Bruce did not want to help us find another. He was more interested in 5 or 7 series sales and someone who would provide him a higher commission. I recommend the BMW dealership in the city - BMW of San Francisco which is where I am headed to buy my car. read more

Welp, I finally got the car I've been eyeing for the past 6 months, thanks to Johnny at Weatherford BMW, Berkeley. One day I decided to test my luck and put in an inquiry on a brand new X4 - by far, the nicest one I've seen yet. So of course, I put my bid in via the BMW website and Johnny promptly reached out to me the same day. To my surprise, it was still in transit and therefore, had not arrived to the dealer yet. Johnny politely offered to keep me abreast on the status of the vehicle and promised to let me know when it became available for showing. I anxiously waited for a call back, which seemed like the longest 2 weeks I've ever experienced. Finally, as promised, I got call from Johnny as soon as the vehicle arrived to the dealer. Johnny was kind enough to set aside some extra time at the end of his shift and even waited for me to arrive to come look at the car. He let me test drive the car and it was literally love at first sight. I was certain I wanted to go home with this new beauty, and Johnny made it happen. He worked his magic and allowed me to stay within my budget and put me in a new car within minutes! This was definitely the smoothest car transaction I've ever experienced. Everything was seamless and painless to say the least. Weatherford BMW rocks, and a special thanks to Johnny for making the process enjoyable and stress-free. read more

I am a 5 time BMW owner with three of the vehicles being 7 series models. I have patronized BMW for the last 10 years exclusively. I have never paid more than 500.00 for any service or maintenance which includes replacing a soft close door with automatic window shade. Weatherford service department charged me 992.00 to replace the trunk latch. My car has the 100k warrantee. I was told it was not covered which I can accept. I cannot except I was charge 200-300.00 more for labor/parts. I checked with 3 other reputable BMW dealerships ( Concord, Sterling and Irvine) My invoice did not breakout cost of labor or assessment. I am reaching out to BMW of North America to file a formal complaint and if that does address the issue, I will take legal action. Kevin Rego was my sales adviser. He could not give me the breakdown and I was initially told the cost was 710.00 not 992.00. I will never go to Weatherford again and I encourage others to avoid them. This was my first time service visit with Weatherford and last. read more

History
Established in 1980.
At the foundation of Weatherford BMW is a desire to bring drivers in the greater Berkeley area an assortment of new and used cars capable of transforming everyday commutes into something a little more extraordinary. This is why we sell only new BMW models such as the X1, X2, X3, X5, 330, 430, 530, 530e, i3, 850, 750 and the all new X7 and mint-condition used cars. But, that simply wasn't enough. So, in addition to our new and used car inventories renowned across Oakland, San Leandro and Richmond, CA, we decided to add a BMW service center commanded by a team of experts hand-picked for their knowledge, passion and promise to treat every car as if it was their own... We also know there are still people set on doing it themselves: we added a genuine BMW parts shop. The logic? We want to make your life easier - put everything under one roof. We also want to help ensure that the extraordinary experience of owning a new BMW stands the test of time.

I honestly hate writing such a poor review after having what was initially a good experience here. Joe Combs was really good at communicating with me via email prior to coming into the dealership to look at the car I wanted to lease and for the cost. However, when I did finally come in, the car I was going to lease was no longer available (of course) and the other car options I had were to cost a little more in my monthly payments (naturally). After test driving the car, Joe worked with his financial department to put together numbers. They initially offered to buy out my current lease (from another manufacturer) and take it off of my hands, two months early to my lease ending. I was ecstatic about this! Joe came back with the numbers that were just slightly higher than I wanted (for money down). I told him I was still happy with moving forward and glad they were able to get close to what I initially wanted to pay. Joe then had me contact my current lease to find out the payout information on my car, so they could write them a check and take the car off of my hands. I gladly gave this information to Joe and his team. After this information was handled by their team, Joe came back with needing another $500 to put down - otherwise my payments would be much higher than I wanted. Though I was not happy about this news, I obliged because at the end of the day, they were still taking the old lease off of my hands and I was walking away with a new car. Getting into the financial paperwork is when the big sticker shock hit me. The finance guy recommended I pay the almost $2K package for protection on my lease, because my car has a 'lot of fiberglass parts that are prone to damage and BMW doesn't care if you lease another car from them - they will make you pay for the damages.' So I reluctantly obliged and shelled out another lump sum of money... The finance guy moved swiftly thru all of the paperwork, I paid my down payment & for the lease protection and drove off in my new car. Everything was golden for about a month - until my prior leasing agent contacted me with an outstanding balance & an attempt to collect a debt! I was in pure shock of receiving this information as I always had a good standing with my leasing agent. It turns out, BWM cut a check that was too short to my previous leasing agent to purchase the car and that they were refusing to pay or even call back my previous leasing agent. I had to find this news out myself. After much discussing with my previous leasing agent, they informed me that even if BMW refused to pay the outstanding balance due, it was my responsibility. What a joke! I contacted Joe & his manager, James - and I had to constantly reach out to both to get any sort of response back. I finally got Joe on the phone last week to tell me that 'they are working on it' and that he'd get back to me. A day later I called him and he said he would discuss it with his manager yet again (continued to be brushed aside). Finally his manager called and left me a voicemail, with utter lies that BMW contact MY leasing agent to find out the payout amount - and the wrong amount was given to them. That was a total lie - I was requested by BMW to contact my leasing agent to find out the payout amount. BMW instructed me on what to do and so I followed their steps and later slapped with an outstanding bill. I have since tried contacting both Joe & his sales manager via email and phone and no one has had the courtesy to call me back. This is just once again a reminder that car salespeople are some of the most bait & switch salespeople on the planet and continue to make the car industry one of which I hate shopping for. I will never purchase or lease another vehicle from this location again. Buyers beware!! read more

