This is the "Say yes to the dress" experience in Houston. Appointments are required, no food, no drink, no kids. Like a bar, it's not a kid friendly (lot's of delicate dresses and things that can be knocked over), so find a sitter. Come with a budget in mind, dress shapes you like (but an open mind), and family/friends who are honest (but not a-holes). Great selection of dresses--from reasonably priced ($800 and up) to designer prices. I would also keep an eye out for last season's sample dresses because they'll give you a discount on those dresses. I stored and steamed my dress at Wedding's by Debbie. I also had them clean it after the wedding so I could put it in consignment. Cleaning was $175. If you have a tailor that you trust, I would go there for your alterations because it's likely to be cheaper than WbD. Also, after purchasing your dress, you do get a gift certificate for $75 towards to heirlooming your dress. read more

I had ordered a dress online and was really disappointed by the results. With my wedding less than 2 months away, I needed to find something quick. My fiance and I were talking over breakfast and he suggested we go look at some dresses because he wanted me to be happy when I walked down the aisle. We had no appointment, didn't call.... just walked in. I even warned him, these places don't work like that, especially on Saturdays, and don't be surprised if they are a bit short with us. We walked in and they asked how they could help. I said I don't have an appointment, I just wanted to browse at a few dresses. Then one of the ladies said sure, but wouldn't you want to try a few on too? I said well, if you have time; that would be great. The woman who helped me was awesome! She said that her appointment didn't show up and that she had all the time to help me. Fate! I had already spent money on a first dress so wanted to stay fairly inexpensive on this one, plus this is my second wedding and we are having 10 guests! She explained how the dresses were positioned in the store, which ones were discounted, which ones I could get as the floor model if it fit, etc. I must have tried on 10 dresses. She never hurried me. She always made me feel comfortable about changing. They also didn't make my fiance feel uncomfortable for being the ONLY guy in there. She brought other dresses that she knew would fit my style. Everytime, I was interested in a dress, she would have the manager run the info to see whether or not I could get the dress in time for the wedding. I fell in love with one of the dresses but because I am rather petitie, we would have to order and because of the timing, it would have been way too close to the date. So she found me a perfect "second" that would be delivered in a week's time! Maybe its because I am not a traditional bride... but I thought the experience was perfectly fine. If you are looking for someone to dote on you and make you feel like an amazing bride, I think they did just fine for that. I noticed alot of brides with their entourages who all had smiles on their faces. Now for alterations- I am rather petitie- 5'1. Everything in my closet is tailored to fit so I have my own seamstress and I am very aware of pricing. Their alterations department is very expensive. My seamstress does amazing work for a 1/4 of the price. I think you just need to be aware that this is a business and they are looking to make money off of people who aren't accustomed to the cost of alterations. Plus, during their high season, it takes weeks to get an appointment on the books and weeks to get the alterations back. If you take it offsite, your personal seamstress can get it done it about a week for small changes like hem and shoulders and a couple of weeks for major work- not months like people say on here. They did tell me that even if I take my dress off-site for alterations, I can still bring it back for them to steam it and get it ready for my wedding day. The only thing I did find a bit off-putting was that they didn't allow children. I have a daughter who is 4 and is very girly and very well-mannered. She wasn't with us that weekend but had she been, she would have loved to be a part of that experience. I think that rule should be situational-based and maybe it is... I went to WeddingsbyDebbie to look for a wedding dress based on the reviews some of my friends had given, but I was SORELY disappointed in my visit there. I told my consultant, Denise, my budget, but she went over it with multiple dresses she pulled for me even if she did try and spout that she was staying within it. She just kept suggesting that Taxes and Alterations should not be considered in the budget numbers. Seriously?? In addition, when I was showing off one of the dresses to my entourage, there was suddenly five ladies that worked in the store that were very suddenly surrounding me and all wanting to touch me in my dress. My girlfriends couldn't even see me past all of the women that suddenly surrounded me, only one of which had I even been introduced to. And they all wanted to touch me!! I freaked out and when I asked them to back off, none of them moved, and I had to run to the dressing room just to get them to back off. The ladies at this store have NO sense of personal space whatsoever. I will never recommend this shop to anyone, the workers there are not what I want in a consultant! read more

