Buyer Beware: company recently sold in beginning of 2024 to new owners, new staff except installer. Not same reputable company it used to be! This has been an absolute nightmare experience. This company has no idea what they are doing and the worst customer service. We are building a 4 season room and ordered 19 Weathermaster windows ($19,000). Series of events / dates: * Dec 8, 2023- contact signed, 1/3 payment ($6000) made. * Jan 8, 2024- windows measured and to be ordered, 2/3 payment ($6000) made. Contract said ~7-9 weeks completion. * Feb 26- received call from company, foreign person, saying measurements wrong and need to come/measure again * Feb 28- new measurements done, told the order form never listed what size/where the picture window is and which was tempered glass, questioned why not noticed before and was told they just saw wrong measurements looking at the order form. Expressed being upset my windows were never ordered and sat there for the last 7 1/2 weeks. * Feb 29- called office spoke to Donna complaining we were told windows would be another 4 weeks since re-measurement. Explained that my 4 season room construction (IE: completing entire inside of the room, ceiling, insulation) cannot be finished or even worked on until the inspector comes + see's the completed window installation that this setback is costing us time/money. Asked to have manager call us. * March 1-manager Alen D- called to tell us cannot do the 2 smaller triangle windows and would have to do 2 custom windows. Change order to be emailed. He said a different manager was on my job before but is no longer with the company and my order was just sitting there. Complained they dropped the ball and asked what they were going to do for us. Said he would speak to his supervisor and get back to us. * March 13: called left VM- said never got change order and Alen never called back. * March 18: called asking what is happening with windows was told they did not know and would call us back tomorrow. * March 29: called Alen- was told the windows are in and was going to call us today, scheduled installation date, will get a discount but still has to speak to his manager and will call back and supposed to email change order. * April 9- partial windows installed, they noticed THAT morning that 2 of the windows were wrong. Complained that why on March 29 when the windows came into their warehouse that no one from their company checks orders to make sure they are correct. Windows were also not padded at all (just loose windows/frame) to get from warehouse to my house (installer Rick was commenting was trying to use his own blankets/clothing to try to cushion our windows during delivery). * April 10-spoke to Rick (installer), he confirmed suspicion that the company sold and are new owners as to why we are getting the run around since January. Called to speak to Alen. Was instructed it would be 2 weeks to rush order 2 incorrect windows and would be TOP PRIORITY to get installed due to the mess up, complained that we never heard back from him before and that he always says he will get back to us and never does. He complained its hard to get a hold of his boss ... but will get back by Friday. * April 12: Alen called said most he can do agreeing with owner is 500-700 discount and will send over the change order. * April 24: called following up where the windows were and that change order was never sent - spoke to Austin - he said he would speak to Alen and call me back in 15 min - never called back. * April 25: Called Austin said he left voicemail w/Alen to call me. Spoke to Alen said the windows are in production still waiting to get and will probably come next week, said 700 discount will be sent over via email adding in details for lifetime warranty/no labor/materials/call fees * May 2: emailed saying we havenot heard yet if windows are in and sent edits for contract to Alen. Told company windows need installed by Monday as leaving out of country. Alen called and said windows came in an hour ago and tentatively lined up Saturday for installation. Alen will call back when confirmed. * May 3. Alen called back said waiting to hear from Rick (installer) but should be on for Saturday and he will send new contract. Rick called later that afternoon and said that it is supposed to rain Sat / Monday and will watch the weather and if clear will install. Explained leaving country on cruise vacation and needs in asap for inspector so we can move forward with finishing our addition. We installed two sets of large double hung energy star windows on two separate jobs for the same customers. They loked the first pair so well they hired us back to put in a second pair of windows by Weathermasters. Fabrication took about a month because they get many orders. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR OWN WARRANTY!! GO ELSEWHERE!! I was given a lifetime warranty through Weather Master Windows themselves NOT the manufacturer. It covers the seals, the locks and all mechanisms 100% at NO CHARGE. Not to mention, the warranty is transferable one time. My story. Called for service mid March 2023. Couldn't get a response from the service dept. On April 7th I sent an email. April 11th I received a response. I got all kinds of excuses why I hadn't gotten a response. Now we go all the way to May 2nd! I absolutely blow a gasket!! Nearly two months and still no resolution. Finally I get a phone call from Narinder who tells me they are placing the custom door order and it should be in in about three weeks at which time they would call to set up an install time. Took forever, but okay finally my door would be fixed! NOPE! Narinder gave me the wrong