I have been a customer of Weatherford BMW since 2010. I have bought 3 BMWs and have traded in 3 cars to Weatherford BMW. I WILL NO LONGER BE A CUSTOMER OF WEATHERFORD BMW OR ANY OF ITS OTHER SISTER COMPANIES, SONEN BMW AND CONCORD BMW. After traveling the USA and getting to visit other BMW dealerships I realized that WEATHERFORD BMW is the worse example of what BMW North America wants. Then seeing how most comments on here YELP aren't in favor of WEATHERFORD BMW I find that my experiences aren't off point. It's not normal for sales people and managers to talk down to fellow workmates. This is how WEATHERFORD BMW runs things. I'm all about being proud where I shop. If its from eggs to buying a car, it matters to me where I buy it. Just hearing all the bickering at this dealership and how they talk to their employees just grossed me out. I didn't realize people get talked like this in the work place. Its especially bad when the general public hears it. I heard the manager Greg La Something threaten an employee with his job if something didn't get taken care of before lunch. Who threatens people like that? I was shocked to hear it and I said something under my breath and a salesman heard me and he said thats pretty normal around here with most the management. This whole experience made me examine WEATHERFORD BMW even more so. NOW REMEMBER, I am a happy customer with my cars. I am NOT unhappy with BMW. I am just in disgust with WEATHERFORD BMW. The management there seems to walk around there like they are untouchable. As if they are doctors and they cured cancer. Remember, you are just sales people. I was able to get some more information from employees of WEATHERFORD BMW. One tech told me that this past Christmas Bonus was cut from their budget because they were acquiring SONEN BMW. When you want families to come and buy from you that really leaves a bad taste in their mouths. You can't even take care of your own families but the managers can roll around in high budget demo cars. WHICH brings me to another point. One New York BMW dealership doesn't even give managers demo BMW cars. This is so the dealer can put more back into the dealership for their customers. Like as we all know WEATHERFORD BMW coffee stand is a joke. ALL the other BMW dealerships I went to had Starbuck's machines or coffee stands with real good pastries. I was told by several store managers that this is due to not having expensive demo BMW's for personal vehicles. WHICH at WEATHERFORD BMW, ALL managers have very nice demo BMW's. I even had other BMW store managers and service managers sit me down to hear how things are ran at WEATHERFORD BMW. They explained everything they could to me on how things should be ran. They were very shocked to hear and were very apologetic. I was also told that the way WEATHERFORD BMW conducts their CSI scores is improper. There should never be bribing to a customer for a high score. At WEATHERFORD BMW they are aren't afraid to bribe a high score from you. At one point WEATHERFORD BMW was giving cash spiffs to their sales people for good YELP reviews. Its amazing what you find out from employees. They were very embarrassed to hear my own personal experiences with my loaner car when I was in for service. I understand we are in Berkeley but does it mean that the car should smell like marijuana? I even got into a used car on WEATHERFORD's lot to find it smell like marijuana. This is a BMW dealership? THIS IS ONE DEALERSHIP THAT NEEDS MANAGEMENT HELP ASAP! BMW NORTH AMERICA STEP IN BEFORE ITS TOO LATE! read more

Level-set: Most of us dislike the car-buying process intensely, not necessarily just because of the transaction size and the associated heartburn (though that doesn't help), but because of the ridiculous spectacle that often showcases the most negative aspects of raw, pure capitalism. As a capitalist myself, it's not that I don't understand that all businesses need to earn a profit, I just dislike the unbridled dishonesty and bad behavior that typically accompanies the transaction. Most auto dealers (new or used) have very high turnover, and not only does this lead to a lack of continuity, but also makes it difficult for dealers to establish a consistent "culture." This certainly does not help the optics for the car buyer. Over years of car-buying, I have arrived at a personal policy - never go to the same dealer twice because the previous experience has always left a bad taste in my mouth. Until Weatherford BMW. I was led there in 2019 because I met one of the sales managers at a local BMW club driving event, and she was very smart, professional, and, well, not "salesy." Just good. When it was time to get a new car, she assigned me to a sales associate (Bobby, who was outstanding and also not "salesy") and I found myself a new car. I bought my first vehicle (2020 G20 M340i) there in 2019, and the sales process was painless. Everybody on the team (and at Weatherford, it's a team effort, from the sales associate to the guy prepping the car for delivery) is well trained, well-mannered (not syrupy, just polite) and interested in YOUR buying/genius/delivery/service experience. They listened to my needs, did not try to "steer" me away from my preference, and sold me an excellent car at an excellent price. Other than the mandatory set of inquiries about extended warranties and such, I was allowed (nay, welcomed) to buy the car I wanted - the way I wanted. Ok, so the car was great (it was a pandemic car, so it didn't see a ton of miles), and my service experience there was excellent and painless, but years later, it was time for me to address my lease (I ended up buying it out) and also prepare to eventually order another car. I was filled with dread, as I was sure everybody I had dealt with had left and I would be left to contend with a bunch of new folks I didn't know. Not so - most of the team remained (my original sales associate had been promoted), and more importantly, the culture was the exact same - all about maximizing customer experience but also working out a good deal/outcome for the customer, which is all most of us want. This time I was assigned to Kevin, who represents the Weatherford brand identity masterfully - responsive, informed, polite, communicative when needed, but never trying to "hurry the deal." I put a deposit on the car in late 2021, and as the car market started to shift dramatically toward the seller, they assured me that, during a period where I was ordering a new EV and every dealer was trying to mark these up by 10-15%, my original agreed-upon price would be honored. This stretched the bounds of my belief system, and yet when the car finally arrived in late-ish 2022, they honored EVERY commitment and made the buying process so pleasant and easy that I now prefer buying a car to going to the dentist. I purchased the car, and thus far their follow-up has been stellar. Bottom line, I didn't like car buying and I didn't like/trust car DEALERS, and Weatherford has changed me on both fronts. Highly recommend them. read more