fantastic store - HUGE selection so if your just starting out perhaps head somewhere else first to get an idea of what you are looking for before heading to Debbie's otherwise you may end up feeling a little overwhelmed!! My consultant was very friendly and helpful, if a little uninformative.. they will try and give you the hard sell when you show even a little interest in a dress so make sure you take a friend and have your 'i need to think about it' or 'ive only just started looking' speech rehearsed. Overall a lovely store with a great selection of gowns at a variety of price points however i personally found their gowns to be a little uninspired and cookie cutter. PS they do offer a 10% discount on any dress in store upon purchase during your first visit.. so perhaps find that perfect dress elsewhere and then head to Debbie's to save a little cash on its purchase ;) read more

I went to Weddings by Debbie on a whim after being recommended by two friends. I wasn't even planning on having a long dress but made an appointment for later that day and was very glad I did. It was the second (and last) place I went to. The atmosphere and setting is beautiful - very "Pretty Woman" - with more viewing space than any other salon I've been in, mirrors everywhere and very generous dressing rooms. There is a huge selection of dresses and they are laid out by price range (you fill in a short survey so that your assistant can steer you away from the $5000 dresses when your budget is $700-$1000) and by fullness of skirt so it's easy to find something in your range and style. My assistant Kate pulled a few dresses for me to try as I figured she was the expert and I ended up buying the third or fourth one I tried on. The dress is beautiful and I was given a great discount as I bought it off the shop floor (although it looked immaculate as if it had never been tried on) which made it very affordable. Kate was fun, patient, personable and very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for help in choosing your dress. My dress is currently with the alterations department who are doing a great job and I am really looking forward to wearing it on the big day. Update: I am still very happy with the services provided and my lovely dress but I wanted to warn brides that the price you may be quoted for alterations could be very different from the price you end up paying. My alterations were uncomplicated - hem the dress then add a five plastic snaps so that it could be bustled. At my first fitting I paid $250 for alterations vs the $165 I was originally quoted; at my second fitting they wanted another $110. I declined to pay and because I made a fuss and said I would pay it but then complain to the BBB I didn't pay the extra money. However, I have spoken to two friends who bought their dresses there and they had the same experience. One girl paid $1800 for the dress and $1900 for alterations - they told her that's what she had to do and she didn't know better. It's a scam. The salespeople know exactly how much it costs to alter a dress. The alterations team know exactly how much it costs to alter a dress. Because they literally have your dress in their hands and in their building and you don't know how much it costs to alter a wedding dress because you'll probably only ever buy one Weddings by Debbie essentially hold you hostage. Get it in writing exactly how much it is going to cost and what this will include then stand firm and refuse to pay extra charges; it's just a form of stupid bride tax. Basically, we don't know better and they are taking advantage of that and trying to squeeze an extra few hundred dollars out of the bride. There are lots of places around town you can take your dress to where they will do your alterations for half the price of Weddings by Debbie and do them every bit as well and a lot quicker; don't be intimidated by the "well, you can take it somewhere else but they might not get it right" speech because you can somewhere else for a fraction of the price and they will get it right as they do alterations all day every day. read more

I gave a 2 star rating based on the variety of dresses and the service given by my assigned bridal consultant. We arrived with 8 ladies in tow to the first appointment of the morning. I gave a $3,000 budget and the consultant pointed out a few sections and let us pick some dresses. Most of the dresses had lots of lace and bling and were too over the top for me. I tried on the few elegant dresses I could find and then a few that my entourage picked out. I then asked the consultant if she could pull some dresses that she thought would work. She pulled 1 dress and said that was all she could think of. We left the appointment an hour earlier than it ended. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. Fortunately, I found and fell in love with multiple dresses at Houston Bridal Gallery. The "Essence of Australia" line has some amazing dresses, I highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for some subtle pinks. read more

I used to drive by Weddings by Debbie all the time and I always said one day I will get my wedding dress from there... Finally I got engaged and this was the only place I had in mind of going to. From the moment I made my appointment I really loved the selection. The girl that helped me pick out my dress did an outstanding job of making me feel like a million bucks. Their service was exceptional. Now I had read bad reviews on their fitting department but I have to say I felt special just like I did when I found my gown... I had to postpone my wedding and they were more then helpful in rearranging my fitting dates. my experience with them was great! Yes the price was a little expensive but the work they did was flawless. I wish I could get married all over again just to go here for another dress and have that experience again! read more

