Great service just now! Our gas tank door would not open and we only had a 1/4 tank of gas. We…read moredrove straight to Sloan Toyota where we get our car serviced thinking we might have to leave the car there and Uber home. However, Matt, to our delight, told us what otc part to buy there and installed it free of charge. Service couldn't be better!

On August 13th 2026, I received a call from my daughter, that her 2021 Rav4 would not start. I told…read moreher she needed to call her local Toyota dealer because the vehicle was still under warranty and that she also had roadside assistance, which meant she had free towing. As a father and me being over an hour away, I told her if she wanted, we can do a three-way call with the Toyota dealer. This way I knew she wasn't stranded and this was handled. So we then called Sloan Toyota. We explained to a lady named Jamie, who worked in the call center our situation. She then said, she would transfer me to a service advisor so they could confirm the vehicle is still under warranty, and to be sure we still had roadside assistance. We then spoke to a service advisor from Sloan Toyota. We again explained to him our situation and that the vehicle would not start. He proceeded to ask us the phone number and address for confirmation of the warranty. He told us the vehicle was in fact under warranty, but said we did not have roadside assistance. According to him, this meant we would have to tow the vehicle at our expense. I knew that wasn't correct. So when I questioned him as to how can the vehicle still be under warranty and not have roadside assistance. The gentleman got very indignant and extremely annoyed with the conversation. At that point, he told me, I had a platinum warranty and still may be responsible for a diagnostic charge of $215 an hour, depending on what they find. At this point I was beyond frustrated. As I feel like he was now just adding on and trying to upsell because of me questioning him. I told him, I also work as a service advisor at a shop and I didn't appreciate his attitude. His exact words to me were; "Then you should know better " When I continued to question him further and ask him his name, all he did was speak over me and would not let me get a word in. He then told me to get the vehicle towed back to Runnemede Toyota, the dealership I bought it from, because I obviously don't want to listen to understand and he will no longer entertain me and or this conversation. And proceeded by hanging up on me. I then called for a tow truck because Toyota was obviously not helping me, and I wasn't going to leave my daughter stranded. Once I knew the vehicle was picked up, and my daughter was safe, I then decided to call Toyota roadside assistance direct myself. They in fact confirmed that I did have roadside assistance. And there would be no charge to get the vehicle towed. At this point my tow company had already picked up the vehicle, costing me 485.00 because I had the vehicle towed back to NJ. Reason being, the service advisor from Sloan Toyota specifically told me to have it towed back to the dealership we purchased it from. And why would I take it to Sloan Toyota after this experience anyway. Moving forward the Service advisor obviously knew we were on a three way call with my daughter. But unfortunately for him, he didn't realize I was calling from a recorded line. Me being from New Jersey, it's a one party consent. Meaning I'm not required to notify that the line is being recorded. I can't help to think, that if he knew that he was on a recorded line, this would have been handled completely different. Which should not be the case and is unacceptable at any level. It's not only disgusting and dishonest but completely unprofessional to say the least. As I am currently a service advisor for an auto-repair shop, I would never speak to anybody the way I was spoken to. And or tell them to take the vehicle back to where you bought it from. If this one service advisor is a reflection of the rest of the staff they employ, I would not recommend Sloan Toyota for anything at all. Definitely not for service anyway. The intent of this review should be obvious, but I would also like and deserve a call from the service advisor with an explanation and an apology. I also feel I deserve to be reimbursed the 485.00 for the tow. I mean, I only did what Sloan Toyotas service advisor told me to do.
