I bought Weis Brand Filet Mignon, Angus Beef, at $24.99 a pound. It was in a cryovac package so you only saw the top of the steak. On opening it the bottom had thick gristle running through it. I cooked it and only got to eat the good portion, about half of the steak. It is a shame the place that prepares their meats do this. This was the Old Camp Store in Frederick, Md. For the love of all things decent, shopping at this store can be an absolute rage-inducing experience that will leave you and your wallet in a terrible state. The prices are VERY BAD at this store, and their selection is mediocre. A lot of items are "on sale" but only if you buy like 2, or 3, or 4 or 5 of those items, which is crazy. Who is buying 5 boxes of generic vanilla Oreos? BLECH. Nobody needs to be pressured by a so-called "sale" to stock up on junk food that is so bad for you. Instead, why not put the sweets and cookies on sale so you only have to buy 1 box, not 10 boxes? Some of us don't want to go into a sugar coma, nor do most of us have nuclear fallout shelters so we don't need to stockpile cookies for the end of the world... Also, their donuts are ok, I guess? but I don't want to eat them any time soon. Do not go to this store with a full grocery list. Only go to this Weis because you HAVE to, like you suddenly ran out of a very basic item like milk or eggs. This store is basically a Kwik-E-Mart but with less convenient hours. This location is very convenient for me. This is the only reason I'm giving it two stars. They increase prices when something is buy one get one free. Not matter when I shop here the entire stores smells like fried chicken. The employees are always visiting with each other. When I had a question today they blew us off for the more important personal conversation while checking out. They really need some lessons in customer service. This last visit is encouraging me to stop shopping there and suck it up to go to the store that is further from my home. read more

An excellent improvement for the Brunswick area...long needed...I notice most of the bad reviews are by youthful idiots (probably voted for BIDEN)...this store is a well-needed improvement for the area...friendly staff and usually well stocked shelves with an excellent variety of products...will steam ocean caught shrimp without additional charge...reasonable selection of organic products... read more

I have shopped at this store about 6 or 7 times since they opened - out of sheer desperation. Employees make it very clear they do not want to be working there and treat customers as an inconvenience. Nearly every time I have shopped at this store, I was overcharged for at least one item. They force you to drive back to the store in order to get reimbursed for the pricing error. I have NEVER had a customer service staff member apologize for the cashier's mistakes. Just about any other brand of grocery store has better variety of products, more selection, and less expensive prices. Their prices are MUCH higher than what would be considered reasonable for this area. The food court is a joke. It doesn't have signage. Customers have no way of knowing where to order, what items are available, how much they cost, or where to pick up. I decided a while back that I would rather drive a few more miles and shop at a competitor store where I can buy all the groceries I need, receive excellent service, and pay much, much less. I avoid Brunswick Weis whenever possible!!! read more

The staff always wants to help and the selections work for last-minute shopping trips. Angel was especially nice.

Of the area Wies, this is by far the worst one. The fresh produce recently was cut in half. The organic section is pretty much next to nothing and the vegan section is 3 shelves about 4 feet wide. It is terrible! Have seen employees texting on their cells when waiting for a price check. I get there is nothing they can do, but when their is a line and new customers come to check out, it looks bad. I also got screwed at thanksgiving for their special. To make up for them running out of ham, they took two chunks and combine them. Not only did I miss out on 2/3 of the ham I should have revived free, when I got home I saw the one had expired 5 days prior. The manager was a real a.hole also. read more

Okay, you gotta give it up for Weis at Festival of Frederick. I worked here in high school, bagging groceries, clerking, stocking, whatever. The hoods gone a little ghetto as of late - I think that there may have been some criminal activity in the parking lot. Certainly it can feel a little shady at times - so be on guard! But you still gotta love Weis, just maybe go to another location! read more

I recently made a quick shopping trip, on my lunch hour. At the self check out, I requested $50.00 cash back, being in a hurry, I forgot to grab my cash and receipt. The next morning I called the store and I cannot tell you how surprised I was to learn that my receipt and money was turned in. Michelle an employee, had found it. I went it today to buy me an already made lunch. I went to the Deli and one of the employees was putting out several things. I ended up getting a turkey sandwich and am literally in the middle of eating my sandwich right now. I must say Oh my goodness!!! Literally the freshest most delicious sandwich I have EVER purchased at a grocery store. It also comes with a small macaroni salad which is a PLUS! And all for just $5!!! I am a college student full time and work full time and my my every time i go on to this Weis to get quick meals I love them! I dont know if it is the ingredients or the care and love they put in to their food but its GREAT! Good job ladies and gentlemen! You have to be kidding. This grocery is poorly stocked (rather, stocked for consumers of lower socioeconomic strata), ill lit, a little dirty. No reason to visit if not for getting a taste of American Splendor. read more

My review is for the bakery in weis markets. I used to order birthday cakes all the time for special ones in my life. But the last cake I ordered, keep in mind I ordered it a week in advance, I went to pick up my cake on the morning of my boyfriends birthday and they say we have no record of your cake and we do not have a cake for you. I was so pissed. The cake I wanted was specialized just for my boyfriend plus I was excited to see it for myself. So I ended up with a ice cream cake free of charge. Very very displeased. I run in because I am I that plaza weekly and the liqour store next store has amazing selection and best prices we have found. The area is sketchy. All the police activity and issues closer to the CVS and gas station does not have me comfortable to allow my teens to walk from classes in the plaza top the store. Ever. read more

They are always so nice and helpful in this store. They might not have the biggest selection, but the prices are fantastic and the friendly service is always a pleasure. The pharmacy jumps through hoops to help too! I love Wegmans (so not lower socioeconomic status) but Weis is much faster to get around in. read more

Do not go here! First of all, anytime you go there it looks like someone robbed it the night before. Always out of stock of everything, messy, and it smells. The employees are absolute imbeciles. Unfortunately it's the closest grocery store to me. I opted to take a ziplock bag of change I'd been saving for a while to cash it in. Unfortunately the machine got jammed. Their manager hector (I think he's a manager?) came over to "help". He insisted nothing was wrong with the machine however it ate my entire bag of change but stopped counting at like 60 cents. He attempted calling coin star customer service, in which he was disconnected on twice. I've been here like 30-45 minutes at this point. He told me he didn't think there was a way to get it out and I probably shouldn't try coinstar again. I took all of the necessary info and left to call them myself. They were helpful and said they'd send a tech out and then get a receipt for all of my coins that were stuck and have someone call me to follow up on Tuesday. (2 days later) I figured with Halloween being Monday it was busy, etc. so I gave it until Friday and called coinstar for a follow up. Not to my surprise, the Coinstar tech gave my voucher to someone at Weiss and they lost it. She said Weiss would be paid regardless so if she needed to have them pay me out since they lost it then so be it. She called them to let them know I was coming and they magically found it. Unbelievable. So I go to pick up my cash voucher of all of the coins that got jammed and what do you know, $20 even. Are you kidding me? What are the chances I fill up an ENTIRE ziplock bag of change and it's 20 even. I know that's bullshit. I've cashed in an entire bag before and it was over $50. They are thieves. read more

I'd been going to the CVS pharmacy for years to fill my prescription. I have nothing against CVS, they're a nice store, but their pharmacy was always backed up, and the medicine I receive is difficult to get in. I work in customer service, so I understand if someone is having a bad day/long hours on their feet/doesn't feel like smiling at everyone that walks up to their counter in pain, but it's a WORLD of difference between them and Weiss.
