Their hours are wonderful and the drive thru service has been both courteous and efficient. Having multiple drive up ATMS with 24/7 help is amazing. When I have gone into the bank everyone has been more than helpful, efficient, and personable (Church St location in particular). I began using ION after the bank I had used for many years changed ownership and drastically declined their customer service. I have been pleased with all of the services I have used at ION.

When a cashier went over and said something to the people who do the cards he was told they are busy yet I'm looking at them do nothing. Unbelievable. Time for a new bank.

It's why I've never needed to make a change to any other banking institution.. In the past two weeks, they've begun using high technology to eliminate the need to fill out deposit/withdrawal/transfer slips. One tells the clerk what you want to do, and how much, and they have a palm print reader to substitute for your signature. Pretty cool!

I have been a member of ION bank for more than a decade since it was Naugatuck Savings Bank. Over…read morethe years I have been extremely dissatisfied with their lack of any type of customer service, but this last incident takes the prize. I deposited a 20k bank check into the ION Bank ATM on Wed evening, a check that was dispersed from an account in my name at another CT bank. The reason I had to make a night deposit was because I recently moved out of the area and had no other way to move the funds without spending another $40 on a wire transfer - which I refused to do! So the ATM spit out a receipt that indicated that the funds would not be available until the following Monday. So I called the next day to let them know that I could not wait until Monday for the funds, nor should I have to considering that it is a BANK CHECK I deposited. I was told after being run around for 10 minutes that they would not help me and that I had no choice but to wait until Monday. They will not return the check, and they will not release my funds. I asked that I speak to a manager, and then to the regional manager - who never bothered to even return my call. What a scam. Take my money, pocket any interest they make. I'm closing my accounts with this shithole bank. Buyer beware - expect to be worked by this institution if you're dim enough to start an account after reading this review. To start, they kept saying I didn't…read morehave insurance so they could add their extremely expensive insurance to my payments. no matter how many times I would send the paperwork I would get an automatic message saying "unable to process. please upload as a pdf" which every time it was a pdf. next, they actually denied my payments saying my bank was the one restricting them from taking the payments. after confirmation by my bank I found out that his indeed was not the case. Now the worst of it all... I get into a car accident and they refuse to release my title to the insurance company. Come to find out they were refusing because they LOST MY TITLE. It took me 2 weeks, 8 representatives later to figure this out. suddenly the monthly payments start coming out of my account again as well. they made ME pay for my new title and have not followed up saying they received it. All this nonsense has prevented me from getting a new car so I can get myself to work. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT ALL YOUR THINGS LOST