information. Apparently I should have been told the manufacturer was out of business so they couldn't get a replacement lock. Well, my warranty is not with the manufacturer it it with Weather Master. Once I was told they would not do anything for me I decided to seek legal advice. Warranties can be a bit iffy at times. Well my warranty couldn't be more clear cut. I really wish I could leave no stars!!! This company has HORRIBLE customer service. We Started the process in November2018 and it's June 2019 and still NO windows or doors installed. We made an appointment and one installer came on the day of our scheduled appointment at 8:15 am for installation only to tell me that his partner called out sick and he had to reschedule because he couldn't install the windows alone! Also, that He doesn't even install doors so someone else would have to come back on another day. I asked the installer to have someone from the office Call me. Ms. Fontaine from the office finally called me at 9:30am at first to tell me that The installer said I am the one who refused service!!! I explained to her that the installer told me he had to reschedule because he did not have help. Fontaine immediately tried to cover it up and said she didn't know why he would leave, Because the door installer was on the way to help the window installer. She then she called back a second time to say the window installer was too far to come back and to say the door installer wouldn't be at my home until 11am because he had a previous customer and he WOULD NOT be able to do all the doors today, only ONE door. I told Fontaine don't worry about having the door guy come to only install one door. My question is: if he was really coming initially to help the window installer why wasn't he prepared to do all the doors on the same day? Seems like she tried to fit me in after the fact. It's not Albert the installers fault, he was very professional and apologetic but why isn't there a team of guys to install the windows and doors just in case someone calls out sick? I don't expect anyone to risk their life and install windows alone. This entire experience is very stressful seeing how we had to take off from work to be home, do all the prep work to make sure the windows were not covered to be told they can't do it at the scheduled appointment time. I was told everything would be done on the same day. But that was not true. I'm very disappointed and I regret wasting my time with this company at this point. **Update: 6/15/19: After speaking with Ed following the previous, he made an appointment for installation as soon as possible and he sent a great team of guys to do the installation! They were so very nice and very experienced. They communicated with us very well.The windows and doors look great. Ed even called to make sure everything was going well during the installation. Only one door has to be redone because the measurements taken originally were off but Larry and Dewey explained everything and just made my experience so much better! read more

Our salesman (Joe Mantegna) was very knowledgeable and honest throughout the ordering process and the price for high quality windows easily beat the other two quotes I received. The winter of 2013/2014 was extremely harsh. Along with several consecutive days of miserable cold weather came huge BGE bills. The bill that broke the camel's back was over $1K+. This horrifying bill caused me to reach out to several window companies for quotes on changing all the windows in my town home. WeatherMaster had a superior product and an equally superior price. In July 2014 I received a BGE Home Energy report that confirmed that I made the right decision installing WeatherMaster windows. This has not been a positive experience at all. I ordered the windows in August, and it is December 2020 and they are just now being installed. One of the kitchen windows is broken, came in that way from the warehouse. It is currently taped up. I called and was told it would be another three weeks to replace this glass!!! This window is in the center of the kitchen....high traffic and visibility area. I would NEVER recommend this company. I would never recommended weather master windows to anyone. We had replacement windows recently put in and they were not installed properly you can feel air blowing in around are molding trim. They chipped molding in couple rooms.They also damaged wall beside window.Very unhappy beware Dont use weather Master Windows. 3/2019 read more

I hired WeatherMaster to replace all the windows (6) and sliding doors (2) in a condo. I had to resort to filing a Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) complaint to try to get the work fixed. A quick summary of WeatherMaster's work: installed cracked window, installed windows incorrectly (they fell out), latch springs didn't work correctly, sliding door didn't close properly/ lifts out of frame, dirty windows, damaged walls. Neither the installers or WeatherMaster brought these flaws to my attention, in their opinion the installation was done 100% correct and had no intentions of fixing anything. The installation was horrible and the General Manager was defensive and rude. He repeatedly said "nothing is perfect." If I knew their attitude ahead of time my payment wouldn't have been in the 'perfect' amount. I had to take off work on two separate occasions for WeatherMaster to come out and inspect/fix their work, work that should have been done right the first time. The experience was not only frustrating but cost me money for time taken off work. The 2 sliding doors that were installed can be lifted off the tracks and moved vertically 1-2 inches. I had