Just went there to get a battery for my tractor. Brought my old one and supposedly they matched it. I specifically asked if it was charged and ready to go and was told yessir all set. Drove back home 40 minutes to almont. Put it in, would not start. No frigging acid in battery. Just called "customer service" after receptionist was pissy like I was bothering her. Not thrilled with the service department at all. They didn't fix my problem but charged me $110 to put a new carburetor on my tiller. I brought it in because it was hard to pull the pull cord. It started to be hard to pull the first time they worked on it a four years ago. I'll never go there for anything again. read more

I dropped off my 4/2019 Toro 2 stage snow thrower off because if would not start they call back said the pin in the crab was sticking and it need a tune up I said OK but it's was always hard to start "oh you have bad gas" I told NO I do not the tune up was $119.95 no big deal I asked what did they do because it was on the finally bill I went back to talk to the manger Tim Parish he said changed the oil and spark cleaned the pin you have a 90 day warranty Still I'd like to know what you did to this $1,000 snow thrower that I've use less then 6 times and I got from her along with the $2,000 club cadet rider in 15 months Tim " you have bad gas in there .. I stopped him as a Skilled trades men with over 42 years in I know how to take care of these things I just wanted to know what they did if you look at the bill it's says what might be needed in a tune up I will not be back I'll go to home depot .. Dropped off my mower to have fixed 13 days ago. No big fix, just replacing a worn cable. Notified them on the phone I was stopping in on a Saturday morning as I was meeting my father up there to not only pick up my push mower but I was going to purchase a new zero turn riding mower. The people on the phone could care less about checking to see if my mower would be ready but when I told them I wanted to pick it up that morning while making a large new person they seemed happy that it would piss me off and not to shop with them. Not to my better judgement I still went there on Saturday. My dad arrived there a half hour before me. When I arrived as we were looking at the riding mowers not one single employee said hi, can I help etc. my dad said in the half hour he was there he was never acknowledged. I said to hell with this crap box and we went down five miles to a competitor, gave them $7000 and we walked out happy. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any repair company. I dropped off my lawn mower last Monday on May 4th around 10am right when the opened. Filled out the paper work and was told someone would call me back with ETA and quote later that day. I never got any calls so I started calling them. The girls who answer the phone are rude and seem miserable and upset that they have to talk to anyone. No matter what you say they just transfer you to service. No one ever answers and it tells you to push 2 to leave a voicemail which doesn't work. So then I call them back and tell them option 2 doesn't work. She replies by saying yeah are phone systems aren't working correctly? (So then why transfer me to a non working system) anyways so she sends me to a direc tune to someone named Brad. I leave Brad a message. Brad calls me back and says it was just a loose cord and if I buy the annual maintenance package that will be covered as well as some other maintenance. I say great I approve when will it be ready. Brad tells me Thursday May 7th at the very latest. Thursday morning (the day my lawn mower is supposed to be ready) I get a voicemail from someone named Allen (which I have saved) basically giving me the same quote for annual maintenance to fix the loose cord that Brad already gave me earlier in the week. So I call back confused and of course the girls at the front refused to get Allan or Brad or any other human or confirm if my lawn mower is ready. And went back to the routine of being extremely rude and transferring me to the broken service line that tells you to push 2 to leave a message but then doesn't work. I have been trying since Thursday of last week to get someone to call me. I have left voicemail for Brad. Voicemail for Allen. Notes at the front desk and no one will call me back and tell me what the hell is going on. After I post this I will also be reporting you guys to the BBB. This is absolutely crazy and unacceptable behavior by you guys. I just moved to the area and was a first time customer and will never use you guys again. read more

Not satisfied with Weingartz last two times needing parts. Called for availability of McLain edger drive belt. Man couldn't find the model that they sell. Was on phone line for considerable time period. Ordered push button switch for my Toro lawn mower model 20384. Waited several days. No call from Weingartz. Finally called looking for my ordered switch. Switch was never ordered. I will go elsewhere for my parts. Surprised with Weingartz poor response. read more

Ordered a cable through Walmart - The seller was Weingartz Supply Co., Never received the cable, Contacted Walmart - They were nice & seemed to be helpful & contacted Weingartz Supply Co. and said they would contact me within 48hrs, Did not receive an email, Phone call, or anything, within 96 hrs., Contacted Walmart again & the contacted Weingartz Supply Co. again, Stiil no Reply. It's been years of the same complaints!!! No one wants to spend an hour in line for parts. As of today I'm done with you, you can say your short handed yet lots of sales folks just standing around could have helped shorten the line, ever heard of cross training?? But even then it doesn't explain the sheer incompetence or the I don't give a damn attitude of some of the folks working here. For the folks reading my review you can look up your parts on partstree.com then order them there as well or Amazon or jacks small engine.com or Revels power equipment or baker vehicles.com... but wait maybe you want to go local You could try Hellabucks, or bourliers and sons. You may have to drive a little farther or wait a few days for parts online but I find it's worth the wait..... For the record I repair equipment commercially, I call in part numbers and charge them to a account. I should be in and out.....but no! not in less than 45 minutes in the past year!! Bad neighbor. For a company that sells plows and snowblowers, they don't clean the sidewalks around their building. They even plow their parking area and block the sidewalk on Ruby. You have to walk out in the street to get around their huge snow pile. read more

