These guys are pure, high-quality greed. Lots of smiling, 'helpful; staff. Lots of expensive organics for those that like that stuff. Tons of store-branded, high-priced, weird-a$$ 'generics'. Surprisingly minimal recognized brand names (because you should buy their own branded items). Customer service has gone down over the years from 'actually helpful/compensatory/problem solving' to 'empathetic/placating'. My last 3 interactions with managers (over about 2 years) have been pretty disappointing. I guess it's no longer one or two flukes at this point... In short, the store (as always) looks great- but really (in a sense) hates you and just wants to (excessively) profit off of you. I am sad that I can no longer shop here thinking I was supporting a store that cared about it's community. They probably still do scholarships and the like- but the basics of 'what you go into a store for' are very skewed here now. read more

I am just shocked about how unorganized this Wegmans is. From trying to get into the store through the construction in the front - not to mention the strange parking lot, to the way the sub shop payment system is set up. We actually stopped just to get a Wegman's sub - other than going to a DeBella's directly they are usually the best - and stood in an unorganized line. The sub shop staff was good at cranking our selections out, but then we couldn't pay right there - go to the catering desk they said. So off we went to the catering desk, just to find a customer actually placing a catering order and a line of people waiting to pay for subs. One person in line just finally had enough and went to the regular registers, as we did, because there was no clue how long this might take. When we got to the registers, we found them backed up, too. Managers were trying to help cashiers adjusting purchases. We finally were able to find a cashier that could help us ring up the subs. A couple of suggestions "Dear Wegmans Manager": 1. Allow payment right at the sub shop 2. Teach your employees to acknowledge waiting customers 3. Provide self-checkout registers 4. Take a look around you - this store has a problem. I have *never* been in a Wegman's that had sub-par service - until now. read more

I fell in love with wegmans while I was living in nj ; not inexpensive but their quantity surpasses the cost. Their in house made products are delicious and worth a try . Seafood, deli , cheese , salad and even sushi counters how can you go wrong. Great space to park and lovely staff. read more

Over the years this has become my Go To Wegmans location! It's local, consistent and easy to navigate when you're short on time. Not the largest of the local Wegmans options but just as mighty. The quality of the meats, produce, cheeses and baked goods are always on point. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the pharmacy has become my preferred option. read more

Downgrading to 3 stars. Everything is up to standard still BUT, I have noticed subtle changes that they don't want you to be aware of. Prime example :- the tissues. The number in the box is noticeably less than a few months ago but the price is the same. Some of the artisnal bread, same size but more expensive. I think if they were a little more honest about these things and brought them to the customer's attention, then I for one would have a lot more respect. I wonder how many items have been altered. A lot probably. Wegmans like to promote themselves as great philanthropists doing good for the local community but they are the same as all the other money grubbers. Wegmans Food Markets is a supermarket chain headquartered in Rochester, New York. What is there to say about Wegmans that hasn't been said? They have a rabid fanbase of which I am a part of. Wegmans has been considered more an experience than a grocery store, and that's not far from the truth. I lived in Maryland for 4 years and when a Wegmans finally popped up, I purposely drove 45 minutes to shop at it. It was like receiving a hug from home. This is the location I grew up with as I was raised in the area. It's one of the smallest locations as far as size goes, but they still have a wide selection of products in every department, including their own house brand which is great. I frequently get their subs (buffalo chicken finger is my favorite), and they offer plenty of ready-to-go meals. Their departments are always well stocked and it's extremely rare that they don't have something I want or need. They have a great deli department, their pharmacy is fast and efficient, and they have a great floral section for a grocery store. Their prices can be slightly higher than other stores, but the quality of product is better, as is the experience of shopping there. Employees are always friendly and seem happy, and they always have plenty of cash register lines open. This one borders one of the less favorable parts of the city, so you have to deal with the people that live in the area, but it also tends to be less busy, so it's a trade off. Alex in the bakery department is awesome. Late evening I went to the bakery department in hopes of buying a nicely decorated cupcake For my neighbor who is 90. The cupcakes were frosted no decorations . Alex decorated it beautifully and left her station as she was frosting a cake to do this.She was super polite and courteous and didn't make me feel like I was bothering her . She offered and made my day as well as my neighbors. Thank you Wegmans for employing nice and courteous people who go over and beyond. read more

Happened to be in town visiting a friend and because I've always heard upstate people raving about Wegman's, I requested a trip. But if given the choice between Wegman's and say, Trader Joe's, I'd still go with TJ's. Wegman's is clean and has fairly priced sales, but besides that, I thought products were still costly (Whole Foods level). I didn't see any employees in sight for me to ask questions, and the fact that they don't give returns without a receipt makes me appreciate TJ's that much more. I purchased a few cans of tuna and some craisins, but sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations. read more

