Asked them to scan my 2012 Tacoma because my tire pressure sensor was on! They told me all of them were bad and I needed to replace all the sensor for $500.00 bucks! Declined service and got a second opinion from a local garage to find out I only had one bad sensor? Big difference ! Ummm maybe their scanner doesn't work? But most likely not !! Had a bizarre experience here. Came in to get my vehicle state inspection, and the price was much higher than I anticipated. Before I went to pay, I noticed a framed sign on the wall showing that inspection costs were around $40 (they were charging me $90!). I asked the lady at the desk about the price difference and she grabbed the framed photo from the wall and tossed it behind her. It literally read like a sitcom skit. Grabbed it off the wall and threw it behind her, giving it a bit of a spiral as well. After some research I found that $90 is the going price for around here, so I'm not too upset about the costs. Still feeling really weird about the whole encounter though. They also tried to up charge me on a ton of services. They told me certain fluids were low that I knew were not. And they told me about items that are not checked in a state inspection. They did get it done in a day as a walk in, though, and I'm grateful for that. read more

Very, very unhappy with Tires Plus. Popped my tire about a month ago and this was the closest shop. I had read some mediocre reviews online but it was basically my only option. When I got there, no one was at the front desk to help me for almost 20 minutes. They said they could change my tire that day, but after literally 3 hours waiting in their lobby, the shop was about to close and they informed me they didn't have the right tires for my car anyway and would need to order them. Apparently their system said my tires were in stock and they were not. Extremely frustrating after waiting for so long and had to drive home on my spare. Flash forward to the next day--I brought my car back and they fixed my tire relatively quickly and took $50 off the total for the inconvenience the day before, which was appreciated, but the whole experience was pretty sour overall. The technician threw my spare and tools in the trunk without properly placing them back in their compartments. After leaving the shop, I noticed my TPMS light was on and it didn't turn off after several miles. My boyfriend (who works in the automotive industry) used a code reader to try to figure out what was going on with it, but was unable to turn off the sensor light. The light continued to stay on for another month until, with my luck, I popped my tire AGAIN and the closest option to get it fixed was once again this Tires Plus. When I arrived, they were able to replace my tire much quicker, but they told me my TPMS sensor was broken and they quoted me ~$180 to fix it. I left and took my car to Goodyear instead 2 days later. Not only did they quote me $100 LESS than Tires Plus did to replace the sensor, they told me that it wasn't actually broken -- the sensor wasn't even there. It had been replaced by a regular valve. Funny because my TPMS sensor had no issues until my service at Tires Plus....It seems as though it may have been broken by a technician during my initial service with Tires Plus and someone tried to pretend it didn't happen so they wouldn't have to fix it. Gross behavior, really. Tl;Dr -- Tires Plus is untrustworthy and a scam. Go anywhere else if you can!!! read more

Never ever ever go to Tires Plus in Flourtown. They lie. I needed a tire replaced today. They said they had the tire in stock (I specifically called ahead to make sure); kept my car from 10am till 3:40 (so I couldn't take it anywhere else); then they called and said, "gosh, we don't have the tire in stock - but we could do it Tuesday." So we'll be out about $80 in Uber fees tonight, and we'll be taking the car to Pep Boys tomorrow. If they had been honest, or checked, I could have gone somewhere else today. If you DO for some reason choose this location, all I can say is INSIST they PULL the tire from stock for you BEFORE you go. And the parking lot is a complete cluster. Unless you're ok with backing out of very tight places with cars on either side. No. Just no. There are other options read more