UPDATE: It's so funny to see that someone posted 5 star review on James Whittenburg immediately after my bad review on him on 12/1/2015. Important thing note here is that this person have not had any positive reviews after Jan 2013 (when he seemed to be working in Finance dept. and not in Sales). My advice is next time if someone writes a bad review on you atleast wait for few days to before getting a positive review written :-) I didn't want to malign anyone's image with my review but just share my experience. If you had taken responsibility for your behavior then there was a possibility that I would have deleted my review on yelp but instead it seems you've chosen to cover it up by getting, if I may say, a fake review written. Original Review posted on 12/1//2015: I recently have had a really bad (very unprofessional) experience working with this dealership. I was looking for a certified X5 and they happened to have one that I liked. But since they were asking for too much money (in my opinion), l didn't want to buy that. But the sales guy (let's leave his name out as I don't think he was at fault) kept following up with me. Then finally we agreed on a price. It was Saturday and we finalized things at @ 2:20pm on the phone. So I arranged for a cab to get there as I live near San Jose and told the sales guy that I'd be at the dealership by 5pm. On my way, I even asked him to send me the VIN # of the vehicle since I wanted to buy an insurance. So he did. When I reached the dealership around 5pm, I texted him to let him know that I was there. He said he would be there in few mins as he was with another customer. He came back at around 5:20pm and then went inside the dealership. Few minutes later he came back with his sales manager, James Whittenburg. The sales manager says to me "sorry but we sold that vehicle". So I said "what do you mean?". He said "we sold it an hour ago". Then I said "why didn't you call me? I was coming here to buy that vehicle which your sales guy & I agreed on 2 hours ago." Then the sales manager said "We just sold it 5 mins ago. Another sales guy shook hands with a customer". I said "I've been at the dealership for about 25 mins, why didn't you let me know? And how can you sell it to someone else when you committed that vehicle to me?". Then he said "oh, I have 25 sales people". Now that is not my problem that you can't even keep track of who is selling what. I said I paid $200 for a cab just to get here and your sales guy made a commitment to me. Then the sales manager arrogantly says "it's not his problem that I took a cab to get there". The sales manager James was very arrogant in his behavior. Even though he said he's sorry few times but it was so clear from his face that he didn't mean any of that. Now that "sorry" really doesn't count, does it? You want to buy a vehicle (especially used one) from a dealership you can trust. And when someone at the dealer can't even keep their word what's the guarantee that they will honor any of the commitments they made to you while selling the vehicle. If you absolutely must go to this dealership, I'd say stay away from dealing with James Whittenburg. read more

Please be careful they have very deceptive sales practices here. Not more then 5 minutes after posting this, Weatherford BMW has taken down the add from Autotrader.com !!!!!!! That only took 4 days, I wonder how many people went there wanting to buy that car? I found a car on autotrader.com that Weatherford BMW was advertising last week April 26, 2010. After talking it over with my husband we decided to send an email to the Internet Sales MGR Roberto Roy 510-761-6075 on Friday May 30, 2010 at 11:48am. Stating we did not want to waste his time or ours and made an offer on the vehicle. At 3:27pm Friday Mr. Roy emailed us back and said he would take the offer. I called and left a message for Mr. Roy that we would be in Saturday to check the car and complete the agreement. We did not get a call back that night. Saturday morning my husband called Mr. Roy at 11:30am and asked if the car was still available. Mr. Roy put him on hold for a few minutes and then told us the car was there. We told Mr. Roy that we would drive 90 minutes to see him and would arrive at 1:30pm Mr. Roy said he would be there. When we arrived Mr. Roy said the car was not available and it was sold last night. What? He then proceeded to tell me that he tried to email me and let me know but for some reason did not have our phone number. I asked Mr. Roy " Why did you tell me you had the car when I called you at 11:30am this morning" he replied in front of my wife and 2 other sales people " I always tell people we have the car" He then started to offer me other vehicles to look at. Mr. Roy did send an email to advise that the car was not available, but we had already left. Mr. Roy said he did not have a phone number to call us. Another lie, as the email we sent him to inquire about the car, and the next email we sent him to make an offer had our Cell phone number in the email. Mr. Roy felt as though it was not his fault we drove all the way to his dealership as he tried to contact us with an email and we should have email linked with our cell phone. As if it was our fault he did not tell us the truth the first time we called. And , why did he not bother to call us the night before knowing we had emailed an offer if the vehicle was being sold that night. My husband's response to that was" Don't deceive people into thinking you have a car, let them drive 3 hours, waste gas and toll and their time because you want to get them on the lot to sell a different car! Do you really think we want to buy a car from Weatherford BMW now that you lied to us! As of today Weatherford BMW has taken the car (a 2004 BMW M3 Convertible, Silver with vin ending in PK07092) off their website, 5 minutes after posting this review Weatherford BMW has taken down the add from Autotrader.com that only took them 4 days! Don't know about you, but I would never buy a car from this dealership or Mr. Roberto Roy. If anyone wants a copy of the emails that we sent and the email Mr. Roy sent, just ask we are happy to share the information to protect you from deceptive selling practices. read more

