Well Suited - Men's Clothing Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

I have worked in the consignment industry since 2010. I have been a sales associate, assistant manager, store manager, in-take, and pricing employee. I know this industry well. Recently, I went to the "Well-Suited Store" in Scottsdale, AZ to consign five "7 Diamonds" shirts and two Hugo Boss shirts. The representative informed me that the clothes show inconsistencies, and they will not accept them. Here is the issue, I had purchased all these shirts at the Well-Suited Store in North Scottsdale, two months prior. I have not worn them nor touched them, other than to place them on a hanger. The inconsistencies are not with the clothes but with the In-take representatives. This is truly a lack of training. The consignment store has a wide selection of designer clothing, belts, and shoes. This issue will not prevent me from shopping there but be aware if you want to consign, your items can be rejected even if you purchased the items from their store earlier. The is a solution, train, train, train your employees. read more

I was doing the things today before I have surgery tomorrow. I admit I was very casual...nikes, sweats and a cape cod shirt. Remember that scene from "Pretty Woman" where they wouldn't help her. The woman in the men's store certainly wasn't going to go out of her way to assist me. Did I look wrong?. There was a $400 dollar watch that looks like a Movado style that I have wanted to replace. I mentioned it to her and was told the only Movado was in another case? Remember me? If that woman had had the courtesy to even suggest my looking at the other watch, I might have bought it. I've looked for the basic style long enough. I asked her a couple of questions concerning shoes which she , in my opinion, grudgingly answered. I have over 100 pairs of shoes so I am not desperate. But, I do like shoes, so what's another pair if I find one? I finally walked out. There are other stores that are quite friendly. I won't be going back there any time soon. I do want to compliment. Lee, in the woman's store. There is a piece of Mother of Pearl jewelry which he didn't have any issue taking the time to show me. Now, if I can just figure out if someone will want it??? Since they closed their Town & Country location this is the location in the metro Phoenix, not including North Scottsdale, where you can consign Men's clothes. And for the bougie characteristics of their staff and consignment policies, you're better off staying home. When you reach the consignment desk, you're greeted by large signs advertising "No trash bags" to lug around your load of items. Despite coming from a understandable place of dissuading bringing in potential wrinkled clothing, it is a policy you would be hard pressed to find on their sites, or even the typical brands they're seeking. Then again that might give the game away of their pretensions. But, what if you're donating used gently used, dressier midrange clothing? Do you risk a drive from Central Phoenix to Scottsdale for the hassle? They have a nice curated store but their rude, kurt approach to business is not worth it for the distance or the trouble. Very borderline 3-stars. Probably should be a 2, but there are occasions when there is something I find worthwhile. I used to frequent the Camelback location which, though a bit smaller in the men's section, seemed to have a much nicer vibe and somehow a better selection. I like to wander in once in a while to feed my Robert Graham shirt fix but more often than not I don't come across anything I care for. Well Suited can be a decent spot to stumble on some nice clothes at a somewhat reasonable price but overall I now find that it is rarely worth the trip for me. read more

I've consigned and shopped at the Scottsdale location as well as the Town and Country location for years. Now that the T&C location is closed I use the Lincoln location exclusively and have never been to the Pima location. This past Summer I consigned between 75-90 high-end designer items, all in beautiful condition. D&G, Armani, Tom Ford, DSquared2, Lanvin, Prada, etc. They held many for their fall sale, and many sold that first day. However, when I went in to retrieve my payment many items were missing. On the printout provided it showed the items entering their inventory, but never being sold, and still in stock. But nowhere to be found in the store. I questioned the sales associate who then passed me along to the Manager (Ann) who's answer was I needed to look through the store myself to locate my items. Many were shoes, so would be easy to locate, some near new and they were nowhere to be found along with the rest of the items. I then asked where my items could be, and if they were stolen, she said there was always a police officer there, so I asked if an employee may have taken them? And she became extremely rude and sarcastic. Saying if they were not there, there was nothing they could do. Seriously? We're talking about many items and a substantial chunk of change. So I was out of luck, they hold no responsibility, which is ridiculous, and how do I know the items didn't sell and they didn't keep all the proceeds? All I can say is this was a shady transaction, and I will never consign nor patronize this business ever again. So proceed with caution when dealing with this company. read more