My TPMS indicated a tire was nearly flat and another was also lower than normal. I tried filling the one with the bulge at the bottom but it was not taking air. It was freezing out, I was tired, late for work and I couldn't get the old tire off to put on the doughnut, so I took it to this flourtown location hoping to get it patched or plugged. After waiting an hour or so, which was fine since I didn't have an appointment, I was told the tire couldn't be fixed. Also fine, I know sometimes tires are beyond a patch or plug. But then they said I had to replace all of my tires because the AWD system required all the tires to have a similar tread depth...something to that effect. It was around $1000 for the new tires. I asked for them to replace only the one that was flat, but he said it was company policy to replace all tires for tread similarity, again, not the exact phrasing I was given. I didn't actually see the punctured tire myself and I didn't want to get all new tires because the car is relatively new, so I had them put on the spare and give me the flat so I could be on my way and figure out what to do. I was supposed to be at work by that point and didn't really have time to replace all the tires. Cut to 3 days later, I take it to another repair place where I said I had a spare on but could they possibly patch/plug the old tire. I didn't mention I went somewhere else. I also needed an oil change and required routine maintenance. I just got a call that my vehicle was ready, including the patched tire that Tires Plus told me was beyond repair. I said to the mechanic, you sure the tire is ok? I don't need 4 new tires, he laughed. "Absolutely not" he said to me. Now, everyone here was perfectly nice and respectful. I honestly didn't think they were trying to take advantage of me. I would just urge people to get a second opinion if possible. I don't know if the mechanics at Tires Plus have different training or company protocols than the other place. Maybe they want to err on the side of caution rather than try to fix a tire that might need replacing in a month. I guess we'll find out down the road. If that does happen, I'll take this down. But in the meantime, I thought it might be helpful to possibly save someone else $900 (I still had a small bill from the new repair shop). read more

Work order 153017 Tire Rack purchase mount-and-balance, plus PA state inspection and front brakes needed to pass inspection. First I should say this is my third set of tires installed at this location, but it's been a few years since my last experience. All went smoothly before. This time, a wheel came out of balance within a couple of days, shaking badly at highway speeds. I returned and had it fixed, then it happened again a week or so later. A third trip to the shop, another hour spent in the waiting room trying to get my day job done over customer wifi that doesn't really work. About 2 months after that, my front brakes started popping every time I touch the pedal (they also did rotors and pads and a PA state inspection during the first visit) and my TPMS light keeps coming on even though my tires are at manufacturer-recommended pressure. There's also still a slight imbalance in one of the wheels at highway speeds. I haven't taken the car back there because, frankly, I'm assuming after three tries that they're just incapable of doing it right. I think I may have to pay somebody competent to fix these issues, which is pretty frustrating given the time and money I've already spent at this shop. read more

Unfriendly customer service. When we purchased tires and changed our tires to snow tires through Tires Plus at the beginning of last winter, they committed to giving a discounted price when the snow tires would be replaced with the regular tires in the spring. They did not follow through on this commitment. Cost quoted at $149. We contacted another vendor, and the cost was $28. Needless to say, we went with the other vendor. Had we stayed with Tires Plus, what a rip-off that would have been. They also charged $15 for changing a light bulb on our first visit with them. And not very clear or friendly over the phone. I used to come here all the time and it was always a pleasant experience. No longer the case. I was greeted with a very angry response unlike anything I've ever experienced as a customer - it was downright racist by someone of color. A customer of color walked in after me, she was treated with smiles and respect, I was not. The workers had no smiles, looked angry and defeated - looked like they absolutely hated being there. Unethical and complete BS recommendations. I have a newer AWD SUV. I had a flat and brought my car to them to replace. They didn't have my exact tire do my option was to wait a day for the exact tire or get 2 new tires replaced that day. I opted to wait the day. The following day I received a call that all 4 tires needed to be replaced because of my car being AWD. I thought they were pulling one over on me and had my husband call. They refused to only replace the one tire. We then picked up the car and took to the VW dealership to be assessed. Only needed one tire and it was cheaper through the dealership. I am FULL of goodwill right now! My car's windshield fluid was bone dry, and decided to look for a place to get some while I happened to be up in Flourtown running some errands. I know that Tires Plus specializes in tires, but I saw that their sign also says "Total Car Care," so I thought I'd take a chance. I walked inside and looked around for windshield fluid, but didn't see any. I spoke with a young man named Matt who works there, and he told me that they don't sell windshield fluid but that he could just give me some. He had me pull my car around front, and then he came out with a bottle of fluid. Although my car is a subcompact, it has a huge windshield fluid reservoir for some strange reason. He emptied the whole bottle, then went back to the garage and got a 2nd bottle AND emptied most of that before it was finally full! When he got done, I asked him how much I owed him, and he said it was FREE!!! I was amazed. I can't say enough good things about Matt and Tires Plus! Highly HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Wish I could give zero stars. The manager is truly awful. 6 months ago I brought used oil in to recycle and a friendly technician greeted me and took it without a problem. I brought more in last week and I asked the manager if they recycle oil and he says: "No, not really." Not really? "Maybe only small amounts." I told him I have less than 5 quarts in my container and he said "That's too much." Then he went on a sob story about how we was the only one there (there were three or four other employees working) and if I wanted to wait around for 25 minutes for him to get to it, then maybe he could. After all, he was very busy with answering the phones and filling out paperwork (according to him). This is the third time we've had an awful experience with this clown. I won't even go into the details of how this same guy tried to rip off my wife because she went in alone and seemed like easy prey. My suggestion- go across the street to a 5-star service center that treats people like family. read more