While we don't comment online very often, our great experience at Weatherford BMW compelled us to write this review. We came here to purchase a CPO BMW without expecting much and it turned out to be a pleasant and exciting experience. At every step of the way, we were treated with respect and patience. Every concern of ours was addressed and every question answered. We are especially grateful to Mostafa and Erin in the Sales Department who relentlessly worked with us through multiple hours of selections and deliberations. Erin patiently navigated us through six full test drives as we were considering various engines and packages. She readily explained car features and subtle differences between trims. She was able to spontaneously modify the driving test route so that we could test certain features of the car - from highway acceleration to handling tight corners. Definitely ask Erin if you have any questions about a new or CPO BMW. After spending a few hours test-driving with Erin, Mostafa took us under his wing to assist us with the decision-making. We had multiple concerns and inquiries based on our prior research and experience with BMW's. Mostafa was fluent with every aspect of our questioning from mechanical parameters, to manufacturer's service bulletins, to the subtle aspects of warranty agreements. A real professional, Mostafa didn't show any sign of impatience and was able to quickly pull up supporting documents and references. Of course, negotiating the deal is a very individual experience. In our case, working with Mostafa turned out to be a positive and productive process. At every step, we were treated with dignity and respect. There was never any pressure or games. The whole process was very amicable ending in full satisfaction - no buyer's remorse. Once we reached an agreement, the rest of the affair was streamlined and easy. What really impressed us is the standard of care that Mostafa exhibited at the tail end of the purchase. After the deal had already been negotiated, Mostafa examined faint imperfections in the vehicle paint and insisted that the affected area get refinished by the Service Department at no additional cost to us. Honestly, the car had very few miles on it and we were ready to drive it away as is. Mostafa firmly stood behind the BMW name and expressed that they do care about the quality of the vehicles that leave Weatherford BMW's lot. We will be coming back to have the paint corrections completed in the next few days at no cost. We are very pleased with the car that we purchased and the overall experience. We were able to test every model in which we were interested and had every resource at our disposal to make an educated decision. The staff made the overall process enjoyable and effective. We anticipate a long-term relationship with Weatherford BMW. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate to start here and make sure to speak with Mostafa and Erin. read more

The thought of buying a new vehicle can be stressful and overwhelming. From deciding on the model, going through the features, and then comparing prices can be very daunting to say the least. Last week I had made the decision to purchase a pre-certified BMW. Rather than spend aimless hours going from dealer to dealer, I decided that I would narrow my search online, perusing dealer websites looking at available inventory. Living in the Bay area, I combed thru several of the main dealerships, but it became apparent really quickly that Weatherford in Berkeley had what I found to be the best and most comprehensive selection of pre-owned BMW certified cars. I easily found the model and color I was seeking, and Weatherford had done a great job in highlighting the vehicles attributes, everything from feature set, VIN to pricing all at my fingertips. Further, I really liked that I was able to see a selection of 40+ pictures on the specific vehicle I was interested in purchasing, not to mention even a video of the car; truly a class act all the way. I called Weatherford at 9AM and was delighted to be connected to a salesperson immediately; I began working with Renold. Renold let me know that the vehicle I was interested in was available, and that he could work around my schedule for me to come into take a look and to test-drive the car. I had let him know that should we come to terms on a deal that day, that I already had my financing in order. He mentioned that he could most likely beat the rate my bank had quoted me, and after submitting the easiest loan form imaginable, he told me know that I would qualify for BMW financing, saving me roughly 3 points on the APR. So already feeling really great about this dealership and my salesperson, Renold - great inventory, pricing, and really helpful folks who I felt weren't trying to strong-arm me into a purchase. Upon inspection of the vehicle, it even surpassed my expectations - car simply looked, drove and even smelled brand new! We quickly came to terms on an agreeable price and I've got to say that working with Renold was a breeze and a real pleasure, bypassing the typical adversarial back and forth that usually encompasses this type of transaction. I would be amiss if I didn't also point out the finance Manager, James, was also really great to work with - he had the patience to answer all of my questions, and to show me all the various options available to save money by pre-paying for extended maintenance plans etc. Let's face it; it's great to have peace of mind knowing that you are covered for the unexpected. This was truly one of those great purchasing moments when everything aligned and in such a timely manner; from my initial call in the morning to when I was driving off the lot took no longer than just a few short hours. Couldn't be happier with Weatherford and Renold, not to mention the GREAT BMW I just purchased! read more

