After a solid five minutes of eye contact and mutual confusion, she grunted and pointed at a table that I'm pretty sure was held together by hope and one rusty screw. The food: I ordered the "house special," which tasted like someone described what flavor should be, then forgot halfway through and gave up. The chicken was simultaneously burnt, cold, and somehow wet. Physics took one look and walked out. The service: Our server vanished like a Victorian spirit the moment we sat down. I'm convinced he joined witness protection. I saw him once more, briefly, like a cryptid sighting, only to have him drop my drink so hard it carbonated itself on impact. The bathroom: Look... I've been to music festivals. I've survived porta-potties at county fairs. I've seen stuff. But whatever was going on in that restroom? That was a crime scene. The toilet paper roll was sitting on the counter like it had escaped and was considering a new life in Peru. The ambiance: Lights flickering like we were dining inside a horror movie. Music alternating between elevator jazz and what I can only assume was a recording of someone microwaving aluminum foil. Final thoughts: By the time the check arrived, I honestly felt like I needed therapy, a tetanus shot, and maybe a priest. The highlight of my meal was leaving. Would not recommend. Would not return. Today a woman walked fast to get inside before me, I didn't care. She got in the REC line- She is NOT a medical patients. She is a recreational cannabis user not being used as medication your doctors want you to try or take. The guy was rude and not helpful at all about my capsule questions and was just rushing. As I walked away I saw the REC lady walk right up to him, the MEDICAL PATIENT said something about it, I did not hear what she said, but she said something. I am super disappointed as a med patient- I jumped through hoops to get my medical card and my doctor and that process is very expensive, and obviously insurance does not cover a dime. Fingerprints, mini photo, background check ETC. I'll never return UNLESS I can't find a product I need ANYWHERE else. Rise Joliet is really getting bad. She brought me over to the screen kiosk to find me a CBD gummy with just 1% THC for sleep. She was really focused on my need request to find which one she thought was best for me, not just someone there for a paycheck. The weird part is a new customer is supposed to get 20% off on their first visit which I should have got, but the product cost $22 which with the discount should have cost $18 plus tax, but even when I reminded the cashier about my 20% off, with tax it came to $29, she said the extra cost was the tax on THC. I looked on the receipt and verified they never gave me the 20% off! Reading other reviews above and on Google, I'm not even sure the potency on the label is truthful. So I'm giving 3 stars for Stephanie and the cashier being friendly and helpful.