Spent hundreds of dollars to have spark plugs replaced six months ago, the issue was not fixed and we were told to come back when it got worse and the check engine light comes on. Now we're having a cylinder fixed, which has to do with the first issue that they didn't fix! This store will poorly "fix" your vehicle in order to suck hundreds of more dollars out of you just a few months later. NOT what I expect in a large chain. Will not be returning. read more

Needed two rear tires. They kept car over night. When I picked it up my dash board said tires were low of air. I had asked them to check all four tires for air. I came right back and they put air in my tires. That seems like a major goof to me, air in your new tires. Plus coming back I would of have thought they would be embarrassed but they acted like they were pleased to do me a favor. read more

Tires Plus in Flourtown is where I take my vehicles for routine maintenance. The staff is friendly and helpful, however most importantly they're honest with you about what needs to be done to your car. The standard pricing on most of their routine service is comparable to what you'd pay at other chain garages (Pepboys, Jiffy Lube, etc) but they have coupons in the mail constantly giving pretty good deals on oil & fluid changes, etc. If you don't have a coupon stop into the Genuardi's Plaza almost across Bethlehem Pike first. There's a little USPS office and PO Box holders tend to leave piles of the ads, with their Tires Plus coupon sheets laying on the sorting table. That 30 seconds can save you 15 bucks quick read more

We've been going to Tires Plus in Berwyn and Flourtown for quite a few years now. They do good work and we've always been satisfied. That said auto repair is not cheap and we have spent plenty. These guys are great! I hit a bad pot hole (not really a surprise in the gauntlet we call Philly) it causes a bubble in my tire. They replaced the tire and it was quick service. A couple days later the tire pressure light came on and I immediately went in. They adjusted the tire pressure, showed me where I could find the tire info on my car, and then showed me how to reset the tire pressure indicator. Super nice guys! read more

We use the Flourtown location and they always provide prompt and excellent service. They will put OEM brake parts parts on your Range Rover, when the dealer appointment is 2 weeks out. Perform an the oil / filter service with OEM parts on your Porsche Cayenne. Install brakes, tires, on your Hyundai, change your snow tires. Pretty much anything you ask of them, and always polite and efficient for over 10 years. Far above any other local shop I know! read more