Weatherford BMW provided an extremely professional and courteous experience in both their service and sales departments. Service: In April 2012, I had a breakdown driving back from Napa, CA and had to have my 00 323ci (E46) towed to Weatherford BMW. It was after normal business hours for the sale department, so I parked the vehicle and placed my information, description of the incidents, and vehicle key in their overnight service drop box. Weatherford BMW's Service Advisor, Mr. Richard Angelis, contacted me on Monday and provided an overall assessment of the vehicle and recommended service. Having recently moved to the area, there was no local service history at Weatherford BMW, however, Mr. Angelis reached out to my most recent BMW service sites on the East Coast for historical information in order to provide a detailed course of action/options for maintenance. Within 1.5 days, Weatherford BMW was able to order, deliver, and replace the drive shaft assembly at an extremely reasonable price with a complimentary wash and detailing upon completion. Mr. Angelis was customer service oriented and made to time to greet me and explain the scope and nature of the maintenance. Sales: In May 2012, I decided to trade-in my aforementioned vehicle for a pre-owned 09 M3 (E92) and had the great pleasure to work with Mr. Boris Star as my Sales Manager and Mr. James Whittenburg as my Finance Manager. Having made my decision towards a pre-owned vehicle for purchase, Mr. Star, was extremely knowledgeable in providing all financial options available for consideration, to include the differences amongst the model lines from the standard 3-Series to inbound new M5. Mr. Star listened to my interests and preferences and tailored the purchase experience to suit my needs, specifically on what vehicle best matched my financial situation, lifestyle, driving habits, and future plans. Having narrowed to purchase of a pre-owned M3, Mr. Star, offered a test-drive to include full-explanations of all standard features and options on the vehicle, a walk-thru of the service history, and existing maintenance/warranty plans associated with the vehicle. When we finalized the trade-in and credit history, Mr. Whittenburg, was able to offer an even better local finance option, specific to Weatherford BMW, which my current lender, USAA, could not match. In fact, the difference in savings allowed for me to extend the maintenance/warranty plan on the vehicle. Both Mr. Star and Mr. Whittenburg were extremely professional, yet personable and could not have found a better experience. In addition, following purchase, Weatherford BMW, has contacted me for any follow-up issues/questions on the M3 and overall just to ensure that their service was consistent with what is expected out of BMW. Thanks and hopefully this was helpful in providing some baseline information on Weatherford BMW for your consideration. read more

This review is for Roberto Roy and Boris Star!! I have leased 3 BMW machines from Weatherford BMW all from my Client Advisor ROBERTO ROY over the last 12 years. A few months ago before my lease was about to end Roberto contacted me regarding my lease-end options and I took his advice to place an order for a new X5. About 6 weeks after placing my order I received a telephone call from Roberto informing me that he was no longer employed at Weatherford BMW. I asked him would that change the "deal" that he and I had agreed on regarding the return of my lease and the lease quote on the new X5 and he assured me that it would not. I asked him could he have the dealership place in writing the agreement that he had promised me and he told me that he could not but to please trust him like the other 3 lease transactions that we conducted. At that point I did not have a good feeling because although I trust Roberto I have had no dealings with any other Weatherford employees in the Sales Department except for Roberto; he always took care of me even made my service appointments for me. I must have called Roberto about 5 or 6 times asking him to assure me that he had made the necessary arrangements for a smooth delivery and in all of our conversations he would just tell me "trust me, everything will be fine". Roberto told me that he would select a Client Advisor from the Sales Department to deliver my X5 to me when it arrived. 2 weeks later I received a call from Boris Star informing me that my X5 was 1 week from arriving at the dealership and that he would take care of my delivery I asked him did Roberto discuss our agreement and he told me yes and that nothing would change from Roberto's lease quote on the X5. 5 days later Boris called me and we set an appointment to return my current lease and take delivery of my new X5. The day before I was to meet Boris at the dealership I called Roberto and told him that I was concerned regarding taking delivery of the X5 being that I had nothing in writing and that I was afraid that they would "bait and switch" me in regards to price once I arrived for my appointment. Roberto asked me what time was my appointment at Weatherford and he told me that he would meet me at the dealership. The next day when I arrived at Weatherford Roberto was waiting for me on the showroom floor and he introduced me to Client Advisor Boris Star, Sales Manager Rafael Macia, and Finance Manager David Manalo. They took my lease-return with no charges for the return and had all the lease paperwork ready for me on the new X5 and all the numbers were just like Roberto had promised. THANK YOU Roberto, Thank you Boris, Thank you Rafael, Thank you David and Thank you Weatherford BMW! read more

Just leased a new X6. I had been working with Chris Phan via email so he knew what I was looking for. When I arrived Chris was busy working with another customer. He immediately came over with another gentleman named Jon Heppler. I hate being handed over but I hate waiting around more so it made sense for Chris to make sure I was getting help. Jon took us to the used lot first and allowed us to test drive an X5 and said we could anything wanted afterwards. I wanted to compare to an X6 so we drove one of those as well. We finally sat down and ran some numbers on various X6 combinations and found one that worked. I think he was ready to close but I told him that I do not make snap decisions and wanted to think about it but would decide over the next week. He was fine with that and offers to send other X6 options he had from Concord and Marin BMW as they own those dealerships as well. I left the dealership pretty much sold on the X6 but want to test drive an Audi SQ5. We drove over to Audi and asked for the manager. I had been in contact with her online and stated that I would be coming in. My wife and waited around for 30 minutes until a salesman finally came out to help us. He was new so I'll give him a small break but we waiting another 15 minutes for them to bring out the only SQ5 they have in stock. That being said the SQ5 is beautiful and fast. I was close to changing my mind. When we finally sat down and ran numbers the payments came in much higher on a vehicle with less features. We asked him to print them up for us. He left and returned and gave us the rookie version of the hard sell. "How can I get you out of hear with a car today?" There was the turn off sales pitch. I said I wasn't going to make a snap decision and he then added "I've been here a month and haven't sold a car yet". I felt sorry for SOB but that wasn't going to make me buy a car. Like Jon from BMW he said he'd be in contact with me during the following week. I never heard from this guy again. Meanwhile Jon stayed in contact and check out a number of cars for me. I find the X6 I wanted at Eastbay BMW. Jon was able to execute a trade to get the car to Weatherford. I went to the dealer yesterday and picked it up. They were busy and had just implement at new CRM system so the process took longer than I would have liked but fortunately there was a Giant's game to watch in the meantime. Took my new X6 home last night. Got an email today thanking me for may business and making sure I was happy with everything. Needless to say Jon at Weatherford BMW kept me in a bimmer when I might have read more