So it all began when my moms talked me into tagging along as she ran some errands one evening a few years back, and one of those errands ended up being checking out "my sisters attic" for some furniture, then one of the women at the check out counter suggested she check out "my sisters closet "if she liked designer clothing at a very discounted price ... So sure enough we did, and VOILA - it just so happened there was a section for dudes right next door! So I left my moms digging for gold @ my sisters closet and I began my adventure @ well-suited! Frankly, it was quite shocking seeing designer clothes like Dolce & Gabanna, Calvin Klein, Versace, Diesel, Armani, etc. @ such great prices!! Here is the deal I like nice clothes, but not enough to pay $100+ for shirts, jeans, shoes, etc.... Oh hellz no that is just not who I am, but I will pay $12.50 -19.99+ for such items any day ;) When the price is right I'm sooooo game!! Secondly, this is a great place for men to shop who hate shopping & who despise walking through malls trying to find good deals on high end clothing that rarely if ever exist in stores like Nordstrom's or Macy's ... And geeeez I would never even bother to go into name brand designer boutique type stores forgettttttabouuuuut it - not happening!! ::cough:: RIP OFF central!! You do have to keep in mind that this is a consignment store, but who cares!?!? This quality of the merchandise here speaks for itself and I've never seen anything in this store that was in horrible shape ... They have fairly reasonable standards and sometimes you may score some items that have the actual original price tags on them!!! That is right folks ... Bait and switch, bring something to the counter that says $87.50, then they tell you it's wrong it should be $140, is that okay? No it's not okay, the tag is the price. Also, as so many other reviews have said the staff is rude. Not sure why they have their noses stuck so high in the air. I've shopped at both and the only friendly people seem to be at the store on 20th street. read more

This place screams pretentious and that's one of the reason why I chose to NOT consign my professional blazers to them. I entered the store and nobody acknowledged my presence. Gregg was too busy chatting with another man to actually stop to say hello to me. Then I have a rolling cart with my blazers hanging from them and Gregg goes about his visiting as if I don't exist. I had to ask him the procedure for consigning. He had ZERO sense of customer service! Then when I find my way to the consignment area Dorothy doesn't say hello or how are you. She starts with, "what's your phone number." I have no idea of the process so I tell her slowly and clearly and audibly. She doesn't get it so she asks again. Then she asks if I said "480" for my area code. Then she types in my phone number for the third time and then asks if I have ever consigned there before. I tell her no. Then she says, "that's why I can't find you." I was thinking to myself wouldn't it have been easier to just ask a question, "have you ever consigned with us before"? Wow! Then she says give me about 15 minutes. So I go back to the retail part of the store and proceeded to do my brief research. During my "shopping" research I noticed they have "inflated" retail prices and fabricated markdowns. Mind you, they have zero dollars invested in their inventory because they do not pay the customer any money until the product sells. So they have no vested interest in selling items for a fair and reasonable price. That was when I decided I do not want to consign my clothes. I went back to claim my clothes and Dorothy said, "nice clothes but they don't meet our price point." (The minimum, original retail price requirement is $75.) My Blazers come from Dillard's and Macy's with an average retail price of $195-$295 each. I told Dorothy that's fine because I have decided not to consign my clothes here. As I drove away I started thinking about Dorothy's comment where she said my clothes don't meet their price point. I called the store and spoke with the store manager, Justin. He said that clothes that are typically bought at national chain retailers can be bought for as low as $50 on clearance so that's why the decision was made that my blazers do not meet their price point. I would completely accept that my blazers were too old or out of style or something that did not fit the clientele but that was not a reason given to me. In fact, all my blazers are less than two years old and haven't been worn for the past 17 months so they're practically brand new!! Warning for all reading this: AVOID THIS RETAILER. Don't C O N -sign YOUR CLOTHES HERE. They have A LOT to learn about good customer service!! read more

My husband is a hoarder. No matter how many dozens of shirts he has hanging in his closet that have been worn only once or twice and sometimes never, he wants new ones. I thought of suggesting he try Well Suited, but I knew he would launch into a tirade about how I never "let" him buy anything. I guess all the crap he owns brings itself home. I digress. So one day I cleverly mention "Can you believe Donald S shops consignment?" I left it at that. Never brought it up again. Let it stew for a while. Sure enough, my husband eventually asks where the shop is. If I suggest it, I'm cheap. If Donald suggests it, it makes good sense. So I go with him, and now insist on going to filter his purchases. Some great deals to be had. He got what looked to be a brand new pair of Tommy Bahama shorts for $20. He's also picked up some nice button down shirts in the $17-$25 range. But beware, there is a lot of stuff there that should never have been accepted. Either go with your guy or make sure he knows what to watch out for because there are no returns. I've found shirts with snags, missing buttons, tears, and pit stains!!!! Disgusting!!!! For a shop that markets itself as a upscale consignment shop, I am shocked by the garbage they will take. As for the hoarding. We have a new rule. Buy a new shirt, get rid of one. Oddly, he often chooses to ditch his department store purchases and keep the Well Suited stuff. Unfortunately he isn't interested in consigning his almost new clothing. That goes to Goodwill. Some lucky f***er will stumble on a gold mine after my next drop. read more

There we were in Sister's Closet, my wife shopping, and me squirming in one of the "man" chairs. She could tell I was thinking of heading for some chips, salsa and beer at one the of the local eateries, so she took me by the hand to Well Suited, the male equivalent of Sisters. Then, of course, off she went back to Sisters. Not being a shopper, I was lost. Well Suited isn't as large as Sisters, nor does it have as a large selection, but there seemed to a little something of everything. After walking around the store, alone and in a daze, I got side tracked and went through a open archway to the furniture end of Sisters - which I found more interesting. After browsing through the home furnishings, I went back to Well Suited, and actually looked at the merchandise. I am not a shopper - but I do know golf shirts, and they had a number of brand name golf shirts at very discounted prices. A lot of Tommy Bahama, higher end Nike, Bobby Jones, and Greg Norman shirts in different sizes and colors. I can make decisions on those ( yes, she lets me make my own choices of golf shirts - she says it doesn't embarrass her - because she doesn't go with me when I golf). But she makes suggestions on my other clothes. When she came back from Sisters, she showed me other clothing I had missed - high end slacks, suits, shirts, and jackets. By then, my biologic shopping clock had reached the alarm level - I just couldn't shop anymore. But I did walk out with two shirts, and a desire to come back next time and shop for my at least my maximum of twenty minutes!! read more

