I visited Cravin's about a month before my trip to Rome to try their gelato. The visit and the…read moregelato did not disappoint. I arrived about 45 minutes before closing, and the young lady managing the store was super friendly and helpful. I explained that I wasn't sure what time they closed because the information on Yelp and Google did not match. She said she would update the operating hours to match. There's a lot of sugar inside, and the sweet aroma smacks you in the face the moment you open the door. I walked around the store, asked a bunch a questions, and then made my way to the gelato. The young lady explained that the gelato is made by a man from California, and it is brought in fresh. There are a lot of flavors to choose from, and they all look amazing. While I was trying to choose, I was offered many samples, which did help me decide on my choice. I got some gelato for myself and some for my wife, who was patiently waiting at home. While it didn't live up to gelato stand by the Trevi fountain or near St. Marks Basilica in Venice, it was damn good. If you're craving sweets, make sure to check Cravin's Candy Emporium.

The kids picked out marshmallow pops which were so cute, decorated for Halloween! I picked out a bag of huckleberry chocolates for the hubby! And for myself, truffles! These are the BEST! We split a pumpkin, dirty banana, and a peppermint one. Omgsh so delicious! We also grabbed some chocolate pretzel sticks too. These were also so yummy! I appreciate how affordable literally everything in the shop was. This makes it easier to come back and reward the kids more often. Lady at the front was super friendly and great with the kids. We enjoyed talking with her. The shop is so adorable and decorated. She organizes all her goods in a way that's easy to browse all options without visually overwhelming you. I used to go to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory when it was out at the outlet mall. Now there's a new owner and new store front in Meridian which is so much closer to me. My friend swears by their Dubai chocolate bars here. I finally got to try out the Dubai chocolate and I see the hype in them, they are so good! I made my way in to see what kind of goodies they had. I like that you're not committed to a pound here so I'll be able to get a variety of treats. Walking in, you are smacked in the face with this amazing smell from the caramel they were using to dip the apples in. You are visually sent into overdrive with all the chocolates, Valentines decor and dipped apples perfectly displayed all over. I didn't even know where to begin! I wanted to look at everything, God forbid I miss out on something good. I would literally get one of everything if I could. The truffles, fudge, dipped twinkies, apples covered in caramel and chocolate, smores, it was all calling my name. Trying to narrow my selection down was going to be a difficult decision. But I ended up going with a milk chocolate sea salt caramel, a milk chocolate caramel, a milk chocolate truffle and one more piece that I can't remember. I also snagged a little bag of peanut butter melts for my husband. The gal that helped me out today was kind and patient with me. I was looking over the display case and wanted to make sure that I got anything that called out to me. It was neat seeing the dipping of the apples, it's an art for sure. The store is very cute, perfectly laid out and welcoming. I'm looking forward to eating my goodies later. I will have to make my way back soon. There's more treats that need to be tried out.