I am writing this review in regards to the service performed and received to my boyfriend's car in mid January. This place is really good except for a few bad apples but every company has them even mine so I cant dock to many stars from this review. Richard my service adviser was extremely helpful, he listened to all of my concerns about my vehicle (peeling interior trim, tire light, and the replacement of an exhaust tip plus standard service) and got it all done in one day, very impressive especially when I had seen how many cars were in the driveway(a lot). There shuttle service was really convenient and the kid who picked me up was very polite and quite knowledgeable, I was truly impressed he didn't look any older then 17 and he was able to tell me everything that was done to my car. When I got there it was still busy, but Richard quickly and in an easy to understand way explained everything that was done to my boyfriend's car( this made it really easy to explain to my boyfriend. Richard got my car washed and brought up and sent me over to the cashier. This is where my experience at Weatherford went down hill, the overweight b*tch cashier greeted me with a sigh and a frown. Hello lady we are in a lousy economy BE HAPPY THAT YOU HAVE A JOB! I had to pay a hefty bill to replace the tires. Giving my money to someone who looks and acts like they are completely unsatisfied with their job not to mention very rude doesn't make it any easier for me. She handed me the keys and that was it, I didn't even get a customary non meaningful "have a nice evening" from her. If it wasn't for the cashier's inability to provide a pleasant "end" to my service I would have given Weatherford 5 stars. Long story short avoid the cashiers at this place, they will ruin it all. To be honest it seems like even there coworkers are fed up with they rudeness and antics as well. Hopefully the managers can rectify the problem, I believe my boyfriend's car is due for an oil change in July. I am going to ask him if I can take the car in instead of him to see if I get the same customer service from that cashier that i did in January. I know some people just have those bad days but come on you really ruined my experience that day, quit your job if it gets under your skin that bad. You are doing nothing but harm to your self and the company you work for. read more

Disappointing Service Experience I've been a loyal BMW owner for years, but my experience with BMW Weatherford in Berkeley has been deeply frustrating. Over the course of four years, I repeatedly asked them to address a fuel tank pressure sensor issue in my that should have been covered under my extended warranty. They kept insisting there was no issue with the sensor, yet continued to perform unnecessary and unrelated services instead. Even after I provided documentation from another BMW service center confirming the issue, they still denied the repair and told me to return again for yet another paid check-up. At one point, I was told the engine light would just keep coming on, and that I should simply stop by occasionally so they could clear the codes... As the second owner, I requested access to the vehicle's full service history, especially since the car had always been serviced at Weatherford. That's when I discovered the previous owner had experienced the exact same issue. Weatherford had performed repairs totaling more than half the car's value, replacing nearly every part mentioned in related BMW forum threads, yet the fuel sensor was mentioned in the papers but had never been addressed. The previous owner even provided me with a second-opinion report confirming the sensor was covered under warranty. All this was completely ignored. Again, I was asked to pay more for another check-in. I also requested the service records copies and, unsurprisingly, was denied access. Over the years, I've been dismissed, brushed off, and never treated with fairness, kindness, or professionalism. I couldn't help but wonder: Is this just about making money, or is it how they treat someone with an accent like mine? Like the previous owner, I spent thousands of dollars (and as a schoolteacher, these expenses were a heavy burden), trying to fix problems that never actually existed. Thankfully, I eventually brought my car to BMW Fairfield, where they diagnosed and replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor under warranty in just three days. Their service was professional, respectful, and efficient, a complete contrast to my experience at Weatherford. My engine light has never come on since. This is my third BMW, and until now, I've never had an experience that made me question the brand. I truly hope no one else has to go through what I did. read more

