    Fried Cheese Curds

Well as we're driving home past Allentown, our Yelp app suggested Union & Finch. It was a good recommendation as the food and service were wonderful. Initially we were concerned as no one was in the place. The restaurant was clean, service was hospitable and they had some hip blues playing. Come to find out, we were the early birds this day and when we left the place was bustling. For lunch we split the Union Burger w/ fries and had an appetizer of fried cheese curds topped with a honey balsamic and nuts. Freaking delicious and my first bite of that burger made me wish I hadn't split with the wife. They had a nice selection of beer and drinks although we didn't partake. I wish this place was in Maryland. Service was on point. Atmosphere was inviting and I'm sure there's a huge local following. They also have a giant parking lot.

The food was very fresh and the service was prompt. The couscous salad was refreshing and light. The burger with fries was ok and the drink was delicious. I recommend this restaurant in Allentown!

We had an early reservation prior to an in-town concert. The restaurant was packed. We sat by the bar (I never saw the main room). Our light bites food was delicious and the service attentive. Salad was tasty, fries were hot and fish tacos delicious. We didn't have the burgers but they were huge.

A Night to Remember at Union & Finch Last night, my friends and I stumbled upon a gem that deserves every bit of praise: Union & Finch. Nestled in a cozy corner of Allentown, this spot blends laid-back charm with culinary finesse in a way that makes you want to linger long after the plates are cleared. We were in town for a couple evenings during the DCI East Classic. The Food Let's talk about that steak frite--simple, elegant, and bursting with flavor. The steak was perfectly seared, tender enough to melt with each bite, and paired with a mountain of peppery arugula that added a fresh, zesty contrast. The fries? Golden, crispy, and addictive. And that green sauce in the little bowl? A mystery blend of herbs and magic that elevated everything it touched. It's the kind of dish that doesn't try too hard, because it doesn't need to. Drinks & Atmosphere Between sips of iced tea and lemon water, we soaked in the ambiance. The rustic wooden table and outdoor seating gave off backyard dinner party vibes--casual, warm, and effortlessly cool. You could hear laughter from nearby tables, see bowls of comfort food being passed around, and feel the buzz of a place that knows how to host a good time. The Company Union & Finch isn't just about the food--it's about the moments. Sharing bites, swapping stories, and watching the sun dip behind the rooftops while surrounded by good friends made the evening unforgettable. It's the kind of place that turns dinner into a memory. If you're looking for a spot that nails the balance between comfort and quality, Union & Finch is it. Come hungry, stay late, and let the good vibes do the rest.

We stopped in for brunch at this adorable neighborhood spot and overall had a great experience, with a few hiccups. Parking was a little tricky, it's on a narrow residential street, so be prepared to circle a bit or walk a little. We arrived right before they opened and there was already a line forming, which we took as a good sign (and it was!). The restaurant itself is super cute inside--charming decor and a cozy vibe. That said, it gets really loud. The food was definitely a highlight! I had the Waffles Foster and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, buttery, and perfectly sweet. My brother got the steak and eggs, cooked medium rare. He said the first half was perfect, but the second half leaned more on the rare side. They don't have a formal kids' menu, but they were accommodating when we asked for pancakes and sausage for the little one. Service was okay--not bad, but not super attentive either. Our coffee took a while to arrive after being forgotten, and it was a bit of a wait for salt after we asked. Nothing that ruined the experience, just things to be aware of. Despite a few bumps, I'd definitely come back. Great food and a fun atmosphere--it's easy to see why this place draws a crowd!

First time customer. Most likely it was the busiest time to go. Sunday brunch around 1 PM. I can say that we were seated promptly and the service was excellent! The indoor bar/restaurant has great lighting and a very comfortable, inviting atmosphere. It got very crowded minutes after we were seated make it a challenging to hear conversation across the table. Our meals came out quickly and for the most part were very good. My shrimp and grits Benedict was tasty but served with burnt toast and a runny poached egg. The grits, shrimp and roasted potatoes though were delicious. And can't say enough about the wonderful service!

Posted tonight from Union and Finch in Allentown. I had heard for a long time that their burger was excellent there and I was in the mood for a burger so it felt like a no brainer. My bartender/server (sat at the bar) was very friendly as was any other staff (and I assume the owner or manager) that I spoke with at all. Started with a toasted pecan old fashioned that had a nice flavor to it. Enjoyed that thoroughly. For their Union Burger which was Pat LaFrieda beef with a red onion marmalade, bacon, and sweet pickles. This does not come with cheese so I added it. The beef/bacon/roll quality were all quite good. The fries were crisp and seasoned with salt. The burger was 2 temps over what I asked for, which is always a tough thing for me to get past. This made it so a lot of the juices were cooked out of it, and being someone who knows LaFrieda beef very well, it didn't do it justice because of that. The onions were also a bit confusing to me. They still tasted perfectly fine, but the wording on the menu led me to believe they would be cooked down over a long period and be super tender. These weren't that. All in all this burger definitely Didn't Suck, but they missed on a few key things that really would have made it excellent.

