I arrived about 45 minutes before closing, and the young lady managing the store was super friendly and helpful. I explained that I wasn't sure what time they closed because the information on Yelp and Google did not match. She said she would update the operating hours to match. There's a lot of sugar inside, and the sweet aroma smacks you in the face the moment you open the door. I walked around the store, asked a bunch a questions, and then made my way to the gelato. The young lady explained that the gelato is made by a man from California, and it is brought in fresh. There are a lot of flavors to choose from, and they all look amazing. While I was trying to choose, I was offered many samples, which did help me decide on my choice. I got some gelato for myself and some for my wife, who was patiently waiting at home. While it didn't live up to gelato stand by the Trevi fountain or near St. Marks Basilica in Venice, it was damn good. If you're craving sweets, make sure to check Cravin's Candy Emporium.

The chocolates are definitely the highlight: they taste premium, are beautifully made, and feel high quality. They're slightly on the expensive side, but worth it if you want really good chocolate. About half of the store appears to be their in-house chocolates and truffles, while the other half consists of gummies, taffy, and other candies that are sourced from elsewhere. I did ask before buying, so I knew -- but unless you ask, it's not very clear what's made in-house and what isn't. A bit more transparency would be helpful. The gummies I tried were excellent (and I even got a great $1 bundle deal). The taffy, sourced from Salt Lake City, had good flavor but was firmer and more rubbery than the soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture I prefer. I didn't feel pushed to buy anything, or rushed to see the store or checkout. I kept going around and around and gathering items and dropping them back off to the checkout counter. A very chill employee helped me roughly the first hour I was there, and then Beverly, the shop owner assisted me the remaining 1 hour I spent there. This store exceeded my expectations tenfold. I would turn a corner and there would be more exotic things. The refrigerated alcohol section had this delicious meade or ale. Viking something, perhaps... An eclectic variety of specialty items all around! A unique store with tools and gadgets imported from other countries. You name it, kitchen-wise, and it's likely there! I think I saw a Shakshukka seasoning blend and thought that was wild! That's my signature dish and I've seen the sauce in a jar but not the jar of spices! Just a lovely feel to the store. Positive vibes for sure! At the end of my experience, I told Bella I wish I could ave found an Oregon related patch, perhaps even Baker City, so that I could iron on to a denim jacket I was working on at home! And she said she had one somewhere but couldn't find it. And asked me to leave behind my contact info in case she ever did. Well, 6 months later she contacted me and I was overjoyed to hear from her. A 4 oz bag is just the right size to be shared by two and at only $5.00 it is a great buy for top quality. Beer caramels covered in chocolate are next on our list if they aren't sold out before we can get to them.