I was a dedicated Wegmans shopper for several years. They lost me when they doubled the price of their sparkling water. When I asked why it cost twice as much as the sugared sodas, they told me it was because they could get away with it. When I started buying that elsewhere, I hadn't intended to stop shopping Wegmans entirely, but I found lots of other items that I couldn't get at Wegmans either. I finally just stopped going Now I shop Weis and Tops. Both seem cheaper and just as good. Wegmans has the sandwich bar and some prepared meals, but they are no cheaper than a real restaurant and there is no restaurant experience. Wegmans does have a broader selectiOn of Asian foods. Tops has some fantastic prices on meat. I got some beautiful boneless pork chops last night for $1.99 a pound. read more

The Stars missing are for the sub shop. My experience here has been unpleasant. They were missing items from the vegetable selection and did not make an effort to replace them. A bit odd given the expansive store before them that carries those missing items. The rest of the store is great, and I've received the standard Wegmans level of customer service. They don't seem to offer as much Organic produce as Fairmount, or as many varieties of donuts, but they do take special orders. I like to keep my organic salads real with a side of donut. Typical Wegmans. A bit smaller with less of a selection of both produce and fixed items than the one I typically go to (the one located in Dewitt, by Liquor City). Still everything looks fresh. Zero stars an option? I got attitude from every employee I spoke with including the shift manager. We were paying an obscene amount for a sheet cake and it wasn't ready for pickup, and manager made it seem like it was somehow my fault for wanting to pick up the cake on time. From PA to NY, Wegmans is by far the best grocery store. Their produce, meats and seafood are always fresh and priced well. They have a huge organic selection throughout the store which is more than I've seen at any other grocery store. The Wegmans brand is also significantly cheaper than brand name products. What's even better is that they are open 24 hours! Sign up for their loyalty program and you can get good savings off already decent prices. This is a smaller and a little less showy wegmans but that doesn't mean it's any less impressive than the other wegmans. Like most wegmans, this is a family place. I have been coming here my whole life and in fact some of the same people work here. They have enjoyed seeing my brother and myself grow up and look forward to seeing my mom in stores. Talking about the products, everything is top notch. We just got some lobster tails from here for the first time and they were delicious. My favorite part about wegmans is their impeccable produce and specialty products. It really doesn't get any better than they have. Even though this wegmans is smaller, they have a large section of gluten free products, vegan meat alternatives and dairy free cookies. They have things here that I can't get anywhere else. Man, I miss Upstate sometimes. I grew up with this Wegmans--from its days as an orange and brown monstrosity, to its modern incarnation as a super-mega-destination store. Lately my in-laws & myself have noticed a decline in the customer service at this location. Particularly today when I was craving a specific sub in the sub shop. I was the only person in line & there were five or six employees behind the counter. One was at least stocking things & one was on the phone with a customer. However the rest of the employees were joking around & it took almost a full minute for them help me despite the eye contact I made with all of them. So when I finally did receive service the girl starts with the usual, roll, mayo, cheese & then I ask for the chicken I wanted & she goes to the back & tells me they don't have any chicken. That's the second time this has happened at this location. So I walk away without any sub & the way the employees behaved is what is prompting me to write this. I've gone to other Wegmans stores & never had the bad service like I've received today & before so I'm wondering what changed. I tried calling twice to the number online that is provided to tell a manager about my experience but no one answered. I'm just going to go ahead & not shop at this location anymore. read more

This Wegmans has gone down hill fast. The prepared food section has been the same items for over a year, no variety at all. The hot stations are never refilled, once they're gone they're gone; and always by 6pm you can guarantee that. There are never enough registers open during peak hours (11-1, 4-6); employers will just stand at the managers podium laughing and joking around watching people get frustrated at 5-10 min waits to cash out. The produce section must get stocked every other day because it's never fully stocked, especially around the end of the day. I have been there many times at various hours of the day and it's the same case. On the positive side, items outside of the produce and deli area, the stock is usually pretty good (H&B, canned goods, frozen, meat, etc.). If you live in the area it's worth the extra 5 min drive to go to the fairmount location, the parking lot is always daunting but the selection is 200x better and always have plenty of lines open. read more

This Wegmans isn't the biggest one in town, but it's my favorite, because of the friendliness of the staff. Always helpful, always knowledgeable about where to find things. Just passing in the aisles, staff usually offer a smile or a greeting as they pass by. My Mom made the best meatloaf in the world, but Wegmans is almost as good. I never go there without buying their delicious meatloaf. My only big complaint is that they cut back on the Asian Food bar - very limited selection, and it isn't always well stocked. read more