a general contractor inspect the doors and he confirmed they are incorrect. Weathermaster claims the doors are installed to factory specifications and refuses to fix them. One of the doors did not close/lock properly, WeatherMaster fixed this. The general manager, company president, and original installer also spent 2 hours fixing something on the sliding door I didn't even know what incorrect. The windows (inside and out) are dirty from the install. There are also black marks on the white frames. I expected the windows to be clean after the install. Weathermaster refuses to clean the windows and remove the stickers from the windows. When they returned for repairs they offered to clean the windows; I had previously cleaned then because the condo was going on the market and pictures taken. The installers left very visible scuff marks on the walls and a dent in the wall that needs to be patched. The drywall around the windows was chipped off down to the metal frame. When WeatherMaster returned to make repairs they patched the dent and cleaned the scuff marks off the walls. The top of one installed windows falls out of the frame when trying to close the window. There is a 1/2 inch gap between the window pane and the frame. WeahterMaster corrected the install on their 3rd visit. Another window was installed with a crack. The spring on the frame of another window is defective. The sliding screen of another door does not work properly. WeatherMaster correctly all these defects on their 3rd visit. After the install, Weathermaster did not provide the warranty paperwork (which must be completed within 10 days). After re-reading the contract I realized it was missing and had to call to request it. The paperwork should have been provided at the time of install. read more

It took numerous visits by the install team to figure out how they were going to get it done and I can't say enough about how much I appreciate their honesty throughout the entire process. I purchased 7 windows from WeatherMaster several years ago. At the time they were the top of the line and the sales rep said they came with a lifetime warranty. From the get go, these windows have been horrible. Noise from the street increased as soon as they were put in. My house began to leak like a sieve and my heating bills went up 40%. Fast forward to this year--I had other windows installed and the installers were shocked at the absolutely amateurish installation job done by Weather Master and the poor quality of their windows, which had all but disintegrated. WeatherMaster refused to acknowledge their shoddy workmanship or to honor the lifetime warranty. They said the warranty came from the manufacturer, not from them, and the manufacturer had gone out of business. Don't waste your money on the windows they sell. Dishonest and unprofessional. These words sum up our experience with the company. We could go on and on, but this is a summary of a few of the complaints (sorry it's so long). The saga started in Oct 2013. We have multiple complaints with the company and the window job; the whole thing has been a headache from beginning to end; in fact it has not ended yet. On every issue, we noticed it and brought it up, otherwise they would not have said anything. They refused to honor the original contract, and wanted to increase the price after we signed and paid the deposit. They refused to let us out of the contract even though they were the ones changing it. After all the back and forth, we were so frustrated that we signed a modified changed contract so we could just get it done since they were not letting us out of it. The windows were not ordered or installed correctly, and the customer service was not adequate or effective. We have 18 windows and a patio door, but they only ordered 17 windows and then put another customer's window and patio door in, which were different windows/U rating than what we ordered. They deliberately ordered fewer windows than what we needed so they could pass off some previous customer's windows off on us--they even had the other customer's name written on them! We paid extra money for full screens, but there are 4 holes on each screen due to the design of the full screen. They sent out a "fix" which didn't fix it. We ordered and paid for sill replacement for all sills at the time of the contract. When the installers came they didn't have any sills with them and did not replace or repair any sills. They also didn't bring a ladder, though it was clearly written in the order that one was needed. The second time they came out they asked me to sign some papers. When I started to look at them to see what I was signing, he said I couldn't see them! WeatherMaster has shown a lack of professionalism in writing a contract they couldn't honor, in incorrectly ordering windows, in coming out without basic tools to do their job and in not responding when issues came up. On top of that, they turn everything back on us instead of apologizing or admitting they did something wrong. If they have been in business for 28 years, how can they be so shocked that they need a ladder and shoe covers, or know what's involved in enlarging a window and how to order correctly? Beware! If a customer is not paying attention, everything might look fine, but then they might have an illegal non-tempered window in the bathroom (like we would have had), or rotten sills under the new wrapping (like we do & still there), or different windows than what were ordered (like we do). In every step, we had to be vigilant and notice things or WeatherMaster would have been content to do the wrong thing. We opened a case with BBB (case # 36099275) but it has not helped to resolve anything, though the BBB caseworker has been very helpful. read more