Initially I was pleased with this company as a few of my friends have purchased their dresses here previously. I think they deliberately give you better service in the beginning. My bridesmaids dresses were all HUGE when they came in. We were told months later that the dress I picked out or that designer runs bigger. So why wouldn't you adjust this for "that designer" when taking the measurements? TWO of my bridesmaids had to have significant alterations done on their dresses. Read: they basically had to be remade! The dresses cost $120 and their alterations ran them $130! Unbelievable. My dress had some flaws that I wanted adjusted just because they bothered me. They wrote them down and when I went to pick up my dress, nothing had be adjusted! I was just given excuses as to why that couldn't be corrected or why that couldnt be moved! I know they can remake a dress there in a matter of weeks so I don't buy the fact that they couldn't tweak the few things I wanted tweaked on my dress! I picked up my dress the Tuesday before my wedding so I had no choice but to take it the way it was. I wasn't happy at all though. The sales lady and purchase of the dress was great. The selection is fantastic and for the most part it was a pleasant experience but just be aware and don't fall for any lines from them! Their new location is also waaaaaaaaay the heck out in Katy so driving there was almost a day trip if you live outside of Katy. read more

My best friend just said yes to the dress this weekend! I had never been to this location, so I was impressed by the selection of bridal gowns they had. Our consultant was very helpful and kind. She gave us recommendations of dresses based on what my best friend wanted, and we never felt pressured to try on anything she didn't want. Overall, great customer service. Overall, my experience was great, and I intend to go back to purchase a different sash than the one that came with my dress. Lena helped me with my dress purchase and AJ took my measurements and gave me awesome advice on sizing (I was in between sizes). Lena really seems to love her job, which is really important in a consultant. She was very efficient in how we used our time. She showed us around and let us browse. While we did that, she pulled a few dresses that matched my style and budget. I was looking for a classic, designer dress that was silk and pearl free since I'm vegan. Other bridal salons either had slim pickin's or ignored my needs all together. Lena told me that the owner of Weddings by Debbie happens to be vegan, and didn't find my request difficult at all. AJ was super cool and accurately measured my dress size. I'm not sure that I'm going to have my dress altered there though. There are just so many reviews of unexpected upcharges and brides unsatisfied with the alterations department that I don't think I can take the chance. I definitely would if I knew AJ was personally handling my dress though. I do have a few suggestions: First, I think the garmet bags could be better. They're just a pink plastic-- a longer pink version of your average dry cleaner's bag. I am sad to say that I've gone home with a nicer garmet bag from Nordstrom for a less than $200 dress, and the wedding dress I purchased was over 10 times that. Another suggestion I have is a wardrobe update for the staff. I think the place is really nice and dressier blouses would go a long way in elevating the business. I also think that some of the other staff and consultants were not as friendly or attentive as AJ and Lena and that has probably contrubited to the mixed reviews of this place. We came in on a Sunday we were thirty minutes late but the attendants were still courteous. If you want a bridal experience this would be it. It was nice, clean and had a large selection of dresses. You even get the feel of being in a bridal salon. Our consultant was very helpful. She at no time pressured us to purchase a dress but was helpful in selecting a dress for the vintage look we were looking for. The set up itself was really classy. The only downside I saw was seating. We reserved for the bride and 6 guest. We had no where but the platforms to sit on with all the chairs and lounges were all taken. There set up seems to be able to accommodate 4-5 brides in one area with one lounge that sat 4 and about 5 chairs. The need to invest in more chairs or accommodate less brides in one area. The accessories were a bit pricey. I recommend the salon, the dress and the whole experience but you can find or make the accessories yourself else where. read more

