This review is not for the service of Weathermakers. This review is for Weathermakers' choice to build an AI bot "Allison" to reach out to customers. I just was "robocalled" by the bot which was really alarming and off-putting as it was trying to pretend to be a human. It wasn't until I called it out and asked directly, "Are you human or an AI bot?" that it admitted it was "a friendly AI created by Weathermakers". I hung up. I've used Weathermakers over 20 years... Installed two complete units and they must've sold because I had a full parts and labor warranty for 10 years each and my last repair they charged me over $100 service fee. I had the opportunity to replace it again and went with B-Sain a/c that did a fabulous job for thousands less with full warranty. Good luck if you choose them. read more

Another thorough and helpful visit today! Weathermakers helped us years ago with a replacement system (the whole AC system). We have the routine maintenance plan so we never have surprises. Weathermakers put simply is fantastic! I purchased my house three years ago, and their sticker was on my unit, so I took a chance. Their service is prompt, thorough, and done right every time. I had to replace my central AC and not only were they very accommodating, their pricing is extremely competitive. They came in and did the end-to-end install in 6 hours. Their install technicians were very courteous and did not mind me asking questions. The installed unit was done with extreme care, and the attention to detail was impeccable. We called Weathermakers Monday morning because our AC stopped working in the middle of the night on Sunday. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful and promised to fit us in some how. She said she was able to get someone out to us in the afternoon. Matt called at 11 am and said he's on his way. Matt arrived promptly and was able to diagnose the problem, a blown condenser, on a year old unit! Who would have thought! Matt did and was able to get us up and cooling again. This company (Weathermakers) was working at our neighbors place, replacing the duck work for the 2nd time as they had installed the wrong size duck work for the unit they had installed. I was having trouble with our duck work not blowing enough air. I asked for an estimate. They gave me a written estimate, where they would tear out the old duck work and replace with new. The job total was $3200. They seemed nice and honest so we went with the estimate. Last week our AC unit went. I called Weathermaker's for an estimate on replacing the unit. I also called another company Air Masters of Pinellas Inc. Air Masters estimate was a $1,000 cheaper for the same name brand unit. I asked Bob @ Air Masters, how much it would have been if I had needed duck work. He said it would have been $800-$1,000 more for the duck work. As, you can see, I paid 3 times that. I called the owner of Weathermaker's (Chip) and explained I felt we had been a victim of Price Gouging and Elder Abuse. (we are 77 & 60) The owner (Chip) was rather rude, stating. Does this other company have new trucks on the road? (yes they do) Do they pay their employees dental insurance? I said so you charge 3 times the amount to pay for these employee benefits? Write if off on your taxes. He's states, I still have to pay for it. I said at this point, I called you first to give you the opportunity to right a wrong. I am reporting this to the BBB and Attorney General. His final words to me were, "GO AHEAD". Now that is an honest and caring Business Owner! NOT!!! I had this review posted on Yelp a while back. I was going to post it on Weathermaker's web site itself. I guess reviews are no longer welcomed on their site. Hmm, I wonder why? Weathermakers replaced my home furnace and central air conditioner about a month ago. This was not an emergency so I had time to gather some estimates and talk with a few HVAC companies. Dave the owner seemed very knowledgeable and gave me a competitive quote. I had read good reviews about the Carrier system he was offering. So I chose Weathermakers for my install. Let me say first....I am a detailed oriented person (maybe a little OCD) and let me tell you...I was thrilled with the quality of work I received from them. Joe ran the installation crew and these guys got the job done in a day and every installation detail was perfect and clean. My new Carrier system is awesome and I would highly recommend these guys...you will not regret the decision. Great product, great price, great customer service. They checked all the boxes. Haven't given a review since our installation summer 2017- the rep who came out to give us an estimate was very profesional, friendly & informative,(sorry can't remember names)- install was done on time, those workers also very profesional and again friendly- inspection failed only because the city wanted more tape & the staff was apologetic & came right out to place the needed tape & passed inspection- today, Feb 2018 came home from work & the air wouldn't turn on- called the on call number & the technician immediately knew the problem, it was the pre-existing drain that was clogged- he walked me through what needed to be done & the issue was resolved in about 10 minutes- love this company! I've been a customer of Weathermakers for 20 years but no more. If you buy their yearly service package beware. We had a drain pipe back up so their charge was $320 on top of the $200+ yearly service package. The only reason I gave them 2 stars was the serviceman who came, crawled under the house to fix the drain line that wasn't properly put in by them 20 years ago. read more