This is a rating on BUYING a car. I will write a review for service later when I experience that part. First off buying a car is usually a pain in the ass. I'm a middle aged guy and have bought a few cars in my time and I rarely look forward to the experience. Information is key as well as patience. It's a delicate balance on being respectful to the people that are selling cars and you that is buying one. They are people too and they have lives, wives and families to feed as well. I started off at Weatherford because it's the closest to me and is where my father bought my mother her BMW when I was in high school. This is my first purchase of a car in this class. When I got there I was greeted by Andy. He wasn't pushy. Cool kid and was patient while me and my brother looked around. Then we left after swapping some info. A couple days later I went back and started to work some numbers with Jun on an 09 3 series. My deal was more complicated than most as it included an Audi lease trade in. It was looking good for awhile but the numbers just didn't quite work for me so I moved on and shopped around. A few days passed and I got a call from Andy and Jun. I was pretty firm in what I was willing to pay and they understood that. It's not really a game this back and forth, it's just business. Yeah it sucks but they are trying to make money and we are trying to save money so it's a natural part of buying a car. If they ask you to come in at this stage do it. Yes it's sales 101 tactics to get the customer in the showroom but it is also the best opportunity to work a deal as you are physically there. It also shows you are serious and willing to buy. In the end we compromised more in my favor and I was happy with the deal. Jun and Andy were great to deal with and the closer guy and the manager treated me well also. I can't recall their names. Overall the experience consumed about 7 hours of my time. I got a follow up call today from Jun. He was checking in to see if I was happy. Yes Jun, I am. So far my opinion of Weatherford is higher than most here. Maybe they're trying to change their ways. I don't know but my experience so far is a positive one. If you deal with Weatherford I would deal with Andy and Jun and no one else. Be patient. Know the facts of the market and the car you want and you should have a similar experience. read more

I had a fantastic experience buying a new BMW at Weatherford. I let them know that I wasn't in a rush and I wanted to wait for the 'right' deal. My salesperson Darek H. listened carefully to my needs and offered to keep me up to date on cars that matched what I was looking for. For more than five months, Darek stayed in contact with me (at my request) and provided me with occasional updates as cars came in to his fleet. At least two other BMW dealers I spoke to seemed more interested in making an immediate sale than making the customer happy. Eventually, one of the cars Darek recommended was exactly what I was looking for at a price that was within the budget I had specified. He didn't try to sell me more car than I needed. This was exactly the kind of car buying experience that I was looking for: low pressure, interactive and simple. What was most important to me about my experience with Darek was that he was honest. He explained exactly which elements of the process may cost me more money and where I might be able to save money. He has an incredible knowledge of BMWs which was useful as I was looking across multiple years and models. He answered all of my questions--many were through email which was very convenient for me. I felt like he treated me like family and took a genuine interest in making sure I was satisfied with my car purchase. I didn't have to play any negotiating 'games' as I had with other car purchases. Darek's (and Weatherford's) transparency throughout the process gave me a lot of confidence that I wasn't getting screwed over. Towards the end of the car buying process I told them that I needed the car shipped to Texas. Not only did Darek arrange for quick (covered) transport of the car to Austin, but the Weatherford back office did all the necessary paperwork to register the car for me in Texas. I got my license plates and window stickers mailed to me by the Texas DMV--all of which was arranged by Weatherford. During the time the car was being shipped from the lot, Darek kept me informed of its whereabouts so I knew when to expect delivery. Having been through high pressure car buying situations before, working with Darek and Weatherford was a welcome change of pace. I highly recommend going to see them if you are looking for an honest, friendly car buying experience. read more

Ok, let me start by saying that I'm self employed and pride myself on providing my clients with stellar customer service, so it's rare that I'm satisfied with the level of service that most companies provide to me, many of which couldn't even spell customer service! This was certainly not the case when I met Maurice and team at Weatherford's remote body repair shop in Oakland, here's why... I bought my BMW from Weatherford a few years back and they're the one's that I bring it to for maintenance and service appointments. When I got into of a fender bender on the freeway a few months ago, Weatherford was naturally my top choice for repairs. I won't mention any names, but let's just say my insurance company got a "triple F" in service, most of which was due to one asshole adjuster. His very first call to me started with him telling me that he got to an argument with my repairmen and he was just going to send me a check for what HE thought the repairs were worth and I'd have to cover the difference between that and what my shop was estimating repairs to me... "Ummm, come again?" Long story short, this guy was a total nightmare to even have a phone convo with and Maurice pretty much confirmed that when I called him a few minutes later. I actually felt bad that he even had to talk with this guy. Without getting into the dirty little details, I knew that if this adjuster was giving me, the consumer, such a hard time then I'm sure Maurice and team were likely catching of the insurance-hell from this bitter little man. Not only did Maurice stay professional and not complain about this guy, he made it seem like it wasn't something that I should be bothered with and reassured me that he would handle this. Additionally he helped get my loaner car setup, transfer my belongings to it, and all while maintaining a smile and a friendly demeanor. In what was originally lining up to be quite the nightmare to go through, Maurice and the fellas at West Grand Ave handled with tact and professionalism. They managed to take some of the stress off my plate and it reminded me that the actual car is only part of what you sign up for when buying a Weatherford BMW, and why my next one will be purchased from them as well. Hat's off to you gentlemen, keep up the good work! read more

Buying a car is stressful by nature. Anytime you are spending thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars you are going to have concerns and be worried that your money is being well spent. I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of meeting Boris Star who made both me and my father feel like we were old friends, and made the car buying experience as pleasurable as it can be. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted when I went in to Weatherford BMW, and Boris was simply awesome about making sure I knew everything possible to make the most informed choice. Before I get into the details of my purchase experience, I should first note that Boris is a Russian gentleman who immediately struck it off with me and my Dad. By the time we left (in an awesome CPO 2010 X5), it felt like we were all old friends. Boris even assured me that he would answer his phone 24-7, and I believe him. He seems like that kind of a guy. I was concerned that when we got to the dealer they might try and upsell us to a new car or a car more expensive than I could afford, but Boris didn't. He listened to what I had to say, then presented me with everything he had that met my criteria. I already knew the basics about the different packages and options available, but Boris's expertise really showed when it came down to the intricacies and nuances of each specific model. He was able not just to explain the different options to me, but the differences in model years as well. This is especially important if you are buying a CPO. For example, the 2009 and 2010 technology packages are different. Boris can tell you what the differences are. All in all, I highly recommend Weatherford BMW's sales department. Everyone else I worked with at Weatherford (the trade-in manager, the finance manager, and Boris) were pleasant and made the whole process as easy and pleasant as possible. Boris made us feel like we could depend on him going forward. I hope I won't have to buy another car for a few more years, but provided the service department provides good service over the next few years, then I will definitely return to Weatherford for my next car purchase. read more

