Several years ago with a renovation we had our wells re-done and enlarged. Large and nice metal grates were installed but leaves and critters (birds, frogs and rabbits) continued falling in and I'd have to rescue. Looking at various big box stores and doing online searches, there were no good options. Nothing was exact size and almost everything looked cheap. Fortunately through a marketing flyer in the mail I came across Well Covered. They (Vic and Oscar) were very responsive. Based on providing rough size dimensions they provided me a quote that was very reasonable. After agreeing to the estimate, they came out and cut all 4 plastic covers to the exact dimensions of each grate. The covering is high quality and they attach each with screws and clips. Super professional look on top of our nice grates, plus they even cleaned out the existing debris (and more frogs!) while they were at it. I contacted this company to ask about a window well replacement or repair. I explained that the top of our window well was cracked and I thought it could be repaired. They wanted to come out, dig it out, and replace it right away, complete with a new top to it. No consideration was given to the possibility of a repair. My husband and I determined that no water was going into the basement other than what could get into the top crack of the metal well (which did not go into the soil) and repaired it ourself. I'm guessing someone walked on the edge of our well, although the top is completely intact. The well remains dry, 6 months later --so, if I wanted to spend $1000 replacing a window well right away, this company would be great! If you just want a repair solution that costs less--go else where. read more

I'd give this company more than 5 stars if I could. When we built our house almost 10 years ago our builder chose to install a Wellcraft Egress Window so we could create a guest bedroom in out basement. I am so glad he did. Our cover became damaged after a very stormy night and was discoloring too. It still worked okay but with guest coming to stay with us we decided it should be replaced. In researching where to get a replacement I noticed the company had a life time warranty on the cover. I submitted a warranty claim (which was extremely easy to do) but thought like most companies they would try to find a way to deny the claim. So, we decided to order a replacement from Menard's right away. To our surprise the very next morning (Monday) I was informed the company accepted the warranty claim and would ship on out in 4-6 weeks. Our guest was coming in about a month so I was in a dilemma on weather or not to cancel my Menards order. To my surprise I received the replacement cover from Wellcraft that Friday already. I was able to cancel the Menards order but needed to pay a 25% restocking fee. Still very happy with the customer service at Wellcraft. read more

My new window wells make the whole house look better maintained and crisper. They have a good seal so I think it may help with some water leaking in during really bad storms. From inside my basement, the clear window wells are letting in more light than the hardware store cheap ones did. Each window well is fitted to that window well. One window well is an emergency exit so I was shown how easily you could push any of them out in an emergency. The two men came just when they said they would, worked quickly, and left no mess behind. They took the time to make sure I was satisfied. The price is not cheap compared to the ones at the hardware store but the quality is exceptional. read more

Turns out that the placement of our windows to the window wells would result in us taking off the covers every time we open the windows or have a gap, which would defeat the purpose.