I'm renting a condo and my heater wasn't working. I received a call from Weathermakers and spoke to Tiffany on the phone. She was incredibly helpful, polite and pleasant. Because of my odd work hours, and me having to be present for the workers to show up, Tiffany accommodated me and had a serviceman come out at 7 p.m. to fix the issue. They had to send a second person out a few days later to fully finish the issue at hand, but this review is because Tiffany literally was the most polite and pleasant young woman that I've spoken to on the phone at any company. She accommodated my schedule, apologized when there was a mix-up in what needed to be changed (and hey, mistakes happen), and gave me follow-up calls. The first young men who came out to service my heater clearly was knowledgable but he was talking in terms that I didn't understand when telling me about the heater. The second young man who came a few days later was quick and did the job well and explained things in a more straight forward manner. I called them when my system went out on New Year's Day Stephanie answered the call and she was not even remotely helpful. They had serviced my system 3 weeks earlier and added freon. So there obviously is a leak... She said she would call me back about an appointment. Four hours later she called me back to tell me they could not get out to my house until Thursday. I said even with it being 17 at night and only 20' during the day and she said yep. No compassion, no concern that my family would not have heat for 2 more days with a blizzard expected on Thursday... I called Kellam Mechanical and they bent over backwards! They had a repair person out the next morning. They called to tell me my mechanic would call me when he left his 8:00 appointment... They actually want my business and care about my family. I even called and left a message with the manager about my experience with Stephanie and he didn't even bother to call me back! No one needs a company like Weathermaker when there are so many other companies out there that do the same things but actually want to be helpful! read more

The service and technician was great and their labor rates are within reason but they over charge you for the parts. If it was not for the overcharge in parts I would give them a 5 star rating. For a GE Capacitor 97F9897 they charged $155.00 and I could buy one for $20.40 so they would have even paid less than $20.40 for it so they marked it up over 750% that much of a mark up was ridiculous. They replaced two UV lights part #: TUVL-115P and charged $157.50 for each light and I could buy them for $72.00 each this was another excessive markup. read more

We had this company in to fix a strange attic air/fiber glass smell in our home. They threw in cleaning for a good price, so we decided to do the repair to many holes and cleaning. Two very nice techs came out, and upon leaving our AC Fan broke within 20 minutes. It seems they rewired and shorted it out. Another tech came back and almost created an electrical fire, with tons of smoke in our home. I have severe asthma and we told them my medical problems to begin with, that we couldn't have the AC off for long. The third tech put in a smaller motor and we had to wait a week for the correct part. All this time and we still have the attic air smell which gave me asthma in the first place. From the smoke, I had to go to an emergency pulmonologist apt and get on new meds to control my lungs. The owner came today and bullied us very badly. He deflected the problem and said he didn't smell anything and he can't do anything about it. He was unwilling to listen to what happened and would not help us at all. We will be contacting our lawyer for the suffering of the last week; they basically broke our AC - replaced the fan and did not do the original job correctly at all. All they had to do was check on the vents and see if there were any holes left. All the owner had to do was be nice and respectful, but instead he aimed at telling me my asthma was because of my cats (which I have been tested for - it is not) saying he is not a doctor so he doesn't care about my problem, and saying he doesn't smell anything so to bad. I even had to demand he leave our property while he laughed at me and mocked me. The sad part is the techs were extremely nice and we were patient the entire week with them. We never thought it would end up this way. If you have a medical problem and you need AC work, do not do business with this company. The owner is either having a breakdown or is just incompetent. Either way, we are down $1500 for absolutely nothing done except suffering. read more