I am starting up a lawn service and was interested in the Cub Cadet Series, so I go to Weingartz in Utica MI to buy my first set of equipment, but for the 45 minutes I was there looking at zero turn mowers not one employee in the entire establishment acknowledged me, so I left and still in need of equipment. I will drive out of my way to go to Weingartz because they're parts staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are similar to other stores. I have little or no issues getting the right parts, THE FIRST TIME. Other nearby stores have taken 2 or 3 attempts to get the correct parts, even with model and serial numbers. I see some of these negative reviews complaining about blades that need sharpening after a while and other issues with their own choice of power equipment. Weingartz is a retailer, and is not responsible for how quickly your blades wear out, or the design of lawn equipment. They should be judged on their service, selection and knowledge of products. read more

I took my mower blade in to be sharpened to start the season. A few minutes later I was walking by the service desk and Scott, the service tech, called me over and explained that my blade needed to be replaced. He showed me how worn the blade was and found the replacement blade. When he showed me the difference between the old and the new I was amazed at how worn my old blade was. Scott treated me with respect and professionalism and I will be sure to stop back when the need arises. read more

This store suffers from very poor and neglecting customer service. During the buying process back in may, the sales agent was not helpful - I was doing all the talking without no advice on what equipment to buy, he was so unhelpful and I ended up buying what I have researched, without no additional input whether this was a good choice (you wander why sales agent is needed in this store anyway if machine could just accept the payment as this guy did without any further help?) . Later on, we noticed that blades started to tear up our grass/no smooth cut. So, we had to manually remove them and deliver for sharpening (even though tractor was supposed to be new with new blades) - during sharpening process, another agent had very similar attitude: when asked why this happened since it was a new tractor, he just shrugged and gave same attitude of not caring. After blades where sharpened within a month of original purchase, they continued doing the same thing with our grass. We ended up wanting to return the tractor, but hey - it is over 30 days now and you are now stuck with it. Yes - there is 2 year warranty, but we just got so unhappy with the entire experience with tractor and this store that we just want to get rid off this tractor. When calling the store about return, another sales agent also showed same neglecting attitude - "there is nothing you can do, sell it on craiglist". Advice: try finding other lawn stores, where agents are willing to assist their customers. read more

While the service department is very customer service oriented and will work with you, do not rely on the integrity of the sales department or any advice that the sales department provides. They don't think solutions through nor do they listen to you. Returns are also never an option as the customer is always wrong. read more

Everything takes forever and is very expensive. I only come here when I absolutely must. Huge selection and most of staff seems knowledgeable. But it's annoying how long it takes to get help in person, get a service appointment or get transfered to proper person on phone. read more

Have a Toro lawn mower that would not stay running. Took it in for service at Weingartz of Utica. Charged me $90.00 and it still would not start. Said they "replaced the air filter". Took it back to get it repaired correctly and they want an additional $149. So this terrible company wants a total of $239 to repair a lawn mower that originally cost NEW: $299. The service department is mean and lack any form of customer service. If you want to buy something they are nice, but if it breaks down, you have to deal with a service department that does not know what SERVICE means. I refused to pay the $149 because they were supposed to call me with a price estimate. They said they call only if it is over $150 to repair. OK....$149 is not over $150. But come on Scott. I refused to pay that outrageous repair charge for a $300 mower. They kept my mower. This is how this company treats customers....OUR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. Stay away from this terrible retailer. I used to try to buy from small companies but Weingartz of Utica is a terrible business and the service department needs to drop the word "service". read more

This is my go-to place for lawn and snow equipment. The staff is very knowledgeable and I've even received advice or instruction over the phone on a couple occasions. I've found their prices to be usually identical to the big box stores and equipment was assembled while I waited. When I bought my snow blower, they took me through the steps for starting. That is wonderful for when they have customers who want to use their new item right away! If I'm getting great service and supporting a local business, why wouldn't I go there? read more