Outstanding customer service! They not only do a great job, but stand behind everything they do. I was told that I needed rear breaks and drum. However, when they checked my records, they discovered that I had rear breaks done in less the 12K miles. Brakes were no charge, just had to pay for the drums - they saved me over $200! Way to go! I've been to this location before to do basic work such as new tires, but this occasion was horrible. I had a broken strut mount which I diagnosed since I had personally repaired this issue on the opposite side of the car previously I knew the symptoms. Due to this there shouldn't have been any issue with understanding what was necessary when it was dropped off. I dropped the vehicle off at 7:49am on a Monday and it wasn't done until almost 5pm on Wednesday. It took 3 full days to complete the repairs and I received poor information regarding the status of my repairs causing me to have to arrange for taxis to get to meetings because my car wasn't complete when I was originally told. Throughout, I had to be the one to call to get status each time AND they didn't even call me to tell me when it was finally completed. The night desk person was less than helpful and when I reminded him I was offered a discount due to all the issues, he referenced a 10 PERCENT discount, but then gave me a TEN DOLLAR discount instead (on a $930 bill). When I pushed back be acted dumbfounded. To add insult to injury when I got to my car the paper floor mat to keep the car clean was left torn to shreds on the drivers side floor. Why should I go back when there are other independent shops up the street?! read more

My car got a flat tire on a sunday. I googled for an auto repair shop that's nearby & this was one on the list. It was not my first choice but i had to consider them again because pep boys would only replace my tire, eventhough it's only 6 months old. Luckily, tires plus does patch work. Without any appointments, they still entertained me. I dropped off my tire around 11am & i was told they would call back as soon as it's done. At 2pm they called back & that i can pick up the tire. They even installed it back on my car when i got there! & the best part, i only paid $21! The staff were courteous & polite which was a plus. Funny to be writing a great review of a chain tire place - but these guys have been extremely helpful over the years. Just recently - I had a tire rim that needed to be changed out. It was a simple/cheap job - I was bringing the rim myself. (a used one I found online) They fit me in at the end of a day...a job that was probably annoying and not very profitable. It was like $30 bucks, done quickly and they couldn't have been nicer. While I was in the waiting room - I watched the man at the counter be EXTREMELY kind to an older man who was maybe a little confused. **BEWARE** this place straight up lied to me about failing inspection. Said it would be $1400 for repairs. When I told them I'd be taking it elsewhere for the repairs, it mysteriously passed inspection and tags were placed on the car when I picked it up. This was for no other reason than the loser employees trying to pull one over on a girl. I went down the street to one of the many mom and pop garages and they looked it over and everything was in order. We took the car to another shop for a second opinion and found out that most of the work did not need to be done to pass inspection, and some didn't need doing at all. First off, I think it's ridiculous you need an appointment for an oil change, esp when you have 2 competitors across the street. Lucky for them one is Jiffy Lube, which I avoid. They claim to have you in/out in 30 min, but having to get an appt is odd. Their lights often look as though they are closed after sundown. They have 6 car bays and there was maybe 1 car being worked on when I told them I needed an oil change. I purchased a tire here once and they mounted it on the wrong wheel after claiming they put it where it was supposed to go. They corrected their error, but left me wondering if they were all that competent. Their literature said one thing and their actions said the opposite, when I asked. Do your homework, before getting anything done here...oh and be sure to make an appointment a day ahead of time...sheesh. read more

Extremely dishonest place. DO NOT GO HERE. I had my car towed here with a flat and needed to just have tire replaced. It was late afternoon on a Saturday, and I was leaving for a long trip the next day and they knew this. So right before they were due to close they let me know I had to replace both tires, otherwise it would ruin my transmission. They told me If i didn't replace both, all they could do was put the spare on. They knew they had me over a barrel. All other tire places were closed at this point so I replaced them. And this is additional cost at Christmas that we just can't afford. We will never go here again read more

Outstanding customer service! And my car is driving great now! Brian and the other guys walked me through the work I needed on my car, and I never once felt taken advantage of or blindsided. I ended up needing four new tires and a new hub cap, talk about bad news! But they were extremely professional, personable, and treated me like a human being. I've experienced auto shops that treat me like an idiot, that do a poor job fixing my car, or that tell me I need extra work done (for a fee, of course). It turns out I did need "extra" work, but Brian showed me the damage, explained the process, and showed a lot of compassion. And now my car is remarkably better.
