In addition to meat and deli, they offer all sorts of goodies, treats, and things to make your meats taste better. As a customer, I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Instead, I was met with an attitude that was unnecessarily harsh and unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I chose to leave without purchasing not only my deli items but also the steaks and other meat I had planned to buy for an upcoming family reunion. I hope management addresses this issue. Employees who interact with customers should provide respectful, courteous service. No customer should feel uncomfortable or unwelcome simply for asking to be served.

The selection is immense. They have all manners of sausage. They have all manners of beef. They have all manners of chicken. They will even custom butcher livestock you bring it to them, for a nominal fee. Merkley's is also a throwback for grocery shopping. It's not just going to the mega mart and picking up random bits on styrofoam trays, covered in cellophane. You can talk to the butcher, ask for recommendations and opinions. They'll gladly tell you all you need to know. First, go to Walmart. Buy the biggest cooler you can fit in your car. And get down to Merkley and Son's. You should also get ice, but they will give you a bag of ice if you ask nicely. Oh, and finally, and get a box of wheat thins. It's for the ham salad. They make their own ham salad in house and in my humble opinion, it's worth the trip all by itself.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest lady behind the deli counter. She answered every question with a knowledgeable answer and also a joke and giggle. You see wall to wall food. It's like a supermarket packed into a 1000 sq foot area. Anything from Lemons, chicken buffalo dip, bacon, organic milk, seasonings, pretzel buns, fish, steaks, burgers, Venison, Elk and beer. It's all here, a true one stop shop. The "Tomahawk" was AMAZING! 13.99lb....a little over 2lbs. Slow cooked for an hour, wow it was delicious! Delicious pretzel buns and the bacon cheddar burgers were to die for! The burgers were formed and packed in the back, boxed and ready to pop on the grill. The owner is one of the Hubers, so of course they have several of the most requested Huber items...Huber wine being one of the major items. Apple butter and fruit are available too. We will definitely be stopping in here more often!