"Why wasn't this called My Brother's Closet?" Although being male, My Sister's Closet seems to be a big hit among the women in my family. I am related to shopaholics and bargain hunters and though it seems that these may be part of a genetic predisposition to the Asian gene on both sides of the family, you would think that I spend my weekends on this expensive past time. I don't. But I do enjoy finding my bargain name brands here which are plenty. By coming here, I not only save on $$, but save on time spent shopping all over malls and waiting for sales desired clothing. They do have spectacular sales about twice a year on the consigned articles up to another 70% off (usually in late January and August). This is to make room for new seasonal items. While others may cringe at the thought of wearing consigned clothing, it is their loss due to the amazing savings. I cannot speak on the consignment system as I have not brought in any of my clothing, but I can attest to the selection to buy which are great, clean, and organized; providing opportunity for us to wear name brand clothing without the name brand price. My only question is why wasn't this called "My Brother's Closet?" I was recommended here by my new tailor when I told her I was planning a Euro trip and needed some good clothes that wouldn't kill my pocketbook. I was very pleased with the selection that they have to offer. They were a little light in anything below a size 42, but good quality stuff all around. AND CHEAP! I picked up a pair of Johnston & Murphey shoes, a Zenga 2pc suit, a London Fog raincoat, and a watch for all around $200. Everything was in excellent condition, except the shoes were quite beat up, but nothing a reconditioning from the manufacturer can't fix! If you are a size 44, this can be your new haven for great clothes, as racks were practically exploding with all sorts of stuff for the taking. read more

I have been a client of Well Suited for years, since they opened. I often wondered how items make it to the rack for sale with stain, holes, faded colors. I have taken thousands of dollars in retail to them to sell, well knowing I would get a faction of my money back. Today I took in leather jackets, dress shirts (Hermes, Zenella, and Tommy Bahama all items in perfect condition and dry cleaned. At least 80 items in total. They wanted 18 items..... I took everything back to donate. Their lack of knowledge and fashion is unsurpassed in knowing what is good, bad or Great. I will NEVER, EVER step foot in their establishment again. The Scottsdale location (Pima & Pinnacle Peak) is awesome. The lady that runs the shop, sorry....don't know her name....is friendly, knowledgeable and makes sure the store is clean and organized. It has to be her because the "sister" store next door is totally opposite. Well Suited smells of freshly cleaned clothes and the racks contain items that are ironed, neat and clean. The "sister" store smells of musty old clothing and many of the items are wrinkled and soiled. How can the same company have completely differently experiences? Must be the manager of the shop! My husband always finds something here and the prices are great. Hard to believe it's a consignment shop...everything looks brand new! I bought a Hugo Boss sweater for my son who is a clothing snob and would never even go into a consignment shop. But I fooled him and he loved the sweater and wears it frequently! read more

Well Suited is the slightly graying and out of shape bastard brother of My Sisters closet. That doesn't mean that he is without his charm! As I might have mentioned elsewhere, I recently went through some body changes and needed to find some new duds (to me at least...remember, this is a "resale" store). Carin thinks it's time for me to trade up from my current new age Jethro Bodine look to something a bit more "man about town". The Beautiful Carin loves Sisters Closet and told me that I needed to take a look at the men's stuff there, as well as going to my buddies at At Ease, so I did and I have. The first time I was ever in this store, a couple of years ago, they were selling, among other things, used underwear...I'm sorry, but that just creeped me out! This time, no underwear for sale, so I didn't get that tingle in the back of my neck that tells me to get out!!! I did find a pretty good selection, including an entire section devoted to used Tommy Bahama (only in Scottsdale:) ). They have a nice selection of sport coats, slacks, golf shirts, high end jeans, etc. Nothing really special, but if you look around, you will see something that's got appeal. I found a great Tommy Hawaiian shirt, retail $220, for $20. All the prices here are similar. It's Earth Day, and on the clothing front, I usually celebrate by wearing everything I own until it's literally in tatters (hence the Jethro reference). But, you can celebrate Earth Day by buying used clothes and re-wearing THEM until they are in tatters. Enjoy your shopping trip! read more

This place has NO clue when it comes to pricing men's items, and I would not recommend them at all. I consigned a leather briefcase worth close to $600, and they priced it for $90, giving me a whopping take-home of $40. I understand the need to move merchandise quickly (and naturally, this sold in a matter of days), but cannot fathom why they would not attempt to get more money for the item.
