Dr. Zhang is seeing me through my first pregnancy and after seeing all the negative reviews here I decided to leave a positive one.
The only negative thing I can say is on certain days the wait time is long... so you arrive at your appointment time and then you need to sit in the waiting room for an extended period of time. This isn't the case every time I come in, on their slow days I only spend about 15 minutes in the waiting room, but sometimes it goes up to an hour and then that can be a little frustrating. But come on, when was the last time you were seen immediately at your appointment time at any doctor's office?
Dr. Zhang is really nice and patient, he always asks if I have any questions. If you say no, he won't pry, so I try to memorize or write down the questions in between appointments if I have any, so that I don't forget them when he asks. When I do ask, he gives very good answers, doesn't rush through them, and then asks if I have any more questions instead of assuming that I don't have any more, like some doctors do before rushing out of the room lol.
Some people have commented in the reviews that he sometimes rushes out of the room. Well, not every prenatal appointment is the same. There are certain milestones throughout your pregnancy when the doctor does need to give you a thorough evaluation and take time, but this doesn't happen at every appointment, because it simply doesn't need to. (I can't speak for a high-risk pregnancy experience, and this office to my knowledge doesn't specialize in overseeing high-risk pregnancies). So at a certain point in your pregnancy, (after 20 wk I believe) you may come in and just hear the heartbeat, and not get an ultrasound, because you already had your anatomy scan and they know the baby is healthy and you're healthy. There's just no need for it. If you wish, you can always go to a third party company where they do ultrasounds and take extra pictures of the fetus, for your pleasure, not for medical reasons. So if the doctor walks out after 2 minutes with you, all that means is you and your baby are healthy and he doesn't need to stay longer :) be happy :)
The nurses are super nice and helpful, and very knowledgeable as well as pleasant. They're always happy to answer my questions or provide elaborations if I ask them to. You can always also call in in between your appointments if you have questions you feel like you need answered before your appointment, and the nurses will either give you a good answer or will ask the doctor and reach out to you at a later time (which they do. Yes, this office will call you back if they said they would call you back).
The office itself is very clean and comfortable. The receptionists are nice and helpful as well.
Edit: they're not money hungry. I have insurance and don't pay anything out of pocket (except for the rho gam shot), and I enjoy my experience here. read more