I got my wedding dress from WBD and loved the entire experience! They are so organized and knowledgable of the process, I always felt taken care of, especially since I only had a few months to get my dress (which they made work!). Denise helped me find my dress and was so kind, fun, and knowledgeable of their dresses. She and her manager made sure I could get the dress in time for shipping and alterations in light of my short time window before I purchased. The alterations process was also incredible - Chantelle was super nice and runs a very busy department with great poise and organization! I was amazed at how much she was juggling yet always with grace and a big smile and incredible attention to detail. My seamstress Idalia was an artist - I was amazed that she was able to get my dress to fit me perfectly after only 2 fittings! I was so happy with how I looked in my dress, the fit and alterations far exceeded my expectations! Through the entire process I felt at ease and confident I'd be happy with what I would get in the end, and I was! I have very mixed feelings on this store. WBD has an excellent selection which is moderately priced (around $2k). I purchased a dress at my first appointment and had a great experience with my consultant Amanda. She was very warm and did an excellent job selecting dresses based on what I asked for. They also gave a decent discount for the sample dress. Initially I received an estimate for alterations (about $600) which seemed a little high but not totally unreasonable. After my first fitting Lupe attempted to add $200 more for taking in the sides and a more expensive bustle that I had not requested, as well as waved off my protest. I later challenged the addition because there were already charges for both of these line items on the estimate and there had been no changes to the dress since then. The alterations manager AJ agreed that the charges were unwarranted and removed them from my account, as well as personally taking on my alterations. She was very pleasant to work with and I had no issues after that. In the end I was pleased with my dress but was disappointed that they tried to sneak additional charges onto my dress. I would certainly recommend getting a firm alterations estimate in the beginning and questioning any changes. They were also running 30-40 min late for each of my alterations appointments so take that into account, and don't forget about taxes on both the dress and alterations! read more

I would give zero stars if it were an option. I was an easy client for Weddings by Debbie. After about an hour the friend I was with pulled I dress that I tried on and wanted to buy. The woman who was supposed to be helping us was no help. I quickly purchased the dress for almost $1,300. I was quoted $700 for alterations. I knew $700 was a rip off, but they offered to hold the dress until I needed it. At the time I lived in a one bedroom apartment and needed a place to keep it, so I said ok to $700 for alterations. I had three quick fittings for alterations. When I picked my dress up the woman told me not to sit down or move much because the fabric would immediately wrinkle! I was not excited to try not to move on my wedding day. On the day, I put on my dress and it immediately started falling apart! Within a few minutes of walking (down the isle) all the alterations had fallen out. They had pins tucked way inside the dress, not safety pins with backs, just pins that slid right out. Before any pictures or even saying I do the dress was ruined. The fabric in the front was going under my feet so I was tripping every step. Within ten minutes of putting the gown on it was ripped and black on the bottom. I took the dress back to weddings by Debbie in tears. They have me $300 and said they would clean the dress. After months and months they finally gave me the ok to come pick it up, and it wasn't even clean. I have horrible memories of my wedding day because of the nightmare with that dress. read more

I haven't even gotten a chance to come see what's in store. Their receptionist or whoever calls and schedules appointments is extremely rude. I work a full time job so Saturdays are the only days I schedule appointments to go dress shopping. Unfortunately they don't allow kids to come so I've had to reschedule twice. I tried to reschedule again and was told I wouldn't be able to. She was incredibly rude on the phone. Definitely isn't the first time I heard of their snooty attitude. I wanted to go for myself and give them benefit of the doubt. Before even ever meeting them in person they live up to their reputation. I'll be glad to take my business elsewhere. If anyone else is family oriented as I am, want their mom, sister, and bridesmaids to accompany them - consider going elsewhere. They're not as accommodating as many other places. I did find my dress at Weddings by Debbie but I did not purchase it from them for a few reasons. It started with a phone call a few days prior to my appointment from my sales consultant Denise. She proceeded to ask me some normal questions like "when is the wedding? what kind of dress are you looking for? who will you be bring with you to the appointment?" I proceeded to answer her questions letting her know my wedding is 11 months away. She answered me with "wow- well you know it takes anywhere between 4-6 months for dresses to come in, so we've gotta find you a dress today!" Then when I went on to tell her what I was looking for and my budget ($1200) she proceeded to tell me that what I was looking for was going to cost me probably $1500 and up. Those comments alone made me feel like she was really just trying to upsell me and was a turn off. A few days later I arrived to my appointment a couple minutes early with my friends. We had to wait about 15 minutes after my appointment time for my consultant who was running behind with another guest. She greeted me and my group to give us a whirl wind of at tour and seated my group in a viewing area. I will say I was impressed by the selection their salon had to offer- but not a bunch within my price point. Denise was helpful with pulling dresses, trying to stay close to my budget (still higher than I wanted) trying on the dresses and assisting me to the viewing area but still emphasized how important it was for me to purchase a gown today. Once "i said yes to the dress" Denise went to fetch her manager to take my measurements, who suggested that I order a size 10- even though all my other measurements were at 6 and my waist was only a quarter inch from an 8. She then proceeded to quote me over $750 of alterations to the dress!! (thats about half of the dress price itself!) The manager was also pushy saying multiple times that I needed to order my dress today. At the end of it all I decided to go with my gut and not order the dress from them- I found the same gown at another shop for about $200 cheaper and who measured me at a size 6- saying that my waist measurement would be flexible since my dress is backless. (this other stores sample was an 8 and it was still big on me by the way...) Overall my impression of Weddings by Debbie was nothing special. The salon is absolutely beautiful, with good selection of dresses and you will definitely have a full TV "say yes to the dress" bridal experience. I do think you will pay the extra money for your dress to get all the "fluff" and I personally do not appreciate a pushy sales staff or improper measurements to quote me very high alterations. All in all- go for the experience but save your money and purchase elsewhere at a better price. read more

