    Fried Cheese Curds
    Thomas G.

Well as we're driving home past Allentown, our Yelp app suggested Union & Finch. It was a good recommendation as the food and service were wonderful. Initially we were concerned as no one was in the place. The restaurant was clean, service was hospitable and they had some hip blues playing. Come to find out, we were the early birds this day and when we left the place was bustling. For lunch we split the Union Burger w/ fries and had an appetizer of fried cheese curds topped with a honey balsamic and nuts. Freaking delicious and my first bite of that burger made me wish I hadn't split with the wife. They had a nice selection of beer and drinks although we didn't partake. I wish this place was in Maryland. Service was on point. Atmosphere was inviting and I'm sure there's a huge local following. They also have a giant parking lot.

Absolutely fabulous!!! The menu has such a wonderful assortment, including creative and unexpected mashups, and plenty of vegetarian options. Quality was on point and the prices were really reasonable. Staff was working hard, but still really friendly and efficient. Definitely a must try! Check out the cheese curds with honey, tarragon, and macadamia nuts for a crunchy and unique dish. They paired beautifully with the house made pickles.

Great spot for a bite to eat and perhaps a drink. Very cool atmosphere where you can sit at the bar area, or in the dining room and be classy. We had the fried green tomato BLT, Roadside burger, and a side of poutine. Everything was tasty and cooked very well. Service was pleasant and prompt. We'll be back! For the owner...it's Brussels sprouts, not Brussel sprouts.

The food was very fresh and the service was prompt. The couscous salad was refreshing and light. The burger with fries was ok and the drink was delicious. I recommend this restaurant in Allentown!

A Night to Remember at Union & Finch Last night, my friends and I stumbled upon a gem that deserves every bit of praise: Union & Finch. Nestled in a cozy corner of Allentown, this spot blends laid-back charm with culinary finesse in a way that makes you want to linger long after the plates are cleared. We were in town for a couple evenings during the DCI East Classic. The Food Let's talk about that steak frite--simple, elegant, and bursting with flavor. The steak was perfectly seared, tender enough to melt with each bite, and paired with a mountain of peppery arugula that added a fresh, zesty contrast. The fries? Golden, crispy, and addictive. And that green sauce in the little bowl? A mystery blend of herbs and magic that elevated everything it touched. It's the kind of dish that doesn't try too hard, because it doesn't need to. Drinks & Atmosphere Between sips of iced tea and lemon water, we soaked in the ambiance. The rustic wooden table and outdoor seating gave off backyard dinner party vibes--casual, warm, and effortlessly cool. You could hear laughter from nearby tables, see bowls of comfort food being passed around, and feel the buzz of a place that knows how to host a good time. The Company Union & Finch isn't just about the food--it's about the moments. Sharing bites, swapping stories, and watching the sun dip behind the rooftops while surrounded by good friends made the evening unforgettable. It's the kind of place that turns dinner into a memory. If you're looking for a spot that nails the balance between comfort and quality, Union & Finch is it. Come hungry, stay late, and let the good vibes do the rest.

    Hot fries appetizer

We had an early reservation prior to an in-town concert. The restaurant was packed. We sat by the bar (I never saw the main room). Our light bites food was delicious and the service attentive. Salad was tasty, fries were hot and fish tacos delicious. We didn't have the burgers but they were huge.

We stopped in for brunch at this adorable neighborhood spot and overall had a great experience, with a few hiccups. Parking was a little tricky, it's on a narrow residential street, so be prepared to circle a bit or walk a little. We arrived right before they opened and there was already a line forming, which we took as a good sign (and it was!). The restaurant itself is super cute inside--charming decor and a cozy vibe. That said, it gets really loud. The food was definitely a highlight! I had the Waffles Foster and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, buttery, and perfectly sweet. My brother got the steak and eggs, cooked medium rare. He said the first half was perfect, but the second half leaned more on the rare side. They don't have a formal kids' menu, but they were accommodating when we asked for pancakes and sausage for the little one. Service was okay--not bad, but not super attentive either. Our coffee took a while to arrive after being forgotten, and it was a bit of a wait for salt after we asked. Nothing that ruined the experience, just things to be aware of. Despite a few bumps, I'd definitely come back. Great food and a fun atmosphere--it's easy to see why this place draws a crowd!

    Shrimp and grits Benedict

First time customer. Most likely it was the busiest time to go. Sunday brunch around 1 PM. I can say that we were seated promptly and the service was excellent! The indoor bar/restaurant has great lighting and a very comfortable, inviting atmosphere. It got very crowded minutes after we were seated make it a challenging to hear conversation across the table. Our meals came out quickly and for the most part were very good. My shrimp and grits Benedict was tasty but served with burnt toast and a runny poached egg. The grits, shrimp and roasted potatoes though were delicious. And can't say enough about the wonderful service!

We walked in and even though it was busy we were taken to our reserved table immediately. The place is big with nice decor and ambiance, and the tables are spaced out enough that it keeps the area around you quiet enough to be able to hold a conversation comfortably with the people at your table. Our server was with us quickly and took our drink orders. All of the cocktails were delicious and several of us got a second round! We got the bao buns, chicken skewers, and birria poutine to start and they were all extremely delicious. The poutine tasted more like molé though so I personally wouldn't call it birria, and the cheese was a molten cheddar-like kind and not cheese curds. It was delicious though so no one complained! I got the curry and subbed tofu for shrimp. It was a little bland and I honestly wish there would've been a bit more of the curry itself (there was so much rice) and some more salt/seasoning, but it was fine. I'd give it a 7.5/10. My coworkers all enjoyed their own dishes (especially the rigatoni) and they kept raving about them throughout the whole meal. Our server was attentive and kept the table clean and our water bottles topped up. I definitely recommend checking it out! We're keeping it i. our list for next time we're in town :)

I was wrong. There were so many choices it was hard to decide. I had the French onion soup which was so delicious and had lots of melted cheese on top. The portion was large. It was a gourmet salad. The best part was the salmon was cooked to perfection. It's a hard fish to cook and not over cook. It was moist and tasty. Kudos to the chef. My Husband had the Cobb salad with chicken. He really liked it a lot and it was a good entree size. Nicolette was our server. She was great. Food came out timely and she was always checking on us. The clientel is mainly old folks like me, I'm now 70 - yikes! In observation mode, my wife and I were seated at a table and my visions of Ritz being a great place to eat quickly faded away as I looked at the food being served to others! Neverthe less we ordered dinner. My expectations had been shot down from the sky by the time the dinner arrived. This made the food easier to swallow, notwithstanding my dissapointment of the dining experience. The visions of yesteryear shined thru this retro looking place despite the lack of quality, well prepared food. At best Ritz is a low quality diner. I notice Ritz is rarely crowded when I pass by and Iwonder how they keep the doors open. Their ice cream is good, not great. It's consisteent with the average food served at Ritz. They offer a good variet of flavors to choose from. However, just a short drive from Ritz is, The Udder Bar. I stop at Ritz for ice cream because the line is always very long at Udder Bar, and I grow impatient at times. Even though I'm retired with nothing much to - go figure! I wish I had something more positive to write about food wise! Nothing real bad about the food at Ritz, but also nothing real good!
