I watched him skate that night and I havent seen him pick one up since....... 4 1/2 years ago! Anyways when he said he wanted to go to the skate park i was down! This park is super cool. It can also be used for BMX bikes. I also seen some younger kids with scooters in there. I believe helmets and pads are needed, but no one is there to scold you. There was a nice crowd the other day and it was surprisingly chilly out. There are bleachers right outside the park for people like me who cant skate. The park consists of a giant bowl with different levels of depth. It also has concrete step-like things as well as a grind rail... not to mention a huge half pipe. Super cool park. I'm excited to go back w/ my fiance whenever it gets nicer. Just a note, no real bathrooms, only portajohns. Also there is a BMX track right next the skatepark. That also looked cool. The parking lot is huge so dont worry about parking.

Anymore my skating has kinda died and I started picking up biking and decided to stop here. I always come in the mornings and there's never anyone else here. The park definitely got some abuse from years ago mostly just some spray paint and trash but the ramps and everything are still in great shape. They have bleachers to chill out on and watch people. They have a massive half pipe that seems impossible to drop in on. Tons of bowls to pump around on. I mean this park has a little bit of everything for all skill groups. This is the park I learned to drop in at and I brought a board the other day and I still have it. It's just a fun time to come here and skate and bike around no matter the skill level. Big ups to southpark and all the sponsors that made this place possible to all the people around. It's a great park and has a lot of thought into it. I love coming here and I definitely recommend it if you haven't been yet or just looking for some new features to build skills. I'll definitely continue to return.

Lock 3 Park is a park in the heart of Akron. It has a cool cascade like steps. I visited the park…read moreon multiple occasions attending yoga fest and most recently Sakura festival. The park is gorgeous, has a very convenient and clean towpath. This is DORA area so you can enjoy beverages from nearby places. There is also a stage for performers. Bring a blanket or a chair for extra comfort during the shows, there is no permanent seating. Only the stage area is covered so bring an umbrella on rainy days. Parking is conveniently located by the Children's museum. Parking rates vary. There are multiple floors of parking in the enclosed garage with convenient elevator or stairs to descend directly to the park.

This park is in downtown Akron, Ohio. It is located on King James Way (also known as South Main…read moreStreet). It is right on the same lot as the Akron Children's Museum. I visited Lock 3 park over a weekend (20-21 July 2019) for the 38th annual African American Festival & Parade. I was working at a booth at the festival. I wish more advertisement was done for the festival because it wasn't that busy on Saturday but way more people came on Sunday. Apparently though, Saturdays tend to be a quieter day according to one of the festival organizers. There was no rain during the time I was there and so it was a warm day to be outside (it was actually very hot). The festival organisers had my team and another vendor under a big tent so I was happy to be under some shade even though it was still very hot. LOCK 3 PARK -- This is a family friendly outdoor park that hosts events as well. There is a stage where different performers entertain. The park is a medium sized park so it isn't big. There are some benches to sit at around the park. A canal lock is used to raise and lower boats. Lock 3 sots on the Ohio-Erie Canal which is the waterway that flows into to Lake Erie. I don't known if this lock device is used anymore but I have a photo of the canal in my attached pictures. LOCATION -- As I stated earlier, this park is in downtown Akron. There is currently so much construction happening on S. Main Street that parking and finding a way to enter the park can be challenging especially if you don't live in Akron. Thankfully, I was dropped off both on Saturday and Sunday. Overall, this is a nice outdoor space. Swings and maybe a small playground would be a nice addition for kids. Also, a shaded canopy or covering would be great for hot days outside. **** - 98 total reviews in 2019 - 307 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 22 July 2019

No matter if it is just a drive through on a beautiful fall or Spring day or if you visit the rose garden for a concert in the summer or visit mid-winter then the whole place turns white, this place is beautiful! I have some of my earliest memories as a child going to Mill Creek park and renting a boat on the lake. My Grandfather used to take me golfing with him on the golf course. We would have a wonderful time at this beautiful park. No matter where you enter the park, Boardmen, Austintown, Struthers or where ever you are sure to see beautiful trees, tons of hiking trails, the rivers and lakes that run through the middle and some beautiful birds, animal's, and other creatures throughout this park. The nature trails are some of my favorite and on a beautiful fall day there is nothing like going through this park with the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees, the air is crisp and you have cold mornings and warm afternoons. This park is so special to me, I have been here for birthday parties, weddings and even some funerals or celebration of life ceremonies. Certain places inside the park you can get some great view of downtown Youngstown. I wish I could have seen Youngstown in its hayday when the steel mills were working! No matter the reason you go to Mill Creek Park, I am sure you will have a wonderful trip. It has been a few years now since I have made it back to Youngstown, but when I go back, I know I will end up in this beautiful park!

There are several entrances to drive in and exit from. Plus it is all free! If highly recommend just taking a little drive in the morning to check out all the park has to offer.
