Its very, very expensive - $9 for a pack of hamburger patties that only had three inside, not an even number? dang that's harsh. It is very clean inside and set up nicely, also the people running it were almost to the level of "Trader Joe Nice" which was really unexpected. Anyway, would I come back if I was in the area again? Maybe, the burgers were pretty delicious all things considered (I guess they should be at that price) and it seems higher quality than Kroger, so I dont know, I guess I just need to make sure its after payday. read more

Carnivores, Start your engines!!!!! I heard about this butcher shop from a friend in Newburgh, so we stopped in today for a peek. This place is more than a butcher shop! It is a cornucopia of everything delightful!!! They offer an enormous selection of frozen meats, fish, poultry (even a few veg) . Rows and rows of seasonings, rubs, marinades, spices..etc. A beautiful selection of fresh steaks, pork, brats, sausage, bacon and chicken is available as well. Check out the "Chicken Bomb".... It will make your mouth water for sure!!!! There is a limited selection of pickled vegetables, chow chow and relishes. I spied some candied jalapeños there.... If you like sweet heat you should try them!!! House made deli sides sold there as well. The baked beans, ( yes I sampled some) are outstanding!!! The employees we spoke with were so friendly. Disappointment is not full grass fed Meats. I mean, why contaminated it with finished off corn that is gmo and pesticides

We had heard about The Old Fashioned Butcher Shoppe a few months ago and finally decided to check out out. We were looking specifically for ground beef and they had some 5 pound packages of 80/20 for about $4 per pound. Sounded like a pretty good deal so we bought 10 pounds. I highly doubt the beef was 80/20; there was lots of fat left over to drain, more so then typical 80/20 from a grocery store. That's not the real problem though. The real problem was the meat was not fresh, it had a taste like old meat and had chunks of gristle throughout the meat. Overall the meat was very substandard. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

I believe I have believe I went to the new location. n looking for an old school butcher for close to two years since moving back mainland. I traveled 2 hours with a newborn to buy my Xmas Rib roast. I was not disappointed, from the butcher pulling out meat from the back, recommending size and chine / re-tie to the sales people pointing out the top 3 Bbq sauces on the shelves. First, I must say that the staff were the nicest people, I have met at an Evansville business. Used to shop there, when I lived there, many moons ago! I was in the mood for souse, aka "hoghead cheese!" Michael, the store manager let me try a piece of both: one was locally made, while Ekcrich, made the other one. I got some of both. Bought a huge bag of chicken legs and thighs. Michael taught me the benefits of using smoked ham shanks, instead of smoked ham hocks. Evidently, it is all about the meat and the amont of it. Clearly, the shank is the winner. I reiterate that everyone was nice! Michael, the store manager removed his hard hat, and white lab coat, and helped me, by carrying and placing my purchases in the car. I told him to look me up when he got to San Francisco, and he said that he would. His wife has family in Anaheim, so they will be taking their kids to Disneyland! As for meats, they had a full fledge meat counter with everything fresh. You can request specialty items that they can order and cut to your liking, just for you! They have a frozen freezer chest section, and a refrigerated glass door section. Everyone there was a butcher, so they can take good care of you! I like shopping there when I can. I had not been there for awhile and went a few months back and I asked the older lady who was waiting on me if they use the tare feature when they weight the food. I was just asking and in a nice way, she got offended and right after she waited on me walked off and would not finish, another clerk finished waiting on me and I ordered several things after that, She did hurt my feelings because I had not been there for awhile and was looking forward to a nice visit. Greatest meat market in the tri state. Food is wrapped anyway you want, then freezer wrapped as you order. Selection is just huge, steaks, chops of many styles ,bacon ,chicken, ribs, babyback ribs, hams turkey breasts pre cooked ( huge), many more items. I drive almost 73 miles one way to shop there.
