If I were the manager at that location, I would be deeply embarrassed by the lack of attention given to the store's appearance and condition. It's clear the cleanliness and customer comfort are not priorities at this location. By serendipity, he was on home on leave during her passing, and agreed, when asked, by his grandfather, the Airforce Vet, to cancel his plans, drive 8 hours, and be present and uniformed at the funeral. Great Grandma married an Army Air Corpsman after a whirlwind romance in 1942. She would have been quite impressed by the uniform. After all, she kept the last one over 50 years. In packing on Sunday night for a Tuesday morning funeral, our Marine became aware that his SIZE 14 patent leather shoes had not made the trip with his blues. Because Grandpa was so appreciative of his presence, that he assigned him pall bearer duties, ONLY the dress blues were appropriate for the event. I began first thing Monday morning calling any store in the KC area that had a sliver of a chance of fixing this problem in 24 hours or less. Keith and his staff answered their phone - no phone tree. They knew their inventory, their rental and sales abilities, and they jumped into action. When I arrived at 0930 the next morning, they had a plan A, a Plan B, and epic customer service and attention. I have blanked out the Marine's face as it was taken after the funeral. After fulfilling his duties at Mt Washington Cemetery, uphill, during a week with a rather lot of moisture, his shoes are no longer in regs... but they certainly completed the mission.

I called WE by Geri a few minutes after they opened on Sunday and was granted an appointment at 1:00 pm. When I arrived, I filled out a questionnaire (Name, Wedding Date, Budget, etc..) and was then allowed to look through their dress options. This was my favorite thing about the entire store. Most other shops I've been to do not allow you to look at the dresses yourself. Unfortunately, the size selection was severely lacking. Their website advertises sizes up to a 28 and I am only a 14/16, but I did not find a single dress I liked that could even zip up. I took probably 20 or so dresses to my fitting room, but was only able to try on around 5 because the others were impossible to even get over my thighs. These 5 were able to be pulled on, but I had to have the back clipped to my bra. My consultant (can't remember her name) was helpful, but she was double-booked so had to split time between me and another girl. Not a big deal, she was still attentive and wonderful. It's hard to say whether I would come back. I really enjoyed my consultant and they have a wide selection of designers and styles, but if you're above a size 10 or 12 it's almost impossible to try anything on. read more

Nancy was a kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgable consultant who made me feel so comfortable and beautiful! She listened to what I wanted and made sure to show me plenty of dresses that fit that vision, but she also showed me some gorgeous dresses that were outside of my comfort zone. She explained all of her choices, why she picked them and how she thought they fit my vision or would make me feel and walked me through the details on each one. I knew I wanted to try a little of everything since I had never tried any sort of gowns on before and she delivered! I was able to see myself in a variety of silhouettes and styles, which really helped me narrow it down to the dress of my dreams. It's also worth noting that she was extremely respectful of my budget, which is something I was nervous about with dress shopping in general. I left the appointment feeling confident, beautiful, and so happy. I felt like Nancy was committed to finding me the dress of my dreams, regardless of where I ended up finding it. She was genuinely happy to hear about my second appointment at a different store and told me I'd have a great time. She also let me know that if I ended up wanting to move forward with a dress that I'd tried at Altar, all I would need to do is call and let them know. I never once felt pressured to buy anything from there, which was something I was also worried about with dress shopping in general. Ultimately, my second experience paled in comparison to the one at Altar. At the end of both appointments I knew that a dress I had picked out at Altar was the one for me (coincidentally, it was the very first dress Nancy had me try on, which I think speaks to how well she understood what I was dreaming of!). I called and talked to Sarah, who was also extremely kind and helpful, and told me the dress was mine! Overall, I would definitely recommend Altar Bridal for a wonderful, personal dress shopping experience! Thank you so much to Nancy and Sarah for making it so special!

She had the nerve to tell me she will still charge me 40 dollars SAME price to open my dress. What a way to Try to get over on customers. Lost a client in me. Other better tailors close by. Better service and trusting in price. Trust me it wasn't a good thing. She damage my dress and wouldn't put it back were it was originally before she opened it. So basically my dress is just open on both sides. How tacky ! Hope that was worth it.
