I had wandered in after hearing about a pub crawl and being told there would be tours offered of the theater. I was there a little early and the tour guides weren't on site yet but was offered a tour by Brian, which I was more than happy to accept! He was incredibly knowledgeable and personable as he explained the theater's rich history through facts, pictures and personal stories. It was WONDERFUL! I really appreciate him and the other staff members taking the time to make my visit fun and unique!

I was here on a Friday afternoon to see Wicked. Purposefully choosing a theater showing time…read morebefore kids would be out of school and for which few tickets were sold. I had heard that people in theaters were singing along loudly to the music and I wanted to avoid that at all costs. I also didn't want to sit near anyone so I wasn't distracted. I liked being able to see the status of seating and tickets sales online and the ability to buy my ticket that way - but wasn't too happy about the service charge I had to pay to do so. Anyways, I got to the theater a few minutes before the posted start time. I waited at the ticket window only to find out that I could go right up to the ticket taker and they would scan my e ticket. Lesson learned. When I got to the theater, I was the ONLY person there. PERFECT. Unfortunately, a bunch of ladies came in right before the previews started and talked loudly through the entire preview screening. I guess that OK as I wasn't watching the previews - I just kept playing on my phone until the movie started. Once the movie started, they shut up and kept quiet the whole time. For those that don't know - Wicked (part 1) is 2 hours and 40 minutes run time - plus the previews. I have a chronic hamstring issue and quickly found out that these seats were not good for that pain. I spent the WHOLE time squirming and readjusting my sitting position as I never found a good way to sit. Yet another reason no one was sitting near me as I would have drove them nuts. In the future, I don't know if I'd come to see a movie here again. I know that Crosswoods has leather recliners and I am able to sit comfortably in them. I had considered seeing Wicked there - but there times/seating was not attractive. The movie experience itself was great. No complaints about picture or sound. The movie kept me engaged and I only thought about how long I'd been there a couple times and was tempted to check my watch - but I did not. However, by the time the movie ended, I was about at the end of my attention span and ability to sit any longer. The e ticket option - now that I know that I can skip to the ticket taker - is quite convenient. Parking was good at that time of day but I know it can be challenging for more popular show times. Food and drink prices are insane so I brought my own bottle on Diet Mt Dew in. Restrooms were good and I somehow managed not to have to use the facilities during the movie - but I sure needed it as soon as the movie was over. Again - location good. I find it easier to manage than going to Easton Town center which is equally near my house. So if you're looking for a nice, casual movie theater with no bells or whistles in seating, this is your place. It just might not be the place for me again, unless somehow my hamstring magically heals. Doubtful since it's been problematic for almost 10 years.

It's a touch out of date, and doesn't seem very busy (but to be fair that's on a summer weekday afternoon.) Still, no complaints about the movie quality or sound. Just the amenities are not quite up to par with other places in town. Comfy seats. Friendly staff. Small selection of snacks, but hey, enough to get you through the movie. Odd that the men's and women's restrooms are on opposite sides of the lobby; one of each on each side would be more convenient. Checkin was weird- we bought online and I figured we'd scan in at the theater itself, but we had to wait in line with people buying their tickets and then get our code scanned. Just took a little longer. But don't worry, we still had time to see the half-dozen previews. I'm being snarky and nitpicky. It was fine. I'd come again. Prices, even without our discount, are reasonable- competitive, anyway. Parking was easy. The place was clean.

This is a cute little museum featuring exhibits, shows, and interactive stations related to…read morescience, history, technology, and more. There is a very nice little planetarium (the Scidome), and viewing a show is included in the price of admission. We saw "From Earth to the Universe," which provided a crash course on astronomy throughout history and a look at our galaxy and the universe. The first floor of the space features a lot of interactive and hands-on activities, such as building a circuit, learning about your body, building and racing cars from objects like Legos, plus a 6-and-under play area. The hot shop is also located in this area, and it was very interesting to watch them work with the hot glass (and a very pleasant space to be in on such a cold day!) Upstairs is a wealth of local and regional historical information for Newark and Licking County and its citizens and discoveries. A giant mastadon skull greets you as you come up the stairs, as the Burning Tree Mastadon was found in the county. The Jerrie Mock exhibit, complete with a flight simulator and a replica of her airplane, the Spirit of Columbus, was extremely popular with the kids. (Jerrie Mock, a Newark native, was the first woman to fly solo around the world). A little historic village, complete with cash registers, scales, and games is also available to walk through on this level. Given the weather, we didn't spend as much time out in the courtyard as we probably would have otherwise, but we definitely made it over to the building housing the interurban railway car, the back end of which you can walk in and look around the interior of. There's also a really well done mural on the topic out by the parking lot. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the museum was clean and comfortable. There is plentiful parking outside. A small gift shop, including items made in the hot shop, is available near the entrance.

