The 20mil poly was now serving as a pool liner to the deluge of water that had occurred. In order to help move the water out, that liner had to be cut out and then the ground had to dry out before figuring out how to replace it. After contacting a few other companies, I met with Sebastian from HomeStrong. He walked through our crawl space (5' high) and determined how to best repair and get the place back to its original condition. We chose HomeStrong because Sebastian made us feel comfortable, showed us what we could expect and gave us a team who could get the job done the following week. And the pricing was very competitive. Also, it is a family owned company - having our own family business, we really like supporting other families with businesses too. We could not be happier with the results. The project took a little more than 3 days. The team - Daniel & Christian - took such great pride in their work that once the poly was installed, they took their shoes off every time to keep the ground clean! And the encapsulation is even BETTER than it was before. The products they use are top notch. AND the color is WHITE which makes everything look so clean!! A side note here: Not having had exposed ground under our home before, the difference in the humidity and coolness in the house was directly impacted by that exposed ground, even after drying it out for a month prior to reinstalling the encapsulation system. We had a difficult time getting the house to cool less than 73º. Once poly was replaced, the house immediately cooled down and was much more comfortable. They were nice, seemed knowledgeable and so I asked them if they could come out the following morning to do an assessment. They came out and told me it would be 50% down to get started. I was fine with this and paid the price. They did a great job at putting up plastic walls to quarantine the work. However, it took a very long time. Finally humidifiers were put in place with fans blowing to the outside. After stepping in water in the middle of the night, I had to figure out why one of the humidifiers was leaking. set up wrong so the water came out of the plastic hose, all over the floor. The plastic drain hose had to be placed into the sink so it would drain properly. This should've been a warning! When I received the final invoice ..., Sticker shock!!! (I was told to read the contract. They have the right to bill the customer more than the quoted estimate if the work goes over, that price. They can do this without informing the customer beforehand.) Pure Restore gave me a price which they told me would be 50% down to get started. I explained to Pure Restore that I was not turning the Claim into insurance, I was paying the bill myself. I confirmed that I would like to keep the price down and asked if they would communicate with me at every step in order to save money. However, communication from the office was very poor. The workmen were reluctant to explain things as we went through the process. The final invoice was a total shock! it was almost $12,000 more than the quoted price. When I attempted to speak with someone about the invoice I was told that the contract says the deposit is only a suggested price that the company can bill any amount over and above the quoted estimate. The explanations didn't amount to $12,000! I even explained that I took out all of the wet, thoroughly soaked carpet myself the charge was not taken off of the bill. I called several times to try and talk to someone about it to no success. After calling the general manager about broken granite, he gave me the runaround and treated me like I was ignorant. As soon as the work was done, I started getting getting invoices emailed, late notices texted and phone calls to pay the "late" invoice. No grace period..., Pure Restore told me they will start charging interest fees. I felt harassed and intimidated by the voicemails, emails and texts. I dipped into my retirement account and paid the enormous bill from pure restore. What a nightmare experience!

When I didn't get that call but she reached my daughter my daughter called me and asked me what her problem was bc she was so snarky with her. So I got the third makeup appointment booked and decided that I would check other places as I really was starting to wonder about this place and their other negative Yelp reviews reinforce the feeling that I got from my 3-4 contacts with this outfit. Got booked with a terrific company, A Brighter Glow in Brighton and had the best experience on the phone with an immediate confirmation and followup text and the tech Roy was professional and prompt and meticulous.