I came as a bridesmaid trying to look through and try on dresses while researching options for my sister's wedding. This is a very large shop and has a large room of bridal gowns. They had a decent selection of bridesmaid's dresses. The staff seemed a little perturbed that I had arrived without an appointment - but because I arrived at opening during the week, I think they let it slide. I did not ask for much help - but neither did I receive any. When the time come to actually choose a dress, I decided not to visit this shop, just because the initial reception was snotty and a little icy. I'm not loaded with money and I don't have a lot of time to spend setting up appointments and trying on tons of dresses in a nice shop. So maybe this place just wasn't for me - but I do live just around the street and I am young women with lots of unmarried friends, so I still think they just lost business from a key demographic, and that just does not seem smart. read more

Less than one star as far as I'm concerned. Allowed me and my four daughters to go in, walk around and choose a few bridal gowns to try on, however, as soon as my oldest daughter stepped out of the dressing room they approached me and VERY RUDELY said my youngest, who was 9, had to leave the store because children were not allowed. All she was doing was sitting on the couch waiting to see her sister . We quickly threw those dresses in their face and stormed out, yelling and gripping the whole way out the front door!!!! I have been in four weddings, and this was by far the worst anyone has ever treated a bride or bridesmaid. First, my girlfriend orders our bridesmaids dresses to match the blue of her wedding dress. She showed the salesgirl a picture if her blue wedding dress that she wants the bridesmaid dresses to match exactly. The salesgirl showed her color swatches and filled out the contract. My girlfriend had to prepay for the four dresses, and was told they would all come in at once as they needed to be cut from the same fabric. She signed a contract and went on with her wedding planning. When the dresses came in they were purple. The manager told her she had signed a contract for that color purple. They went back and forth. My girlfriend kept reminding them that she would not have signed a contract if she knew the names of the colors listed on their were actually shades or purple when she had shown her salesperson a picture of her dress the colors needed to match. They told her that since she had signed the contract then she would have to go buy her own fabric to replace the dresses they had screwed up to get a sale and pay them to alter them. The wedding is 30 days away. When I went to go pick up my dress it took them fifteen minutes just to find it. From day one, they proved themselves to be completely unprofessional. read more

By far the worst experience and wouldn't recommend any bride go here. I'm NOT high maintenances or demanding so for me to be this upset means there is something very wrong. The one thing you don't won't when shopping for such a big day is to feel bad during your wedding shopping experience and that's exactly how it was. I paid for my dress and I was the last appointment, I left with the staff and owner. Unfortunately, I decided the dress wasn't the one and called when they reopened the next morning. They refused to refund me. Still made me pay for alterations I won't be getting done. Every other bridal shop I've been to allows a grace period for returns. The process has been so absolutely horrible that I didn't even want to go pick up the dress. And during covid I expect more. There was a bride there who was upset about her alterations and I should have known then to just leave. They do not even deserve the one star I'm forced to give on here read more