My niece loves to go to another children's museum in a nearby city. The Works is hands down a better experience than the other children's museum. This is now her favorite of the 3 places we've been. Unfortunately, the glass blowing was closed for routine maintenance & we have plans to return when open again. The bottom floor houses the small planetarium & hands on exhibits & play areas for kids & upstairs is more informative displays of the local area, the Works history & a brief technology over view. I've heard there's a café associated with the museum across the outdoor area but we didn't look into that the day we were there. 10/10 recommend a visit if you're in the area & looking for something new, fun & educational for kids to do.

Sweetie and I came to see Pat Benatar, who put on a great show. The building is probably from the '50s and is in great shape. Not huge, probably a thousand or so seats? The seats are old-style theater seats, and were comfortable for the whole show. Laid out in the traditional theater style, with several sections downstairs and a small balcony. Entry and exit were pretty efficient and simple. Acoustics were great, lighting was effective. The ushers were super friendly and helpful. It looked like concessions and bathrooms were downstairs though we didn't use either. There's plenty of free parking, and street parking nearby too. It was easy to get out of the lot and back on the highway. We had a great experience, and I would definitely come to see another show here.

Great place for a show. Coming in was confusing. The entry is in the center and up the stairs. But we had to check in first and get our hands stamped, in the door just to the right. Friendly and helpful staff the whole time, at check-in, the door, bar, etc. Go up the stairs and there is a little landing with bathrooms and a sort of recovery room thing- didn't go in there, but looked like a place to escape the crowd and noise. Straight in the double doors is the show venue, a cool old theater. Great sound, nice lighting. Bar is up another set of stairs, with a small balcony with tables. Accessibility might be an issue; I saw no elevator though there could be one. Two sets of steep stairs were hard on an old guy with bad knees, especially coming down from the bar with drinks. Pizza and burgers, etc., at the bar, nice to have handy. Fast friendly service. Downstairs, the bar to the left of the entry looks quite nice, and they had the show on a TV. Crowd wasn't massive so you could wander up and down and enjoy all areas. Definitely would come back for another show.

We did have drink/bar issues in that the third floor bar was limited and the main floor bar was busy with only one gal tending. My husband could not get the beer he wanted as they were out so he settled for another. He ordered my Riesling but they had to go fetch a warm bottle from the basement. The sound was pretty good, although since we were standing under the speakers, it was difficult for me to hear his between song chats with the audience. I would return. I love old places with character and this suits my enjoyment of small Indy shows.

Went here for valentines with my other half, we got the regular GA admission. It did take a while…read moreto get inside. The line was extremely long so definitely come early not at your time haha. Absolutely no bags of any kind, if you have to go back to your car to put it away, you can't go back in line, no holding the line for anyone either. Once inside to the "lobby" area it snakes for a bit til you finally get inside. While waiting inside some of the scare actors will be going around trying to scare you, it is very entertaining to hear them scare someone haha. This is probably thee best haunted house attraction we have been too, definitely worth going here if you love haunted houses as much as we do. You do take a photo before you go in, as a photographer myself, I will say they need to turn down their brightness as it does over light the photo that was taken, but I do love that it was included in the price. *If you do go, please don't be a sourpuss, the guy behind us w what we assume was his wife was a buzzkill the whole time. Bro was just irritated wouldn't even hold his wife's hand as she was enjoying it and screaming bc of the actors. Don't be a loser bf/gf/husband/wife/partner. This is an old opera house that has been restored and reconstructed so it isn't entirely original,…read morebut very functional and pretty. They mostly use it for local play productions, but you can also rent it out for events. There are stairs as well as an elevator. The main theater stafe is on the third floor while the balconies are on the fourth flour. It doesn't feel that high though. There are slso bathrooms on a couple levels so you don't need to worry about searching too hard. The bathrooms were also clean, automatic toilets, and some had portions or the original brick left in place to add history so a blend of new and old. Comfortable folding theater seats, clear views, and maintained at a good temperature so not warm, but also not freezing like how some places over do it. This venue is along the main route to downtown and right by the new dog fountain so it's easy to find. The location is also very walkable with many other local businesses so it's a nice to walk. There are also plenty of street lights so it's very pretty at night.