This is more for the bad back office experience I had. I had good experience with Joe and the installers but I had a very bad experience with the billing department because I was told that I didn't pay my last bill even I called the day after the installation with the intention to pay. I was told by the installers that in order to pay with credit card I needed to call the office and maybe I can pay when the small remaining issues were done but due to the fact that the billing department didn't want to listen and was rude to me, I was referred to the boss Ed. He's initially nice but said it was ridiculous that I was holding the payment due to the small issues. I was never asked to pay a different amount and I later found on the invoice that I could pay a prorated amount if things are not as specified. I ended up paying a prorated amount but not after two very unhappy customers. We enjoy our windows very much, particularly the bay window, but this company can improve their customer service! UPDATE 9/12/16: The owner of the company personally stopped by our house to understand better what happened. He was very nice and listened to our concerns. He made sure the job was done correctly and it was. We are still very happy with our windows and still recommend this company to our friends in the area for the quality and price of the windows! read more

WeatherMaster just came out to replace 4 windows in our family room. We started small to see how we like the product. Well, we will be doing more business with WeatherMaster. Their product is a vast improvement from the cheapy builder grade windows we had. The product may be great, but installation is everything--they did an excellent job! The mechanics were extremely neat and clean. I didn't have to do a thing after they left. They swept up and removed every speck of debris. The mechanics were clean and did not use any bad language despite a few frustrating elements of the job in getting the old windows out--Albert and his helper (sorry, can't remember his name) were very experienced and determined to do everything just right. I semi-dreaded having the work done after seeing the poor results experienced by my neighbor when her 2 windows were replaced by another company. We are very pleased with the work from WeatherMaster, and their prices can't be beat. They explained everything. I can't wait to replace all of the remaining windows in my home. I had a very nice experience just recently on my install day for my 100 year old Govanestowne Balto. home. I was worried because the windows had never been replaced since the house was built in 1910; I'm talking the old ball and chain windows. They did the lead paint test and removal. The salesman assured me that the windows I decided on would work well and save me energy and $$$ (4700E DH model) Energy Star. The two technicians were very neat, skilled and courteous; I would recommend WeatherMaster in Baltimore to anyone who needs new windows. read more

Stay far away from this company! The slightly lower pricing will not compensate for the ineptitude of this company and its employees. I have a rental property with 10 windows and a front door, I had to drive 2 hrs to meet them for in estimate in another state. Fifteen minutes before our appointment time, the estimator called and said he was stuck in traffic and was not coming. When I insisted he come even if he's late, he went on the tell me about his personal problems and why he didn't have the time. He told me he could do the estimate without me the next day. Three days later he finally showed up to measure the windows. I reluctantly went with this company because the price was slightly better. Huge mistake! They were scheduled to install the door and windows on a Monday. They called Monday morning and said the installer hurt has hand over the weekend and wasn't going to make it. We rescheduled it for Tuesday and the installer showed up at my home property in Virginia, not the rental property in MD. After yelling at me for his mistake, he and his wife drove to MD for the install. I actually wouldn't open the door for them until I saw their paperwork because of their appearance. They both looked like they had just been released from prison. Once they arrived, the installer told my tenant that he didn't have the proper tools since his paperwork said our windows were wood and they were actually metal. I called his supervisor and asked him to check on the situation. The supervisor drove out to the site and said all was well and that they would definitely finish that day. WRONG!! The installer's wife went to the store for a pack of cigarettes and got into a car accident. He had my tenant drive him to the accident site and they had to wait for the police and then leave with the job unfinished. At this point there is missing flashing and exposed wood. The next day they could schedule was Thursday. Again, my tenants rearranged their schedules to accommodate the installers. This time the installer called and said he wasn't coming because there was rain in the forecast. During all of these screw ups, I had been talking to the manager, Nick. Nick just kept saying, "this isn't my fault. Don't get mad at me. I have no control over this." This is not what a disappointed customer wants to hear, so they had Scott, the customer service manager, take over. There were promises of "no more mistake" but guess what? The next scheduled install was a no show. This time he didn't even call. This is where I leave you for now as my window are still not installed and I can't reach Scott over the weekend.