Fantastic! That is my description of the experience I had at Weatherford BMW of Berkeley. On three separate occasions I visited Weatherford in pursuit of buying a car. Five years ago I was looking to purchase a car for my daughter. I stopped in unannounced and received a grand tour of the available cars in my budget range. No pressure and no hassles. Although I didn't make a purchase, I always kept the pleasant experience in mind. More recently, I was in the car market again. I took my time selecting a car, comparing different makes and models. I was looking for a versatile vehicle that had style, performance and some utility characteristics. I wasn't sure I would find it but I gave it a go. I viewed and test drove several car models at dealerships from San Jose to Sacramento during a span of 3 months. I actually walked out of two dealerships because of poor service. I was left waiting at the front counter for 25 minutes at one location. I decided to head back to Weatherford to look at a couple of BMWs (X5 and X6). Again unannounced, I browsed around a few of the cars and a service person told me he would have a sales person to meet me. Once again I was given a tour of the available cars and was allowed to go through the cars to satisfy my questions. I liked both the X5 and X6 with the edge going to the sportier and smaller X6 with a hatchback feature. I decided to think over my options before making my final choice. On my way out, I looked closer at the 550i GT. This car had it all, style, performance versatility. A great feature that appealed to me was the dual trunk hatchback. Lastly, it didn't look like a SUV. I made the third and last visit to Weaterford, I test drove the GT and X6. I decided to purchase the GT. Thanks to "Mr. easy going" John Meier. He was patient and cordial. He should be your next contact to buy a BMW. After doing the paperwork on the purchase, we found out (computer records) he was also the person assisting me when looking to buy a car for my daughter. That first contact certainly set the tone for a purchase some five years later. A bit lengthy here, but go see John! read more

I was a little overly upset coming home on a hot day and not picking up my car as I left it as I had planned and having to call other dealerships to double check if what was said to me was standard policy at other dealerships as well ( I was unable to verify that it was standard practice (one dealership said it was not)(to take the car out on a longish ride after an oil replacement)), but I do not think the service manager was trying to lie to me here.) In the end the service people and service manager were very professional did everything he could do, I am not exactly sure how everything works but had I known I would have asked that they allow me to drive the car home for 5 miles until any "pinging" stops etc....The serice people are nice enough and aim to please, I can't in good heart slam anyone here over this 'small' issue, don't get me wrong it had me pissed and was a bad experience, but they did offer allot to try to make things right and make me happy so Im going to bump it up to a 4 I guess? I thought I had it at one lol initially either way live and let live I suppose things kinda worked out, we don't have enough good days on this earth to spend even one afternoon being out of sorts over small things...I have to always remeber/ remind myself to enjoy life and not hand onto anger/ negativity if overall everything is fine, was a little upset at the time and needed to vent and came out over the top a bit, still take it for what it is I personally don't trust people touching my car unless I meet them first and have good experiences/ know that they give a darn and are super careful with my car(s) i.e. Paint chip knick that I did not put into the cart was not there but was there after I took back the car, even pointed it out. Lucky it was in the bottom corner of the door and was easy to use touch up paint in such an area and did so. They ordered me some OEM touch up paint. Thats the full story I hope my Karma is restored, even if I had a good gripe... read more

Exemplary Service and Unmatched Attention to Detail by Kevin Thomas My wife and I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a 2024 X7 from Weatherford, and our experience was truly exceptional, all thanks to our outstanding salesman Kevin Thomas. From the moment we started the custom ordering process back in April, to the exhilarating day we drove our new BMW home, Kevin's dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail shone brightly. Kevin's extensive knowledge of BMW vehicles was evident throughout the entire process. He patiently guided us through the various packages and purchase options, ensuring that we made an informed decision tailored to our preferences and needs. His passion for BMW cars was contagious, and it made us even more excited about our purchase. What truly set Kevin apart was his unwavering commitment to ensuring our complete satisfaction. He went above and beyond to accommodate our busy schedules, maintaining communication in ways that were convenient for us. He meticulously addressed every question and concern, leaving no stone unturned. It was evident that he genuinely cared about making this experience smooth and enjoyable for us. Even on delivery day, the exceptional service didn't waver. We were introduced to Kevin's BMW genius Sundar who took the time to walk us through every feature of our new X7, ensuring we were comfortable with all the new technology and functions. His enthusiasm and expertise reaffirmed that we had chosen the right dealership. In a world where customer service can sometimes be lacking, Kevin Thomas truly stands out as a shining example of what exceptional service should be. We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase and owe it all to Kevin and his team. Without a doubt, we will recommend him to our friends and family, and anyone in search of a BMW should look no further than Kevin Thomas for a seamless, enjoyable, and memorable car-buying experience. read more
