Having been a long time admirer of Well-Being Sushi I was surprised to see negative comments. Every time I ate there, the food was excellent, the restaurant was very crowded for both sit down and take out orders and this popularity in a very small restaurant may have created dissatisfied diners. However, I know of no other local sushi restaurant where: 1. the food is so tasty and well prepared. 2. the price is so reasonable (lower than competitors) 3. the crowds so regular 4. the wait staff when not harassed by crowds and thereby rushed, pleasant and helpful 5. the only sushi restaurant to give you BOTH a soup and a salad 6. has bento boxes which generous and downright inexpensive 7. makes me so happy to have such an excellent restaurant so close to home. 8. One of my regular sushi spots when I'm in the area. Great portions and consistently good sushi. We always get a couple free pieces of sushi every time we go too which is a nice touch. The only downside about coming here is the waitresses are not attentive and very slow. There is usually always only one girl working and it's too much for her, especially on busy nights. read more

I used to eat at well being sushi on a regular basis and it is with a heavy heart that i say they have officially lost my business Recently the service has been going down the drain and sending an order back is unheard of. They either won' fix it or they'll argue with you that it is in fact what you ordered.. 0% of the tip actually goes to your server it goes to the ownership-reason i no longer tip them More often than not is my order incorrect as I have an allergy to sesame seeds and I specify "no sesame seed" and more often than not still get them. It has always angered me how the servers don't care. They never notice wether or not your drink is full. I've gone 27 minutes (I timed it) waiting for a refill on water when the restaurant was empty. I have resorted to simply ordering take out from them and not dealing with their terrible service but today I placed an order for dinner and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I walk in 40 minutes later and not only is my order not ready, No one had written it down and they had no record of it being place. The kid who took my order had already left. The woman at the register offered to take my order then and there and in a fit of rage I answered " NO I ordered this 40 minutes ago I'm not ordering know" she responded with "I don't have your order, You want to order now?" I yelled back *causing a scene* "No forget it I don't want it anymore" and stormed out. I truly regret every cent and every second I have spent at this sub par sorry excuse for a sushi bar. read more

Good sushi, but the service is terrible. Unnecessarily rude at times and super slow when they get busy. Pointless ordering ahead when they can't handle the volume of orders and pretty much wait until you get there to start making your order. My last order was done 30 minutes past the time they said it would be ready. Giving this place 2 stars only because the sushi is good, but the rude and slow staff make it not worth it at all. read more

The server was polite and accommodating. They gave us 3 pieces of extra sushi compliments of the kitchen, so that was nice. We ordered a spicy shrimp tempura roll, a spicy salmon roll and an eel roll. The sushi tasted decent, not bad, but also not phenomenal. I'm not sure how fresh the ingredients were either. The shrimp tempura roll was way too big to grab with the chopsticks. It was as big as the size of my palm. The salmon roll fell apart when I tried to grab it with the chopsticks and the ginger did not look fresh. The place also doesn't look very clean. We sat down in a table for 2 which was dirty from the previous customers however it wasn't visibly dirty. As I placed my arms down my blouse got dirty with a sticky substance that was not cleaned before we got there. We will not be going back. read more

I would NEVER go back to this place. I ordered three rolls to split between my wife and I and was told i had to order more food or leave!!!! The owner actually came out screaming at us! His wife had to hit him and drag him away from our table.. needless to say we left! Insane.. you cant make this stuff up. So sad my boyfriend and I have come here since they opened, used to be a great place. Recently totally different story. The woman who runs the place is so rude and cheap. Ex: they used to give a few complimentary fried California rolls today I was told I didn't order enough to receive "the free 3 pieces" - FYI I ordered 3 rolls!! Also the 3 rolls I ordered were tiny literally all rice.. What a shame. When I nicely pointed out the changes to her so walked away. Needless to say we will never return. Initially, I would give it a 4 star as it's a nice local sushi bar. Take out is fast and they do offer a good selection of rolls - big pieces too. And they always throw in some free samples. But guess what? They made an egregious mistake as I found a FISH BONE in my sushi. No, I did not make this up. I was livid and will never go back. That's a big no-no in the sushi business. This place is owned by Koreans and I would think they would be careful and mindful of the preparation and serving of raw fish. The place looks clean and they're friendly. I Wish there was an extra star to give this place. I have been to many different sushi places all over New Jersey and I must say this is probably one of the best I have ever had. The rolls were big but not alot of rice, they actually give you alot of fish, the way it is supposed to be. Many different sushi places with give u a ball of rice with nothing inside but here it is the other way around. They even gave me a extra roll free and some soup and all i got was 2 rolls. Every roll I tried was great. The place is small and cozy, so don't bring in parties of 10. It is a nice set up for intimate conversation. It's BYOB, I had the super spider roll, it was so big and so good. They kept giving us more sushi to try, and it was all good. I will definitely be going back. Sushi is ok but when I sit down it feels like the weather is going to change before the food arrives. Some things you can deal with but after waiting for a refill patiently and then having to ask again 15 minutes later wears on my patience. I would maybe do take out orders but they always seem to be understaffed. I have been going to well-being sushi for years now, and I've always loved their service and sushi. While I was eating there today (10/19/2019) both my friend and I witnessed the chefs eating the sushi as they prepared it with their gloves on, not once but twice. Well overdue review. I hit this place weekly, sometimes more. The quality of the fish is always excellent, the atmosphere is clean and quiet. They really nail the basics. The salmon and yellowtail in particular, are consistently magical. Be warned, the special rolls are humongous. Other rolls are reasonably sized, without too much rice and generous cuts of fish. I sometimes wish they had odd specials or new types of fish, but what they do have is so reliably yummy, I can't fault them for it. Favorites are the tuna tataki, hwe dub bap salad, and spicy yellowtail handroll... also, anything with that phenomenal salmon in it. read more

It's always a pain to see a great restaurant get a very bad review and one star just because the check wasn't given to them within 5 minutes. The waiters have other people to serve too, not just you. I'm here to talk about the food. Which is absolutely great! The sushi has big pieces of fish and very little rice, just the way I like it. All sushi was very fresh and delicious! Yummy stuff. They also give you free samples and fruit which is a definite plus. I highly recommend this place! I've always found the waitstaff to be friendly and attentive. I will agree with one negative review though. For fried dishes, they use a breaded batter, not the traditional tempura batter. So just stick to the sushi/ sashimi, it's fantastic! We were given a free deep-fried California roll with our order, And everything we ordered was of high quality.