Wouldn't let my friend who drove in for her appt from College Station bring her 11 week old son in with her even though there were three of us with her to watch him and he was strapped in a rocker chair and couldn't possibly do anything to their precious dresses. I had a wonderful experience. I picked a Friday at 4P which worked best with my bridesmaids schedule of coming in town for the weekend and we pretty much had the place to ourselves for a couple of hours. I am sure Saturdays are a madhouse ! LOL We had lots of room and the consultant was very helpful, very attentive and did not pressure me at all. She actually did make a suggestion of a dress that I would not have picked myself and it turned out to be one of the top 2 dresses of the day. This is the place to go for that true Salon experience. They have nice furniture, huge mirrors, and very nice decor. Now they have dresses that run from the highest of the high and some moderately prices ones too. Evidently, lots of local celebrities and "who's who" come here to shop, but don't let that deter you. My consultant treated me like I was just as important to her. read more

I don't know what to say about this place. The word that comes to mind regarding their bridesmaid department is lackluster. It probably didn't help that we had gone to a really nice salon with great service and better prices for the same dresses before this appointment. The room is disorganized and the racks are crammed. The attendant wasn't attentive. I would advise they look into what offers other stores give so they can be more competitive. I wanted to leave right away but my, always polite, Matron-of-Honor insisted that we should try a few on to be nice. I predict we were there for 20, forced, minutes. read more

The whole experience was terrible-from ordering the dress to the alterations. We went to pick up and try on our dresses & no one told us we had to have an appt nor that "no babies, no strollers, no exception". When I ordered my dress I was told the alterations would be no more than $100 no matter how much they had to take in. When we went and got fitted the lady at the counter said it would be $200. It would be $89 to take up the bottom and another $89 to take it in at the top. When I brought this up, the lady at the alterations counter asked who told me and that person didn't know what they were talking about. They are ripping people off! I would not recommend this place to anyone! If you do buy a dress from there, I would recommend you do NOT get it altered there or if you want to get an estimate first before committing to getting alterations done there. This place has a ton of dresses in a range of prices. You are guaranteed to find something there. My bridal consultant was Shantal. SHE WAS AMAZING!! So helpful, friendly and upbeat. My experience buying my dress was great. However, be cautious when picking out a size. I got a dress that was 4x my pants size, which then needed a lot of taking in. It was when I got to the alterations department that I had problems. I scheduled my visit and I was running a little late so I called them to let them know I was on my way. When I called they told me that my appointment was not for another hour so I didn't stress in getting there. However, I knew that I did not schedule my appointment for that time. I never got a reminder call either. Once I got there I had to wait upfront for over an hour. Then when I went to try on my dress to get it altered I had to wait for 3 girls ahead of me. Only to be told that she had to hem my dress before she could even do anything. At the end of this appointment I was then told it was going to be about $600 for alterations! I told the woman that this is not what I was told when I bought the dress. She said it doesn't matter what I was told that would be the price. I was very upset t about the price of alterations and she wanted me to pay that all up front. I was able to pay half at that appointment. When I went back for my second fitting they had not finished hemming the dress! So she wanted me to come back the next day to do the bustle. I explained that I took off from work to make this appointment so I was not able to do that again. The seamstress was able to work with me but I again was disappointed that I never got a phone call to reschedule my appointment. My third fitting again was not great. The bustle was not how she showed me and the top was still too big so I had to schedule 4 visits to get it right when they really only allow 3. Again, this is a place you will find a dress but be cautious with alterations and up charging. Once you buy the dress, alterations know they have you hooked. read more

I had a great experience here UNTIL I purchased my dress. After I paid, my experience went completely downhill. The alterations department has zero cares for making you wait 2+ hours after your appointment time, poor customer service, and I even went to one of my appointments only to find out my dress hadn't even been touched since my last appointment. This place has a huge selection of wedding gowns, and I ended up buying my gown here. If you purchase on your first visit, you get a discount, which I exercised. Most of the saleswomen are nice, but I've come across some snooty employees. No matter, you're a bride on a mission. I appreciate that they will store your gown for you until wedding day. There is also complimentary steaming. I'd recommend every bride checkt his place out; even if you don't buy, you can fish for ideas. read more