I would advise caution to all elderly customers to this location. 2 months ago my 62 year old mother had her lawn tractor picked up for a routine maintenance. 1 month after drop off they called her with a litany of repairs that were not needed. $527 worth of unnecessary repairs. She tried calling several times to get answers with no avail. Another month went by until I was fully aware of what they were trying to charge her. I called them up and told them I was coming to get it. When they brought me the riding mower out the throttle lever was broken. I watched them trailer that mower when they took it from my moms house and the throttle lever was not broken. To top it off that was one of the items they were trying to charge her for. SOMETHING THEY BROKE!! Please use extreme caution with the service department. This is a predatory company who will try to take advantage of anyone they assume is ignorant with small engine equipment. Think about it..... they didn't get those nice buildings by doing routine maintenance on small engines. They will try to rip you off! read more

I have a Toro snowblower that I have had for one year and it would not start (has a 2 year GTS warranty) - they blamed me for using gas with too much ethanol causing fuel to the cylinder and the piston to lock up. I had to pay for the repair and the bill states that engine was overfilled with oil. This was not true and the stuck float allowed the fuel to mix. I find this place unethical. Note that I have been dealing with them since 1986. read more

I bought a snowblower here online last weekend. Their online site said it was the last one in stock. I received a confirmation that my order was filled and would be available for pick up at the Utica location (no promise date) right after my credit card was charged on Saturday night. On Monday morning, I received an email indicating it would be available for pick up on Thursday. On Tuesday morning, I got a call stating that no snowblowers were available and that their system didn't really capture inventory (so why have an online system to accept orders???). I was transferred to "sales" and was told that there was a more expensive blower available. After a few additional emails and calls, I asked if I could get the more expensive blower for the lower price since it was their mistake and didn't have the electric start I wanted. I was told that was not possible. I ended up canceling my order and I don't think I particularly enjoyed the bait and switch or bad online ordering system. I subsequently got another call that they couldn't find a snowblower anywhere that I had ordered and that a more expensive one was available again. I don't think I will shop here again. Excellent interaction at the service and parts desk. Needed parts for my snowblower and the guy behind the counter was super friendly and more then willing to find the parts I needed as well as go over a short explanation with me on installing the parts. Salesman went above and beyond what I expected and to top it off printed out a parts diagram for me. Saved me a bunch of money being I didn't have to drop it off to them to work on, at $88 n hour labor I'll do it myself. read more

It seems like the operation at this location is unorganized. I paid for pick up and delivery in March for Spring Tune Up Oil change once over and a new tire replaced. Weeks later they delivered the Riding Lawmower when my Daughter was the only home. When I got home I realized they delivered a much older tractor that clearly was not mine. I called and a couple days later they returned my tractor and picked up the wrong one they delivered. Later that day I noticed the tire was never replaced and the tractor would not start. I needed a new battery and switched it out. Why wouldn't that be checked on Spring Tune Up? Why wouldn't the tire be replaced? I called and they picked up the next day, this time without charge for delivery of our request. They stated that because of the issues we had they would make this a priority. Over a week later I still don't have my tractor and my lawn is out of control. Last time I will ever do business with them. They don't seem to care if the customer is inconvenienced. I own a small landscaping company and have been dealing with many different sales representatives over the last 30 years. I purchased a mini loader from him, and from the before purchase demonstrations to post purchase service and support I could not be happier. He took the time and made the extra effort to insure that our machine was right for our needs and kept it working out in the field when we did have an issue, with excellent service and communication. Took my cub cadet rider in for an oil change. They call me 7 days later tell me I need new blades new belt new bearings for the blades new idle deck and a few more things. Asked how much they say $1250.00. Wow all I wanted was an oil change. I said no thanks and they still charged me $140 to look at it !! Took it to a local mechanic and he checked it out. He said and I seen with my eyes everything was almost like new. What a scam they tried to pull. That's just the beginning. Now I'm looking for a new Machine. I see a cub cadet zero turn for 5k. I asked the sales men if it was a commercial unit he said yes 3 different times. I said let me think about it. Now I'm looking at the pics I took of the unit later that day and the spec sheet clearly said ( made for residential use ) wow. Scam times 2. Never again will I shop at weingarts. I took my Toro lawnmower (that I purchased from this Weingartz location) for repair on the engine. This should have been a warranty issue but the service guy said the ticket said "low oil". Due to Weingartz writing this Toro did not warranty the engine. I was not looking to be dishonest but I do not feel the oil was the issue. 1) They say it was low - not gone or dry. 2) What proof do I have as they did not check it in front of me and when I asked to see it they said it was already drained. It was full at the beginning of the season. Cutting the lawn 7 or 8 times should not use up the oil. Weingartz nicely offered to install a new engine for over $300. I've purchased lawn mowers, a snow blower, Edger and leaf blower from this location. I previously had a few other small issues with them and now take my business elsewhere. They are very good at taking your money but don't expect service. read more
