I was there today and it wasn't busy, but the shipment was being unloaded. I pulled my ticket but no one was calling out numbers. I finally asked a woman for help but she said "I don't work here but I'll let them know". At that point I just left. I've been ignored there for 25 years going back to the old Latham location. One positive experience I had was a few years ago. They had species plant I wanted but there was only a couple left. The salesman informed me that they had some that were yet to be unpacked in the back room. Long story short he was reprimanded for selling plants that weren't yet in the display case (in front of me while I was checking out). That ruined the experience and made me feel I did something wrong. So I guess I never had a positive experience, I just witnessed someone going above and beyond being treated like trash. It's sad to say, but I'm actually happier walking in and not seeing anything I want to buy. The stressful part is seeing something I want and having to jump through hoops to get someone's attention and get service. These fish require different water parameters and have very different temperaments, which creates stress and weakens their immune systems. Stressed fish are far more likely to develop ich (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, or "white spot disease"), and once one fish is infected, the entire tank is at risk. Unfortunately, stores that mix species like this often deny responsibility and may mislead customers to avoid refunds or replacements. For anyone buying fish from any store that displays mixed species, I strongly recommend quarantining and proactively treating for potential bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections before adding them to your main aquarium. This precaution protects both your tank and your fish.

I reminded that I called and said I would be ... waiting... for my one hour appointment. Sorry, she said, they were very booked. IF... she said... I wanted my 1 hour appointment I could pay an EXTRA $15, they would do that... but not of Fridays. I left WITH Sadie and said that wasn't going to work. Spoke with the manager on my way out. He apologized but basically said "that is just how their reservation system works." It allows overbooking. He offered to comp me a box of $15 biscuits on my next appointment if I was charged an extra $15. That was nice, but nope. Not going back.

Tom and his guys came in and replaced it all. They gently transferred all of my koi - some as old as the pond - to holding tanks, drained it and then cleaned it all before reversing the process. My pond was crystal clear for the entire season. I cannot recommend this company enough!

Upon letting him know what I wanted to the time he returned two minutes later with everything I needed including some really nice product brochures and pond care info all neatly packed in a custom GSK tote...I slid my card in the very safe handheld chip reader, my receipt came out instantly and we chatted for a few and I was on my way. No longer than 10 minutes from when I entered the lot. Btw, if you're a registered member and usually have to be looked up by last name or member code....no worries since he automatically gives the VIP discount that saved me over $10.