Weddings by Debbie was my first wedding dress stop in Houston after trying other salons around Texas. I was super excited as I had heard great things, and they were able to squeeze me in on a Saturday after being added to the wait list. I read on the website of the rule "cannot allow any children 12 or younger", which to me read standard for a bridal salon. I came with my fiance's family ready to try on dresses. Once inside, there's a small tiny sign that says "no babies, no strollers." My future sister in law had her 6 month old infant with her. I had been to bridal salons before, and of course you do not want toddlers/children running around touching the dresses, but I had never seen a business turn away a woman with an infant. I made note that the website said "Children under 12" which I interpreted as not newborn infants (whom are being breast fed presumably) and aren't necessarily able to be separated for the 2 hour+ appointments. Still, she was turned away because of my 6 month old future niece. They wouldn't budge. We got off to an awful start, and she was sweet enough to wait in the car for us. I didn't want to be charged for the appointment, so I continued on trying dresses. My saleswoman told me where each brand was, then left me to pick dresses myself. We had previously spoken on the phone, but once in the store she didn't ask me what style I wanted, what price pointed I wanted to be at, give me any direction towards any type of dresses. Once I flagged her down after aimlessly wandering around the store and realizing every dress I was choosing was out of my budget, she then helped me. I tried on a handful of beautiful dresses, however the clips they use provide 0 support. The dresses kept slipping off of me (and I'm not a twig - about a size 6) and I could not get a good "idea" of what the dress would look like due to the baggy fits - whereas other salons do their best to make it fit as well as they can. I'm thankful for my helpful saleswoman and her kindness, however not impressed with the women working at the front, the lack of "no infants, no strollers" on the website (which I would like to recommend they now include for clarity - or simply allow newborns inside.), and would like to suggest investing in new, heavier duty clips that can actually hold the dresses on those whom are smaller sizes. read more

First the customer service: The woman helping me was very nice but my biggest complaint was that she did not respect my budget. She asked us right from the start and we told her our range. She then gave us a tour of the studio. The dresses are divided into different areas and rooms. After she finished her tour, I explicitly asked if there were certain rooms or areas that I should stay out of and certain ones that I should focus on given my budget. Her response was the wishy-washy "oh there's a range in all of them." Luckily the prices are clearly on all of the tags, but the woman didn't give me any kind of warning when I was looking at dresses out of my budget AND she actually brought me a dresses to try on that were over my budget. I consider this a cardinal sin in bridal customer service. Also, Debbie's gives brides 2 hour appointment blocks. Because I only found a handful of dresses that fit the style of my wedding (see below), I was done in about 50 minutes. Knowing I had another hour on my appointment and because my sister was in town in from California, I asked if we could use the remaining hour to look at bridesmaid dresses. My salesperson, who I am sure could tell I wasn't about to purchase from her, very curtly said that no, I would need another appointment for that. I realize that was not her area of specialty, but really, how hard is to pull out the binder and show me color swatches? Also it was a weekday so while there were a few other customers there, the store was not busy. And the other 2 stores I visited were much more accommodating. Now about the dresses: I totally agree with Melissa T -- the dresses at WBD have a distinct style. Most of the dresses are very formal and on the ball gown spectrum. I was also looking for some lace and something much more tailored and streamlined. I DEFINITELY recommend that if you are considering going, look very thoroughly through the websites of the designers they have listed on their website. If you don't like the dresses you see, then perhaps this is not the store for you because even though they really do have about 1000 dresses, you will end up like me and finding only a small selection of those you would actually want to try on. And on the note of the dresses, their samples are big. I am certainly not a super skinny person but I am 5'2 and on the more petite size. Almost every dress I tried on was a 12 or a 14. This combined with the fact that the woman helping me did a haphazard job of clipping me in made it really difficult to tell how the dress would look on me. I am not complaining as I realize that's easier to make something smaller vs larger but just thought it would be helpful for other brides to know going in as being able to see how the dress will look, especially the back, can make a big difference in the purchase decision. read more

So I'm from Austin and went all the way to Katy to visit Weddings by Debbie to only leave empty handed. The place is huge and has a great selection. However, the consultant assigned to me was above and beyond rude! She barely event talked to me and it seemed like she was not interested in my business. If you schedule an appointment and are assigned to Leigh then your better off not going at all. She completely ruined my wedding dress shopping experience. read more