My girlfriend had three over-easy eggs with smoked bacon and I had a grilled chicken omelet with gruyere and spinach with a side of potatoes. The omelet was excellent. The potatoes could have been a crispier by they were fresh. My girlfriend enjoyed her dish as well. For a Saturday, it was strange that they had only one server and one cook in the kitchen. With its airy outside patio and spacious interior, we loved the vibe. We were warmly greeted by our server Paige and were seated. Our spicy margaritas had just the right amount of kick! We were off to a great start... We dined on chili and a dish called El Fresco. The El Fresco are marinated seasoned chicken chunks served on a bed of sliced mozzarella and tomatoes. It was so savory and satisfying. The Honey could not stop saying how good the chili was!! I was lucky enough to get a spoonful (or two) before it was all gone! You will not go wrong with either one of these dishes. Paige was nice enough to answer my questions about the Brunch menu and history of the restaurant. She directed me to the wall where an article about the owner Marta was hanging. We then had the pleasure of meeting her when she came by the table to check on us. We're so happy we stopped in. The food and service were top notched. When we're in the area again, we're definitely returning. If we lived in the area I could see us becoming regulars here. We ordered the Caesar salad (phenomenal) The steak tartare, just divine perfection The waitress heard me talking about the sweat breads from the chicken dish (that I wasn't ordering, I'll explain shortly) and said the chef could do them as a side dish, DELICIOUS!!! My husband got the world's largest most delicious pork chop. Now, my meal. I ordered the halibut and recognized that perhaps it wasn't for me, but I ordered it it was my choice I wasn't going to send it back. Our waitress took note that I wasn't eating and told me that simply would not do and hustled to the kitchen to come out with the chicken dish, I was so appreciative of her noticing and accommodating this, truly, amazing service and that chicken was succulent beyond words! We also got 3 of the desserts, the seasonal eggnog bread pudding, the cinnamon raisin bread pudding which was insanely delicious as I personally am not a huge bread pudding fan but if every bread pudding was this? That would be my go to! And of course the butterscotch pudding which better never leave the menu because it is lick your plate delicious!!! I also enjoyed a hot cocktail which on a cold night was heavenly. Bolete is such an incredible culinary journey that we specifically go there from our home state because we know it will always be inviting, delicious and warm with heart and soul from the chef and staff.

Their farm-to-table approach means a rotating menu and selection of curated ingredients that make up stunning dishes. From appetizer to dessert (which sadly we didnt have room for) the menu is thoughtful and intentional. Starting with cocktails - the famous Sleigh Bells Ring (featured on the cover of Edible Magazine) was perfection. Not too sweet, warming and tart with the mescal and boozy cranberry sauce- and incredible concoction. The Dark Love Story was equally seductive with a vodka base and aperitif blend with red wine reduction. The thought they put into their menu doesnt just stop at food! We were torn between starters but the Tartare was our pick and an excellent one. The egg was golden, the capers crisp, and the truffle aoili was never overpowering. The housemade crisp chips were a welcome change from the often offered toast bites while still being an elevated dish. The potato crsted cod was served beautifully with a lobster broth poured table-aide and was accompanied by fresh clams, shrimp, and mussels- honestly not a critique to be found. The grilled Chipotle flank steak was cooked to perfection and the hen of the woods mushroom was a showstopper. All in all I struggled to not make a reservation for every night I was in town because it is a must to go back. The decor and staff arw welcoming and as thoughtful as the meals served with mushrooms present all throughout complimenting the Bolete name. 10/10 all around.

She was kind, professional, patient, and knowledgable about both food and drink on a grand scale. Her recommendations were stellar. I had a refreshing gin and basil martini as well as their beef carpaccio, which was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend started with their beef stew, which was thick and satisfying. It was so delicious, she almost canceled her entree to have more. She went with the home cooking route and indulged in their meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. Although she loved that as well, half had to come home with her, which made for an excellent lunch the next day. I went with the raw of it all and got their spectacular tuna tartare with asparagus, radish, and rice. Usually, the tuna is cut into strips but this tremendous block of gorgeous fish knocked me out. Absolutely fantastic from presentation to flavor. For dessert, we got their brownie with ice cream and this was all upper level in taste and texture. I would be shocked if their ice cream hadn't been made in-house. We loved our first experience with Apollo and we look forward to our next visit, which is hopefully sooner than later.

We thought it would be good, but we didn't expect that it would be outstanding. Their dinner menu was fairly small but had an amazing variety of dishes to suit many tastes. It was difficult to choose, but we settled on the veal and the pork rib rack chop. I knew it would be an outstanding meal when the salads that came with all entrees arrived. I usually grudgingly take a couple bites of a provided (typically uninspired) house salad, but this one was comprised of perfectly dressed greens that were the most tender, delicious, and freshest I've ever had in a restaurant, topped with crispy taro strips and a ring of tiny mung beans. If that level of care goes into a humble salad, I figured the mains would be awesome. They were. Both entrees had beautifully cooked proteins accompanied by generous portions of also beautifully cooked vegetables. The pork rib chop was especially impressive, tender and juicy and nicely paired with the apple mostarda, a sophisticated riff on a traditional pork chop with apple sauce. In addition to the vegetable sides noted on the menu descriptions, we each got haricot verts on the side. I typically eat green beans only because they're good for you, but these were so delicious that they were the only item I didn't take for leftovers. The dessert list was impressively long, and we went for their crème brûlée and a Bavarian with chantilly cream and cherries. The crème brûlée was delicate and smooth, with many specks of fresh vanilla bean and topped with incredibly fresh berries. The Bavarian was excellent as well, mousse-like in texture. Our service had the professionalism you would expect in a high end place. I thought it was an especially thoughtful touch that my box of leftovers was delivered at the end of the meal with the check, so it wasn't sitting on the table with us during dessert. The Savory Grille knows small touches make a difference. Of note, we were in the main dining room, which was a little snug, and the volume with a full house was a bit loud (from talking, not music). The other space looks a bit more spacious. No matter, we had an awesome dinner here that left us with fond memories, and I highly recommend the Savory Grille for a special occasion.
